Dante Cunningham played 20 minutes during a 111-90 loss to the Clippers on Friday with five rebounds, one assist and two steals.
He's likely looking at more minutes at power forward with Anthony Davis (knee) getting hurt tonight. Davis shouldn't be out for long with no structural damage, so Cunningham is only worth a speculative add in deep leagues. He has a low usage rate anyway. Nov 28 - 3:53 AM

Dante Cunningham played 31 minutes against the Nuggets with 11 points, five rebounds, two steals and three blocks.

He saw most of his minutes at center because Anthony Davis (shoulder) got hurt, Omer Asik (illness) didn't play, and Alexis Ajinca was a no show. Cunningham isn't exactly a stat factory, but the Pelicans would have no choice but to give him shots if AD is out. He's worth a speculative add in 16-team leagues right now.
Nov 18 - 12:54 AM

Dante Cunningham will start in place of Omer Asik (illness) on Tuesday against the Nuggets.

This basically pushes Anthony Davis to the center spot and Cunningham to the four. Cunningham is rarely involved in the offense, so he's unlikely to have much fantasy value tonight.
Nov 17 - 8:05 PM

Dante Cunningham will return to the starting lineup for Friday's game vs. the Hawks.

Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Luke Babbitt and Anthony Davis will join Cunningham in the starting lineup for Friday's game, and it'll be interesting to see what kind of minutes Alexis Ajinca earns tonight coming off the bench. Cunningham owns season averages of 6.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 three-pointer per game, so this would be a good example of starting not necessarily translating to fantasy value.

Dante Cunningham will come off the bench for Tuesday's game vs. the Magic.

The Pelicans need Cunningham's size off the bench with Omer Asik and Kendrick Perkins on the sidelines, meaning Luke Babbitt will draw the start. Regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench, Cunningham is never a reliable fantasy option.
Nov 3 - 6:42 PM

Dante Cunningham did not score in 31 minutes against the Blazers on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, one assist and one steal.

He only attempted three shots for an anti-Westbrook usage rate of 4.6. Cunningham will get minutes, but he won't be involved in the offense enough to scoop in most leagues.
Oct 29 - 2:02 AM

Dante Cunningham (head contusion) is expected to play on Wednesday night.

He was cleared from a concussion earlier today and should be in the starting lineup. Cunningham should be splitting the small forward minutes with Alonzo Gee.
Oct 28 - 8:49 PM

Dante Cunningham (head) is questionable to play against the Blazers on Wednesday.

He did clear concussion tests, so he's likely on the good side of this questionable tag. If Cunningham can't go, we'll likely see Alonzo Gee getting most of the minutes at small forward. It's also worth mentioning that Ryan Anderson played all of his minutes at power forward on Tuesday.
Oct 28 - 4:56 PM

Dante Cunningham (head) cleared concussion tests and could be available to play on Wednesday.

There is still nothing official on his status for tonight against the Blazers. The Pelicans could be missing four small forwards so, they badly need Cunningham out there. He looked good with 13 points in 27 minutes, but he's not really a stat-stuffer outside of points and boards.
Oct 28 - 3:14 PM

Dante Cunningham started for the Pelicans and hit 5-of-8 shots and two 3-pointers for 13 points and two rebounds in 27 minutes of Tuesday's opener.

Cunningham is an interesting fantasy prospect and despite the lack of rebounds, played OK tonight. If you have some dead weight you want to drop, he's a possible waiver-wire pickup as long as he's starting for New Orleans. He banged heads with Andrew Bogut tonight, but Bogut got the worst of it. Cunningham was evaluated for a concussion, but the report is that he is "fine."
Oct 28 - 1:33 AM

Dante Cunningham plans to integrate the 3-point shot into his game this season.

"I can shoot it. I will shoot it. It's just about getting game time reps because they're completely different from practice or a workout," he said. Considering he took a career-high 10 attempts last season, it won't take much for Cunningham to make good on his promise. For his career, Cunningham has connected on 5.3 percent of his long distance attempts. No, that's not a typo.
Oct 26 - 11:35 AM

Dante Cunningham went scoreless in 35 minutes vs. Orlando, missing all four of his shot attempts while adding five boards, one assist and one block.

Cunningham is now averaging 4.0 points in 27.7 minutes this preseason. He'll face additional competition once Luke Babbitt (hamstring) and Quincy Pondexter (knee) return to the court. In other words, don't go near him on draft day.
Oct 21 - 10:38 PM

Dante Cunningham is likely going to start at small forward until Quincy Pondexter (knee) is healthy.

It's an ominous day for Pelicans news. This also suggests Jrue Holiday (leg) won't be ready for the opener and Tyreke Evans will start at point guard. Cunningham is hardly a true small forward, which also suggests coach Alvin Gentry doesn't want to play Ryan Anderson there to start. Of course, this news is a positive to Evans, Anderson and Cunningham.
Sep 24 - 11:24 PM

Dante Cunningham agreed to a three-year, $9 million deal with the Pelicans.

The Pelicans dropped over $225 million on their big men on Wednesday, so they were lucky to spend a lot less here. Cunningham is not a fantasy factor.
Jul 4 - 3:02 PM

Dante Cunningham (knee contusion) is expected to play vs. the Rockets on Sunday.

Cunningham isn't a factor in fantasy leagues when the Pelicans are at full strength, but he should see his normal allotment of minutes off the bench tonight. Leave him on the wire.
