Dante Cunningham started at center vs. the Suns, finishing with 13 points, eight boards, two steals and one block in 34 minutes.
The Suns' small-ball lineup inspired the switch from Rick Adelman, who consequently shifted Greg Stiemsma (six points, five rebounds, four blocks) to a bench role. Nikola Pekovic (calf) remains day-to-day, and his status will determine whether Cunningham and Stiemsma will be worth fantasy attention on Monday and Wednesday. Apr 13 - 11:10 PM

Date:

Dante Cunningham is starting at center for the Wolves on Saturday.

Rick Adelman is going to shake things up with more of an offensive approach against one of the league's worst defenses. Greg Stiemsma will come off the bench, but he still looks to be a better play for owners looking for some late-season help today. Cunningham is worth a look, as well.
Apr 13 - 6:42 PM

Dante Cunningham returned from his hamstring injury on Friday and had eight points, four boards, two assists and one steal in 26 minutes.

He was a late scratch on Wednesday and the Wolves needed him a bit more than usual with Nikola Pekovic (calf) out. Greg Stiemsma logged a whopping 41 minutes, so Rick Adelman's trust in his big man will limit the smaller Cunningham in getting minutes at center.
Apr 13 - 12:43 AM

Dante Cunningham (hamstring) is back in the lineup against the Jazz on Friday.

He was a late scratch on Wednesday and he should be ready to go tonight. Cunningham should play over 24 minutes with the Wolves not having Nikola Pekovic (calf) and he's on a back-to-back for Saturday's game. We'll keep an eye on him.
Apr 12 - 8:45 PM

Dante Cunningham was a late scratch and will not play against the Clippers on Wednesday due to a right hamstring injury.

He's been helpful for the Wolves and over his last five games, Cunningham averaged 11.8 points in 27.0 minutes. Minnesota will have to count on Derrick Williams and Andrei Kirilenko a bit more tonight.

Dante Cunningham came off the bench for 19 points and five rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting in 24 minutes of Monday's win over the Celtics.

Starter Derrick Williams had just 11 points, three boards and a 3-pointer in 25 minutes, but is still the more reliable fantasy play as long as he's starting over Cunningham.
Apr 2 - 12:20 AM

Dante Cunningham said he's not bothered by his injured right hand.

He shot just 2-of-8 on Saturday, and it was the first time in seven straight he hadn't shot at least 40 percent from the field. Regardless, he's not expected to miss any time with the injury.
Apr 1 - 9:42 AM

Dante Cunningham suffered a right wrist injury against the Thunder on Friday and X-rays were negative.

He was in a lot of pain, but the team said he expects to return. It's too his shooting wrist, so it'll be interesting to see how the jump-shooting forward responds.
Mar 29 - 9:04 PM

Dante Cunningham scored 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting with eight rebounds and two steals in 30 minutes off the bench in Friday's blowout win.

Cunningham has been off the radar for some time and one nice night in a blowout doesn't really change his value. He's hands-off in normal formats.
Mar 23 - 1:20 AM

Dante Cunningham played 39 minutes against the Heat on Monday, scoring eight points with 11 boards, two assists, one steal and one block.

He's the clear winner of the Nikola Pekovic injury news with Chris Johnson (two points in six minutes) and Greg Stiemsma (no points in nine minutes) barely cracking the rotation. Cunningham does have some low-level upside in the short term, so owners in deeper leagues can give him a look.
Mar 4 - 11:16 PM

Dante Cunningham will start at forward for the injured Andrei Kirilenko against the Lakers on Thursday.

Mickael Gelabale hasn't quite cut it for the Wolves at small forward and Rick Adelman is wise to go with a bigger lineup based on the Lakers giving up tons of points in the paint lately. The needle doesn't move too much on Cunningham as a pickup with AK-47 out, but Derrick Williams should be owned in all leagues.

Dante Cunningham scored eight points on 3-of-7 shooting with eight rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Cunningham did not record a steal or block and got a technical foul tonight, and all-in-all owners shouldn't feel attached at the hip to him. Derrick Williams is in a mini-surge right now and owners should be hunting bigger upside if Cunningham is going to be inconsistent.
Feb 9 - 2:43 AM

Dante Cunningham scored four points on 2-of-7 shooting with six rebounds, one steal, and one block in 26 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.

Cunningham has been pretty hot lately so we wouldn't bail specifically due to this game, but it's worth pointing out that he's a relatively inconsistent asset. His situation will worsen when Andrei Kirilenko returns, and he could trade off good nights with Derrick Williams until then.
Feb 7 - 12:39 AM

Dante Cunningham shot 11-of-17 from the field for a career-high 23 points with two boards and three steals in 29 minutes.

He's coming off a franchise-record 9-of-9 from the field on Saturday and his minutes have increased with 28.2 per game over his last five. Cunningham has capitalized on Derrick Williams (one point, four boards and three steals in 19 minutes) going into his usual shell. Cunningham is also worth a look in standard leagues with Andrei Kirilenko dealing with a quad issue.
Feb 5 - 1:03 AM

Dante Cunningham made all nine of his field goal attempts for 18 points with four rebounds and two steals in Saturday's win over the Hornets.

He set a franchise record for most makes without a miss and did it all in just 26 minutes. Cunningham shot just 40 percent from the field in his previous four games and has a season field goal percentage of just 44.7 percent before tonight's gem. He's only worth a look in deeper leagues.
