The Pacers have been granted a second hardship exception.
The NBA granted the Pacers a second exception with all of the injuries the team has sustained, and that means A.J. Price will remain with the club for at least the next 10 days. He'll continue to backup Donald Sloan while George Hill (ankle) and C.J. Watson (foot) stay sidelined. Nov 17 - 11:07 AM

A.J. Price was huge off the bench against the Bulls with 21 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes.

It's his second 20-point game in his last four and he's shot the ball well in his last five, making 51.9 percent from the field for 14.6 points, 2.0 boards, 2.6 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.6 treys in that span. Price is still not worth owning in most leagues and we'd prefer Donald Sloan.
Nov 15 - 11:37 PM

A.J. Price scored 14 points with two rebounds, four assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes.

This game was a blowout, which is why Donald Sloan's minutes were down. Price isn't worth owning in most leagues considering he'll lose a lot of value once C.J. Watson comes back.
Nov 14 - 10:40 PM

A.J. Price, who had 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting in 25 minutes on Monday, hit just 3-of-12 shots for seven points in 19 minutes on Wednesday.

Donald Sloan bounced back from an off night on Monday and Price was a non-factor tonight. He could get loose for a nice game here and there, but as long as Sloan is starting, Price is an afterthought.
Nov 12 - 10:55 PM

After a strong showing during Monday's win over the Jazz, A.J. Price said he's playing for his basketball life.

"I'm playing for my life, man," Price said Monday's win. "I'm staying till they tell me to go or tell me to stay longer, either or. I just worry about what I can control. I'm out here right now; I'm here. I'm going to keep playing as hard as I can, 110 percent every day." Price scored 22 points with one rebound, one assists, and three treys in the win, but it's hard to recommend him as anything more than a deep league pickup as he's stuck playing alongside Donald Sloan until George Hill (knee) and C.J. Watson (foot) are back.
Nov 11 - 10:47 AM

A.J. Price got hot against the Jazz during a 97-86 win on Monday, making 8-of-12 from the field for 22 points with one rebound, one assist and three 3-pointers.

He was so hot that coach Frank Vogel played him next to Donald Sloan down the stretch. Price was just picked up on Nov. 6 and it's pretty clear the team will be counting on him until George Hill (knee) or C.J. Watson (foot) get back. He's still only an option in deep leagues.
Nov 10 - 10:40 PM

A.J. Price played 14 minutes in his debut against the Celtics on Friday with five points, four boards and one 3-pointer.

He's going to back up Donald Sloan for the next week or so until C.J. Watson (foot) comes back. Price is not worth owning in almost any league.
Nov 8 - 1:09 AM

A.J. Price will be available to play Friday vs. the Celtics.

Price will serve as emergency depth for the Pacers, but they're in need of that emergency depth right now with George Hill (knee), C.J. Watson (foot), and Rodney Stuckey (foot) all sidelined. Price will help backup Donald Sloan at the point guard position, but coach Frank Vogel said that most of the minutes will go to Sloan. Price looks like more of a deep league asset right now.
Nov 7 - 2:06 PM

Pacers sign G A.J. Price.

Price is coming in as as an emergency depth move with all of the injuries the Pacers have racked up. With Donald Sloan starting because C.J. Watson (foot) and George Hill (knee) remain out indefinitely, Price should contribute right away off the bench. It's also worth noting Rodney Stuckey (foot) is out as well.
Nov 6 - 5:48 PM

Updating a previous item, A.J. Price is expected to sign with the Pacers on Thursday, according to Yahoo Sports.

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reports that Price is on his way to Boston to sign with the Pacers as they need to use their hardship exemption before Thursday's game against the Celtics. It seems as if Gal Mekel's visa holdup proved too difficult to solve, so the Pacers moved onto Plan B in Price. While he'll see some time as Donald Sloan's backup, Price doesn't provide any fantasy value beyond deeper leagues.
Nov 6 - 12:52 PM

The Indiana Pacers may look to A.J. Price for backcourt help if Gal Mekel's visa issues prevent him from signing a contract.

The Pacers need to use their hardship exemption before Thursday's game against Boston and Mekel's visa issues may force the team to look in Price's direction. The lack of backcourt depth in Indiana will provide Price with an opportunity to contribute if he signs, but fantasy owners in standard leagues don't need to concern themselves with this situation.

Cavs waive PG A.J. Price.

This gives Cleveland one free roster spot to explore the free agent market. Price wasn't part of the rotation, riding the bench as a DNP-CD to start the season, so his departure doesn't impact fantasy lineups.

Nov 1 - 5:13 PM

A.J. Price came off the bench and had 14 points, four rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers on 6-of-12 shooting Wednesday.

He's just trying to make the team and become a third-string point guard, and looked pretty good in this one.
Oct 16 - 12:27 AM

The Cavs have added A.J. Price to their training camp roster.

He's been fairly quiet since the Wizards needed him back in 2012-13 when John Wall had a knee injury to start the season. Price played just 3.5 minutes per game with the Wolves last season.
Sep 22 - 9:26 AM

Timberwolves waive A.J. Price.

He had an appendectomy in the middle of last month and still hasn't made it back on the court, but was out of the rotation anyway. There are a couple things that come to mind with this move: Ricky Rubio's ankle is likely fine and the Wolves are probably looking to add a big man instead of another guard on the end of their bench. Dante Cunningham has legal trouble and Nikola Pekovic (ankle) is a shut-down candidate. Price played just 3.5 minutes per game with the Wolves this season.
