Earl Clark said Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak told him a lot of teams will be interested in Clark, who will be a restricted free agent.
Clark said he wants to return to the Lakers, but as we saw last summer, restricted free agents can be tricky to retain if there's interest elsewhere. Clark has noted he would take less money to remain a Laker but said Monday he wants to be featured in the offense more, which might be tough with Pau Gasol in front of him next season. Clark's offseason saga should be an interesting one to follow and he could see a nice bump in fantasy value depending on where he lands. Apr 29 - 3:22 PM

Earl Clark, an unrestricted free agent, said that he's willing to take less money to remain with the Lakers.

It's one thing for Clark to say that now and another thing for him to stick true to his word when the offers start rolling in, and the Lakers won't overpay to retain him. If he takes a team-friendly deal, there is a chance he'll be back, but that's a big if at the moment.
Apr 29 - 8:13 AM

Earl Clark was involved in a minor traffic accident following Tuesday's shootaround.

Clark was not injured and his availability for Tuesday's game against the Hornets is not in doubt. However, Metta World Peace's shockingly early return from knee surgery will cramp Clark's minutes.
Apr 9 - 6:29 PM

Earl Clark came off the bench for 11 points, three boards, one assist, one block and two 3-pointers in 25 minutes against the Clippers on Sunday.

He has been productive in his previous three games with at least one block, one steal and one 3-pointer in each of those games. Clark taking 10 shots and getting 25 minutes isn't necessarily a bad thing and he's worth owning in standard leagues for his upcoming four-game week.
Apr 7 - 6:10 PM

Earl Clark scored 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds, one steal and one block in 37 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Clark is back on the radar after a major slowdown last month. Give him a look if you need a big man.
Apr 6 - 2:38 AM

Earl Clark exploded in a win against the Mavericks on Tuesday with 17 points, 12 boards, one assist, one steal, five blocks and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes.

His five blocks were a career high and he had his double-double while the game was in the third quarter. Clark has been invisible and he failed to score in three of his last four games, so this came out of nowhere. While it's nice to see Clark finally show up after hitting the wall, he's likely going to be a secondary player now that Pau Gasol is healthy. Antawn Jamison watched from the sidelines while Clark was hot, scoring just four points on 2-of-7 shooting. Jamison looks to be the better player to own over Clark.
Apr 3 - 1:53 AM

Earl Clark will see more minutes as the backup small forward with Pau Gasol (foot) healthy.

Mike D'Antoni will mix and match rotations, but Clark will still be a major part of what the Lakers do given his versatility and length. Those facts combined with an inconsistent Lakers bench should keep Clark relevant in deeper leagues, but standard owners should weigh their options. Clark should have a size advantage over many small forwards, but he's not going to get the same looks on offense he did when the Lakers were banged up.
Mar 22 - 2:01 PM

Earl Clark said that he's "cool" with coming off the bench when Pau Gasol returns from his foot injury.

"It's cool with me," man, Clark said. "I just want to play. I never got caught up in starting." It's a refreshing answer from Clark, who has tailed off since the All-Star break with averages of 7.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks on 41.6 percent shooting. Mike D'Antoni still plans to feature Clark "heavily" in the rotation despite the move to the bench. "I think I deserve that," Clark said.
Mar 19 - 8:01 AM

Earl Clark played on Friday despite an ankle injury suffered Wednesday and scored eight points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds, one steal and one block over 28 minutes against the Pacers.

It's an improvement for Clark and good news that he was able to play, but with Pau Gasol looking at Monday for a return to the starting lineup his arrow is pointing in the wrong direction.
Mar 15 - 11:08 PM

Earl Clark (ankle) is expected to play against the Pacers on Friday.

Clark left Wednesday's game with a right ankle issue, and although his ankle is still sore, he went through shootaround and is good to go for Friday's tilt against Indiana.
Mar 15 - 12:22 PM

Earl Clark (right ankle) said he'll be ready to play against the Pacers on Friday.

He has taken a major dip and had fallen out of favor with Mike D'Antoni, but the Lakers will have to give him some of Kobe Bryant's 38.3 minutes per game. Clark will likely get some more minutes at small forward and this could be a jolt to his dwindling value. To be clear, Jodie Meeks is a preferred pickup and Clark is worth a look in deeper leagues. He finished Wednesday's game with four points and three boards in 13 minutes.
Mar 13 - 11:04 PM

Earl Clark suffered a sprained right ankle in Wednesday's game against the Hawks and is not expected to return.

X-rays were negative on the ankle. He's lost his luster and Mike D'Antoni has been playing Antawn Jamison and Jodie Meeks in place of Clark. He can be cut in just about all leagues with Pau Gasol's return on the horizon.
Mar 13 - 9:32 PM

Earl Clark hit 2-of-5 shots in 21 minutes for six points, four rebounds, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in Tuesday's win at Orlando.

With news that Pau Gasol is on the verge of returning from his foot injury, Clark's fantasy value is about to take a hit, just in time for the Lakers' two-game week starting on Monday.
Mar 12 - 9:52 PM

Earl Clark shot 5-of-13 from the field for 11 points with five boards and one 3-pointer in Sunday's 90-81 win over the Bulls.

He only played 23 minutes. It hasn't been pretty for Clark and his offensive holes are becoming very apparent lately. He has moved himself out of ownership in some leagues and the Lakers don't have a great schedule going forward. On a non-fantasy note, the Lakers are over .500 and are likely headed to the playoffs.
Mar 10 - 7:12 PM

Earl Clark's free-fall continued on Friday against the Raptors, as he played just 18 minutes and finished with two points, two rebounds and two assists.

Clark has really fallen off the map lately and we wouldn't blame owners for dropping him for a hot free agent. Just keep in mind that the Lakers are shallow, so keep an eye on Clark from the wire to see if he can pick it up.
