Dante Cunningham scored 14 points with seven rebounds, one assist, one block and four 3-pointers in 30 minutes against the Nets on Friday.
In the plus-minus stat, he managed an incredible -32. Coach Alvin Gentry insists on starting him to help on switches and perimeter defense, but it's costing him in other areas. He's worth a look in deep leagues, but his low upside makes him a low-demand player. He's actually been decent, as a top-200 player lately. Jan 21 - 12:43 AM

Dante Cunningham earned another start for the Pelicans on Wednesday, posting 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting with five rebounds and no other stats in 27 minutes.

The veteran came in shooting 38.9 percent this season, and he's typically a vacant fantasy option no matter how many minutes he gets. He belongs on the wire.
Jan 19 - 12:01 AM

Dante Cunningham moved into the starting lineup on Monday vs. the Pacers, but scored just three points on 1-of-7 shooting in 31 minutes.

We have no idea why coach Alvin Gentry insists on giving Cunningham this type of workload, but it could be his downfall. The forward added just two rebounds, one steal and a triple, while Terrence Jones had 15 points with eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a triple in 26 minutes off the bench. Even with Anthony Davis (back) going down, Cunnigham isn't worth adding in standard leagues.
Jan 16 - 7:36 PM

Dante Cunningham will return to the starting lineup for Monday's matchup with the Pacers, sending Terrence Jones back to the bench.

Alvin Gentry just loves Cunningham, but there's nothing to like about his production in fantasy hoops. Jrue Holiday, Buddy Hield, Solomon Hill and Anthony Davis will join Cunningham in the starting five for today's matinee, and Jones' value will take a hit with the demotion to the second unit.

Dante Cunningham scored seven points with five rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes off the bench against the Bulls on Saturday.

He was the first forward sub of the game and checked in for Terrence Jones, so coach Alvin Gentry may see him in that role going forward. Cunningham needs a ridiculous amount of minutes to have value in even deep leagues.
Jan 14 - 8:00 PM

Dante Cunningham moved to the bench on Thursday against the Nets, finishing with four points, five boards and one steal.

Maybe, just maybe coach Alvin Gentry will start playing Terrence Jones over Cunningham more now. Cunningham isn't worth owning in almost any league regardless.
Jan 12 - 10:49 PM

Dante Cunningham will move to the bench against the Nets on Thursday.

He should still be in the rotation tonight, but obviously fantasy owners shouldn't be looking his way. Cunningham will need a lot to happen to have consistent fantasy value.
Jan 12 - 7:10 PM

Dante Cunningham did not score in 24 minutes against the Celtics on Saturday with four rebounds, two steals and one turnover.

Coach Alvin Gentry loves Cunningham and he continues to give him minutes as the starter over Terrence Jones. Cunningham hasn't hit double-digit scoring in any of his last five, averaging 5.0 points, 5.4 boards, 1.0 steals and 1.0 treys. He's trending down with Donatas Motiejunas in the mix.
Jan 7 - 10:04 PM

Dante Cunningham briefly left Thursday's game against the Hawks and did return, finishing with five points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.

It may have been precautionary for Cunningham, who has dealt with knee injuries before. Most fantasy owners see him as a roadblock to other players because he doesn't do much on the stat sheet. Leave him on the wire.
Jan 5 - 11:01 PM

Dante Cunningham left Thursday night's game with a knee injury, was questionable to return and later re-entered the game for the Pelicans.

This was his ninth game back from a knee injury, but the injury doesn't appear to be serious, as he was able to get back on the court. If his knee becomes an issue again, Terrence Jones would see some extra playing time and is having a good game on Thursday night. Solomon Hill and Tyreke Evans would also get a boost if DC is out, but for now, it sounds like he's OK.

Dante Cunningham is no longer on a minutes restriction.

Considering he played 34 minutes in a start on Friday, we're not sure what kind of limitations he really had in the first place.

Dante Cunningham earned a start vs. the Heat on Friday, posting five points on 2-of-8 shooting, seven boards, two assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes of action.

Cunningham's recent fibial fracture hasn't limited him since his return, but he's unappealing for fantasy purposes. He's shooting 39.6 percent from the field this season, and is a combined 3-of-7 from the free throw line. With a paltry 12.0 percent usage rate, there's no real upside here.

Dante Cunningham will move back into the starting lineup and Solomon Hill will come off the bench against the Heat.

Interesting. With Terrence Jones (illness) out, the move of Cunningham to the three could mean we get some Cheick Diallo at the four in the second unit. Cunningham doesn't have much fantasy value.

Dante Cunningham played 19 minutes with nine points, five rebounds, one assist and three 3-pointers against the 76ers on Tuesday.

Like fellow forward Solomon Hill, Cunningham just isn't asked to do much on the stat sheet. Cunningham was able to return from his knee injury earlier than expected, but he's lost some ground to guys like Terrence Jones. With Cunningham's lack of stat output and only a 12.3 usage rate on the year, there's no reason to add him in most leagues.

Dante Cunningham (knee) played 17 minutes vs. the Spurs on Sunday, scoring six points on 2-of-5 shooting with one 3-pointer, one rebound, one assist and one steal.

Cunningham returned about three weeks after getting hurt, which was ahead of his original 4-6 week timetable. He was on a 15-minute limit tonight, which should remain in place for a while, and there's no reason to touch him in standard leagues. Even deep-league owners can just keep an eye on him.
