Scott Brooks said that Hasheem Thabeet could play a few more minutes in Game 3 on Saturday.
Well, Scott Brooks is getting a little desperate here. If he does play Thabeet more than the 13 minutes he played in Game 2, he's basically playing right into Lionel Hollins' hands. The Grizzlies thrive at a slower tempo and ranked 28th in the NBA in pace, so Brooks' logic is likely to try and limit the Grizzlies on the offensive glass. Brooks added that he will put Thabo Sefolosha on Mike Conley more, which does make sense. May 11 - 4:20 PM

Thabeet had missed two straight games with the ailment. However, much like his absence, Thabeet's return to the lineup is unlikely to affect all but the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Thabeet's absence goes unremarked in all but the deepest fantasy leagues, as he's averaging 2.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks.

Hasheem Thabeet started at center on Wednesday, scoring six points with two rebounds and one block in 11 minutes.

Thabeet ranks eighth in the league in points per shot attempt (minimum of 2.0 points per game), which isn’t hard to believe considering he’s made just two jumpers all year compared to 43 dunks, layups and tip-ins. He was also drafted before James Harden in the 2009 NBA Draft, so he'll need a miracle to shed the "bust" label.

Hasheem Thabeet will start in place of Kendrick Perkins against the Rockets on Wednesday night.

We haven't written about Thabeet since Nov. 27, which should tell you all you need to know about his season. He's averaging just 2.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11 minutes per game and hasn't scored or rebounded in double digits since Nov. 26. He'll likely return to a minimal role once Perkins is healthy.

Hasheem Thabeet - C - Thunder

Hasheem Thabeet scored a career-high 13 points with 10 rebounds and a block over 27 minutes in Monday's blowout win over the Bobcats.

Thabeet has graduated from embarrassment to well-below average this season, and this might be his best line of the season. We'll let you know if it's not, obviously.

Thabeet is playing at a 13.6 minutes-per-game clip this year, which would set a career high for the former No. 2 pick. Daniel Orton is active to take his place and neither have fantasy value.

Thabeet has shown flashes of confidence but he's still a long ways away from being a below-average NBA player. Daniel Orton was activated in his place and will have no fantasy value.

Hasheem Thabeet suffered a mild left ankle sprain in Thursday's game and has been cleared to return.

He tried to stay in the game and he was able to make it back to the locker room under his own power without much of a limp. It doesn't appear to be serious since he's already back on the bench. Thabeet is getting some playing time with 14.8 minutes per game entering tonight's game. He left with no points and two boards in 10 minutes.

Hasheem Thabeet hit 2-of-2 shots and 6-of-6 free throws on his way to tying a career high with 10 points, while adding five rebounds in Tuesday's easy win over the Raptors.

Thabeet's last 10-point game came in 2010 and while he could do it a few more times this season, he still isn't worth owning in any fantasy leagues.

Scott Brooks is "confident" that Hasheem Thabeet "can do a very good job" this season.

Brooks made the comments in praise of Thabeet explaining why the team felt comfortable trading Cole Aldrich in the James Harden deal, but it would be a huge surprise to see the former second overall pick appears on the fantasy radar. He averaged 5.6 points, 4.6 boards and 1.0 blocks in 16 minutes per game during the preseason.

Hasheem Thabeet called joining the Thunder "a great opportunity."

Every situation in the past doesn't really matter," he said. "The present is what I've got to face." Thabeet will have to prove that he's capable of contributing after looking extraordinarily raw to date in his career, and he'll certainly be on the team with a guaranteed salary of $1.2 million. Thabeet is third on the depth chart.
