The Spurs have waived Austin Daye on Saturday in order to make room for JaMychal Green.
Daye has only averaged 10.3 minutes per game this season, and the Spurs probably just wanted to get a good look at Green after his impressive showings for the Austin Spurs in the NBA D-League. Daye can be cut across the board while Green will have a lot of work to do before popping up on the radar in most leagues. Jan 17 - 12:05 PM

Austin Daye followed up Saturday's double-double with a mere five points and two rebounds in another start for the short-handed Spurs on Tuesday.

Kawhi Leonard (hand) and Marco Belinelli (groin) were both unavailable, yet Daye played only seven minutes before ceding the court to Cory Joseph, Manu Ginobili and other reserves. Daye's flash-in-the-pan production is meaningless on a season-long basis, and fantasy owners are better off ignoring his rare outbursts.

Austin Daye had one of his patented out-of-nowhere games against the Wolves on Saturday with 22 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and four 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

He has one of these games just about every year, and almost every time he comes back with nothing the next time out. Daye did not play in any of his previous four games, so this is one of his more surprising big games. This is Gregg Popovich at his finest.

Austin Daye double-doubled against the Wolves on Friday with 13 points, 11 boards, three assists and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

He actually handled the ball a lot down the stretch thanks to garbage time and Cory Joseph (ankle) going down. The Spurs will likely work Manu GInobili in as the point guard behind Tony Parker for as long as Joseph is out. There's little reason to add Daye in anything but an extremely deep league.

Austin Daye started at center in Friday's loss to the Suns, and he managed six points on 2-of-7 shooting with two rebounds, two assists, two steals and two threes in 19 minutes.

You read that right, center. Pop could get away with that against a smaller Suns squad and Daye will need to do this and more many times before we pay any attention.

Austin Daye is starting for Boris Diaw on Friday against the Suns.

Pop is doing his thing early and it looks like he's preparing for a track meet to start the game. Daye is still nowhere near close to being a fantasy option and probably won't be seeing more than 20 minutes.

Austin Daye scored a team-high 17 points against the Suns on Thursday, adding six rebounds, one turnover and three 3-pointers in 20 minutes.

With coach Gregg Popovich not even in Phoenix, he still manage to "pop" his team with several guys not even traveling. Daye has no fantasy value.

The Spurs are not expected to waive forward Austin Daye.

Daye has gotten way more pub than his production deserves, but theoretically sticking around San Antonio is a good thing for his long-term outlook. He's still way off the fantasy radar.

Austin Daye started for Tim Duncan on Friday night and had two points, one rebound, one assist, two steals and one block in 14 minutes.

Coach Gregg Popovich has transformed a lot of players, but he couldn't get it done with Daye. He has a lot of potential to put up big lines, but he's rarely been able to come through for fantasy owners since his days with the Pistons. He can be ignored in all leagues.

Austin Daye will start in place of Tim Duncan on Friday night vs. the Suns.

It makes sense because Channing Frye is not exactly an imposing threat in the paint, so this isn't really coach Gregg Popovich being a mad scientist. Daye has been quiet all season with the exception of a big game vs. Philly, so it would take a big slice of crazy to start him in fantasy leagues.

Austin Daye returned from both a lat strain and strep throat in Sunday's win vs. the Grizzlies, scoring two points in six minutes off the bench.

Daye made 1-of-6 shots and he played the fewest minutes of the 13 Spurs who were in Gregg Popovich's rotation. The 6'11" small forward has had a pair of nice games since being traded to San Antonio but he shouldn't be owned in any fantasy leagues.

Austin Daye (lat strain) will play against the Grizzlies on Sunday.

He was actually able to play on Thursday night, but he had a case of strep throat and sat out. Daye is only going to have fantasy value when the the Spurs get a heavy dose of being Popped.

Austin Daye (lat strain) will not play against the Warriors on Wednesday.

He had a big game back on Mar. 22 when the Spurs rested Danny Green, but he's been quiet since. Daye can be left on the wire in all leagues and the severity of his injury is not yet known.

Austin Daye scored a season-high 22 points vs. the Sixers on Monday with six boards, one assist, two steals, two blocks and six 3-pointers in 29 minutes.

This might be a new low for the Sixers as Daye matched the second-highest scoring output of his career. Daye scored just 14 points this entire season, so this has fluke written all over it. We've talked about him for years as a guy with a high ceiling, but there's no way fantasy owners can use him unless they know Danny Green is going to sit out.
Tue, Mar 25, 2014 01:43:00 AM

Austin Daye knocked down a pair of 3-pointers at the end of Thursday's win vs. the Heat, marking his first points scored with the Spurs.

He came in for a few minutes during garbage time and won't have a significant spot in the rotation unless injuries hit hard. "I'm just happy to be here, honestly," Daye said. "I think it's a place I can grow and develop as a player." The fifth-year forward has a career 40.9 percent shooting average and he's unlikely to ever surface as a reliable fantasy option.
