The Bulls waived guard DeMarcus Nelson and forward Linton Johnson on Thursday.
Johnson signed a pair of 10-day contacts with the Bulls last March and was signed for the remainder of the season, while Nelson was acquired as a free agent last April. Thu, Jul 30, 2009 06:43:00 PM

Rookie DeMarcus Nelson was signed by the Bulls on Thursday for the rest of the season.

After a surprising early run for the Warriors, Nelson ended up getting waived in early January. The move may be an indication of the Bulls' confidence in backup Lindsay Hunter, or to simply shore up the backcourt. Either way, it will have no fantasy implications.

The Warriors waived guard DeMarcus Nelson on Monday.

Nelson was a nice surprise early in the season, even starting five games, but had fallen out of the rotation. The move saves the team approximately $200,000, and cleared the way to sign Jermareo Davidson to a 10-day contract.

The Warriors have recalled DeMarcus Nelson from the D-League.

We can't decisively rule out the possibility of anyone making a contribution in the insanely unpredictable Golden State rotation, but Nelson is an extreme longshot to have any fantasy value. He averaged 5.4 ppg in eight games with the Warriors earlier this season.

The Warriors have sent rookie point guard DeMarcus Nelson to the D-League.

Nelson started the first five games of the season but quickly dropped down the depth chart. His new team is the world-famous Bakersfield Jam.

DeMarcus Nelson was indeed the starting point guard for the Warriors tonight, but played just 13 minutes, scored six points and handed out one assist.

Stephen Jackson appeared to handle the ball on most posessions and we're guessing the Warriors are going to be a mess at point guard all season. Feel free to hang onto Nelson if you're desperate for a PG, but don't expect any miracles. Nellie only played a seven-man rotation tonight.

DeMarcus Nelson started at point guard for the Warriors on Tuesday and had 11 points, eight rebounds, one assist and two steals in the loss.

We're still not convinced he's going to remain the starter, but he's probably worth a last-round flier at this point.

Warriors coach Don Nelson said on Monday that rookie DeMarcus Nelson would be his starting point guard if the season began today.

Nelson is the flavor of the week in Golden State, but we're not convinced that he'll have lasting value. C.J. Watson and Marcus Williams will both be vying for minutes at PG, and coach Nelson will fulfill his yearly ritual by quickly tiring of the rookie he praised throughout the preseason. Take him with a late-round flier if you must...just don't expect too much.

DeMarcus Nelson played 28 minutes Friday, scoring 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Nelson had a sweet coast-to-coast dunk tonight, but isn't likely to have much fantasy value this season. But Don Nelson wants him to play some point guard so keep your eye on him during the regular season if he is getting minutes.

Warriors coach Don Nelson said he's willing to keep as many as four point guards on his opening-day roster, which is good news for DeMarcus Nelson and Dan Dickau.

The little-known Nelson has become Nellie's 'quirk of the week.' "He's gone from a guy who I didn't think had a chance to make our team, and he's coach's favorite player right now," Don Nelson said. "That must mean something." Um, yeah. It means that Nellie is going to continue to say and do things that don't make sense. We still think you can pencil Marcus Williams in as the point guard for the Warriors despite the fact that Nellie only seems to love C.J. Watson and Nelson at this point.

The Warriors signed guard DeMarcus Nelson, swingman Dion Dowell and forward Rob Kurz to undisclosed contracts on Tuesday.

Nelson, a Bay Area native, was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in his senior year at Duke. The Warriors now have 18 players entering training camp, so obviously Nelson, Dowell and Kurz are longshots to make the regular season roster.
