Darren Collison scored 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting with two assists, one rebound, one steal and three triples in 32 minutes against the Jazz on Saturday.
Ty Lawson's role is diminishing and Collison's is growing -- he's played 30 or more minutes in four straight games, averaging 15.8 points, 3.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.8 3-pointers in that span. He's trending in the right direction and should finish strong as the impending free agent makes his case for a new contract this summer. Dec 11 - 1:00 AM

Darren Collison started again Monday, but hit just 2-of-6 shots for six points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in 32 minutes of a 101-95 overtime loss to the Wizards.

He didn't commit a turnover tonight, which is the good news, but also didn't hit a 3-pointer and didn't play all that well. He's still trying to get back into a groove after missing the start of the season due to a suspension, but that just makes him an interesting buy-low candidate right now.
Nov 28 - 11:21 PM

Darren Collison scored a season-high 21 points against the Thunder on Wednesday, adding six assists and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

He got the start tonight and looks to have the job going forward. Collison has the wind at his back with his momentum in his last five, averaging 16.4 points, 2.2 boards, 5.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 treys on 57.4 percent from the line. He should be owned in all leagues.
Nov 24 - 1:49 AM

Updating a previous item, Darren Collison is starting over Ty Lawson on Wednesday.

It's been a bad day for lineup reports with coaches making last-second changes. Collison should be owned in all leagues.
Nov 23 - 10:44 PM

Darren Collison moved into Sacramento's starting unit on Sunday, scoring 15 points with nine assists and two steals in 32 minutes.

Collison made 4-of-8 FGs and 6-of-8 FTs with one 3-pointer, and the Kings' change to a small-ball attack should be very beneficial for him. "I thought going small [opened up space], both Darren and Ty didn’t see so many people in front of them," coach Dave Joerger said about the switch. If you drafted Collison and weathered his suspension, this is the change you've been waiting for.
Nov 21 - 12:56 AM

Darren Collison will start at PG for the Kings on Sunday, sending Arron Afflalo to the bench.

Matt Barnes will also start in place of Kosta Koufos, providing the small-ball lineup coach Dave Joerger hinted at after Friday's game. Collison's ascension to the starting five was just a matter of time, and it's reasonable to assume he'll lock down the job for the rest of the season.
Nov 20 - 8:59 PM

Darren Collison started the second half ahead of Kosta Koufos on Friday, finishing with 16 points, two rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes.

He played starters minutes and even saw 25 minutes next to DeMarcus Cousins. It's still a little surprising to see Collison hasn't taken the reins on the first unit, but he's played well in his last three. In that span, he averaged 15.3 points, 3.7 boards, 4.0 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 treys on 58.8 percent from the field. He's worth owning in all leagues and should continue his upward trend.
Nov 19 - 2:38 AM

Darren Collison played 30 minutes off the bench on Wednesday with 10 points, four rebounds, six assists and two steals.

He continues to come off the bench, but coach Dave Joerger is giving him starters minutes. After the game, coach Joerger said he is considering a change to the starting lineup, which figures to be Collison coming into the starting lineup and Ty Lawson moving out. Collison should get even better as he gets his legs back and establishes more rapport with the key rotation players.
Nov 17 - 1:05 AM

Darren Collison scored 20 points with five rebounds, four assists, and three turnover in 38 minutes against the Blazers on Friday.

He played all of the overtime minutes and he played the final 4:54 in the fourth quarter. The Kings have a 14.4 net rating in their 49 minutes with Collison and DeMarcus Cousins this year, so you can probably pencil the DC duo as starters the next time out. Collison should be owned across the board in an excellent spot for value.
Nov 12 - 2:07 AM

Darren Collison hit just 2-of-11 shots off the bench to finish with six points, two rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 23 minutes in Thursday's 101-91 loss to the Lakers.

The Kings let the Lakers go on a 31-11 run late to pull from 10 down to 10 up, and that resulted in the final score. Collison's assists were nice, he's only been back for two games and his move into the starting lineup (over Ty Lawson) is a matter of 'when,' and not 'if.' Make sure he's not on your waiver wire.
Nov 11 - 1:27 AM

Darren Collison returned from his suspension on Tuesday and played 28 minutes off the bench, hitting 4-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for nine points, four assists and two steals.

Baby steps here, folks. Collison will be starting any day now and the run of Ty Lawson (0-for-5, zero points) is almost over. If Collison is still available in your league, he shouldn't be. Go get him.
Nov 9 - 1:57 AM

Darren Collison has served his eight-game suspension and is expected to play Tuesday vs. New Orleans.

Ty Lawson did not impress during his eight games as a starter, so it would be quite shocking if Collison didn't immediately overtake Lawson for the starting point guard position in Sacramento. Collison has a good amount of upside, so make sure he's not floating around on your waiver wire.
Nov 7 - 2:14 PM

Darren Collison is feeling confident entering his eighth NBA season.

"I think I have more confidence in my game and how much work I’ve put into my game," Collison said. "I’ve always been able to score, and now it’s about putting it all together, being able to score and get everyone else involved." After serving his eight-game suspension, Collison should be Sacramento's starting point guard, and as a guy with top-50 upside he'll make for a fine late-round pick on draft day.
Oct 19 - 10:04 AM

Darren Collison scored 22 points with three rebounds, eight assists, one block and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes on Saturday.

The Kings used their starters more than usual with Collison outplaying every other guard on the roster by a mile. He's going to miss the first eight games of the season, but he's looking at big minutes with his high fantasy floor. As long as he's healthy and the Kings don't trade for another point guard, Collison should have mid-round value once he gets going.
Oct 15 - 10:34 PM

Darren Collison made all four shots from the field for 11 points with five assists, four steals and one 3-pointer in 16 minutes on Monday.

He did come off the bench during this game. Collison's starting job is secure and he should be able to play minutes in the low 30s. He will miss the first eight games of the year, but he possesses a very fantasy-friendly game. In his 15 starts last year, he averaged 15.5 points, 2.9 boards, 6.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 treys.
