Following the Kings 129-118 win over the Bucks on Wednesday, George Karl hinted that Omri Casspi could be getting more consistent minutes in the Kings rotation.
"I think I need to keep Omri in with Rudy [Gay] as much as possible," said Karl. "It seems that combination really complements with size there and also the ability to find a mismatch situation that is beneficial to us." Casspi's minutes tend to trend up when DeMarcus Cousins (back) is sidelined, but if Karl wants to continue giving Casspi and Gay minutes together, Willie Cauley-Stein's playing time could suffer. It'll be interesting to see how Karl's rotations shake out once DMC is back on the court, but Omri is worth a speculative add in deep leagues after scoring 19 points during Wednesday's win. Omri Casspi scored 19 points with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Bucks on Wednesday.

He gets a ton of run at both forward spots and he benefited from DeMarcus Cousins (back) not playing tonight. Casspi put up mid-round value the last time Boogie had to miss games, so he's worth a look at any depth for owners seeking short-term value. Cousins won't be out long, though.
Nov 25 - 11:49 PM

Omri Casspi played 27 minutes off the bench on Monday with six points, five rebounds, three assists and one 3-pointer.

He played a ton of stretch four tonight, which could continue if DeMarcus Cousins (back, thigh) needs to miss time, Casspi had his best run of the season while Boogie was out, so he's worth a speculative add in 14-team leagues. Boogie shouldn't be out for long, though.
Nov 23 - 11:30 PM

Omri Casspi started the second half in place of Willie Cauley-Stein on Monday against the Hornets.

Kings head coach George Karl keeps rookie WCS on a very short leash, so don't read too much into this. Casspi is a favorite of Karl's, but his value is held in check when Rudy Gay is active.
Nov 23 - 8:31 PM

Omri Casspi scored 11 points off the bench on Saturday against the Magic, adding 11 rebounds, two assists, one block and one 3-pointer.

He played a lot of power forward tonight in what turned out to be a lot of small ball in this game. Casspi will be getting plenty of minutes regardless of role for as long as Rudy Gay (shoulder) is out. Gay is only day-to-day, so give Casspi a look if you're looking for some short-term value in the 60-90 range.
Nov 21 - 8:04 PM

Coach George Karl said the Kings will start three guards next to Willie Cauley-Stein and DeMarcus Cousins.

Interesting. This could be the coach playing mind games, but if he's telling the truth that would mean Omri Casspi is coming off the bench. Ben McLemore and Rajon Rondo will almost certainly be two of the three guards while Marco Belinelli or Darren Collison will be the third guard -- probably Collison. Still, Casspi has some good value along with a hot B-Mac.
Nov 21 - 3:51 PM

Omri Casspi scored 16 points in the starting lineup on Thursday with six rebounds, one block and three 3-pointers in 39 minutes.

He was 7-of-11 from the field and missed all four shots from the line. Casspi started at the three because DeMarcus Cousins was suspended, but he would likely stick in the starting lineup if Rudy Gay (shoulder) needs to miss time. He's a very solid speculative add in standard leagues while we await the word of Gay's prognosis.
Nov 19 - 10:17 PM

Omri Casspi will start at small forward on Thursday against the Heat.

The Kings used a small-ball lineup in three of their four games without DeMarcus Cousins and the one exception was against the Memphis Grizzlies -- a big team. Casspi should see a ton of minutes with Rudy Gay logging lots of his playing time at power forward tonight, making him a nice option in DFS.
Nov 19 - 7:06 PM

George Karl said that he's planning on starting Omri Casspi at small forward for Thursday's game against the Heat.

Karl is planning on sliding Rudy Gay over to power forward and inserting Kosta Koufos into the starting center slot, which allows Casspi to start at small forward. Casspi is pretty hit-or-miss, but he'll see enough opportunity tonight with DeMarcus Cousins (suspension) on the sidelines to warrant a punt play in daily leagues.
Nov 19 - 6:24 PM

Omri Casspi continued to impress during Sunday's comeback victory, notching 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, one 3-pointer, five rebounds, two assists and one block in 26 minutes.

Casspi came into this game averaging career highs in FG% (49.4%), 3-pointers (1.3), rebounds (6.0) and steals (1.0). He's getting plenty of open looks thanks to the attention DeMarcus Cousins demands, as well as Rajon Rondo's passing, and is worth a look for deep-league production.
Nov 15 - 11:50 PM

Omri Casspi made 2-of-9 from the field for five points with three rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes against the Nets on Friday.

He was coming in with a nice head of steam, so this was a mild letdown. Casspi usually steps up while Rudy Gay (illness) misses time, so he probably hurt a lot of DFS owners tonight. His nice start in November had a lot to do with DeMarcus Cousins missing time, so he's more of a drop in most cases.
Nov 14 - 4:19 AM

Omri Casspi (shoulder) will play on Saturday vs. the Warriors.

The Kings have several injuries tonight, so Casspi should be one of the first players off the bench and it wouldn't be surprising to see him approach 30 minutes. His role will be inconsistent when the Kings get some bodies back, so he is better suited for deeper leagues.
Nov 7 - 10:02 PM

Omri Casspi (shoulder) is probable to play on Saturday.

The Kings will need all the help they can get with only one healthy point guard on the roster. Casspi should be good to go ti minutes close to 30.
Nov 7 - 6:00 PM

Omri Casspi scored 22 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 8-of-10 shots (2-of-3 from deep, 4-of-5 from the line) with four rebounds and two steals in 33 minutes.

Both the Kings and Rockets used small lineups and Vegas had the over/under at 216, so this was an environment that has been known to spark a guy like Casspi. Consistency has been lacking for him this season and DeMarcus Cousins will return as soon as Monday, so there's not a lot to hang onto. Pick him up as a plug-and-play at your own risk this weekend.
Nov 7 - 2:56 AM

Omri Casspi missed a practice last Wednesday with a sore knee, but he returned to score 16 points with two 3-pointers, seven rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes on Saturday.

Casspi's excellent game silences any concern about his knee, but his backup role behind Rudy Gay all but ensures that he won't have standard-league relevance. Among other flaws in Casspi's fantasy game, he's never averaged more than 1.5 assists, 0.7 steals or 0.3 blocks in his six-year NBA career.
