Darren Collison had a mixed game in Friday's loss to the Suns, scoring 19 points with four treys but just two assists, one rebound and three passes into the fifth row at Sleep Train in Sacramento.
Collison struggled to contain penetration and the Kings' defense was pretty bad, allowing the Suns to hit 14-of-33 percent (42.4%) from deep. Offensively, he hit a number of big shots and along with Rudy Gay (16 points, four rebounds, five assists, two threes, 7-of-15 FGs) they kept this game from getting out of hand. The Kings will likely struggle as long as their coaching situation remains in flux, but the fantasy value of their key guys will remain intact. Dec 27 - 5:08 AM

Darren Collison struggled in a loss to the Thunder on Tuesday, finishing with six points on 2-of-8 shooting, while adding five boards, three assists, two steals and one block in 26 minutes.

After scoring just three points on Saturday, he was terrible once again and was absolutely eaten alive by Russell Westbrook all game. Collison turned the ball over three times and failed to get his teammates involved in the game. However, he doesn't have a lot of competition for playing time, and he should be owned in all leagues as long as he keeps the starting gig. Consider benching him until he turns it around.
Dec 17 - 1:51 AM

Darren Collison put up a dud against the Pistons on Saturday, making 1-of-10 from the field for three points with three rebounds, seven assists, one steal, two blocks and one 3-pointer.

He scored 22 or more points in three of his previous four in one of his hottest offensive stretches since his rookie season. Collison's scoring numbers have gone up recently, but they'll head back down soon. He's a low-end No. 2 fantasy point guard in standard leagues.
Dec 14 - 12:28 AM

Darren Collison was aggressive in transition during a loss to the Rockets on Thursday, scoring 24 points with three rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two 3-pointers.

The Kings had 27 fast-break points tonight and tried to beat the Rockets at their own game. Collision has seen his shots increase to 16.6 per game over his last five, averaging 21.6 points, 3.6 boards, 5.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.4 triples in that span. His usage will certainly take a dip upon the return of DeMarcus Cousins (illness), so his owners can look to sell high.
Dec 12 - 1:46 AM

Darren Collison scored a season-high 26 points vs. the Lakers on Tuesday, making 11-of-18 shots with two 3-pointers, four rebounds, six assists and zero turnovers in 38 minutes.

This was Collison's fifth 20-point performance of the season, three of which occurred with DeMarcus Cousins (viral meningitis) out of commission. Fantasy owners might not have a better sell-high moment, but it's not as though he'll drop off a cliff once Cousins returns -- Collison has provided mid-round value all season with averages of 16.3 points, 0.8 triples, 3.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists and an impressive 1.6 steals per game.
Dec 10 - 1:13 AM

Darren Collison dropped 22 points in a loss to the Magic on Saturday, adding four assists, three boards and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

He has now scored 20 or more points in his last two games, and it appears that he may finally be back on track. He has had a rough time over the past week and was even benched at times in favor of Ramon Sessions, but it seems like Collison has regained the trust of coach Mike Malone and owners shouldn't be too concerned. To be clear, he is still a must-own player in almost all leagues.
Dec 7 - 1:23 AM

Darren Collison scored 20 points on 8-of-19 shooting (no threes) with six rebounds, six assists and four steals in Friday's sloppy overtime win against the Pacers.

Collison had been in the doghouse a bit with Mike Malone for two games, but got back on track against a depleted Pacers team tonight. The Kings have the same depth issues they had last year, so anytime one of their Big Three is out as DeMarcus Cousins (virus) was tonight -- expect big numbers from the other two.
Dec 6 - 3:09 AM

Darren Collison played just 19 minutes on Tuesday, finishing with four points on 0-of-5 shooting to go with three rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Ramon Sessions was used down the stretch for the Kings but this was more than likely a fluke. Collison was dreadful all night but deserves a pass considering he has been playing at a top-50 level in fantasy leagues this season. His owners shouldn't panic and we expect him to bounce back against the Pacers on Friday.
Dec 3 - 1:20 AM

Darren Collison (quad) is probable to face the Grizzlies on Sunday.

He played his usual 35 minutes in his return to the lineup on Friday, so Collison should be good to go. He's been great so far this season and his owners can pencil him in as a fantasy starter against Mike Conley.
Nov 30 - 2:24 AM

Darren Collison (quad) played in Friday's loss to the Spurs, scoring 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, two assists and one block over 35 minutes.

Mike Malone wasn't happy with how Collison was handled by Tony Parker on the defensive side, and offensively the Kings had to rely on a lot of one-on-one play to keep the game close. While it won't go down as Collison's greatest game, he still remains a must-start guy in fantasy lineups.
Nov 29 - 2:21 AM

Darren Collison is starting against the Spurs on Friday.

The Kings continue to not update their probable players until after the tip, which has become very annoying. Collison returns from a two-game absence and we'll let you know how he does tonight.
Nov 28 - 8:27 PM

Darren Collison (quad) is now being listed as probable for Friday's game vs. the Spurs.

Collison is just dealing with a bruised quad, so it wouldn't be shocking if he's able to give it a go tonight. With Collsion likely to play, Ramon Sessions can be cut in nearly all leagues. Collison put up 19 points on 54.5 percent shooting from the field during his last outing vs. San Antonio to go with five assists and two steals, so if he plays, he's looking like a must-start guy.
Nov 28 - 7:32 PM

Darren Collison (quad) is being listed on the active roster for Friday's game, but remains questionable for Friday's game vs. the Spurs.

Head coach Mike Malone is optimistic that Collison will be able to give it a go tonight, but plugged-in beat reporter Jason Jones doesn't expect there to be an official update until roughly 45 minutes prior to tip-off. If Collison is unable to go, Ramon Sessions will draw another start at point guard, but he's not a very attractive option going up against a tough Spurs defense. Stay tuned.
Nov 28 - 7:08 PM

Darren Collison (quad) is questionable to face the Spurs on Friday.

He has a bruise to his quad, which isn't usually an injury that costs a player a week of action. Collison has missed two games and Ramon Sessions has been a bit underwhelming in the starting lineup. DC's fantasy owners will want to check back on Friday.
Nov 27 - 9:15 PM

Darren Collison (quad) will not play against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Like about 20 other NBA players, Collison is dealing with a leg contusion. He missed Tuesday night, but chances are he will be able to play on Friday. Ramon Session was solid against the Pelicans on Tuesday with 15 points, three rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes. He gets a nice matchup against Isaiah Canaan and is worth a look in most leagues for short-term value.
