Garrett Temple had another quiet game on Tuesday with five points, three assists and one steal vs. the Hawks, but he continues to start at SG ahead of Bradley Beal.
Temple got off to a fast start this season but to say he's slowed down is an understatement -- he's scored a combined 21 points in the Wizards' past eight games. He's a steady source of steals, which could come in handy in very deep formats, but that's about it. Nov 25 - 9:49 PM

Date:

Garrett Temple played just 10 minutes and didn't score against the Cavs on Friday.

His run is over now that Bradley Beal is back and ready to roll. Temple did overachieve, but he can be cut everywhere now.
Nov 22 - 12:53 AM

Garrett Temple has been dealing with a minor right wrist injury.

Temple came out of the gates firing this year, but over the past five games his play has fallen off substantially, as he's only averaging 2.6 points per game. Bradley Beal's impending return from his own wrist injury further clouds Temple's fantasy value, and he can be cut in nearly all formats.
Nov 18 - 4:16 PM

Garrett Temple played just 23 minutes against the Magic on Saturday with one point, three rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block.

It wasn't a bad line, but the minutes are the issue here. Bradley Beal (wrist) is expected to be back on Friday, so Temple owners should be looking elsewhere for the upcoming week.
Nov 15 - 9:57 PM

Garrett Temple stayed cold against the Pacers on Saturday with three points, six rebounds, two assists, one block and one 3-poitner in 31 minutes.

He had just three points on Friday and that three-game stretch of 17.0 points per game from earlier this season has come to a screeching haul. Temple is not worth owning in most leagues and will lose a lot of minutes upon Bradley Beal's (wrist) return.
Nov 8 - 10:03 PM

Garrett Temple made another start at SG on Wednesday and had 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and four 3-pointers on 6-of-14 shooting in an OT win over the Pacers.

That's not all, as he played a team-high 43 minutes. He'll quickly fade away once Bradley Beal is healthy, but Temple is now averaging 15.75 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 3.0 3-pointers over his last four games. If you can get him into your lineup, do it before Beal gets healthy.
Nov 6 - 12:54 AM

Wizards guard Garrett Temple finished Tuesday's road win with 17 points, four 3-pointers, five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 30 minutes as the team's starting SG.

The job is Temple's to lose until Bradley Beal (wrist) gets back on the court and he's making the most of the opportunity, to say the least. He's shooting 48.0 percent from the field, 46.2 percent from downtown and 85.7 percent from the FT line, all of which would shatter his previous career highs. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Nov 4 - 10:03 PM

Garrett Temple is playing with "great confidence," according to Coach Randy Wittman.

Temple is averaging 12 points, 1.7 steals and a couple of 3-pointers through a few games so far while filling in for Bradley Beal (wrist). Interestingly, Temple is taking pride in his clean-cut look and feels it's helped him earn opportunities in the NBA. "You want guys that are not knuckleheads," he said. Wittman called Temple his "utility infielder" and appears to have great trust in him.
Nov 3 - 1:01 PM

Garrett Temple scored 18 points against the Bucks on Saturday with one rebound, one assist, three steals and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes

He's been great so far and he's actually received more passes from John Wall than any other player. Temple could be a low-end pickup if he keeps it going like this, but the fact that the Wizards could play Otto Porter at shooting guard will always be a threat.
Nov 2 - 1:20 AM

Garrett Temple started at shooting guard for the banged up Wizards on Wednesday and had six points, seven rebounds, an assist, two steals and two 3-pointers on 2-of-8 shooting.

He might get some decent run as long as Bradley Beal and Glen Rice Jr. are out for the Wiz. Beal is going to miss a few weeks, but Rice should be back on the court soon, meaning Temple's days as a starter could be numbered.
Oct 30 - 12:34 AM

Garrett Temple is starting against the Heat on Wednesday.

It's not a surprise and we're still waiting on Glen Rice Jr.'s status. Temple won't have a lot of plays run for him, so he's not a great fantasy option.
Oct 29 - 6:53 PM

Garrett Temple played a game-high 42 minutes against the Pelicans on Monday during an 88-84 loss, scoring 13 points with three rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block.

He's in a battle with Otto Porter for the starting shooting guard spot and has played well. Temple also ran the point quite a bit tonight, so it might make sense to bring him off the bench. He's only a low-end add in very deep leagues while Bradley Beal (wrist) is out.
Oct 20 - 10:16 PM

Garrett Temple started Friday's 96-86 exhibition loss to the Bobcats despite a nagging thigh injury, and finished with eight points, one assist, two steals and a block in 30 minutes.

Like most of the injuries you're reading about these days it's not serious. Should Randy Wittman decide he'd rather bring Otto Porter off the bench while Bradley Beal and Glen Rice Jr. are out, then Temple might sneak into some short-term deep league value.
Oct 17 - 11:12 PM

Garrett Temple is dealing with a thigh issue and is still working out.

He is not scrimmaging just yet and it's just a minor problem. Temple signed a two-year deal over the summer, but he's unlikely to get significant minutes while the Wizards are close to full strength.
Sep 24 - 2:26 PM

Garrett Temple will re-sign with the Wizards.

It's a two-year deal for Temple at around the veteran minimum. The Wizards were relavtively healthy last season, so Temple only played 8.5 minutes per game. They may need him to start the season with Martell Webster's (back) injury, or they could give Glen Rice Jr. some run.
