Jonas Jerebko (nose) played 10 minutes vs. the Kings on Wednesday, finishing with two points, two rebounds and two turnovers.
Jerebko broke his nose after colliding with Jaylen Brown on Sunday. He played with a mask tonight and said that he'll need offseason surgery, but the injury didn't cost him a single game. His availability is great for the Celtics' ever-changing rotations, but it doesn't matter in the majority of fantasy leagues. Feb 9 - 2:02 AM

Date:

Jonas Jerebko (nose) tweeted that he suffered a broken nose on Sunday, but will be ready to play on Wednesday vs. the Kings.

The good news is that it seems he avoided a concussion. However, there is only limited fantasy impact here, as Jerebko is averaging just 4.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game this season.

Jonas Jerebko (nasal contusion) will not return to Sunday's game against the Clippers.

Jerebko took a direct, and very hard hit to his face via a Jaylen Brown shoulder, and the Celtics still haven't ruled out a potential concussion. He'll end his night with two boards, one steal and zero points through 10 minutes, and if he's forced to miss any additional time, Kelly Olynyk will likely pick up most of his minutes. He's scheduled to undergo an X-ray to determine if he's dealing with a broken nose, but for now, we'll consider him questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Kings.
Feb 5 - 4:10 PM

Jonas Jerebko went back to the locker room after having a cut opened up on his head after a collision with Jaylen Brown.

Jerebko got caught with a Brown shoulder that opened up a pretty nasty cut on his face, and he should be considered questionable to return. If the injury forces him to miss any time, Kelly Olynyk would likely pick up most of his minutes.
Feb 5 - 3:55 PM

Jonas Jerebko played 19 minutes off the bench on Wednesday, finishing a comeback win vs. Toronto with six points, three rebounds, two assists and one block.

Jerebko isn't the most stable fantasy option, to say the least. "The one thing that you get by bringing Jonas off the bench is you keep that Jonas-Kelly [Olynyk] pairing together," coach Brad Stevens said before the game. "That's been really good for us." Olynyk was a late scratch tonight but Stevens rolled with Jerebko off the bench anyway, and said his frontcourt will remain "flexible" to account for different matchups.
Feb 1 - 11:16 PM

Jonas Jerebko will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Raptors.

Amir Johnson will get back in the starting five to better matchup with Toronto, so Jerebko's minutes will likely fall back to the teens. As a reserve, Jerebko can't be viewed as a viable target in most settings.
Feb 1 - 5:45 PM

Jonas Jerebko made another start on Monday and hit just 1-of-2 shots (a 3-pointer), finishing with three points, but also had 10 rebounds in 24 minutes.

Jerebko is an interesting fantasy option right now since he's starting for Boston, but he hasn't scored more than eight points in his last five games and was coming off a scoreless dud on Saturday, when he played just 18 minutes. Whether he's starting or coming off the bench, Jerebko's a low-end fantasy option and you can probably find a more consistent performer off you waiver wire.
Jan 30 - 11:32 PM

Jonas Jerebko will start at power forward for Monday's game against the Pistons, sending Amir Johnson to the bench.

Through four starts this season, Jerebko owns meager averages of 5.0 points, 5.5 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 block per game on 38.9 percent shooting, so he's not a great target in most settings despite the increased opportunity as a starter. Johnson is also a negligible fantasy option in most leagues.
Jan 30 - 6:13 PM

Jonas Jerebko scored seven points in a start against the Magic on Friday, adding eight rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.

Al Horford (groin) did not play, so this comes with a grain of salt. We saw Jerebko start on Wednesday, but the bottom line is coach Brad Stevens just plays the matchups too much. If JJ can do it again on Saturday, maybe that'll help his case as an add.
Jan 27 - 10:36 PM

Jonas Jerebko will start at power forward vs. the Magic on Friday night.

This is Jerebko's second consecutive start, after coming off the bench in each of his previous 43 games this season. Jonas finished with seven points on 3-of-3 shooting, seven rebounds, one assist and one block in his previous start on Wednesday. He can be left on waiver wires for now in most leagues, but it's worth keeping an eye on the situation to see if he continues to earn starts and increased minutes.
Jan 27 - 5:56 PM

Jonas Jerebko made a fill-in start on Wednesday, finishing a home win vs. the Rockets with seven points on 3-of-3 shooting, seven rebounds, one assist and one block.

Amir Johnson came off the bench tonight, but this may have been a one-game switch to match up vs. the Rockets. Jerebko also took a hard shot to the face tonight, causing him to leave briefly due to a bloody facial laceration. He'll need four stitches but doesn't expect to miss any time, and we're leaving him off the injury report. Feel free to grab him in deep leagues, in case he sticks, but be prepared to cut him again in a few days.
Jan 25 - 11:17 PM

Jonas Jerebko will move into the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, sending Amir Johnson back to the bench.

This is likely a matchup-based decision from head coach Brad Stevens to try and combat the Rockets' small-ball attack. Jerebko didn't do much in his previous start, tallying six points, five boards, two triples, one steal, one block and one turnover, so he's little more than a punt play in daily leagues.
Jan 25 - 5:52 PM

Jonas Jerebko returned from an illness and played 18 minutes on Tuesday, finishing with eight points, five rebounds and a block on 4-of-5 shooting in Tuesday's loss to the Wizards.

Amir Johnson was benched for the second half tonight so there's a chance that guys like Jerebko, Jaylen Brown or Kelly Olynyk could be ready to see a boost in minutes, if coach Brad Stevens puts Johnson into the doghouse. But as of now, Jerebko's not worth owning in most leagues.
Jan 24 - 11:27 PM

Jonas Jerebko (illness) will be available to play on Tuesday vs. the Wizards.

Jerebko will be returning from a one-game absence and he will likely push Jordan Mickey out of the rotation again. Jerebko is only averaging 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in January, so fantasy owners can ignore him.
Jan 23 - 1:28 PM

Jonas Jerebko (illness) will not play against the Blazers on Saturday.

He was probable, but the team will keep him out. With Jerebko and Tyler Zeller (illness) out, we might get a little Jordan Mickey action. There should be some extra run going to Amir Johnson and Kelly Olynyk as we ll. Olynyk has played well and is a viable option today. He's worth a look in standard leagues, but we've seen him fall off several times.
