Dante Cunningham's surge continued on Sunday with 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting, seven rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in a road win at Denver.
Cunningham doesn't have 3-point range but that hardly matters when he's scoring efficiently, rebounding well, and chipping in reliable defensive stats. He's bound to drop off once Anthony Davis (shoulder) and/or Ryan Anderson (knee) return to action, but their uncertain timetables make Cunningham a solid pickup for the near future. Mar 1 - 11:03 PM

Dante Cunningham started and hit 6-of-11 shots for 13 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block in 33 minutes on Wednesday.

With Ryan Anderson and Anthony Davis out, Cunningham is getting some run, but this was one of his best games of the season, and it's unlikely that he'll play this well on most nights.
Feb 26 - 12:57 AM

Dante Cunningham will start against the Raptors on Monday.

The Pelicans have lost their depth at power forward, so Alexis Ajinca will be come off the bench to back up Omer Asik. Cunningham rarely puts up numbers in any stat category, so Ajinca is the better option in fantasy leagues.
Feb 23 - 6:51 PM

Dante Cunningham started the second half at power forward on Saturday, finishing with seven points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 27 minutes.

With Anthony Davis (shoulder) and Ryan Anderson (knee) out, there are going to be some minutes available at power forward. However, Cunningham doesn't really do anything on the stat sheet and starting the second half tonight may have been matchup-based, so he can be left on the wire in most leagues. Alexis Ajinca is the guy we'll watch tonight and is worth a look.
Feb 21 - 9:07 PM

Dante Cunningham blocked a career-high five shots in Monday's loss, and also added two points on 1-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, two assists and one steal.

There may be a window here in deep leagues with Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson dealing with injuries, but that's only for the desperate owner to consider.
Feb 10 - 2:59 AM

Dante Cunningham did not score in 22 minutes against the Bulls on Saturday with one rebound, one assist, two steals and one block.

Despite playing 31.5 minutes per game in his previous two, Cunningham had a minuscule 7.5 usage rate in those two with averages of 5.0 points, 4.0 boards and 0.5 steals. As you can see by tonight's line, that’s not going to get it done, but he should see more shots while Anthony Davis (shoulder) is out. Cunningham is only worth a look in deep leagues.
Feb 7 - 9:09 PM

Dante Cunningham scored eight points with 12 rebounds on Friday against the Clippers.

Cunning didn't add any other stats but with the Pelicans thin at some key positions he could be worth watching as a DFS option.
Jan 31 - 1:46 AM

Dante Cunningham played 39 minutes against the Nuggets on Wednesday with six points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal.

He continues to get big minutes, but he's not really involved in the offense and he's not much of a stat filler on the other end. Cunningham is a low-end speculative add in deeper leagues with Anthony Davis (groin) getting an MRI on Thursday.
Jan 28 - 11:08 PM

Dante Cunningham started Sunday's game but had only two points, two assists and two steals in 21 minutes vs. Dallas.

He might have played more minutes for the short-handed Pelicans, but was hampered by foul trouble. Over his past five games he has point totals of two, two, one, 14 and two. He's worth keeping an eye on while starting but is best suited to the waiver wire outside of deep leagues.
Jan 25 - 9:35 PM

Dante Cunningham returned to Minnesota where he played last season, scoring 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting with five rebounds, two steals and one block over 35 minutes in Friday's win.

Cunningham is going to have some extra opportunity with Jrue Holiday out for a while and Ryan Anderson dealing with an ankle injury. Give him a look if you need a low-end forward.
Jan 24 - 2:45 AM

Dante Cunningham scored four points with five rebounds and one assist in a start against the Celtics on Monday.

While he is playing 34 minutes per game over his last two, it doesn't look like he'll be a fantasy factor. Somehow, he posted a 5.9 usage rate in that span and the Pelicans added Quincy Pondexter, who figures to get playing time. Cunningham can be left on the wire.
Jan 12 - 11:18 PM

Dante Cunningham didn't score his 32 minutes in his start at small forward against the Grizzlies on Friday, adding seven rebounds, one assist and three blocks.

The minutes are the story and the Pelicans did earn a big win tonight. Cunningham has a chance to stick in the starting lineup, but he's only worth a look in deep leagues due to so-so shooting and not many rebounds.
Jan 10 - 1:22 AM

Dante Cunningham will start ahead of Tyreke Evans on Friday against the Grizzlies.

Coach Monty Williams often gets too cute with his guys, but his second unit really needs some ball handling. Cunningham probably won't see many minutes in the starting lineup, so he's only an option in very deep leagues.
Jan 9 - 7:22 PM

Dante Cunningham played just 15 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday with four points and one steal.

His minutes were cut severely tonight and he looked really bad on defense. Cunningham had back-to-back impressive games before tonight, but Tyreke Evans coming back and pushing Ryan Anderson to more power forward hurt DC. He's only worth owning in very deep leagues.
Sat, Dec 20, 2014 09:14:00 PM

Dante Cunningham hit a clutch jumper against the Rockets during a win on Thursday, finishing with 15 points, five rebounds, one block and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.

He played down the stretch next to Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson tonight. This is his third game with 30 minutes or more, so he should have some low-end fantasy value. Although, he does not do much else besides score, so he's not worth grabbing in standard leagues.
