Gerald Henderson did not score in nine minutes on Monday against the Spurs, adding two rebounds, one assist and one block.
He's currently behind C.J. McCollum, Allen Crabbe and Moe Harkless for minutes on the wing. The Blazers will likely be looking to trade Henderson with his contract ending after this season. His upside is way too low to add in almost any league. Nov 17 - 12:28 AM

Gerald Henderson was scoreless in seven minutes off the bench vs. Charlotte on Sunday.

He had one rebound, two turnovers and one personal foul. Henderson's minutes were in the teens in his first two games back from hip surgery, but there was never any reason to think he'd emerge with fantasy value. He's a non-factor while C.J. McCollum (16 points, four assists) is healthy.
Nov 15 - 7:53 PM

Gerald Henderson scored five points with one rebound and one 3-pointer in 13 minutes on Friday.

Hey, at least he hit a 3-pointer. Henderson didn't check in at all in the first and third quarters. He wasn't used in any of the top-four lineup combos tonight and he's a bad fit with the starters, especially with less spacing. Leave him on the wire.
Nov 14 - 2:27 AM

Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post reports that Gerald Henderson (hip) could be trade bait at the deadline.

Now that he's healthy, Henderson could end up becoming a trade asset for the rebuilding Blazers if they fall out of contention. In the meantime, Henderson will provide fantasy owners with limited upside as he doesn't do much on the stat sheet besides score.
Nov 12 - 9:59 AM

Gerald Henderson (hip) scored 12 points during his Blazers debut on Wednesday, adding two rebounds in 18 minutes.

He was 6-of-10 from the field, but didn't add anything else on the stat sheet. That lack of diversity is probably going to be the biggest problem for Henderson's fantasy value, especially since he won't be asked to distribute the ball and he's not a great 3-point shooter. He could have some increased value with Meyers Leonard (shoulder) out, but the low ceiling makes him an unappealing pickup in standard leagues.
Nov 12 - 1:40 AM

Gerald Henderson (hip) is active for Wednesday night against the Spurs.

It's still unknown if he will even play or if he'll even be in the rotation, but he should probably get some minutes. If he is, it'll affect Allen Crabbe and not C.J. McCollum. Leave Henderson on the wire in most leagues.
Nov 11 - 8:48 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) is probable for Wednesday's game against the Spurs.

Henderson will likely be eased back into the rotation and he wasn't worth owning in standard leagues last season in Charlotte despite starting, so he isn't going to be an attractive option with C.J. McCollum playing so well. Leave Henderson on the wire.
Nov 10 - 7:29 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) will remain sidelined for Sunday's matchup with the Pistons.

He's getting close to a return, and it'll be interesting to see how he's integrated into the rotation once he's cleared to play. For now, he's best suited for the waiver wire in standard leagues.
Nov 8 - 2:30 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) said that he's doing everything that the team is doing during practice, and while he wouldn't give a definitive timetable for his return, he said he will be back "soon."

Head coach Terry Stotts said that Henderson has been "a little rusty" during practices, but he hasn't shown any negative effects with regards to the hip surgery he underwent during the offseason, and he's steadily progressing. Hendo will likely play in a sixth man role for Portland this season, but until he's actually back on the basketball court, he belongs on the waiver wire in standard leagues.
Nov 4 - 1:32 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) went through some 4-on-4 halfcourt work following Tuesday's practice.

With no clear return date in site for Henderson, he belongs on the waiver wire in most leagues.
Nov 3 - 5:14 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) has been ruled out for Wednesday's regular-season opener against New Orleans.

Henderson remains without a clear timetable to return, and he still hasn't done anything more than non-contact work at practice. While he's out Allen Crabbe will likely pick up some extra minutes, and C.J. McCollum will have zero competition for the starting two-guard position in Portland. However, even upon Henderson's return, it's unlikely he affects McCollum's fantasy value.
Oct 27 - 4:11 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) will not play in the Blazers' preseason finale against the Clippers on Thursday.

He's unlikely for Portland's regular-season opener, and it's unclear what his role will be for the Trail Blazers this season. As one of the older guys on a young, rebuilding roster, it's tough to get too excited about drafting Hendo.
Oct 22 - 3:35 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) is unlikely to play in the Blazers' regular season opener.

Still limited to just non-contact drills in practice, Henderson clearly still has a long ways to go before he's ready to play competitive, NBA basketball. With the Blazers going young and Hendo coming off a major surgery, there isn't a lot of upside in drafting him to your fantasy team.

Oct 19 - 1:56 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) did some 5-on-0 work at practice on Wednesday.

He doesn't appear to be cleared for contact yet. Henderson is losing ground for minutes because Al-Farouq Aminu has been better than expected and obviously C.J. McCollum is pulling away as the No. 2 scoring option. Hendo isn't a great fantasy target for his low upside.
Oct 14 - 4:26 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) said he is improving "every day" from his hip surgery.

"Whatever the schedule is, I feel like I'm ahead of schedule," Henderson said. "But you've got to take it day-by-day and ... I'm going to take the right amount of time to get back to where I can help the team." He doesn't have a timetable and said he can't even shoot a pullup jumper right now. His upside isn't high enough to draft in most leagues anyway.
