Jonas Jerebko failed to score in 14 minutes vs. Orlando on Wednesday, but he did pitch in four rebounds and four assists.
Jerebko was back on the bench after a fill-in start for Amir Johnson on Monday. He's shooting a career-high 49.4 percent from the field this year, including 48.5 percent from deep, but simply isn't getting enough minutes to make a dent in standard leagues. Dec 7 - 10:23 PM

Date:

Jonas Jerebko will move back to the bench on Wednesday against the Magic.

He may have got the start against the up-tempo Rockets, but the Celtics get a matchup on the other end of the spectrum tonight. Jerebko should be around his 17.4 minutes-per-game average tonight and doesn't have much value.
Dec 7 - 5:41 PM

Jonas Jerebko started over Amir Johnson on Monday and had six points, five rebounds, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in 21 minutes.

That's basically what he does off the bench, minus the blocks and steal, but he had one of his better games in recent memory with the two 3-pointers. If he sticks in the starting five, give him a look, but this move may have just been based on matching up with the small Rockets.
Dec 6 - 12:05 AM

Jonas Jerebko will start over Amir Johnson on Monday vs. the Rockets.

It's likely just a matchup move for Boston, as Jerebko will be a better fit against Houston's Ryan Anderson. Unless we learn that this a permanent switch, it's safe to leave Jerebko on the wire in most leagues.
Dec 5 - 7:58 PM

Jonas Jerebko scored six points with six rebounds, two assists, one steal and no turnovers in 22 minutes against the Bulls on Wednesday.

He saw some crunch time minutes because of the injuries to Jae Crowder (ankle) and Al Horford. Excluding Horford, coach Brad Stevens has a very inconsistent frontcourt rotation, so it's going to be tough to trust someone like Jerebko on a nightly basis.
Nov 3 - 1:09 AM

Jonas Jerebko said he wants to shoot 45 percent from deep this season.

"I've been trying to speed up my release so I can get my shot off quicker," Jerebko said. "I feel like when I first got into the NBA, my shot was not really something that people knew that I did. But every year I've become better and better and, the last two years, I've been shooting 40 percent from 3. I'm looking to go even [higher]." The Celtics have been using a lot of small-ball lineups in the preseason, but Jerebko might be the first big off the bench with Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) still on the shelf. Jerebko averaged 4.4 points, 3.7 boards and 0.6 treys in 15.1 minutes last season.

Oct 14 - 10:07 AM

Jonas Jerebko started the second half of Saturday's preseason game vs. Charlotte for Jae Crowder (rest), finishing with seven points, two rebounds and a block on 2-of-5 shooting.

Jerebko also hit a 3-pointer, but this type of performance doesn't leave anything to get excited about. Keep in mind that Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Al Horford and Amir Johnson all sat out of this one.

Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe expects Jonas Jerebko to be a key contributor off the bench for the Celtics this season.

The Celtics picked up the final year of Jerebko's contract, an easy decision based on his play during the postseason. Despite playing just 15.1 minutes per game during the regular season, he averaged 9.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 treys in 27.0 minutes per game in the playoffs, earning the trust of coach Brad Stevens in the process. The Celtics lost Jared Sullinger in free agency but added Al Horford, so the frontcourt will likely be too crowded for Jerebko to have any real fantasy value this season.
Sep 5 - 9:57 AM

The Boston Globe is reporting that the Celtics will guarantee Jonas Jerebko's contract for the 2016-17 season.

The 29-year-old serves as a solid stretch-PF off the bench for the Celtics, but he faces an uphill battle for big minutes. Jerebko only averaged 4.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in 15.1 minutes per game last season and won't have much 2016-17 fantasy value unless the Celtics suffer a slew of injuries.
Jul 7 - 9:34 AM

The "consensus" is that the Celtics will retain Jonas Jerebko at $5 million next season, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

The deal was non-guaranteed but it's a solid value, and Boston would likely have already guaranteed it if they weren't chasing Kevin Durant. The 29-year-old forward gives the Celtics a true stretch-PF, as he went 39.8 percent from deep last season, but his fantasy value is stifled by the presence of Al Horford and Kelly Olynyk, as well as the potential return of Amir Johnson and Jared Sullinger.
Jul 4 - 2:34 PM

Danny Ainge said "nothing has been decided" regarding the team option on Jonas Jerebko.

The Celtics have a team option worth $5 million on Jerebko for the 2016-17 season, but he's likely the least of Boston's concerns with guys like Kevin Durant, Hassan Whiteside, Al Horford and Dwight Howard all set to hit the open market this summer. Jerebko is unlikely to land in a situation where he'll be able to establish himself as a standard league option in fantasy hoops.
May 4 - 1:45 PM

Jonas Jerebko scores 13 points with one rebound, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes during a loss to the Hawks on Thursday.

The Celtics gave him some minutes at small forward with some foul trouble for Jae Crowder. Jerebko benefited from the matchup in the postseason and certainly because of Avery Bradley (hamstring) missing time -- the Celtics needed spacing. He'll be under contract next year and will likely slide down the depth chart again.
Apr 28 - 10:46 PM

Jonas Jerebko cooled off in Tuesday's loss to the Hawks, scoring six points on 2-of-4 shooting.

The Celtics lost by 27 points, so Jerebko only played 24 minutes and added eight rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals. His DFS owners were expecting a lot more from him tonight after posting two straight double-doubles, but no one on the Celtics played well in Game 5 except for Evan Turner. If anything, hopefully this will keep his price low in DFS.
Apr 26 - 11:22 PM

Celtics coach Brad Stevens heaped praise on Jonas Jerebko prior to Game 4, which he finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

"[Jerebko] plays really, really, hard," Stevens said. "He's got versatility with regard to defensively ... And then his scoring is just a plus. You know, if he scores, he scores; if not, he's still spacing for us." Jerebko more than justified his coach's faith tonight, shooting 6-of-9 with multiple clutch baskets. His move to the starting lineup has benefited Boston in reality, and he's worth considering as a DFS punt-play.

Apr 24 - 9:13 PM

The Celtics will start Evan Turner and Jonas Jerebko again in Game 4 vs. the Hawks on Sunday.

This means that Marcus Smart and Jared Sullinger will come off the bench again. Jerebko scored 11 points with 12 rebounds, four assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes in Game 3 and Turner also played well with 17 points, seven assists and five steals, so it's a no-brainer for the Celtics. Both Jerebko and Turner are solid plays tonight.
