Darren Collison made 5-of-13 from the field for 15 points with four rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday.
Not much analysis needed on Collison here. His fantasy owners can thank their lucky stars he wasn't traded because he should be putting up big numbers as the top offensive weapon for the Kings going forward. He should flirt with top-50 value the rest of the way. Feb 24 - 1:40 AM

The Kings are "holding firm" on their asking price of a first-round pick for Darren Collison, according to's David Aldridge.

On Wednesday, general manager Vlade Divac told Collison he won't be traded. The sense around the league is Collison will be traded, but we'll see who softens their stance. If Collison is gone, the Kings will likely sign a 10-day guy to back up Ty Lawson.
Feb 23 - 12:06 PM

Darren Collison said general manager Vlade Divac told him he doesn't plan to trade him at the deadline.

To be clear, this doesn't exactly mean much with the Kings going into a full sell mode following the Boogie Cousins deal. Several reports say he is as good as gone, which would obviously cripple his fantasy value. If he can stay with Sacramento, Collison could flirt with early-round value. For what it's worth, Collison has a 26.7 usage rate when he's not on the court with Boogie compared to 18.2 with him.
Feb 22 - 2:30 PM

According to Chris Mannix of The Vertical, Darren Collison, Ben McLemore and Arron Afflalo are all "available" with the deadline looming.

The Kings moved on from DeMarcus Cousins on Sunday which signaled the beginning of a very long rebuild. Collison is set to become a free agent this summer and the Kings probably aren't confident about their ability to re-sign him, so moving him now for a draft pick makes sense before he walks for nothing. His owners will be hoping that he lands in a favorable spot, but a move would likely hurt his fantasy value. Ty Lawson is the big winner here if the Kings find a new home for Collison, unless of course the Kings bring in a young PG.
Feb 20 - 9:40 AM

Darren Collison hit 5-of-12 shots and a 3-pointer for 13 points, five rebounds, eight assists and five turnovers in Tuesday's 97-96 win over the Lakers.

He played 40 minutes, but Boogie Cousins was amped for this game and shot it about every time he touched it, limiting Collison's shots in the process. Ty Lawson was out with his adductor strain and any time he's in street clothes, Collison is a viable fantasy play. He just didn't have a big game tonight. If Lawson plays on Wednesday, fading Collison is probably the way to go.
Feb 15 - 1:37 AM

Darren Collison hit 7-of-16 shots for 20 points with eight assists, six rebounds, three steals and two 3-pointers in 41 minutes on Sunday against the Pelicans.

Collison played big minutes once again and has now seen a two percent boost in usage over his last five games. During that stretch, he has averaged 38.4 minutes, 20 points, five assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. Collison should continue to thrive so long as Ty Lawson (adductor) is sidelined. The Kings’ next game is on Tuesday against the Lakers, who are yielding the fifth most fantasy points per game to point guards.
Feb 12 - 11:48 PM

Darren Collison scored 22 points and hit the game-winning layup with 3.5 seconds remaining in Friday's 108-107 win over the Hawks.

The Kings outscored the Hawks 34-23 in the fourth quarter and came all the way back from a 22-point deficit. Collison logged 44 minutes with Ty Lawson (groin) watching from the sidelines, shooting 8-of-16 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line with four assists, three rebounds, two steals and two triples with just one turnover. If Lawson misses more time, Collison should have another strong game vs. the Pelicans on Sunday -- New Orleans is allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.
Feb 11 - 1:18 AM

Darren Collison led the Kings to an impressive 108-92 win vs. the Celtics on Wednesday, scoring 26 points on 12-of-21 shooting with two 3-pointers, five assists, one rebound and four steals.

DC committed just two turnovers in 38 minutes and he played admirable defense vs. red hot Isaiah Thomas, resulting in what is probably his best fantasy line of the season. He's averaging 19.3 points in February, propelling him to mid-round value for 8-cat and 9-cat, and he'll be leaned on even more if Ty Lawson's hamstring injury costs him any games.
Feb 9 - 2:01 AM

The Kings have reportedly been active in the trade market, and there's a growing sense that they could move Darren Collison and Kosta Koufos at the deadline.

Kings' GM firmly denied that the Kings are shopping DeMarcus Cousins on Monday, but it does seem likely that they will make a trade to try and help bolster the roster around DMC. Collison is in a pretty good spot for value as Sacramento's starting point guard, but he'd likely be a reserve on most teams, so his value would likely take a hit with a trade. Koufos already isn't worth owning, and that won't change based on the name across his jersey.
Feb 7 - 4:39 PM

Darren Collison scored five points on 2-of-10 shooting in Tuesday's loss the Rockets, adding four assists, two rebounds, one steal and one triple in 26 minutes.

Welcome to Patrick Beverley's world, Mr. Collison. He couldn't find his shot tonight, but his fantasy owners will be relieved to know that Ty Lawson (zero points in 12 minutes) didn't have much success either. Collison has posted two duds in a row despite looking strong for most of January, but he should be able to bounce back on Friday vs. the Suns -- the Suns allow the sixth most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.
Jan 31 - 11:07 PM

Darren Collison struggled in Monday's loss to the 76ers with eight points on 3-of-7 shooting.

Collison was praised by his teammates and coaches over the weekend for his "aggressive" play recently with an average of 15.3 points in January, but he was anything but aggressive tonight. He logged 24 minutes and added just two assists and one steal, and he split the PG minutes down the middle with Ty Lawson. Coach Dave Joerger is not afraid to bench him when he's not rolling, and while he's worth owning in standard leagues, he's going to be prone to duds. He should see a lot of Patrick Beverley on Tuesday vs. Houston, so bouncing back won't be easy.
Jan 30 - 8:44 PM

Kings head coach Dave Joerger and Darren Collison's teammates have urged him to keep being aggressive.

"Coach [Dave Joerger] has talked to me – he’s told me to be a little more aggressive," Collison said. "The coaching staff has told me to be a little more aggressive, and I’m telling myself to be a little more aggressive, and it’s starting to pay off." Collison is averaging 19.5 points over his last four games and the Kings are 3-1 in that span, so clearly it's working. DeMarcus Cousins said the Kings are a better team when Collison is looking for his shot, so expect this trend to continue with Rudy Gay (Achilles) out for the season. Expect another great performance on Monday vs. the 76ers.
Jan 30 - 10:09 AM

Darren Collison scored 17 points with two assists, one block and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

He may actually be the biggest winner from the Rudy Gay (Achilles). In his last five, Collison has averaged 17.2 points, 2.8 boards, 3.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.2 treys on 56.9 percent from the field and perfect foul shooting on nine total attempts. He might be that top 50-75 player his fantasy owners were hoping for going forward.
Jan 28 - 10:17 PM

Darren Collison matched his season-high 26 points in a win over the Pacers on Friday, adding four rebounds, five assists, three steals and four 3-pointers in 46 minutes.

He looks like he's back with a 23-point game coming on Wednesday and 30 minutes per game. Collison had already proved he was worth owning in standard leagues before this, averaging 14.3 points, 2.3 boards, 3.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.5 treys on 53.3 percent from the field and 92.0 percent from the line in his previous January games. Collison has fourth-round value this month.
Jan 28 - 12:28 AM

Darren Collison looked great on Wednesday, making 8-of-14 shots to finish with 23 points, three 3-pointers, five assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block.

Collison averaged just 26.0 minutes in his previous three games, and he was held to 12 or fewer points in four straight. It's been a trying season for DC and his fantasy owners, so hopefully this will be the start of a strong, sustained run of value.
