Damian Lillard attributes Gerald Henderson's recent success to him being healthy.
"I think he's just healthy," Lillard said. "He was coming off hip surgery, so it took some time for him to get in shape. He missed training camp. He had to get in shape, he had to get his rhythm back, he had to get his feel back, get comfortable with our sets, comfortable being out there with the guys. I think the last couple of weeks, you're starting to see him get comfortable. He's finally back." Henderson is averaging 13.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in February, but his expiring contract could draw some interest at the trade deadline. Feb 7 - 9:13 AM

Date:

Gerald Henderson scored 14 points with nine rebounds, one block and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes on Tuesday vs. the Bucks.

He has scored in double digits in four out of his last five games, but his recent spike in playing time could be because the Blazers are trying to boost his value prior to the trade deadline. Regardless, Henderson doesn't have much upside and his role with minutes in the lower 20s is not appealing, so he can be left on the wire in most leagues.
Feb 3 - 12:59 AM

Gerald Henderson scored 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting in Tuesday's win over the Kings.

He added four boards, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer, and he has now played 21 or more minutes in two straight games. To be clear, the Blazers are probably just showcasing him for a trade and his game doesn't translate to fantasy very well, so he can be left on the wire in most leagues. We will let you know if he has another performance like this again, though.
Jan 27 - 12:50 AM

Gerald Henderson chipped in 19 points, five rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes vs. the Nuggets on Sunday, making 6-of-14 FGs and 6-of-8 FTs in the Blazers' road win.

Henderson hadn't scored double-digit points in nearly two weeks, and this random outburst vs. a poor defense doesn't alter his outlook. It's nice to see the veteran healthy and productive, but he shouldn't budge from the waiver wire.
Jan 4 - 12:41 AM

Gerald Henderson said that he knows he hasn't played well this season, but he still thinks he has a lot to offer to the Blazers.

"I look at myself … I know how to play,’’ Henderson said. "And it will turn around at some point … but I feel like I can help the team, obviously more.’’ Henderson is basically the third-string shooting guard in Portland, and with one year left on his contract the Blazers could look to deal him at the deadline. Leave Hendo on the wire.

Jan 1 - 9:17 AM

Gerald Henderson scored 19 points in 21 minutes off the bench on Monday vs. the Pelicans.

Henderson has been in and out of the rotation and this was the first time that he scored in double digits since Dec. 1, so this smells like a fluke. Portland might be showcasing him for a potential trade, but there's no reason to believe that he will be a consistent part of the rotation moving forward, especially with the way that Allen Crabbe has been playing.

Gerald Henderson played nine minutes on Thursday with four points, one steal and one foul.

Tuesday's 20-point game looked like a fluke and it was. Henderson is not a part of the team's future and has even less value while Allen Crabbe is hot.
Fri, Dec 4, 2015 02:03:00 AM

Gerald Henderson scored 20 points on Tuesday vs. the Mavericks with four boards, one assist and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes.

This game has fluke written all over it as this was just the second time that he has scored in double digits this season. He has very little upside and his minutes will be inconsistent, so there's no reason to look his way in most leagues.

Gerald Henderson did not score in nine minutes on Monday against the Spurs, adding two rebounds, one assist and one block.

He's currently behind C.J. McCollum, Allen Crabbe and Moe Harkless for minutes on the wing. The Blazers will likely be looking to trade Henderson with his contract ending after this season. His upside is way too low to add in almost any league.
Tue, Nov 17, 2015 12:28:00 AM

Gerald Henderson was scoreless in seven minutes off the bench vs. Charlotte on Sunday.

He had one rebound, two turnovers and one personal foul. Henderson's minutes were in the teens in his first two games back from hip surgery, but there was never any reason to think he'd emerge with fantasy value. He's a non-factor while C.J. McCollum (16 points, four assists) is healthy.

Gerald Henderson scored five points with one rebound and one 3-pointer in 13 minutes on Friday.

Hey, at least he hit a 3-pointer. Henderson didn't check in at all in the first and third quarters. He wasn't used in any of the top-four lineup combos tonight and he's a bad fit with the starters, especially with less spacing. Leave him on the wire.

Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post reports that Gerald Henderson (hip) could be trade bait at the deadline.

Now that he's healthy, Henderson could end up becoming a trade asset for the rebuilding Blazers if they fall out of contention. In the meantime, Henderson will provide fantasy owners with limited upside as he doesn't do much on the stat sheet besides score.
Thu, Nov 12, 2015 09:59:00 AM

Gerald Henderson (hip) scored 12 points during his Blazers debut on Wednesday, adding two rebounds in 18 minutes.

He was 6-of-10 from the field, but didn't add anything else on the stat sheet. That lack of diversity is probably going to be the biggest problem for Henderson's fantasy value, especially since he won't be asked to distribute the ball and he's not a great 3-point shooter. He could have some increased value with Meyers Leonard (shoulder) out, but the low ceiling makes him an unappealing pickup in standard leagues.

Gerald Henderson (hip) is active for Wednesday night against the Spurs.

It's still unknown if he will even play or if he'll even be in the rotation, but he should probably get some minutes. If he is, it'll affect Allen Crabbe and not C.J. McCollum. Leave Henderson on the wire in most leagues.
Wed, Nov 11, 2015 08:48:00 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) is probable for Wednesday's game against the Spurs.

Henderson will likely be eased back into the rotation and he wasn't worth owning in standard leagues last season in Charlotte despite starting, so he isn't going to be an attractive option with C.J. McCollum playing so well. Leave Henderson on the wire.
