Doc Rivers haped praise on Terrence Williams following the Celtics Game 5 win on Wednesday.
"He controlled the ball," Rivers said. "he can handle pressure and bring it up the floor. He got guys into our stuff. He allowed us to be organized. Everybody told me he can't defend but he's proving everyone wrong." Williams has flashed solid play for the Celtics at various moments since he was signed, and there is a good chance he'll stick with the team next season as a backup point guard. Avery Bradley and Jason Terry are not point guards. May 2 - 10:23 AM

Terrence Williams said his broken small finger will not prevent him from playing.

Williams has a broken "small finger" on his right hand, but T-Will said the team would have to cut his hand off to prevent him from being able to play. He'll throw some tape on it and should be fine the rest of the way, but it's worth noting the injury is to his shooting hand.

Doc Rivers heaped praise on Terrence Williams' recent play for the Celtics.

"I think Terrence is playing just terrific basketball for us right now," he said. "He’s kind of taking hold of his position. He understands that he’s a point guard, maybe for the first time in his life, and he wants to be that." The Celtics are using T-Will strictly as a point guard, but Williams tweeted after Wednesday's win that he dislocated his finger so it's not clear if he'll be forced to miss any time.
Apr 4 - 9:20 AM

Terrence Williams and Jason Terry each scored 14 points off the bench for the short-handed Celtics, while Jordan Crawford (also a reserve) had 11 in a loss to the Timberwolves on Monday.

T-Will's 14 points were a season high, and he added six boards, five assists and two 3-pointers on 6-of-10 shooting in 22 minutes, while Terry added 14 points, three assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes off the bench. Crawford had 11 points, six boards, five assists and a 3-pointer in 28 minutes off the pine, while starter Courtney Lee hit 3-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer for just seven points. Even with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce out, the Celtics guards are going to be hit or miss, although Williams appears to be heating up for the short-handed Celtics. Despite tonight's performance, we'd still be leery about starting any of these players going forward.

Celtics swingman Terrence Williams tied his season-high with nine points in 22 minutes on Saturday.

Courtney Lee's absence with a sprained ankle opened up extra minutes for T-Will, who doesn't deserve consideration in average leagues. Both he and fellow reserve Chris Wilcox went 4-of-4 from the field tonight, a rare burst of bench efficiency which was squandered in Boston's fourth straight loss.
Mar 23 - 11:29 PM

Terrence Williams' recent downturn in playing time is due to Avery Bradley playing well, according to Doc Rivers.

The Celtics view Williams as a point guard, and with Bradley playing well, there just isn't a real opportunity for T-Will right now. He had three turnovers in less than 14 minutes in Tuesday's blowout loss.
Mar 13 - 8:21 AM

Terrence Williams will have his 2013/14 salary fully guaranteed if he makes the Celtics out of training camp.

The Celtics inked Williams for the rest of the season as well as conditionally for next season, and now we know that he'll stick with the club as long as he can make the roster out of camp.
Mar 4 - 9:21 AM

Celtics signed G/F Terrence Williams for the rest of the season.

Williams also gets a "conditional" deal for 2013-14, likely some kind of team option. The talented yet unproductive swingman is already on his fourth NBA team in four seasons.
Mar 1 - 3:18 PM

Doc Rivers expects the Celtics to sign Terrence Williams to a second 10-day contract.

T-Will is averaging 4.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 15 minutes per game and has done a nice enough job helping out at the point guard spot.
Feb 28 - 12:05 PM

Doc Rivers views Terrence Williams as a point guard.

"He's more of a point guard than anything else," he said. Williams said that he just likes "to have the ball in my hands," and T-Will spent two weeks working out the Celtics in the offseason to prove that he had legitimate point guard skills.
Feb 25 - 9:07 AM

Terrence Williams played 25 minutes against the Suns on Friday, scoring nine points with four rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer.

He looked pretty good in his best NBA game since April of last year. Garbage time was a big factor here, so there's no reason to grab T-Willie in almost any league.
Feb 23 - 1:51 AM

Boston Celtics announce signing of G/F Terrence Williams to a 10-day contract.

Williams is expected to be available to play Wednesday night against the Lakers. The Celtics were waiting for paperwork from Williams' former Chinese team to clear before announcing the deal. He doesn't have a ton of fantasy value now, but his potential makes him at least worth watching, especially in deeper leagues.

Feb 20 - 2:39 PM

Terrence Williams has been cleared to play for the Celtics and is eligible to play against the Lakers on Wednesday, a source told the Boston Globe.

Williams wasn't allowed to play on Tuesday due to paperwork, but that issue has been resolved and he'll wear No. 55 for Boston.
Feb 20 - 12:22 PM

Terrence Williams has not received clearance from his former Chinese team and he will not play Tuesday.

He is with the team, but he will need clearance in writing. Williams could help Boston at point guard, shooting guard and small forward, so he could become a part of their rotation. While he doesn't really have value yet, he's shown flashes of upside and is on the radar in very deep leagues.
Feb 19 - 7:39 PM

Terrence Williams is with the Celtics at in shootaround on Tuesday, but he is not participating.

Williams could get his first taste of action with Boston on Tuesday against the Nuggets, but he'll need to be cleared in order to do so and that's unlikely to happen.
