GM David Kahn defended his decision to draft Jonny Flynn sixth overall in the 2009 draft.
Flynn, who did not play in the NBA this season despite being just 24 years old, is still trying to get back to the league. Kahn said the team knew Ricky Rubio wouldn't come over in his first year, which may or may not be true, and according to Kahn, "the scouts had Flynn as the No. 1 point guard." Jonathan Givony of Draft Express reports that Rubio had come right away to Minny had the team not drafted Flynn. Kahn also noted that Flynn had a preexisting condition with his hip that he didn't reveal that damaged his NBA career. May 3 - 9:50 AM

The Bobcats are expected to target Jonny Flynn to help fill out their roster before the end of the season, according to Peter Vecsey.

Flynn spent part of this year playing in Australia and reportedly drew interest from the Lakers and Grizzlies at some point this season. Despite being the No. 6 overall pick just five years ago, Flynn is no more than an end-of-the-bench player at this point in the NBA.

ESPN's Marc Stein reports that the Lakers could consider Jonny Flynn or Mike James in addition to Delonte West.

Flynn is playing in Australia while James is working out and waiting for an opportunity, but someone like Eddie House is an option as well. Stein adds that the Lakers would like to trade for Jose Calderon, but the Raptors want to include Calderon in a bigger trade if possible. Any PG going to the Lakers is going to have to navigate some choppy waters.

Jonny Flynn has signed with the Melbourne Tigers in Australia.

The No. 6 overall pick of the 2009 draft couldn't even find a bench to latch onto. It's not a promising sign for Flynn's NBA future, but he's young enough where he could resurface eventually.

Pistons waived G Jonny Flynn.

Flynn, like Terrence Williams, never really stood a chance of making the final roster. Perhaps David Kahn, who drafted Flynn with a top 10 pick and has always had an affinity for PGs, will kick his tires.

Jonny Flynn has agreed to a non-guaranteed contract with the Pistons.

Flynn, the No. 6 overall pick of the 2009 draft, couldn't land a guaranteed deal after playing with three teams in his first three seasons. The Pistons have 15 guaranteed contracts, so Flynn will have to make a sizable impression in training camp to stick around. He won't have any fantasy value even if he makes the team.

Unrestricted free agent Jonny Flynn worked out for the Cavs on Monday.

Per the Akron Beacon Journal, there "remains strong interest on both sides." Flynn is now reportedly healthy and fully over a hip injury that had hampered him, and after working out for the Cavs, Bulls, and Hawks, Flynn reportedly has more stops to make. He is not believed to be close to making a decision.

The Hawks recently worked out PG Jonny Flynn and he's scheduled to meet with the Cavs on Wednesday and the Bulls on Friday.

With Jeff Teague, Lou Williams and Devin Harris on board, the Hawks don't seem to make sense for Flynn, but the Cavs are lacking depth and might be a viable landing spot. The Bulls might be looking at him as an early-year solution due to Derrick Rose's injury.

Unrestricted free agent Jonny Flynn has "identified six teams" that he'd like to sign with before next season.

We find it slightly humorous that Flynn thinks he can dictate his own market considering how bad he was last season, but it appears that's exactly what he's doing. Flynn names the Lakers, Trail Blazers, Suns, Raptors, Bulls and Nets as "potential destinations."

The Cavaliers and unrestricted FA Jonny Flynn share mutual interest, according to Cavs beat writer Jason Lloyd.

Flynn would give Cleveland an affordable backup PG behind Kyrie Irving, likely competing for minutes with Manny Harris (whose unguaranteed $854k salary seems affordable enough to get picked up).

Jonny Flynn scored 18 points on 6-of-14 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds and 11 assists in 34 minutes off the bench in Thursday's loss to the Jazz.

The Jazz rested most of their guys and the standard late-season disclaimer applies, but Flynn probably did enough during his time in Portland to at least keep folks interested in his services. Nolan Smith started and played 16 points with seven assists, two steals, and a three, J.J. Hickson went for 20 and nine with two steals and two blocks, Wesley Matthews hit 4-of-18 shots for 14 points with three treys, and Luke Babbitt lost out on the 3-point crown with a 1-of-8 mark from deep to finish with seven points.

Jonny Flynn drew the start for Monday's game against the Suns, scoring four points on 2-of-5 shooting with two rebounds, six assists, and one steal in 24 minutes.

Nolan Smith scored 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting with three rebounds, five assists, and a three in 33 minutes, winning the position battle at least for tonight. The duo will likely cap each other's value, and Smith is the player to own between the two. It has been reported that Raymond Felton could sit out the rest of the year so the youngsters can develop.

Jonny Flynn had 10 points and five assists off the bench in Tuesday's loss.

He got some run with Raymond Felton tending to his sick grandmother, but shouldn't have much fantasy value going forward.

Jonny Flynn is expected to get some backup point guard minutes in Tuesday's game against the Mavs.

Even with Raymond Felton (personal) out, Flynn isn't getting consideration to start. He's behind Jamal Crawford and Nolan Smith on the depth chart.

Jonny Flynn and Hasheem Thabeet may not play Tuesday due to a lack of practice time.

Both ex-Rockets are available, but they've only had a shootaround with their new teammates. The Blazers have a full practice scheduled for Wednesday.
