Omri Casspi (knee) is probable for Sunday's game against the Lakers.
He has missed the last six games due to his knee, so it's nice to see him close to returning to action. However, Casspi isn't a big part of the rotation, and will likely be eased into action upon his return. You can leave him on the wire. Dec 20 - 10:02 PM

Date:

Omri Casspi (knee) will not suit up for Thursday's game vs. the Bucks.

Ben McLemore and Derrick Williams will see some extended minutes with Casspi sidelined, with McLemore offering the most upside. The Kings don't play again until Sunday, so we'll be considering Casspi questionable for that one, although his status shouldn't matter to owners in standard leagues.

Dec 18 - 4:25 PM

Omri Casspi (knee) did not go through the contact portions of practice on Wednesday.

It sounds like he's out for Thursday against the Bucks. The Kings will likely use a little more Ben McLemore and Derrick Williams to help out Rudy Gay. Casspi is only worth owning in deep leagues, but could emerge should Gay have Achilles problems.
Dec 17 - 4:35 PM

Omri Casspi (knee) is officially listed as out for Tuesday's game vs. the Thunder.

This will be the fifth straight game that he will miss and there is no clear indication on when he will return to action. Casspi isn't a big part of the rotation and shouldn't be owned in most leagues. Derrick Williams will pick up some extra minutes Tuesday, but is only an option in deeper leagues.
Dec 16 - 8:36 PM

Omri Casspi (knee) is doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Thunder.

Derrick Williams will pick up more minutes from Casspi's absence and figures to benefit from the Kings' odd infatuation with uptempo offense, though we're skeptical about what that actually entails. Just keep an eye on Williams and Casspi hasn't been the greatest fantasy option, but he could theoretically benefit from an increase in pace. Heck, maybe one of them will be the cherry picker and revolutionize fantasy leagues.
Dec 15 - 9:29 PM

Omri Casspi (knee) will not play on Saturday night.

He was probable for the game, but had a setback. Casspi usually backs up Rudy Gay at small forward, but the Kings will look to Derrick Williams and Ben McLemore to help out a bit more tonight.
Dec 13 - 8:50 PM

Omri Casspi (knee) is expected to play on Saturday against the Pistons.

He went through practice on Friday after missing Thursday's game action. Casspi will back up Rudy Gay and could eventually have fantasy value should Gay need to miss time.
Dec 12 - 5:50 PM

Omri Casspi (knee) was on the court at Friday's practice with a brace on his left knee.

He needed an injection on Thursday and missed the game against the Rockets. Casspi is likely going to miss another game and the team will have to count on Ben McLemore and Derrick Williams a bit more. Nick Stauskas also helped with the minutes, but he's struggled badly.
Dec 12 - 5:13 PM

Omri Casspi (left knee) received a shot for the inflammation due to the contusion of his knee.

The injury is not considered serious, but it sounds like he's going to miss some time based on needing an injection. Derrick Williams has stepped up so far, but it's unlikely to matter much in fantasy leagues.
Dec 12 - 12:27 AM

Omri Casspi (left knee contusion) will not play against the Rockets on Thursday.

He won't get a revenge game against his former team and it's unclear how much time he'll miss. Knee contusions have occurred far too often this season and Casspi should be considered questionable for the weekend. Expect Derrick Williams to get more run at the three and perhaps Ben McLemore logs a few minutes there as well.
Dec 11 - 9:24 PM

Omri Casspi scored eight points on 2-of-4 shooting with two rebounds and two assists in 13 minutes on Friday.

With Rudy Gay back there is no reason to pay attention to Casspi in fantasy leagues.
Nov 29 - 2:09 AM

Omri Casspi scored 14 points against his former team in a loss to the Rockets on Wednesday with seven boards, two assists and two turnovers.

He scored 22 points on Tuesday and he could have another start coming his way with Rudy Gay (Achilles) up in the air for Friday against the Spurs. Casspi has a good rapport with the first unit, so he'll be worth using in fantasy leagues as long as Gay is out.
Nov 27 - 1:05 AM

Omri Casspi took over the Kings' starting SF job on Tuesday with Rudy Gay (Achilles) unavailable, scoring a season-high 22 points in a road win in New Orleans.

Casspi made one 3-pointer but made his living by sprinting the court and attacking the basket -- he was 9-of-14 from the field with only three shot attempts outside the paint. He added four rebounds, one assist and one steal without any turnovers, but Gay's day-to-day status makes Casspi a tricky guy to rely on for Wednesday's game vs. Houston.
Nov 25 - 11:46 PM

Omri Casspi made all five shots from the field and all four from the line for 14 points with one rebound and one steal against the Bulls on Thursday.

He played a handful of minutes as the stretch four tonight, but most of his playing time will come as Rudy Gay's backup. Casspi is only worth owning in deep leagues.
Nov 21 - 1:43 AM

Omri Casspi (back) returned to practice on Wednesday.

He missed Monday's preseason game with his back issue, which hasn't been an issue since 2011. Casspi will back up Rudy Gay and won't have much fantasy value.
