Cartier Martin (foot) played two minutes in Tuesday's road defeat, failing to score or record any statistics.
Martin has been slowed by plantar fasciitis and may need a while to regain his conditioning. Even at full strength he's a negligible fantasy option while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Singler and Caron Butler are all healthy. Nov 25 - 10:59 PM

Date:

Cartier Martin (foot) is available to play on Monday.

Martin's plantar fasciitis has healed, but he's not on the fantasy radar.
Nov 17 - 1:36 PM

Cartier Martin (foot) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Thunder.

He's getting very close to making his regular-season debut, but tonight will not be the night. When he does finally return to the active roster, he's not likely to average enough minutes to be worthy of standard league consideration, but may take away some minutes from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Feel free to leave him on the wire.
Nov 14 - 6:53 PM

Cartier Martin (foot) is likely going to play against the Thunder on Friday.

He has been out all season with plantar fasciitis. Martin is not a lock for minutes, but he could take some playing time away from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Nov 14 - 2:47 PM

Cartier Martin (foot) went through a full practice on Thursday, and hopes to be able to play Friday vs. OKC.

Martin will see how his foot responds to going through a full practice on Thursday, but if all is well, he'll look to make his season-debut Friday. However, he'll likely be eased back into the rotation, and is looking at a backup role at best, so he's not going to be worth owning in standard leagues.

Nov 14 - 10:26 AM

Cartier Martin (foot) returned to practice on Thursday.

Martin is currently behind Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Caron Butler, and Kyle Singler on the depth chart, so his return to action will be negligible for owners in standard leagues.

Cartier Martin (foot) will not play against the Wizards on Wednesday.

He hasn't been in the lineup all season due to his plantar fasciitis. Martin has no fantasy value.
Nov 12 - 6:18 PM

Cartier Martin (plantar fasciitis) was inactive for Sunday's game.

We're considering Martin day-to-day until the Pistons update his status, though his availability shouldn't impact fantasy lineups. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Caron Butler and Kyle Singler are all ahead of him on the depth chart, and Detroit's big lineup with Josh Smith at SF reduces Martin's role even further.
Nov 10 - 1:32 AM

Cartier Martin (foot) is out on Wednesday against the Knicks.

He has yet to play this season as he continues to recover from plantar fasciitis. However, even when he does return he won't have much value while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is healthy. Martin can be ignored in almost all leagues.
Nov 5 - 11:40 AM

Cartier Martin (foot) is feeling better, but there is no timetable for his return.

Martin is day-to-day and it's not clear how much longer he'll be out. When he does return, it's unlikely he'll make an immediate impact as he'll need to knock off the rust and earn a spot in the rotation.

Nov 3 - 12:10 PM

Cartier Martin (foot) will not play on Saturday night.

He hasn't played yet due to plantar fasciitis. Martin would have been in the rotation behind Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, but there is no reason to stash him. Hopefully, KCP can actually hit open shots tonight.
Nov 1 - 6:08 PM

Cartier Martin (foot) is considered questionable for Saturday's game.

He has already missed the first two games of the season due to mild plantar fasciitis, so it is unclear if he will be ready to go. Regardless, with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope healthy, Martin won't see enough minutes to be fantasy relevant.
Nov 1 - 12:04 PM

Cartier Martin (foot) will not play again on Thursday.

Martin was unavailable on Wednesday, and he's not ready to return just yet. Spencer Dinwiddie will play backup to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope once again.

Cartier Martin (foot) will not play on Wednesday.

He has plantar fasciitis and could miss more time. Spencer Dinwiddie will back up Kentavious Caldewell-Pope.
Oct 29 - 8:31 PM

Cartier Martin (plantar fasciitis) is a game-time decision for Wednesday.

It's definitely not a great sign for a player to have plantar fasciitis before the season starts. Martin could have been in the starting lineup for the Pistons, but Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (knee) is ready to go. He can be ignored everywhere while KCP is basically a must-own guy for his upside.
