Cavs waive Austin Daye, D.J. Stephens and Jack Cooley.

Daye is always good for a random big game once per season and he'll probably be on a 10-day deal soon.

Cavs sign G/F Austin Daye.

He's best known for being a fantasy tease back in his Pistons days, but Daye did sneak in a 22-point game on Jan. 10 last season. He probably won't make the Cavs.

Hawks release G/F Austin Daye.

This move comes as the Hawks attempt to open up cap space to fit Paul Millsap and Justin Holiday. The 27-year-old only averaged 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 10.3 minutes per game last season, so he'll be a non-factor in fantasy leagues even if he is able to hook on with another NBA team.

Austin Daye will be on the inactive list for Game 1 against the Nets on Sunday.

Daye likely wouldn't have left the bench even if he were active, so there aren't any fantasy implications with this news.

Austin Daye officially signed a two-year deal with the Hawks on Saturday.

Daye is averaging just 3.0 points and 1.4 boards for the Hawks in a limited role off the bench, so there are no fantasy implications here. Daye gives the Hawks some added depth, but it's safe to leave him on the wire in just about all leagues.

Updating a previous report, Austin Daye is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Hawks on Saturday.

The deal will be for the remainder of this season, and next year. However, he's averaging just 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds through 6.6 minutes of action with the Hawks this season, so he's not a fantasy option in any league.

The Hawks are reportedly expected to sign Austin Daye for the remainder of the 2014-15 season.

Daye will provide the Hawks with some emergency backcourt depth, but with averages of just 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds per game with Atlanta, he's a non-option in all fantasy leagues. Leave him on the wire.

Austin Daye has officially been signed to a second 10-day contract on Wednesday.

He has seen just nine minutes of action in two appearances for the Hawks, and there is no indication that his role will grow in the near future. Leave Daye on the wire.

The Atlanta Hawks will sign Austin Daye to a second 10-day contract on Wednesday.

Daye has played just nine total minutes in two games with the Hawks, so this move is purely for bench-depth purposes. While Daye could get some run with Mike Scott (toe) out, his fantasy value is limited to the deepest of leagues.

The Hawks have signed G/F Austin Daye to a 10-day contract on Sunday.

The Hawks will be without Mike Scott (toe) for at least a month, so Daye cold potentially carve out a decent role off the bench for the Hawks. That being said, Daye probably won't see big minutes right out of the gate, meaning owners in deeper leagues should use a wait-and-see approach.

The Hawks are reportedly planning on signing G/F Austin Daye out of the NBA D-League.

The Hawks recently lost Mike Scott to a toe injury and let Jarell Eddie's 10-day contract expire, so they could use the added depth. That being said, Daye likely wouldn't be in the rotation in Atlanta right out of the gate, so there is no need to look his way in most leagues. Daye will reportedly sign the contract on Sunday, so we will let you know when the deal becomes official.

Austin Daye will play for the Erie Bayhawks in the D-League.

It's a Magic affiliate and Daye will likely wind up on a 10-day deal with an NBA club at some point this season. Fantasy owners can keep him on the wire.

The Spurs have waived Austin Daye on Saturday in order to make room for JaMychal Green.

Daye has only averaged 10.3 minutes per game this season, and the Spurs probably just wanted to get a good look at Green after his impressive showings for the Austin Spurs in the NBA D-League. Daye can be cut across the board while Green will have a lot of work to do before popping up on the radar in most leagues.
Sat, Jan 17, 2015 12:05:00 PM

Austin Daye followed up Saturday's double-double with a mere five points and two rebounds in another start for the short-handed Spurs on Tuesday.

Kawhi Leonard (hand) and Marco Belinelli (groin) were both unavailable, yet Daye played only seven minutes before ceding the court to Cory Joseph, Manu Ginobili and other reserves. Daye's flash-in-the-pan production is meaningless on a season-long basis, and fantasy owners are better off ignoring his rare outbursts.
