Kings coach Dave Joerger said Darren Collison's situation as far as league discipline is still up in the air.
Collison pleaded guilty in early September to one count of misdemeanor domestic violence, so it's basically a lock that the NBA will issue a suspension. With less than a month to go until opening night, fantasy owners should tread carefully with Collison in fantasy drafts until we get more clarity. Joerger said he's counting on Ty Lawson for a big year, so he could open the season as the starting PG with Garrett Temple backing him up. Sep 27 - 11:50 PM

Darren Collison pleaded guilty Friday to one count of misdemeanor domestic violence.

He will not serve actual jail time, but did receive a 20-day jail sentence in an Alternative Sentencing Program. That program will have him serve community service projects for Placer County. He will also serve three years of informal probation and attend a Batterer Treatment class over a 52-week period. "Words cannot describe the feelings and regret that I have been experiencing the last few months," Collison said in a statement. Per the NBA CBA, this plea agreement will result in a suspension for Collison. Ty Lawson is on a non-guaranteed deal and may be the opening night starter until Collison is available.

Darren Collison's court date has been pushed back yet again.

He will now head to court on September 8 as opposed to August 18. Collison is facing two misdemeanor domestic violence charges and the NBA could discipline him as well. For now, Collison is penciled in as the starting PG in Sacramento.

Darren Collison's court case has been postponed to August 18.

Collison is facing two misdemeanor domestic violence charges and is set to appear in court in Placer County on August 18. Collison is currently the Kings de facto starting point guard and will have a bit of fantasy value due to the big minutes he'll see in that role. He's likely to face discipline from the league following his court ruling, but he'll be worth a look in the mid-to-late rounds of fantasy drafts.

The Kings are reportedly "comfortable" with Darren Collison as their starting point guard next season.

This started to become clear after a report from the Sacramento Bee indicated that the Kings don't intend to re-sign Rajon Rondo. Collison played well last season with averages of 14.0 points, 4.3 assists, 2.3 boards, 1.0 steals and 1.2 3-pointers, but his fantasy value would get a significant boost with Rondo moving on. To be clear, Collison is still facing two misdemeanor domestic violence charges and the NBA could discipline him as well. Additionally, the Kings are expected to pursue another backup PG which would be bad news for rookie Isaiah Cousins.

Domestic violence charges were filed against Darren Collison on Friday.

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office: "Deputies found that the woman had visible injuries and they arrested Collison on a charge of domestic violence. He was booked at the Placer County Jail in Auburn. He was additionally booked for two misdemeanor warrants, totaling $7,500, for driving on a suspended license. The name of the female victim will not be released as she’s a victim of domestic violence."

Kings PG Darren Collison was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge.

According to CBS Sacramento, Collison was booked into Placer County Jail on one count of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant and a bench warrant of driving while his license was revoked. Details are still coming out, but the Kings have already released a statement on the arrest: "We’ve been made aware of the situation. The Sacramento Kings condemn violence of any kind. We are gathering additional information and once all facts are known we will take appropriate steps." If convicted, Collison faces up to four years in prison and $6,000 in fines.

According to Ian Begley of ESPN, the Knicks have interest in Darren Collison and Jeff Teague.

It's no secret that the Knicks will try to upgrade their backcourt this summer, but both Collison and Teague are under contract with their current teams through the 2016-17 season. The Knicks don't have many assets to use in trade talks, so a deal seems very unlikely. There are some free agent point guards that the Knicks could pursue this summer as well, including Mike Conley, Rajon Rondo and Brandon Jennings.

Darren Collison (rest) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Rockets.

With DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo also unavailable for Wednesday's game, Seth Curry will get all the run he can handle, and he figures to be a focal point of the Sacramento offense. It would be unwise to not target Curry in DFS on Wednesday night.
Apr 12 - 3:47 PM

Darren Collison (rest) will not play against the Suns on Monday.

It's an important game for a loss, so the Kings will rest Collison, Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins. With Collison out, Seth Curry should get all he can handle in a favorable matchup. He's basically a must-use player in DFS and should be owned in all leagues.

Apr 11 - 4:26 PM

Darren Collison scored 27 points to lead the Kings to a 114-112 win over the Thunder on Saturday.

He drew another start in place of Rajon Rondo (rest) and didn't disappoint, adding eight assists, five boards, one steal and four 3-pointers in 37 minutes. Rondo may not even play in the Kings' final two games of the season since they're tanking, so it's possible that Collison could have two more starts coming his way. Keep in mind that Collison could get a night off as well, as the Kings rested him earlier in the week without a warning.
Apr 10 - 1:48 AM

Darren Collison will start on Saturday vs. the Thunder.

Rajon Rondo is going to rest again, so Collison will see all the minutes he can handle and will likely be a popular play in DFS tonight. Make sure he's in all active lineups. He scored 19 points with two rebounds, six assists and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes in his previous outing.
Apr 9 - 9:32 PM

Darren Collison scored 19 points during a 105-97 loss to the Wolves on Thursday with two rebounds, six assists and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes.

Rajon Rondo did not play in this game for rest and he's probably not going to play in at least one more game. Although, the Kings might want him to give it a go in their last home game at Sleep Train Arena on Saturday, so Collison will likely log most of his minutes at shooting guard against the Thunder.
Apr 8 - 12:34 AM

Darren Collison is starting on Thursday against the Wolves.

Expect him to be very busy as a must-start play in DFS.
Apr 7 - 9:27 PM

Darren Collison (rest) is a late scratch for Tuesday's game vs. the Blazers.

The Kings are acting shady lately because they are tanking so that they can to keep their top-10 protected draft pick. Collison should be back for Thursday's game vs. the Wolves. Rajon Rondo and Seth Curry are going to be busy tonight.
