Celtics sign D.J. White to a multi-year contract.
An expected move, White will function as depth and will remain with the team the rest of the way. He likely got a multi-year deal like Terrence Williams and will have to compete for a roster spot in training camp before next season begins. Mar 20 - 12:03 PM

The Celtics will sign D.J. White for the remainder of the season, sources told CSNNE.

White has signed two 10-day contracts, and with the C's needing big bodies behind Kevin Garnett, it's not a surprise to see White stick with the team. Prior to joining Boston, he had been playing in China this year.

Mar 11 - 8:28 AM

D.J. White was spotted on the Celtics' team plane, indicating they plan to sign him to a second 10-day contract.

White joined the Celtics after playing in China earlier this year. He had two rebounds in four minutes in his lone appearance since signing his first 10-day deal.
Mar 9 - 1:40 PM

D.J. White has been cleared to practice with the Celtics and is expected to be active on Friday.

White got his letter of clearance from China and will provide the Celtics with insurance in the big man department behind Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass and Chris Wilcox.
Feb 28 - 11:40 AM

D.J. White has finally received a letter of clearance from China and will sign with the Celtics within 24 hours, sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

White has been with the Celtics for a little bit while awaiting the actual letter and will soon be added to the roster on a 10-day deal. He'll give the Celtics depth up front but won't affect any fantasy league.
Feb 27 - 3:25 PM

D.J. White won't make his Boston debut until Friday at the earliest.

Even though he's with the team, he hasn't been cleared to play yet. White doesn't figure to crack the rotation and there's no need to pick him up in any league.
Feb 25 - 7:55 PM

D.J. White is awaiting final clearance before he's allowed to play with the Celtics.

White is waiting on a letter of clearance from China, where he was playing with the Shanghai Sharks prior to their season ending. When cleared, the C's will officially add him on a 10-day deal.
Feb 25 - 8:17 AM

D.J. White is close to signing with the Celtics and could play as soon as Sunday.

The Celtics traded away Jason Collins, so they need a little bit more depth in their frontcourt. His minutes should be scarce and there's almost no reason to pick him up in any fantasy league.
Feb 22 - 8:30 PM

The Celtics are interested in signing D.J. White to a 10-day contract, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

White signed in China this year, but his season is now over so he'll look to return to the NBA. The Celtics are in the market for a big body.
Feb 22 - 9:11 AM

D.J. White signed a one-year contract with the Shanghai Sharks in China, but he would be able to sign with an NBA team when the Sharks' season ends.

White averaged 6.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 19 minutes per game with the Bobcats last season. Adrian Wojnarowski notes that he would be eligible to sign with an NBA team for the playoffs, but it could take a spate of injuries to make any team interested in him.

The Shanghai Sharks are "moving in" on unrestricted FA D.J. White, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

We heard earlier this week that Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel was interested in White, and now he's drawing interest in China. Per Stein, White has been "drawing interest from (a) handful of NBA teams," but he may find a bigger role overseas and could choose to take the same path Craig Smith did earlier in the offseason.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is interested in unrestricted FA D.J. White.

This is the same team that just waived Pops Mensah-Bonsu because of an injury. White is likely to explore his options in the NBA before deciding whether or not to go overseas, and it's a small surprise he hasn't been able to latch on to an end of a bench by now.

Unrestricted FA D.J. White hopes to make a decision in the next couple of weeks.

White will visit a couple of other teams before deciding where to sign. "I have a couple options," he said. "I just want to be in a position to succeed." Wherever he winds up, White will likely serve as depth at PF and won't offer consistent fantasy value.

John Hollinger is reporting that the Bobcats will likely have to renounce their rights to F D.J. White in order to sign PG Ramon Sessions.

White was likely gone anyway as a restricted free agent. He's shown glimpses of talent, but is not a guy who should be owned in most fantasy leagues, regardless of where he ends up.
