Nick Calathes will remain overseas with Panathinakos despite drawing interest from the Kings.
He did say that he would like to play for coach Dave Joerger again, so maybe the Kings will try to sign him next summer. The Kings only have two point guards on their roster at the moment in Darren Collison and Isaiah Cousins, so expect them to pursue another PG soon. Jul 28 - 12:22 PM

Nick Calathes will remain in Greece playing for the Panathinakos this upcoming season.

Vlade Divac was trying to lure Calathes away from Europe to re-unite him with his former coach David Joerger, but Calathes is a star in Greece and he'd be relegated to a minimal bench role with the Kings. Sacramento's continued search for a backup point guard indicates they are not entirely comfortable using Isaiah Cousins as Darren Collison's primary reserve.

The Kings are trying to lure Nick Calathes from Greek Panathinaikos.

Calathes signed a three-year deal last summer, so he would have to get out of the last two years of his contract. The Kings really need a backup point guard, so this is just another indicator they're still in the market for one.

Nick Calathes has signed a three-year deal with Panathinaikos of Greece.

Calathes' deal will be for $7 million over three years and also includes an NBA out clause that expires on July 15. The 26-year-old will presumably shop his offer around the league until Thursday and will then join Panathinaikos if he can't find any takers. While Calathes could still end up stateside, fantasy owners can feel free to move on.

Nick Calathes' deal with Panathinaikos is not yet finalized, and he's still talking to NBA teams, a source told HoopsHype.

All signs point to Calathes heading overseas for a more lucrative long-term contract than he'll get stateside, but it appears he's still wrestling with his final decision.

Greek team Panathinaikos offered Nick Calathes a contract of around $6 million over three seasons.

It's still unknown what's going to happen here, but it sounds like he's headed overseas. The Grizzlies did give him a one-year qualifying offer, but he may opt to take more money away from the NBA.

Nick Calathes may be a restricted free agent after the Grizzlies gave him a $1.1 million qualifying offer on Tuesday.

The veteran PG denied reports that he's considering a return to Europe next season, and the Grizzlies' qualifying offer suggests that they hope he sticks around. As long as Mike Conley is healthy, however, Calathes wouldn't be an appetizing fantasy asset in Memphis.

Nick Calathes is being shopped overseas, according to international reporter David Pick.

The report adds his asking price is $3.5 million to leave the Grizzlies. Calathes denied reports last month that he has an offer from FC Barcelona and said it's "not true at all."

Nick Calathes denied reports that he is looking to leave the NBA and has an offer from FC Barcelona.

Updating a previous item, Calathes said the Spanish report is "not true at all" and added that, "the NBA is my first priority," the 26-year-old said. We'll keep a close eye on this one as Calathes has had success in Europe and may be looking for more minutes than the 14.4 per game he saw in Memphis last season.

Nick Calathes is reportedly looking to leave the NBA.

According to a report from Encestando, Calathes has a an offer from FC Barcelona. The 26-year-old has previously played in Greece and would end up with a larger role with Barcelona than the 14.4 minutes per game he saw in 2014-15. We'll keep an eye on this one, but Calathes will obviously lose all fantasy value if he winds up overseas next season.

Nick Calathes barely stepped on the court during Tuesday's road win, as Mike Conley (face) returned to the starting lineup and Beno Udrih served as the Grizzlies' primary backup PG.

Calathes struggled as a starter in Conley's absence, going scoreless with two assists vs. three turnovers in 21 minutes during Sunday's Game 1 defeat. Conley's left calf appeared to cramp up down the stretch, thrusting Calathes into the game momentarily, and we're not expecting him to play a substantial role in Game 3.

Nick Calathes started at PG on Sunday but he failed to score in 21 minutes, going 0-of-4 from the field and 0-of-2 at the FT line with one rebound, two assists, three steals and three turnovers.

Paging Mike Conley. The Warriors also held Beno Udrih to seven points and one assist in 19 minutes off the bench, while their own MVP point guard pitched in a game-high 22 points. It's a wildly lopsided matchup but Calathes, who played well in the first round, will need to have a short memory with Game 2 looming on Tuesday.

Nick Calathes will remain in the starting lineup for Sunday's Game 1 vs. the Warriors.

Calathes will split minutes with Beno Udrih at the point guard position with Mike Conley (face) unavailable for this one. However, he'll get a very tough matchup against Stephen Curry of the Warriors, so owners of Calathes should temper their expectations.

Nick Calathes drew another start in Game 5 vs. the Blazers on Wednesday, scoring six points on 3-of-10 shooting with four assists and four boards in 29 minutes.

Beno Udrih played just 15 minutes and clearly wasn't 100 percent, and Mike Conley (face) still has no timetable for a return. Calathes could potentially start the rest of the way for the Grizzlies, but he will have a very unfavorable matchup with the Grizzlies set to face Stephen Curry and the Warriors in the next round. However, if Calathes continues to flirt with 30 minutes of action, he would be an interesting option in daily leagues.

Nick Calathes scored 12 points in his first postseason start on Monday to go with three rebounds, two assists, three steals and four 3-pointers in 24 minutes.

He was 4-of-10 from the field and did a decent job on the defensive side. Beno Udrih wasn't at 100 percent and that may have been why Calathes drew the start. The pair will likely be looking at a close to a 50/50 split again in Game 5 on Wednesday.
