The Hornets waived F Patrick Ewing Jr. on Tuesday.

That Ewing isn't being held on a team with nobody signed and in need of younger players is a bit of buzzkill if you're rooting for his progress. Obviously, there is no fantasy value in Dynasty leagues or otherwise.

Hornets signed F Patrick Ewing Jr. for the remainder of the season.

Since signing a 10-day contract after David West's knee injury, Ewing Jr. has made three garbage appearances with the Hornets. He's just insurance if more injuries strike the Hornets.

The Hornets are expected to sign Patrick Ewing Jr. out of the D-League.

Ewing Jr. nearly made the Knicks' roster two years in a row, but has yet to enter a regular season NBA game. He's useful to fill out New Orleans' bench but has no fantasy value.

Patrick Ewing Jr. "is expected to make the team," according to Knicks beat writer Alan Hahn.

Ewing Jr. signed a partially guaranteed deal this summer, bringing the Knicks' roster to the maximum 15 players. He'll be a fan favorite during every game at MSG but will probably be limited to garbage minutes.

The Knicks have re-signed Patrick Ewing Jr. to a partially guaranteed deal.

It will likely become fully guaranteed if he makes the team's final roster, which is far from a guarantee. But if he does make it out of training camp and onto the team, he'll be the final player added to the Knicks' 15-man roster.

Patrick Ewing Jr. will not play for the Knicks during summer league because of a "medical issue," probably the knee injury that ended his D-League season.

Ewing could still get an invitation to training camp, but he's a longshot to make the Knicks' regular season roster. Regardeless of where he ends up, he won't have any fantasy appeal.

Patrick Ewing Jr. has been assigned to the Reno Bighorns, a D-League affiliate that is shared between the Knicks and Kings.

The Knicks or any other team can sign Ewing Jr. at any time. Regardless of where he may end up this season, he's still an extreme longshot to build up any fantasy value.

Patrick Ewing Jr. is expected to begin working out with the Knicks D-League team in Reno, and could potentially rejoin the Knicks roster this week.

Once the Stephon Marbury and/or Cuttino Mobley sagas are resolved, a roster spot would open up that may be slated for Ewing Jr. While we wouldn't rule out the possibility of anyone producing in Mike D'Antoni's system, Ewing Jr. is still nowhere close to having fantasy value.

Patrick Ewing Jr. was practicing with the Knicks on Saturday, presumably in anticipation of being re-signed.

The Knicks waived Ewing Jr. at the end of October, but there might be another roster spot opening up if Stephon Marbury is bought out. Ewing isn't going to have any value, beyond pleasing nostalgic Knicks fans.

The Knicks cut Patrick Ewing Jr. on Monday, dropping their roster down to 15 players.

There was hope by many Knicks fans that the team would buy out Jerome James and give Ewing a roster spot. Especially after he provided some good vibes and karma with a strong preseason performance on the same day the latest Isiah Thomas drama broke. James will be useless in Mike D'Antoni's system and there's still a chance that we'll see baby Ewing back in a Knicks jersey at some point this season.

Patrick Ewing Jr. keyed a 4th quarter comeback attempt by the Knicks against the Nets on Friday with seven points, one blocked shot, and one steal.

Ewing Jr. is in danger of being cut, but this performance may have won him a roster spot. His seven points came on a three-point shot and two rim-rattling dunks. There is absolutely no fantasy impact to this, but nostalgia at the Garden was in full effect with chants of "Pat-rick Ew-ing".

Patrick Ewing Jr. will not be pulling his dad's jersey number out of the rafters of Madison Square Garden if he makes the Knicks' final roster.

"I'm going to wear No. 6," said Ewing Jr. "It was my dad's Olympic number, and Bill Russell's number, who was my favorite player." Ewing said he realizes fans were eager to know number he would choose, but that No. 33 will always belong to his dad. "My dad's jersey's hanging up there in the rafter's for a reason," he said. Ewing has a real shot at making the team, but it depends on what they do with Stephon Marbury and whether or not they buy out the contract of Jerome James.
