Omri Casspi scored 17 points off the bench on Saturday vs. the Grizzlies, shooting 6-of-12 from the field.
Rudy Gay returned from an eye injury which pushed Casspi back to the bench, but he should still see minutes in the upper 20s on a regular basis. This was his best game in a while and he also added seven boards, one assist and one 3-pointer, and he could be in line for more touches if DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) misses any action. Omri Casspi made another start on Thursday against the Pelicans with eight points, six rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes.

He just hasn't been right since his back injury from earlier this month. Casspi usually lights it up when the Kings aren't healthy, but this game and a 10-point dud on Tuesday sans Rudy Gay (eye) are disappointing. He's still worth owning unless there is a hot free agent out there.
Jan 29 - 12:06 AM

Omri Casspi scored 10 points with eight boards and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes vs. the Blazers on Tuesday.

Casspi started in place of Rudy Gay (eye), but the Kings didn't really need him down the stretch because the game turned into a blowout. Casspi has slowed down considerably since he returned from his back injury, but he is still worth owning in standard leagues for his 3-point shooting and ability to rebound. Gay is officially listed as day-to-day.
Jan 27 - 12:34 AM

Omri Casspi will start on Tuesday vs. the Blazers.

Rudy Gay (eye) will not play Tuesday, but he is listed as day-to-day moving forward. Casspi scored 13 points with eight boards and three 3-pointers on Monday vs. the Hornets, so he needs to be owned in standard leagues.
Jan 26 - 10:10 PM

Omri Casspi returned to the bench for Monday's game vs. the Hornets, scoring 13 points with eight boards, one assist, one block and three 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

Rudy Gay returned from a heel injury Monday, but he left the game late with a scratched eye and could end up sitting out on Tuesday vs. the Blazers. Casspi usually gets minutes in the high 20s when he comes off the bench, but he could be looking at a significant boost in playing time on Tuesday. Even if Gay plays, Casspi is still worth deploying in standard leagues.
Jan 26 - 2:01 AM

Omri Casspi scored eight points with five rebounds, one assist and one turnover in 28 minutes against the Pacers on Saturday.

He hasn't been very good without Rudy Gay (heel), but there is nothing to worry about going forward. Casspi has seventh-round value on the year and should be around that output going forward.
Jan 24 - 1:11 AM

Omri Casspi played 38 minutes in a start for Rudy Gay (heel) on Thursday against the Hawks, scoring 13 points with five rebounds, two assists, five steals and three 3-pointers.

The Kings had 13 steals tonight and Casspi capitalized the most on the Hawks making so many careless mistakes. Gay's injury is only a day-to-day issue, but Casspi should still be owned in all leagues.
Jan 22 - 1:16 AM

Omri Casspi will start in place of Rudy Gay (heel) on Thursday against the Hawks.

It is an obvious call. Casspi hasn't hit his stride since his back injury, but he is coming off 30 minutes on Wednesday and should be in the upper 30s. You'll want to start him in all leagues tonight.
Jan 21 - 8:36 PM

Omri Casspi played 30 minutes off the bench on Wednesday, finishing with nine points on 3-of-11 shooting, one 3-pointer, nine rebounds and one block.

The Kings came in averaging 114.8 points per game in January, second only to the Warriors, but they secured this win by limiting the Lakers to just 35.6 percent shooting. Casspi's line would have looked better if he'd made more than 1-of-7 shots from downtown, and the minutes are there, so he's still a guy to hold in standard leagues.
Jan 21 - 1:14 AM

Omri Casspi scored 17 points with four boards, one steal and five 3-pointers in a win over the Clippers on Saturday.

He is still coming off the bench behind Willie Cauley-Stein, but it's obvious that he should see around 30 minutes on a nightly basis regardless of whether or not he starts. Casspi was shooting 46.4 percent from beyond the arc prior to Saturday, so this was no fluke and he should be owned in all leagues.
Jan 17 - 1:39 AM

Omri Casspi played 26 minutes off the bench against the Jazz on Thursday with 10 points, three rebounds and one 3-pointer.

Coach George Karl said he liked Casspi off the bench because he is better at adjusting. He's still likely going to play starter's minutes once he gets his legs back from missing three games due to a back injury. Casspi should be owned in all leagues.
Jan 15 - 1:24 AM

Omri Casspi (back) returned to action on Wednesday, making 3-of-8 shots to finish with seven points, one 3-pointer, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 29 minutes.

He came off the bench with Quincy Acy sticking in the starting lineup. Casspi can still be productive as a reserve, and he could easily leapfrog Acy in the near future -- Acy played a mere nine minutes and was benched in favor of Kosta Koufos in the second half. Hang onto Casspi while we watch how George Karl manages his rotations next week.
Jan 14 - 1:52 AM

Omri Casspi (back) will come off the bench against the Pelicans on Wednesday.

He should still be able to log minutes in the mid 20s tonight, but the Kings may want to be careful because his back has been an issue for a long time. He should be owned in standard leagues.
Jan 13 - 8:52 PM

Omri Casspi (back) was a full participant during Tuesday's practice, and is on track to play Wednesday vs. the Pelicans.

Head coach George Karl said he was unsure as to who will start on Wednesday, but he fully expects Casspi to be back in the lineup tomorrow night. Casspi is having himself a career-year under the tutelage of Karl with averages of 12.8 points, 6.7 boards, 1.9 three-pointers and 0.8 steals per game on 51.5 percent shooting from the field, which has been good enough for mid-round value in standard leagues.
Jan 12 - 4:07 PM

Omri Casspi (back) is expected to play on Wednesday.

He did do some work at practice on Monday and said he will see how his back feels tomorrow. Casspi was probable on Saturday according to earlier injury reports on Friday, but he was downgraded to doubtful and did not play. Casspi should be owned in standard leagues.
