The Suns waived Gani Lawal on Friday.

Lawal's contract was unguaranteed, and this was an easy decision given the Suns' depth at PF -- Channing Frye, Hakim Warrick and rookie Markieff Morris. He played two minutes in his entire Suns career.

Gani Lawal has signed a contract to play with Zastal in Poland.

Lawal is coming off of reconstructive knee surgery, but it's clearly not a concern as he was able to pass a physical and sign a deal overseas. It will be interesting to see if the Suns give him a shot to crack the rotation this season, as he's one player that the team got absolutely nothing from in 2010-11.

Suns forward Gani Lawal (knee surgery) is now able to jump and perform limited basketball activities.

"My shot's getting a lot better," Lawal said. "I'm working on that 15-footer, especially with the pick-and-roll with Steve (Nash). That'll set me up for going to the cup." He says he's adding strength and explosion to his game, but the selection of rookie Markieff Morris indicates that Phoenix isn't sold on Lawal.

Gani Lawal (knee surgery) recently began running and shooting.

Lawal went under the knife five months ago, so his rehab is on schedule. He'll likely be able to play in full 5-on-5 action by August, meaning he should be ready for camp. Regardless, the 2010 second-round pick has an uphill battle to crack the rotation.

Suns F Gani Lawal (knee surgery) is nearing a return to basketball activity.

Lawal, the Suns' second-round pick last year, tore his ACL on Jan. 6. He's been running on a treadmill as he passes the four-month mark in his rehab. Lawal is no lock to make the Suns' roster out of camp this year as his contract is only partially guaranteed.

Suns rookie Gani Lawal will have his right knee examined on Thursday.

Lawal apparently injured himself without contact during practice, which is never a good sign. We should soon have an update, though his status will not affect fantasy leagues.

The Suns officially signed F Gani Lawal on Monday.

He's pretty far down the depth chart, although he should make the team's final roster, where he'll see scrap minutes after Earl Clark gets his run each night. Lawal was taken in the second round with the 46th overall pick.
