The Warriors will not extend a qualifying offer to center Chris Hunter, making him an unrestricted FA.
The pool of FA big men in shallow enough that Hunter, a rugged 6'11" PF/C, should find an NBA bench to keep warm. Mon, Jun 28, 2010 02:36:00 PM

Chris Hunter started at center for the shorthanded Warriors on Tuesday, but had just two points, six rebounds and three blocks in 35 minutes.

Don Nelson was basically forced to use Hunter extensively, as Ronny Turiaf was out with the flu and the Warriors had just seven healthy players. Turiaf is day-to-day and we recommend avoiding both he and Hunter (unless you're desperate for blocks).

Chris Hunter (broken nose) returned to action on Friday, but played just five minutes and scored two points with one rebound and no assists.

He has had his moments this year, but has faded into the background and isn't worth fantasy consideration right now.

Chris Hunter is listed as questionable for Friday due to a broken nose suffered during Wednesday night's game.

Anthony Tolliver should benefit if Hunter can't go. Tolliver's the only one of the two with value anyway.

Chris Hunter got pummeled in the face/nose with an accidental elbow from teammate Corey Maggette Wednesday and went to the locker room after bleeding on the floor.

He was able to return in the second quarter, but sat out the second half with the injury. Consider him day-to-day.

Chris Hunter had 10 points and 10 rebounds in a start for the Warriors on Wednesday.

He struggled in his previous three games, so we're not thrilled with the idea of picking him up right now. He also benefited from Anthony Tolliver getting into early foul trouble.

Chris Hunter came off the bench on Wednesday and hit 7-of-9 shots for 17 points, eight boards, two assists, two steals and a block on Wednesday.

We're not sure what to think about Hunter, but he had 22 points and seven boards on Monday. He's getting heavy minutes with centers Ronny Turiaf and Andris Biedrins injured, and while he could fall apart at any time, he's still worth a look - just like the rest of the unknown Warriors.

Warriors center Chris Hunter grabbed seven rebounds and scored a career-high 22 points vs. the Lakers on Monday, making 8-of-14 FGs and 6-of-6 FTs.

Golden State's injuries have thrust Hunter into a large starting role these days, but there was no way to see this coming. He had scored double-digits three times all season and was averaging 2.0 points in the past two games. It's Nellie, after all, so take this with a grain of salt.

Chris Hunter started at center for the short-handed Warriors on Monday. He had just 10 points in three rebounds in 18 minutes.

Hunter is an intriguing boards & blocks guy, but nothing about Nellie's rotations suggest he'll stick in this role for long -- especially with Ronny Turiaf (knee) day-to-day.
Mon, Mar 8, 2010 11:11:00 PM

Warriors big man Chris Hunter got extra playing time when Ronny Turiaf (knee) went down on Saturday, notching nine points, 13 rebounds (five offensive), one steal and two blocks in 32 minutes.

There are obviously no guarantees with the Warriors, but Hunter is an intriguing source of rebounds and blocks. He'll only get enough minutes to matter if Turiaf remains out, however, so don't rush to pick him up until we have an update.

Warriors coach Don Nelson has threatened to give extra play to Chris Hunter in an attempt to motivate Andris Biedrins to pick up his play.

This isn't as much of an endorsement of Hunter as it is a condemnation of Biedrins. Even with some extra minutes we don't see Hunter holding value any time soon.
Thu, Feb 25, 2010 09:45:00 AM

Warriors coach Don Nelson has a "love-hate relationship" with big man Chris Hunter, who fouled out of Friday's game in 11 minutes.

Prior to Friday's dud, Hunter hadn't played in five of the previous 10 games. In the five he played in, he averaged less than six minutes and was a combined 2-of-8 from the field with five rebounds. Enough said.
Sat, Jan 16, 2010 10:44:00 AM

Chris Hunter fouled out in just 11 minutes in Friday's loss to the Bucks.

Hunter failed to score, but did have five rebounds and a block tonight. He's only worth a look in deep leagues, but could offer a little value given the fact the Warriors are running out of big men.
Sat, Jan 16, 2010 03:03:00 AM

Chris Hunter (ankle) came off the Warriors bench on Tuesday, going scoreless with two rebounds in seven minutes.

Golden State recently guaranteed Hunter's contract for the rest of the season, but that doesn't mean he'll play a significant role. Avoid him in all fantasy formats.
Wed, Jan 6, 2010 12:08:00 AM

Chris Hunter will stay with the Warriors for the rest of the season after the team waived Mikki Moore Monday, but is questionable for Tuesday with a sprained ankle.

He's not playing enough to make a fantasy impact, even when healthy.
