Gerald Henderson is expected to play between 18-20 minutes on Saturday vs. Detroit.

The Sixers have brought Hendo along slowly in order to preserve him for the regular season, so this is just the next step in their plan.

Gerald Henderson (hip) was limited in practice on Friday.

He did individualized load management today. The 76ers are fully expected to start Henderson at shooting guard this year, but his minutes will likely be in the low 20s. On top of that, he'll likely see his playing time decrease as the 76ers lose games and give more time to their younger guys.
Oct 14 - 2:31 PM

Gerald Henderson (old) will be limited to just 12 minutes in Saturday's preseason game vs. Cleveland.

Don't mind us: We're just trying to practice our DNP-Old jokes before Gregg Popovich makes it our reality. As for the Sixers, this is just a maintenance plan with Hendo to ensure he's ready to go for the regular season.
Oct 8 - 3:34 PM

Gerald Henderson (hip) will be in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the Wizards.

T.J. McConnell, Robert Covington, Dario Saric and Joel Embiid will be joining Henderson in the starting five, but both Henderson and Embiid will have their minutes capped at 12. Henderson is more of a deep league target given that he doesn't do much aside from score.

Gerald Henderson (hip) was able to take part in individual drills on Wednesday.

Henderson also took part in some five-on-five action and looks like he should be able to suit up for preseason action soon. Henderson should see decent run to start the season, but doesn't stand out in any fantasy categories. He can be left undrafted in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 6 - 9:58 AM

Gerald Henderson (hip) will be on a minutes limit for Tuesday's preseason game against the Celtics.

Henderson underwent hip surgery back in July of 2015, so this would be just another example of the 76ers organization exercising extreme caution with their players. The hip shouldn't be an issue once the season is underway, but Henderson's role will likely slowly fade in Philly as the losses begin to pile up, making him an unappealing target in most settings.
Oct 4 - 5:50 PM

Gerald Henderson said he will take on a leadership role for the 76ers.

"We [the Blazers] weren’t as young," Henderson said, "but being one of the guys with more experience, you are put in a position to help the younger guys. Teach them what you know, how to be a pro. Different things like that." Henderson is the clear favorite to start at SG and should hold onto his job unless the 76ers tank at the end of the season. He's a career 31.9 percent shooter from deep and doesn't have much upside, so he's more of a deep-league guy.
Sep 30 - 1:03 PM

Gerald Henderson said he'll be comfortable stepping into a leadership role playing for a young 76ers team.

"I always felt like on all levels I’ve been a leader," said Henderson, 28. "So that won’t be difficult for me. The biggest things I bring are my leadership, my defense, and my energy and stuff that every night they can expect from me." Henderson will provide with a much-needed veteran presence in the Philadelphia locker room, and he should receive his fair share of minutes as the unquestioned starting two-guard, but his only real contribution to fantasy teams will be his scoring.
Jul 19 - 4:25 PM

Gerald Henderson officially signed a two-year, $18 million deal with the 76ers on Saturday.

He called signing with the 76ers a "dream come true" and said that no other team "could offer the feelings I have towards the organization." Henderson will get plenty of minutes in Philly and projects to be the starting shooting guard, but he doesn't have much upside in standard leagues.
Jul 10 - 9:21 AM

Gerald Henderson has agreed to a deal with the 76ers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

Henderson's deal is for $18 million over two years, according to Woj and will provide the Sixers with a veteran swingman. While Henderson can help the Sixers roster, he won't be much of a factor outside of deeper fantasy leagues.
Jul 5 - 11:32 AM

Unrestricted free agent Gerald Henderson said that seven or eight teams have expressed interest in his services.

Per Hendo, the Blazers are among those teams. It's unclear what the market currently looks like for the veteran swingman, but the other dominos should begin to fall once Kevin Durant makes his free agent decision.
Jul 4 - 11:05 AM

Gerald Henderson said that he would "absolutely" like to return to the Blazers as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Henderson said that at this point in his career, earning significant minutes on a winning team is much more important to him than starting, so it'll be interesting to see if him and the Blazers can work out a deal. However, with Meyers Leonard, Moe Harkless and Allen Crabbe all set to hit the open market this offseason, Henderson probably won't be a major priority for Portland during the early goings of free agency.
May 12 - 5:07 PM

Gerald Henderson started the second half on Saturday against the Warriors, finishing with eight points, two assists and one rebound in 23 minutes.

This has a little to do with Moe Harkless (hip) not being 100 percent. Henderson with the other four starters has been a positive combination for the Blazers in this series, which is saying something after they were blown out in the first two. With Harkless expected to play, Henderson is a gamble in DFS.
May 7 - 11:33 PM

Gerald Henderson started the second half for Moe Harkless.

Harkless isn't having his best game and the lineup data so far shows Henderson for Harkless was having better success so far in this series. If Hendo can keep it going, he might earn more run in Game 4.
