Stan Van Gundy praised Jonas Jerebko's play during a recent interview.
"He's really focused on moving the ball and running to more pick and rolls, so our ball movement is much, much better with Jonas at the four than it is with our other guys," Van Gundy said. "He's just more tuned in to that. And he can stretch the floor out and shoot the ball, so you spread the defense out. And, really, with him at the four is our only chance to spread the defense out and get more room." Jerebko is averaging just 7.0 points and 2.7 rebounds over 16.5 minutes of action this season, so he can't be considered an asset in standard leagues. However, if an injury occurs to the Pistons' frontcourt, Jerebko will be a name to monitor. Nov 21 - 11:05 AM

Stan Van Gundy said it was a "mistake" not to find minutes for Jonas Jerebko in Saturday's game.

"“I didn’'t find minutes for him and I think that was a mistake,"” he said. Jerebko is averaging just 15 minutes over two games right now and is not on the fantasy radar.

Jonas Jerebko came off the bench for 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers on 3-of-5 shooting in 20 minutes on Tuesday.

If Josh Smith lands in Stan Van Gundy's doghouse, which is a good bet, Jerebko could quickly become relevant this season. He's not worth drafting, but will be worth keeping an eye on throughout the season.

Jonas Jerbeko appears to be the 10th man in the rotation for the Pistons.

First, coach Stan Van Gundy has to expand his rotation to 10. Jerebko is not a lock for playing time and will probably need an injury to get minutes in the teens.

Jonas Jerebko could be the odd man out of the Pistons rotation, according to the team's website.

He's not really capable of playing small forward, so it'll be tough for him to get run with Josh Smith looking to get more run at power forward. Jerebko had a career-best season from beyond the arc, which will be a big factor in his outlook this season. He's not worth drafting in any league right now.

Jonas Jerebko said he's hoping to fill the role as a stretch four for the Pistons this season.

While coach Stan Van Gundy said Jerebko could be part of the team's core, it's not going to be easy with Josh Smith expected to get more run at power forward. Jerebko is only worth a late-round flier in deep leagues for now.

Jonas Jerebko was one of seven players Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy identified as the team's "core."

Van Gundy is pleased with Jerebko's development, both physically and mentally, and his ability to shoot from outside should endear him to his new coach. Jerebko struggled last season, playing only 11.6 minutes per game, but he shot 41.9 percent from downtown and is worth keeping in mind as a flier pick in fantasy drafts.

Jonas Jerebko will pick up his $4.5 million player option for 2014-15, the final year of his contract with Detroit.

The 27-year-old is coming off a tough season during which he averaged 4.2 points in 11.6 minutes per game. "I feel like I can do much better than what I got the opportunity to show this past season," said Jerebko. He voiced his support for coach Stan Van Gundy, whose proclivity for 3-point shooters may give Jerebko a chance to revitalize his NBA career.
May 28 - 9:19 AM

Jonas Jerebko played 24 minutes vs. the Nets on Friday, scoring 16 points with five boards, four assists and one 3-pointer.

It's the third time in his last five games in which he's played at least 24 minutes. In that span, Jerebko averaged 6.4 points, 4.6 boards, 1.8 assists and 0.6 triples in 18.4 minutes. Obviously, those aren't awe-inspiring numbers, so fantasy owners can ignore him for the most part.
Apr 4 - 11:55 PM

Jonas Jerebko had a big game on Saturday with 22 points, nine rebounds and five 3-pointers, but it appears to have been nothing more than a fluke

He had four points and eight rebounds in 19 minutes on Wednesday, and seven points, eight rebounds and a 3-pointer on Monday. Keep an eye on him if you're in a deep league, but at this point, we're having trouble coming up with reasons to pick him up.
Mar 26 - 11:59 PM

Jonas Jerebko came out of nowhere to hit 8-of-12 shots and five 3-pointers to tie his career high with 22 points, nine rebounds and two steals.

He was just 1-of-4 from the line, but who cares? We hadn't even blurbed Jerebko since early December, which was about the last time he made any noise. This was his third game of the entire season with double-digit scoring, and while it's possible he could finish on a high note, we need to see what happens in his next couple games before telling you to give him a look.
Mar 23 - 1:13 AM

Jonas Jerebko scored 12 points off Detroit's bench on Sunday, and fellow reserve F Charlie Villanueva scored 10 points in the losing effort.

On Saturday it was Josh Harrellson who got hot, scoring 10 points, but Jorts was scoreless tonight and all three of the Pistons' reserve bigs belong on the waiver wire.

Jonas Jerebko did not see any minutes on Monday as the Pistons lost to the Blazers.

Maurice Cheeks decided to go with what was essentially an eight-man rotation on Monday, and Jerebko and Luigi Datome were the victims of that decision. Jerebko is only averaging seven minutes per game this season anyway, so while the "DNP Coach's Decision" next to his name comes as no surprise, it should serve to underscore the lack of usefulness that Jerebko provides to fantasy owners.

Jonas Jerebko was held out as a precaution on Tuesday, but he'll be part of Detroit's rotation for Thursday's exhibition.

Jerebko will return but Charlie Villanueva will get a day of planned rest, according to Mo Cheeks. The two veterans are vying for backup forward minutes in a crowded rotation, a situation custom-made to scare away fantasy owners.
