Cartier Martin played 37 minutes against the Sixers on Friday, scoring six points with four boards, two assists, one steal and one block on 2-of-8 shooting.

The Wizards are really short-handed on the wing and Cartier is going to have an opportunity. The Wizards have just two games left in the season, so he should only be viewed as a desperation plug-n-play in daily leagues. Garrett Temple played 31 minutes and had a solid line of eight points, five boards, two assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer. Temple is a more valuable piece in fantasy leagues.

Cartier Martin will start at small forward in Friday's game against the Sixers.

With both Martell Webster and Trevor Ariza sidelined by injury, the Wiz are scraping at the three-spot. It's Martin's first start of the year, but he's a scorer. His per-36 minute averages this season include 14.6 points and 3.2 3-pointers.

Cartier Martin hit four 3-pointers in Tuesday's 120-99 loss to the Knicks, scoring 16 points with three boards on 6-of-12 shooting.

He's scored just nine points in his previous six games, so this line came out of nowhere. Trevor Ariza did not play, which allowed some extra playing time for Martin. He can be left on the wire in almost all leagues.

Cartier Martin set a new career-high with 23 points in 30 minutes off the Wizards bench on Saturday, hitting 8-of-13 FGs, including 6-of-9 from downtown.

Trevor Ariza (flu) hit seven 3-pointers on Friday but he wasn't available tonight, so Martin stepped in with an equally impressive performance. He added three rebounds and three assists in a line bound to get plenty of attention, but with Ariza day-to-day there's no reason to consider picking up Martin unless you're solely targeting 3-pointers.

Cartier Martin (knee) returned to action on Friday, hitting just 1-of-8 shots to finish with two points, two rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 18 minutes.

The Wizards lost handily and this was the first time we've seen Martin on the court in about two months. Barring a surprise, he will do more to steal value from others than he will do for himself.

The Wizards have been playing better since John Wall's return, and with Trevor Ariza healthy it's doubtful that Martin will approach the 22 minutes per game he averaged in December. Consider him questionable to return at Toronto on Monday.

Martin has missed four straight games with a knee injury and there is no timetable for his return. With Jordan Crawford (ankle) on the mend, Martin may return to an uncertain role in the rotation.

Cartier Martin (knee) will miss his fourth game and is inactive against the Kings on Wednesday.

Now that the Wizards backcourt is getting healthy with the exception of Jordan Crawford (ankle), Martin's attractiveness in even deep leagues loses its luster. He probably won't play his average of 17.6 minutes once he's able to return.

He was a solid fill-in player for the Wizards while they were dealing with injuries. Now that the team is approaching full strength, he'll have a tough time carving out a noteworthy role.

Cartier Martin (knee) did some light shooting on Thursday and is uncertain for Saturday's game vs. the Hawks.

Martin did not play against the Thunder on Monday, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him take Saturday's game off as well. If he's out, look for Martell Webster and Trevor Ariza to pick up some extra minutes.
