Patty Mills scored three points with three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.
That's two disappointing games in a row for Mills, so maybe he has a rest day coming. There is a chance Dejounte Murray could make it back in the regular season, so that would make a Mills rest day more likely. Apr 8 - 10:47 PM

Patty Mills struggled in a start on Friday vs. the Mavericks with two points on 1-of-7 shooting.

The Spurs were resting seven players and Mills averaged 13.6 points, 6.0 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 2.7 triples in seven previous starts this season, so he was a huge flop. He missed all four of his 3-pointers with five assists and one rebound, and even though Tony Parker (DNP-CD) and Dejounte Murray (groin) didn't play, Bryn Forbes came out of nowhere and scored 27 points. That gave coach Gregg Popovich a reason to take it easy on Mills, so expect him to bounce back in his next outing. He could very easily be rested in one of the final three games of the season, though.
Apr 7 - 11:31 PM

Patty Mills will start on Friday vs. the Mavericks.

The Spurs are resting six players on Friday, so Mills looks like a nice DFS play. In seven starts this season, Mills has posted averages of 13.6 points, 6.0 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 2.7 triples.
Apr 7 - 7:14 PM

Patty Mills returned to action on Tuesday vs. the Grizzlies, scoring 10 points on 3-of-7 shooting.

He was a healthy DNP-CD on Sunday with no warning from the Spurs, but with Manu Ginobili picking up a quad injury tonight, that means Mills should be active on Wednesday vs. the Lakers. The Spurs will likely rest a couple of studs in that one, so Mills could be a strong play. He added four rebounds, one assist, two steals and two triples in 25 minutes.
Apr 5 - 12:36 AM

Patty Mills was a healthy DNP-CD on Sunday.

Mills was in uniform but he never left the bench, as Gregg Popovich opted to get him some rest. This is a perpetual risk for Spurs veterans, but the lack of advance notice today makes it especially frustrating. Expect him to be back in action vs. Memphis on Tuesday.
Apr 2 - 6:53 PM

Patty Mills returned to the bench on Saturday vs. the Grizzlies and scored six points on 2-of-8 shooting with two rebounds, two assists and two triples in 22 minutes.

Tony Parker (back) didn't exactly light it up in his return with four points in 25 minutes, and there's a good chance he's rested on Sunday vs. the Kings. If you picked up Mills recently, it makes sense to ride him for at least one more game with a favorable matchup on Sunday.
Mar 19 - 12:16 AM

Patty Mills earned another start on Wednesday and finished with 13 points, six assists, three rebounds and three 3-pointers in 37 minutes of action.

Dejounte Murray (groin) and Tony Parker (back) were out again tonight, gifting Mills all the minutes he could handle. He struggled to contain Damian Lillard, who dropped 36 points, and could find his role sharply reduced if Murray and/or Parker are cleared to play vs. Memphis on Saturday.
Mar 16 - 12:48 AM

Patty Mills scored 15 points with nine assists, two rebounds, two steals and three triples in Monday's win over the Hawks.

Unlike Saturday's blowout win over the Warriors, the Spurs gave Mills all the minutes he could handle tonight (37). He finished 5-of-13 from the field and 2-of-3 from the line, and he didn't turn the ball over once. If Tony Parker continues to miss time with his stiff back, Mills will continue to be a solid option in all formats. The Spurs also have three more games on the schedule this week and there are plenty of touches up for grabs with LaMarcus Aldridge (heart) on the shelf.
Mar 14 - 12:56 AM

Patty Mills scored 21 points with two rebounds, four assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 21 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

The Spurs didn't even need him to play much in the second half. Mills was on fire early on with five treys before half to put this game out of reach. Mills should have some extra shots coming his way with Kawhi Leonard (concussion) and LaMarcus Aldridge (heart) out right now. He's still only a borderline player to own in standard leagues.
Mar 12 - 12:54 AM

Patty Mills will start against the Warriors on Saturday.

He basically doesn't have a backup for tonight with Tony Parker (back) and Dejounte Murray (groin) out for this one. His backup should be a combination of Bryn Forbes and Jonathon Simmons, but Mills should be looking at 30-plus minutes. He'll be a popular DFS play against the second unit of the Warriors. It's not a bad idea to pick him up in standard leagues, assuming you have something to cut.
Mar 11 - 6:57 PM

Patty Mills posted his first double-double of the season vs. Sacramento on Wednesday, scoring 17 points with 10 assists, four 3-pointers, one rebound and one steal in a thrilling comeback win.

Mills sank 6-of-9 shots and he didn't turn the ball over in 27 minutes. That earned him some rare praise from Gregg Popovich, who said that he was "pretty special" in tonight's game. Kings coach Dave Joerger agreed, saying, "Patty Mills is a heck of a player. He is a starter on a lot of teams, so he was a tough cover." Tonight's eruption aside, Mills hasn't been worth holding outside of 14-team leagues this season.
Mar 9 - 1:10 AM

Patty Mills scored 15 points with two rebounds, two assists, two steals and four 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Pelicans on Friday.

He was huge down the stretch with two clutch threes in overtime. Mills has been clutch all year with a 65 true shooting percentage in clutch situations on a 20.1 usage rate in those 33 clutch minutes (final five minutes with point differential less than six). Mills is still only a borderline guy in standard leagues.
Mar 4 - 2:45 AM

Patty Mills started the third quarter of Wednesday's game, but finished with just two points on 1-of-7 shooting, four assists and two rebounds in 27 minutes.

The Spurs came in four games behind the Warriors, who lost Kevin Durant for at least four weeks on Tuesday, and they trimmed the deficit to 3.5 with a thrilling home win tonight. Mills split the PG minutes with Dejounte Murray tonight and Tony Parker (quad) is just day-to-day, so there's not much to be gleaned from tonight's rotation.
Mar 2 - 1:41 AM

Patty Mills scored nine points on 4-of-8 shooting Sunday, to go with one 3-pointer, two rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one turnover in 17 minutes off the bench.

Mills is worth owning as a 3-point specialist in deep leagues, but he doesn’t bring enough to the other areas of the box score to be considered a worthwhile standard-league asset. Tony Parker put up eight points, nine dimes and three boards in 20 minutes, and he can remain on the waiver wire just about everywhere.
Feb 26 - 6:05 PM

Patty Mills dropped in 13 points, six assists, two boards and two steals in 18 minutes vs. Orlando on Wednesday.

The Spurs were rolling over the Magic early, so Tony Parker played only 23 minutes and no starter logged more than Dewayne Dedmon (29). Kyle Anderson, Jonathon Simmons and Davis Bertans all saw extra minutes tonight, but this game doesn't mean much for player evaluation purposes.
