Victor Claver (ankle) scored three points with two boards, one assist and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes against the Thunder on Friday.
He's going to start for Nicolas Batum, but Claver has yet to really make an impact for the Blazers in his rookie season. His upside is too low to be considered as a asset in most fantasy leagues. Apr 13 - 2:02 AM

Victor Claver suffered a sprained left ankle in the second half of Wednesday's game and went to the locker room.

He rolled his ankle in transition and hobbled back to the locker room after calling for a sub. He was playing well with nine points, but now the Blazers will likely go with a combination of Sasha Pavlovic and Luke Babbitt to replace him.
Apr 10 - 11:44 PM

Victor Claver, starting at SF in place of Nicolas Batum (shoulder), finished Wednesday's rout with seven points and two rebounds in 26 minutes.

Nicolas Batum's shoulder injury opened up plenty of minutes, but Claver didn't do much with them. Batum is day-to-day and we'd continue to avoid Claver, even though Terry Stotts intends to use the final eight games to give his young players "more of a learning experience."
Apr 4 - 1:05 AM

Victor Claver will start in place of the injured Nicolas Batum (shoulder) on Wednesday.

Claver is coming off a solid Monday night that saw him score a career-high 12 points to go along with five rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers. Claver will be one of three rookies starting Wednesday with Meyers Leonard again in for the injured LaMarcus Aldridge. Both Claver and Leonard should be on the radar of teams in deeper leagues.
Apr 3 - 2:23 PM

Victor Claver scored a career-high 12 points to go with five rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers on 4-of-5 from the field.

He broke his old career best of 11 points on February 13 and the Blazers have used him as a stretch four to help replace LaMarcus Aldridge. Claver can score a little bit and he's on the radar in deep leagues while LMA is on the mend.
Apr 2 - 12:23 AM

Victor Claver's ankle is not yet at full strength.

Claver played on Wednesday after missing time with a sprained ankle, but the training staff noted he didn't have "a lot of strength," which should be expected. He's not worth owning in any format.
Mar 28 - 7:58 AM

Victor Claver (ankle) has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's game against the Nets.

Claver was called a game-time decision Tuesday after going through his first practice since suffering the injury March 8. Barring a serious injury to LaMarcus Aldridge, Claver doesn't have a ton of fantasy value even when healthy.
Mar 27 - 2:20 PM

Victor Claver (ankle) is a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against the Nets.

Claver practiced Tuesday for the first time since spraining his ankle on March 8. The slender Spanish import was playing 14.0 minutes per game before going down.
Mar 26 - 4:35 PM

Victor Claver (ankle) is expected to return to practice on Tuesday.

Terry Stotts said that Claver will "probably" return to practice on Tuesday, and that's good news considering he hasn't played since March 8. It's not clear when he might be ready for game action just yet.
Mar 25 - 9:23 AM

Victor Claver (ankle) will not play on Monday and is not with the Blazers on their five-game road trip.

Claver is out indefinitely until further notice, while Nicolas Batum and Joel Freeland will pick up some extra minutes at power forward in the interim. Sasha Pavlovic (quad) also remains out and did not travel with the team on the road trip, either.

Victor Claver (ankle) is not expected to travel with the Blazers on their upcoming five-game road trip.

His sprain seems to be severe, and the Blazers will compensate by using Nicolas Batum as a backup PF, while also giving more minutes to Joel Freeland.
Mar 17 - 11:19 AM

Victor Claver (ankle) won't play Saturday against the Pistons.

Claver has been sidelined since spraining the ankle Feb. 8. Regardless of his health, Claver doesn't have enough fantasy value to affect most formats.
Mar 15 - 4:01 PM

Victor Claver (ankle) and Sasha Pavlovic (leg) both missed practice Wednesday.

Claver hasn't played since spraining his ankle Friday while Pavlovic has been on the shelf since Feb. 22. We're not all that surprised that both sat out Wednesday, but it doesn't bode well for their chances to play Thursday against the Knicks. Even if healthy, neither is much of a fantasy option in most formats.
Mar 13 - 4:41 PM

Victor Claver (ankle) will not play on Tuesday against the Grizzlies, as expected.

Claver is near the top of the garbage heap when talking about Blazers second-stringers, but the only reserve in Portland worth taking a chance on is Eric Maynor, who enjoys a five-game week next week.
Mar 12 - 2:22 PM

Victor Claver (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Grizzlies.

This jibes with Claver's previous assessment when he said he didn't expect to play on Tuesday. Jared Jeffries or Luke Babbitt could pick up a few extra minutes, but neither is a fantasy asset.
