Feb 23 - 12:08 PM

Omer Asik (illness) is doubtful to play against the Rockets on Thursday.

He's not in the rotation anyway. The Pelicans would love to shed Asik's contract.
Feb 22 - 5:09 PM

Omer Asik was a DNP-CD on Saturday against the Bulls.

This isn't a surprise. The Pelicans did miss him on the glass today, but Asik just has too many holes in his game to be trusted.
Jan 14 - 7:20 PM

Omer Asik will move to the bench on Saturday against the Bulls.

He could be a DNP-CD. Asik has almost no fantasy value.
Jan 14 - 4:22 PM

Omer Asik played five minutes in a start against the Nets on Thursday with one board and two fouls.

The ol' 0.0 usage rate, as well. One of these days coach Alvin Gentry won't regret starting Asik. That day was not today.
Jan 12 - 10:44 PM

Omer Asik will start against the Nets on Thursday.

He'll be on a tight leash tonight, especially with how the Nets use Brook Lopez as a stretch five now. Asik is a very risky DFS target and isn't worth owning in almost any league.
Jan 12 - 7:08 PM

Omer Asik is "very much available" in trade talks according to sources of CSNNE.

He's in the second year of his five-year, $58 million deal, so that contract won't be easy to move. Asik's minutes in New Orleans are on the decline and the team recently demoted him to the bench in favor of Alexis Ajinca. Even if he's traded to a better situation, there's not enough upside to warrant a stash -- he's averaging 3.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game this season.

Omer Asik started the third quarter over Alexis Ajinca on Thursday.

Ajinca had three fouls in five minutes. That moved made very little sense against Joel Embiid.

Omer Asik will come off the bench on Thursday.

He hasn't scored a field goal since Friday, but obviously Asik isn't in the lineup for offense. He has veery little upside regardless.

Omer Asik made another start on Tuesday and had his first double-double of the season with 10 points, 11 boards, a steal and a block on 4-of-6 shooting in 26 minutes.

He's been pretty useless thus far, despite starting, and hadn't hit double figures in either points or rebounds in his previous six games. And in his three previous games double-digit rebounding games, he scored a total of zero points in them. He belongs on waiver wires, despite tonight's heroics. The Lakers have a way of giving things up to guys they shouldn't.

Omer Asik and Tim Frazier will start again on Saturday against the Hornets.

It's the same lineup as Friday with Anthony Davis, Dante Cunningham and E'Twaun Moore. Asik doesn't have value, but Terrence Jones is an interesting option even in a bench role.

Omer Asik played 13 minutes in a start against the Lakers on Saturday with two points and five rebounds.

Coach Alvin Gentry loves him too much. Asik doesn't even rebound the ball too well these days and he's slower on rotations, too. He isn't worth owning in most leagues.

Tim Frazier, E'Twaun Moore, Dante Cunningham, Anthony Davis and Omer Asik will start against the Lakers on Saturday.

Back on Thursday, the Bucks tweeted out this lineup, but it turned out to be different. This time, it's coming from the Pelicans, so it holds a little more weight. We wouldn't 100 percent believe this, but it looks like it'll stick.
Sat, Nov 12, 2016 06:19:00 PM

Omer Asik started on Monday vs. the Warriors and played 14 minutes, scoring eight points with six rebounds.

He was averaging 1.5 points and 6.7 rebounds in 18.8 minutes per game prior to Monday, and his playing time is going to fluctuate based on the matchups. Leave him on the wire.
