Jonas Jerebko is excited about his fresh start under Mo Cheeks.
"It feels good, I want to start playing right now and it's June," he said. "I'm just excited for a fresh start." After being glued to the bench under Lawrence Frank, we don't blame him. "I'm not going to lie. It was up and down," he said of his benching and inconsistent minutes. Jerebko and Cheeks have already spoken, so it looks like their relationship is off to a solid start. Jonas Jerebko did not get along with Lawrence Frank, and he's hopeful that Maurice Cheeks will give him a chance to play consistently.

"I’ve met Mo Cheeks, we’ve talked a few times," he said. "He’s a great guy and a great coach. We’ll see what happens." Regarding Frank, Jerebko said, "it was a tough year, looking back on it. I'm excited for a fresh start and I know my teammates are too." Part of why Frank was fired was due to his "poor player relations."
Jun 11 - 8:59 AM

Jonas Jerebko will play for the Swedish National team at the Eurobasket tournament.

Jerebko turned some heads toward the end of the season and he should be in line for a much more consistent role next year considering the Pistons could use him as a valuable reserve off the bench.
May 15 - 10:10 AM

Jonas Jerebko played 28 minutes off the bench on Friday and had 21 points, eight boards, one assist, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers against the Bobcats.

Yes, this line comes against the Bobcats and they give up big lines to plenty of guys. Although, Jerebko's value has potentially skyrocketed with Andre Drummond going down with an ankle injury tonight. He could emerge as a must-start player on Monday, so plan accordingly.
Apr 12 - 11:31 PM

Jonas Jerebko sank 7-of-8 field goals (including one 3-pointer) vs. the Bulls on Sunday, finishing with 17 points, nine rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes.

It may have taken a season-ending eye injury to Jason Maxiell, but Jerebko has finally emerged with a reliable role in Detroit's rotation. His effective bench play helped the Pistons earn their first win vs. the Bulls since 2008, a span of 18 consecutive losses.
Apr 7 - 10:23 PM

Jonas Jerebko scored 20 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 9-of-14 shots (no threes) with five rebounds and one assist in 28 minutes.

Jerebko has been very inconsistent so it's going to take more than one bad game to get owners excited. If he can keep it up we'll let you know.
Mar 30 - 12:15 AM

Jonas Jerebko started for injured Jason Maxiell (ankle) in Monday's loss to the Jazz, scoring 15 points on 5-of-14 shooting (including a three) with seven rebounds and a steal in 29 minutes.

The power forward position in Detroit has been a merry go round, but with Brandon Knight suffering a 'significant' ankle sprain and nobody truly distinguishing themselves -- maybe J.J. can get things moving in the right direction. He's a flier pickup at best right now and definitely suited for deeper formats at this time.
Mar 12 - 12:04 AM

Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said that he plans to use a three-man rotation at power forward "for a little bit."

"We're going to continue to shake the tree," he said. "We're going to look at some different things, not just at that spot but at other spots, as well." Frank likes to change his rotations on the fly often, but it sounds like Jonas Jerebko will get a chance to contribute after his 21-point explosion on Monday.

Feb 26 - 7:45 AM

Jonas Jerebko scored a season-high 21 points against the Hawks on Monday to go with six boards, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer on 9-of-12 shooting.

He did a lot of his damage in garbage time, but he did get much more playing time than Charlie Villanueva (two points and two boards in seven minutes). JJ may get hot in the short term for deeper leagues, but Andre Drummond could be back in a week, which means there's very little appeal to adding him.
Feb 25 - 10:52 PM

Jonas Jerebko was the first small forward off the bench for the Pistons on Wednesday after Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye were made inactive due to a pending trade to Memphis.

Jerebko has seen most of his minutes at power forward this season, but wasn't getting much run with Andre Drummond playing so well off the bench. He should see a boost in minutes and opportunities with the Pistons so thin at SF now, so keep a close eye on him going forward.
Jan 30 - 7:42 PM

Jonas Jerebko told a website in his native Sweden that coming off the bench is "not something I'm used to or that I will get used to, either."

Jerebko's frustration with his role has been well known for quite some time, but it seems to be bubbling over now. Jerebko's father told the same Swedish media outlet that he hopes Lawrence Frank is no longer the Pistons' coach next season. We're not sure how this will end, but we're very certain Jerebko has no fantasy value in any format.

Jan 23 - 4:12 PM

Jonas Jerebko has eyes on returning to the rotation.

Jerebko has not played one second since December 21. "I want to play in every game," he said. "Of course I'm disappointed, but all I can do is keep working hard, and that's what I'm doing, and I feel good about what I'm doing." He has no fantasy value in any format right now.
Jan 17 - 9:24 AM

Jonas Jerebko admitted that he wants more playing time and doesn't like not being in the rotation.

Lawrence Frank replaced Jerebko with Charlie Villanueva in the rotation, and with the move working so far, Jerebko is looking like the odd man out. "Of course you don't want to sit on the bench," he said. Jerebko is off the fantasy radar right now.

Jonas Jerebko hit 4-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 11 points, six rebounds and three steals in Tuesday's loss, as the Pistons fell to 0-4.

Jerebko led the team in scoring with 18 points on Sunday, and could be ready to go on a run. He's not a must-own player, by any means, but is worth keeping an eye on going forward.
Tue, Nov 6, 2012 11:59:00 PM

Jonas Jerebko led the Pistons with 18 points on Sunday, adding two rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes off the bench.

Jerebko is a talented player whose role could grow during the season, but don't put much stock in this line -- none of Detroit's starters scored double-digit points or played more than 27 minutes, so there was an inordinate amount of playing time available.
