Dante Cunningham came off the bench on Sunday for three points, three rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes.
Cunningham filled in for DeMarcus Cousins (knee) on Friday, scoring seven points with nine boards in 39 minutes. He's been a fantasy liability all season, and that's not about to change with 12 games left. Mar 19 - 8:59 PM

Date:

Dante Cunningham will come off the bench behind DeMarcus Cousins (knee) on Sunday.

Cunningham played 39 minutes on Friday but his role will shrink in the second unit. His per-minute usage is minuscule and there's no reason to touch him outside of the deepest leagues.
Mar 19 - 5:18 PM

Dante Cunningham got the start for DeMarcus Cousins (knee, ribs) against the Rockets on Friday with seven points, nine rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and two turnovers in 39 minutes.

He is one of the biggest minutes eaters who don't really do too much. Cunningham is great in his role as a combo forward, but it rarely leads to output on the stat sheet. He gets a revenge game against the Wolves on Sunday, so maybe that will help get him going if Cousins is out again.
Mar 18 - 1:23 AM

Dante Cunningham is starting for DeMarcus Cousins (rib) on Friday vs. the Pelicans.

Cousins is day-to-day and Cunningham is a low-usage player that's simply in there to space the floor. He can be ignored outside of the deepest of leagues. Coach Alvin Gentry hinted that Alexis Ajinca may see some minutes as well.
Mar 17 - 7:29 PM

Dante Cunningham played through an illness on Tuesday and hit 3-of-4 shots off the bench for six points and 10 rebounds in 25 minutes.

DC has scored six or fewer points in four of his last five games and the only time he came through was when he saw extra minutes on Saturday when DeMarcus Cousins got benched. There's not much to see here.
Mar 14 - 11:24 PM

Dante Cunningham (illness) will play Tuesday vs. Portland.

With Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins healthy, this means very little in fantasy hoops.
Mar 14 - 6:38 PM

Dante Cunningham (illness) is questionable to play Tuesday vs. Portland.

Owners can expect to get another update following Tuesday morning's shootaround, but if Cunningham is forced to the sidelines, Donatas Motiejunas and Hollis Thompson would likely split most of his mintues. None of those guys, however, can be considered viable targets while Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins are healthy.
Mar 13 - 5:01 PM

Dante Cunningham scored 14 points with six rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

Because of DeMarcus Cousins not playing for most of the fourth quarter and OT, Cunningham picked up some added run. You have to think this will not be a trend for the Pelicans, so there's no need to go after Cunningham as a pickup.
Mar 11 - 10:43 PM

Dante Cunningham scored six points with five rebounds, one assist, two steals and no turnovers in 26 minutes against the Raptors on Wednesday.

He started the second half because Anthony Davis (wrist) could not return. Cunningham could be looking at huge minutes, but he's failed to put up eye-catching games sans Davis even before DeMarcus Cousins arrived. He's just a lukewarm speculative add in deeper leagues.
Mar 9 - 12:03 AM

Dante Cunningham scored eight points with one rebound and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes against the Spurs on Friday.

There just won't be enough minutes or usage unless DeMarcus Cousins or Anthony Davis miss time. There's certainly a chance both miss games, but there's no need to stash him.
Mar 4 - 2:07 AM

Dante Cunningham turned in a productive start against the Pistons on Wednesday, scoring 16 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and four 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

He got the start for DeMarcus Cousins, but he'll be moving back to the bench for Friday against the Spurs. Before this game, Cunningham was only playing 21.3 minutes per game since the trade deadline, so that's not enough playing time for him to have value in most leagues.
Mar 1 - 11:30 PM

Dante Cunningham will start Wednesday vs. Detroit, as expected.

In case you missed it, DeMarcus Cousins (suspension) is out, so Cunningham gets the start at the four-spot. However, even as a starter, Cunningham is not a viable target in most leagues.
Mar 1 - 7:20 PM

Dante Cunningham is expected to start Wednesday vs. the Pistons.

DeMarcus Cousins will be serving his one-game suspension tonight, so Cunningham figures to return to the starting five and he'll be joined by Jrue Holiday, Hollis Thompson, Solomon Hill and Anthony Davis. Cunningham is averaging just 6.4 points and 4.4 boards as a starter this season, so the starter designation does little to change his non-existent fantasy value.

Dante Cunningham returned from a personal absence on Thursday and had five points, four rebounds, a steal and a 3-pointer in 25 minutes off the bench.

He might see a few more minutes a night with Terrence Jones being waived, but as long as DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis are healthy, Cunningham is going to struggle to be productive.
Feb 23 - 11:33 PM

Dante Cunningham (personal) will not play Wednesday vs. Memphis.

This is the second straight game Cunningham has missed due to personal reasons. We still don't know what Cunningham is dealing with, but hopefully, it's something positive, such as the birth of a child. Terrence Jones (right thumb) has also been ruled out Wednesday. Alexis Ajinca started Monday's game. It was his first start since in 2017. Donatas Motiejunas will also likely see extended minutes once again.
