Darren Collison misfired on seven of his eight field-goal attempts in Sunday's 118-102 loss against the Spurs, finishing with just two points, four assists and two rebounds in 24 minutes.
Collison has turned in back-to-back disappointing efforts, hitting just five of his 21 field goal attempts. He had the chance to shine and be the focal point of the offense with Arron Afflalo (personal), Tyreke Evans (ankle) and Ben McLemore (rest) sidelined, but his shot was not falling and he struggled mightily against San Antonio's defense. He'll have two full days to rest before the team's next outing against Milwaukee on Wednesday. Mar 19 - 10:07 PM

Date:

Darren Collison scored 10 points with three rebounds in 27 minutes against the Thunder on Saturday.

It was somewhat disappointing for Collison, who has a decent chance to rest on Sunday. Most fantasy owners may want to jump ship and the Kings do only have three games for the upcoming week, so one day off would make an undesirable player to use. Malachi Richardson returning next week won't help him either.
Mar 18 - 5:32 PM

Darren Collison, Garrett Temple, Buddy Hield, Willie Cauley-Stein and Kosta Koufos will start against the Thunder on Saturday.

Collison is back after a day off. With plenty of resting players behind him, he should be getting some heavy minutes against Russell Westbrook. The bad news is more rest is likely coming, so he probably won't be very fun to own when he's not starting.
Mar 18 - 2:40 PM

Darren Collison and Anthony Tolliver are out against the Suns on Wednesday due to "planned rest."

The Kings will rest the other vets in this game after they rested a slew of them on Monday. With Collison out, there should be big minutes going to Ty Lawson with Tyreke Evans backing him up. Collison is probably going to rest at some point again, so his fantasy owners will have to figure out if he's worth owning with possible rest every other game.
Mar 15 - 8:28 PM

Darren Collison scored 14 points with two rebounds, 10 assists and one turnover in 33 minutes against the Wizards on Friday.

That's his first double-double since the first game since the break. Somewhat surprisingly, Collison's numbers are not up since the DeMarcus Cousins deal, averaging 12.3 points, 3.1 boards, 4.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.0 treys in his previous games since the move. He should trend up and hang in the top 50-75 range going forward.
Mar 11 - 1:35 AM

Darren Collison was quiet in 24 minutes during an epic collapse vs. the Spurs on Wednesday, scoring five points on 2-of-9 shooting with five rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.

We expected better from DC once DeMarcus Cousins left town, but he's been mediocre since the break with averages of 13.5 points, 1.2 threes, 2.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks. His minutes are down over the past two games, as coach Dave Joerger continues to meddle with his rotations, but Collison's owners should stay the course. He's clearly one of the best options on a bad team.
Mar 9 - 12:39 AM

Darren Collison made 5-of-13 from the field for 15 points with four rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday.

Not much analysis needed on Collison here. His fantasy owners can thank their lucky stars he wasn't traded because he should be putting up big numbers as the top offensive weapon for the Kings going forward. He should flirt with top-50 value the rest of the way.
Feb 24 - 1:40 AM

The Kings are "holding firm" on their asking price of a first-round pick for Darren Collison, according to NBA.com's David Aldridge.

On Wednesday, general manager Vlade Divac told Collison he won't be traded. The sense around the league is Collison will be traded, but we'll see who softens their stance. If Collison is gone, the Kings will likely sign a 10-day guy to back up Ty Lawson.
Feb 23 - 12:06 PM

Darren Collison said general manager Vlade Divac told him he doesn't plan to trade him at the deadline.

To be clear, this doesn't exactly mean much with the Kings going into a full sell mode following the Boogie Cousins deal. Several reports say he is as good as gone, which would obviously cripple his fantasy value. If he can stay with Sacramento, Collison could flirt with early-round value. For what it's worth, Collison has a 26.7 usage rate when he's not on the court with Boogie compared to 18.2 with him.
Feb 22 - 2:30 PM

According to Chris Mannix of The Vertical, Darren Collison, Ben McLemore and Arron Afflalo are all "available" with the deadline looming.

The Kings moved on from DeMarcus Cousins on Sunday which signaled the beginning of a very long rebuild. Collison is set to become a free agent this summer and the Kings probably aren't confident about their ability to re-sign him, so moving him now for a draft pick makes sense before he walks for nothing. His owners will be hoping that he lands in a favorable spot, but a move would likely hurt his fantasy value. Ty Lawson is the big winner here if the Kings find a new home for Collison, unless of course the Kings bring in a young PG.
Feb 20 - 9:40 AM

Darren Collison hit 5-of-12 shots and a 3-pointer for 13 points, five rebounds, eight assists and five turnovers in Tuesday's 97-96 win over the Lakers.

He played 40 minutes, but Boogie Cousins was amped for this game and shot it about every time he touched it, limiting Collison's shots in the process. Ty Lawson was out with his adductor strain and any time he's in street clothes, Collison is a viable fantasy play. He just didn't have a big game tonight. If Lawson plays on Wednesday, fading Collison is probably the way to go.
Feb 15 - 1:37 AM

Darren Collison hit 7-of-16 shots for 20 points with eight assists, six rebounds, three steals and two 3-pointers in 41 minutes on Sunday against the Pelicans.

Collison played big minutes once again and has now seen a two percent boost in usage over his last five games. During that stretch, he has averaged 38.4 minutes, 20 points, five assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. Collison should continue to thrive so long as Ty Lawson (adductor) is sidelined. The Kings’ next game is on Tuesday against the Lakers, who are yielding the fifth most fantasy points per game to point guards.
Feb 12 - 11:48 PM

Darren Collison scored 22 points and hit the game-winning layup with 3.5 seconds remaining in Friday's 108-107 win over the Hawks.

The Kings outscored the Hawks 34-23 in the fourth quarter and came all the way back from a 22-point deficit. Collison logged 44 minutes with Ty Lawson (groin) watching from the sidelines, shooting 8-of-16 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line with four assists, three rebounds, two steals and two triples with just one turnover. If Lawson misses more time, Collison should have another strong game vs. the Pelicans on Sunday -- New Orleans is allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.
Feb 11 - 1:18 AM

Darren Collison led the Kings to an impressive 108-92 win vs. the Celtics on Wednesday, scoring 26 points on 12-of-21 shooting with two 3-pointers, five assists, one rebound and four steals.

DC committed just two turnovers in 38 minutes and he played admirable defense vs. red hot Isaiah Thomas, resulting in what is probably his best fantasy line of the season. He's averaging 19.3 points in February, propelling him to mid-round value for 8-cat and 9-cat, and he'll be leaned on even more if Ty Lawson's hamstring injury costs him any games.
Feb 9 - 2:01 AM

The Kings have reportedly been active in the trade market, and there's a growing sense that they could move Darren Collison and Kosta Koufos at the deadline.

Kings' GM firmly denied that the Kings are shopping DeMarcus Cousins on Monday, but it does seem likely that they will make a trade to try and help bolster the roster around DMC. Collison is in a pretty good spot for value as Sacramento's starting point guard, but he'd likely be a reserve on most teams, so his value would likely take a hit with a trade. Koufos already isn't worth owning, and that won't change based on the name across his jersey.
