Garrett Temple will exercise his player option for the 2015-16 season.
It was a no-brainer for Temple, who probably wouldn't fetch more than the minimum next season. The Wizards will use him as a backup combo guard next season and he's unlikely to be in the rotation. Jun 15 - 3:40 PM

Date:

Garrett Temple is likely to exercise his player option for next season and remain with the Wizards.

Temple isn't guaranteed to find a roster spot on another NBA team if he tests free agency, so this is the smart move on his behalf. He's not on the fantasy radar.
May 18 - 1:02 PM

Garrett Temple returned from a nearly two-month absence on Tuesday to score two points with one rebound, one assist and one steal in 13 minutes off the bench.

Temple strained his hamstring and hadn't played since March 9, but John Wall's wrist injury thrust him into a key role behind starting PG Ramon Sessions. He's ahead of Will Bynum (DNP-CD) on the depth chart, but that's not saying much -- he's a fantasy pariah whether or not Wall is ready for Saturday's game.
May 5 - 10:54 PM

Head coach Randy Wittman confirmed that Garrett Temple (hamstring) will be available for Game 1 vs. the Hawks on Sunday.

Temple has been on the shelf since Mar. 9 and just recently returned to practice on Friday, so there is no guarantee that he sees the floor today. With the Wizards at full strength, Temple will find it hard to carve out a significant role in this series.
May 3 - 11:34 AM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) is warming up to play in Game 1 vs. the Hawks on Sunday.

Temple made it through practice on Friday and is expected to be available to play today, so this is definitely a good sign. However, he has been sidelined since Mar. 9, and with the way Otto Porter has been playing off the bench, Temple probably won't see many minutes right out of the gate.
May 3 - 11:10 AM

Garrett Temple went through practice on Friday and will be available for Game 1 in the second round.

Temple had a hamstring strain with some tearing and has been out since Mar. 9. With Otto Porter really stepping up and Bradley Beal logging major minutes, there are not a lot of minutes available for Temple.
May 1 - 2:06 PM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) has progressed to going through individual drills, and he should be ready to play for the Wizards' second-round series.

As long as John Wall and Bradley Beal are healthy, Temple is going to have a tough time getting consistent minutes in Washington's rotations. He'll fight with Ramon Sessions for reserve minutes, but his fantasy value is essentially non-existent playing in a limited role off the bench for the Wizards.
Apr 28 - 2:17 PM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) has still not been able to practice.

Temple isn't close to being ready for any game-time action, and it'll be Ramon Sessions serving as Washington's primary backup point guard for however long he's sidelined. As long as John Wall is healthy, the backup point guards in Washington will remain non-options in fantasy leagues.
Apr 23 - 3:03 PM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) got a lot of shots up during the Wizards' practice on Sunday, and there's a chance he can return later in their first round series against the Raptors.

Temple isn't a major part of the Wizards' rotations, and considering he's been sidelined since March 9, he would likely return in a very limited role. Ramon Sessions will be Washington's primary backup point guard for as long as Temple is sidelined, but he's not going to get enough minutes to matter in almost any format.
Apr 19 - 2:25 PM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday, and he will not play when the Wizards kick off their series against the Raptors on Saturday.

Temple said that he's hopeful to play at some point during the playoffs, but he's not a major piece to Washington's puzzle, and he'd be unlikely to earn many minutes even when he's eventually cleared to return. Ramon Sessions and Will Bynum will continue to get a bulk of the backup point guard minutes for the Wizards, but with John Wall healthy, they're going to be nearly invisible on the stat sheet.
Apr 16 - 4:18 PM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) will not suit up for Tuesday's game vs. the Pacers.

Ramon Sessions and Will Bynum will split Temple's reserve minutes, but with John Wall healthy, neither guy is worth owning in most leagues.
Apr 14 - 6:55 PM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) is targeting a return on Apr. 12 or 14 and is currently at 80 percent.

He's questionable to return this regular season. With Temple out, Otto Porter and Martell Webster will get a little more playing time. Temple was expected to miss 4-6 weeks and this coming Monday will be four weeks.
Apr 3 - 4:50 PM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) did not participate in practice on Thursday.

Temple is progressing as he was able to get some running in on the practice floor, but he's still not worth owning in any fantasy leagues. Even if he is able to return on Friday against the Knicks, he won't see enough minutes to make a difference for fantasy owners.
Apr 2 - 1:55 PM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) did not practice on Tuesday.

Temple has been sidelined since March 9, has not been able to practice, and remains without a clear timetable to return. We're going to consider him very doubtful for Wednesday's game vs. the 76ers, and he belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Mar 31 - 2:09 PM

Garrett Temple (hamstring) will not play vs. the Rockets on Sunday.

Temple still isn't practicing and he is probably looking at some additional time on the sidelines. He wasn't a fantasy asset even when he was healthy, so he belongs on the waiver wire in just about all leagues.
