Toney Douglas scored 12 points with five rebounds, five assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes vs. the Rockets on Saturday.

Don't read too much into this line, as Douglas scored nine of his 12 points in garbage time. Douglas was held to single-digit points in his six previous games, so fantasy owners can ignore him while Mike Conley is active. If anything, this confirms that Douglas is a better handcuff in deeper leagues than Andrew Harrison.
Mar 5 - 12:18 AM

The Grizzlies have signed Toney Douglas for the rest of the 2016-17 season.

Douglas' second 10-day deal expired recently and they opted to keep him on as a backup for Mike Conley. The deal has a team option for 2017-18, but Douglas' whereabouts don't have an impact outside of the deepest fantasy leagues.
Feb 23 - 3:45 PM

Toney Douglas signed his second 10-day contract with the Grizzlies on Thursday.

At the conclusion of this 10-day deal, the Grizzlies will either have to sign him to at least a one-year deal (until the end of this season) or send him back to free agency. Douglas had a nice game on Wednesday with 11 points (2-of-6 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 25 minutes, but he was very quiet in his previous four. He has very little fantasy value right now.

Feb 9 - 1:35 PM

Toney Douglas came off the Grizzlies' bench on Wednesday for 11 points (2-of-6 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs) with four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer.

The Suns have allowed 100+ points to 16 consecutive opponents, and even the slow-paced Grizzlies poured in 110 points tonight. Douglas has three games with double-figure scoring this season, and three games with zero points, which says plenty about his lack of fantasy value.
Feb 9 - 12:56 AM

Toney Douglas scored two points with one assist and one steal in five minutes on Wednesday.

"I just really felt a comfortable fit being [with the Grizzlies]," Douglas said, explaining why he passed up other offers. He's nowhere near getting the minutes necessary for fantasy value.

Feb 2 - 12:22 AM

Toney Douglas played five minutes on Monday vs. the Suns and finished scoreless with one rebound, one assist and two turnovers.

He missed his only shot in garbage time. Coach David Fizdale said the Grizzlies signed Douglas to a 10-day contract because he wants a veteran behind Mike Conley and he cited Douglas' familiarity with the playbook -- Douglas played for the Grizzlies earlier this season and averaged 5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.5 triples in 17.8 minutes per game. He's not a fantasy pickup.
Jan 31 - 1:24 AM

Toney Douglas will be available to play Monday vs. Phoenix.

Head coach David Fizdale said he wants to use him alongside backup point guard Andrew Harrison, so it sounds like he wants to run Douglas at the two, which will take away some minutes from Vince Carter and Troy Williams. Douglas will likely be logging limited minutes with the second unit, so he's not worth picking up anywhere.
Jan 30 - 3:54 PM

The Grizzlies have signed Toney Douglas to a 10-day contract.

Coach David Fizdale wants an experienced point guard behind Mike Conley, so there's a chance that Douglas will be the primary backup as opposed to Andrew Harrison. Douglas was with the Grizzlies earlier this season and averaged 5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.5 triples in 17.8 minutes per game, so he's not a fantasy pickup while Conley is healthy.
Jan 30 - 12:33 PM

The Grizzlies are reportedly finalizing a deal to sign Toney Douglas on a 10-day contract.

The Grizzlies released Troy Williams to create a roster spot for Douglas, who appeared in six games for Memphis earlier this season, averaging 17.8 minutes, 5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals. Barring a spate of injuries, he's not a fantasy asset.
Jan 29 - 11:14 PM

Grizzlies waive G Toney Douglas.

He was playing really well with 14 points on Wednesday, so this is somewhat surprising. Douglas' play will likely lead to him getting another job. This is good news for Andrew Harrison to keep his minutes, especially on the short term. Also, this suggests Mike Conley (back) is getting much closer.

Toney Douglas had a productive game on Wednesday, coming off the bench for 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting with two 3-pointers, six boards, five assists and two steals.

Douglas committed just one turnover in 28 minutes. He got a boost with starting PG Andrew Harrison (two points in 20 minutes) in foul trouble, and his strong play decimated Wade Baldwin (three minutes). Douglas is worth a speculative add in deeper leagues, but most owners should just keep an eye on him over the next few games.

Toney Douglas cooled off against the Warriors on Saturday with four points, three rebounds, four assist and two steals in 23 minutes.

After he helped close out the Blazers on Thursday as a point guard, Douglas saw minutes at both guards. He has played somewhat well, but there is going to be a lot of competition for minutes. He's more of a stream in deep leagues.
Sun, Dec 11, 2016 12:40:00 AM

Toney Douglas scored 11 points with one rebound, three assists and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes against the Blazers on Thursday.

He played the entire fourth quarter of this close win, making his only field goal and all four from the line. Douglas scored the final six Memphis points, including two free throws with 0.5 seconds left to get the win. He played mostly at point guard tonight and may have carved out a role for minutes in the mid 20s. If you're in a deep league with a dry wire, he's worth a look.

Toney Douglas will be available to play Monday vs. the Pelicans.

It'll be interesting to see how many minutes Douglas can earn in his Memphis debut, but with a favorable matchup against the Jrue Holiday-less (toe) Pelicans, he's someone to consider throwing out there as a DFS punt play. Fantasy GMs in most settings, however, can use a wait-and-see approach here.
