The Timberwolves have reportedly expressed interest in free agent Dante Cunningham.
Cunningham opted out of a $3.1 million player option for the 2017-18 campaign and expected to get a raise after turning in a solid 2016-17 season. He averaged 6.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and a career-high 1.1 3-pointers. Cunningham also shot a career-high 39.2 percent from 3-point territory. Given his ability to defend multiple positions and knock down corner treys, it is surprising he has yet to secure a contract for next season. Jul 21 - 11:23 AM

ESPN is reporting that the Knicks are interested in pending free agent Dante Cunningham.

Cunningham will be looking for a raise after earning just $2.9 million last season. Known as a versatile defender, Cunningham showed he was also a capable 3-point shooter last season. He averaged 1.1 treys per game while shooting a team-high 39.2 percent from the floor in 2016-17

ESPN is reporting that Dante Cunningham plans to decline his player option and become unrestricted free agent this summer.

An unsurprising development, as Cunningham's option for the 2017-18 season was worth only $3.1 million. He appeared in 66 games (including 35 starts) for the Pelicans last season and averaged 6.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and a career-high 1.1 3-pointers. A reliable and versatile veteran, Cunningham should have plenty of suitors interested in his services come July.
Apr 29 - 1:20 PM

Dante Cunningham scored four points with four rebounds, one steal and one block in a start against the Nuggets on Friday.

The Pelicans are expected to play their young guys, so maybe we get some extra Cheick Diallo on Saturday. Cunningham's upside is too low.
Apr 8 - 12:58 AM

Dante Cunningham will start for Boogie Cousins on Friday against the Nuggets.

With Anthony Davis having a minutes limit now, Cunningham may actually get some shots in the first unit. He should also get some serious minutes, so he's not the worst DFS punt today.
Apr 7 - 7:38 PM

Dante Cunningham scored 15 points with two rebounds, two steals and three 3-pointers against the Mavs on Wednesday.

That's a pretty good outing for Cunningham, but he's just too inconsistent to trust almost anywhere when the Pelicans are healthy.
Mar 30 - 12:45 AM

Dante Cunningham will return to the bench for Wednesday's game against the Mavs.

DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) will be back in the starting lineup tonight following a two-game stint on the sidelines, so Cunningham will go from irrelevant starter to even more irrelevant bench player. Leave him on the wire.
Mar 29 - 6:29 PM

Dante Cunningham finished with six points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots in 31 minutes against the Nuggets on Sunday.

Cunningham was making the start with DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) sidelined. He is only worth a look in the very deepest of seasonal fantasy leagues even if he makes another start in place of Cousins. Cunningham has a low usage rate even in a starting role. However, he is worth a roll of the dice as a low-priced DFS option if he makes another start.
Mar 26 - 10:21 PM

Dante Cunningham will start vs. the Nuggets on Sunday.

DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) has been ruled out tonight, so Cunningham should get significant minutes. He sports an extremely low usage rate, however, and even as a fill-in starter he hasn't done much to merit fantasy owners' attention.
Mar 26 - 6:45 PM

Dante Cunningham came off the bench on Sunday for three points, three rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes.

Cunningham filled in for DeMarcus Cousins (knee) on Friday, scoring seven points with nine boards in 39 minutes. He's been a fantasy liability all season, and that's not about to change with 12 games left.
Mar 19 - 8:59 PM

Dante Cunningham will come off the bench behind DeMarcus Cousins (knee) on Sunday.

Cunningham played 39 minutes on Friday but his role will shrink in the second unit. His per-minute usage is minuscule and there's no reason to touch him outside of the deepest leagues.
Mar 19 - 5:18 PM

Dante Cunningham got the start for DeMarcus Cousins (knee, ribs) against the Rockets on Friday with seven points, nine rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and two turnovers in 39 minutes.

He is one of the biggest minutes eaters who don't really do too much. Cunningham is great in his role as a combo forward, but it rarely leads to output on the stat sheet. He gets a revenge game against the Wolves on Sunday, so maybe that will help get him going if Cousins is out again.
Mar 18 - 1:23 AM

Dante Cunningham is starting for DeMarcus Cousins (rib) on Friday vs. the Pelicans.

Cousins is day-to-day and Cunningham is a low-usage player that's simply in there to space the floor. He can be ignored outside of the deepest of leagues. Coach Alvin Gentry hinted that Alexis Ajinca may see some minutes as well.
Mar 17 - 7:29 PM

Dante Cunningham played through an illness on Tuesday and hit 3-of-4 shots off the bench for six points and 10 rebounds in 25 minutes.

DC has scored six or fewer points in four of his last five games and the only time he came through was when he saw extra minutes on Saturday when DeMarcus Cousins got benched. There's not much to see here.
Mar 14 - 11:24 PM

Dante Cunningham (illness) will play Tuesday vs. Portland.

With Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins healthy, this means very little in fantasy hoops.
