Jason Thompson scored 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting with 11 rebounds and one block in the Kings' 107-96 home loss to the Spurs on Friday.
Thompson has been pretty good so far under George Karl but he got his numbers with DeMarcus Cousins out and he should be back anytime now. If he can keep it up when Cousins returns, we'll let you know. Feb 28 - 4:26 AM

Jason Thompson had 10 points, 11 rebounds, a steal and four blocks on 3-of-9 shooting in Wednesday's win over Memphis for new coach George Karl.

He had zero points and four boards in his last game, but may have caught Karl's attention tonight. Just put him on your radar, as he hasn't done much from night to night this season.
Feb 26 - 2:24 AM

Jason Thompson moved back into the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Clippers, but he failed to score in 21 minutes of action and grabbed just four rebounds with one block.

Thompson has been pretty pathetic this season and it wouldn't be surprising to see him camping out on the bench again soon. With head coach George Karl's rotations still in flux, Thompson didn't do himself any favors tonight. Leave him on the wire.
Feb 22 - 1:03 AM

Jason Thompson will start in place of Carl Landry on Saturday.

Coach George Karl is trying to figure this thing out here. You can ignore this news unless you get a bonus for games started.
Feb 21 - 9:09 PM

According to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports, Jason Thompson's representatives "would like to get him traded" before the Feb. 19 deadline.

Thompson is owed $6.4 million next season and his 2016-17 salary is guaranteed for $2.7 million, so he won't find any teams clamoring to trade for him. His interest in leaving Sacramento is understandable since the Kings are in disarray following the abrupt firing of Mike Malone, which led to interim coach Ty Corbin taking the reins until the front office eventually signed George Karl to what is reportedly a four-year contract. We'll keep an eye out for trade talk involving Thompson, but he's likely to finish out the season in Sacto.
Feb 16 - 12:13 AM

Jason Thompson will slide to the Kings' bench on Wednesday with Omri Casspi taking his spot in the starting lineup.

This is likely a one-game switch for matchup purposes, and all bets will be off once George Karl is calling the shots in Sacramento. Thompson hasn't even had value while starting this season so there's no reason to touch him while he's coming off the bench.
Feb 11 - 6:46 PM

Jason Thompson finished Tuesday's road loss with seven points, seven rebounds and no other stats to his credit in 19 minutes.

Thompson has fended off a wide variety of challengers for the Kings' starting PF job over the years and he's doing it again this season, starting 46 games while coming off the bench just three times. He's averaging a mere 5.5 points, 6.4 boards and 0.6 steals in those starts, however, and standard-league owners should ignore him.
Feb 10 - 10:51 PM

Jason Thompson will start at power forward against the Mavericks on Thursday.

He came off the bench in favor of Derrick Williams last time and coach Ty Corbin will continue to mix it up. Thompson is not an option in most leagues.
Feb 5 - 9:01 PM

Jason Thompson came back to Earth with DeMarcus Cousins back on Monday, posting just four points and seven rebounds in 28 minutes.

He went for 23 & 22 on Saturday and we warned folks not to flinch. This one was pretty easy to see coming and Thompson can remain on the wire in most formats.
Jan 20 - 2:59 AM

Jason Thompson exploded against the Clippers on Saturday with 23 points, 22 boards, two assists and one block in 36 minutes.

DeMarcus who? The Kings were still popped on the mouth on the defensive side, but Thompson had his best game in a long time. He was out of the rotation earlier this season for one game and he hadn't scored in double-figures since Dec. 11 before tonight, so this line is a major fluke. Unless we get some bad news on DeMarcus Cousins, JT can stay on the wire.
Jan 18 - 1:51 AM

Jason Thompson logged 32 minutes in Sunday's easy win vs. the Cavaliers, finishing with seven points (3-of-8 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), 10 rebounds and one steal.

This was Thompson's first double-digit rebounding game in a month, and he's been held to single-digit scoring in each of Sacramento's past 14 games. Derrick Williams and Carl Landry are a constant threat to his playing time, which is all the more reason to avoid him in standard fantasy leagues.
Jan 11 - 11:39 PM

Jason Thompson played 24 minutes against the Wolves on Thursday with eight points, six rebounds and two blocks.

He picked up a DNP-CD on Wednesday and coach Ty Corbin kept true to his word that he would play Thompson tonight. Still, there is just no ceiling for him with low blocks and not much else. He can be ignored in most leagues.
Jan 1 - 11:27 PM

Head coach Tyrone Corbin said that Jason Thompson will play Thursday against the Timberwolves.

Thompson picked up a DNP-CD on Wednesday, but it looks like he'll step back into the rotation on Friday. However, he's averaging just 5.1 points and 6.2 rebounds this season, so he can't be viewed as a reliable asset in most leagues.
Jan 1 - 6:43 PM

Jason Thompson received a DNP-CD on Wednesday against the Celtics.

Well, that's not going to help his trade value. Thompson started all 31 games this season and was playing 25.5 minutes per game, so this is a surprise to see him see such a dip. He'll likely get back in the rotation at some point, but he's not going to be worth owning in almost any league.
Wed, Dec 31, 2014 03:23:00 PM

Jason Thompson will shift to the bench for Wednesday's game vs. Boston, with Ryan Hollins joining the starting lineup.

Thompson has been terrible lately, so coach Tyrone Corbin is going to change things up for Wednesday. There is no word as to whether or not the switch will be permanent, but we will watch this situation closely. However, neither player is an attractive fantasy asset, and both of them can be ignored in standard leagues until further notice.
