Alonzo Gee is likely to start for Danilo Gallinari (thigh) against the Thunder on Friday.

Coach Mike Malone said he likes the idea of having Gee on Russell Westbrook to start the game. Gee likely won't do much on the offensive side and is likely only looking at minutes around 20, so he's not a fantasy option on a 15-game day. Wilson Chandler should get some more run at the three than usual while Darrell Arthur should pick up plenty of extra burn.

Alonzo Gee made his Nuggets debut on Wednesday with one assist in four minutes off the bench.

"In the past I've always admired him from afar," coach Mike Malone said before the game. "I like his approach." That admiration is nice but it won't translate to fantasy value in Denver.
Nov 17 - 12:42 AM

The Nuggets have signed Alonzo Gee.

The Nuggets lost Gary Harris (foot) for four weeks and Will Barton (ankle) isn't ready to return, so they needed some depth on the wings. Gee is more of a defender and isn't guaranteed minutes, so he can be left on the wire.
Nov 15 - 10:16 PM

The Pelicans have waived Alonzo Gee.

The final decision came down to Gee vs. Lance Stephenson, but with Tyreke Evans (knee) and Jrue Holiday (personal) set to begin the year on the sidelines, Stephenson's playmaking ability became a need and likely put him over the top. Gee will be paid $1.2 million to not play for New Orleans this season, but he should be able to latch on with another team. He's not a fantasy option in any scenario, though.
Oct 24 - 10:47 AM

The Pelicans are expected to choose between Alonzo Gee and Lance Stephenson for the final roster spot.

Given the injuries that New Orleans has in its backcourt, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Pelicans opt for Born Ready's playmaking over keeping Gee. We'll have our answer one way or another no later than Monday afternoon.
Oct 22 - 5:01 PM

Alonzo Gee has signed with the Pelicans, according to Mike Scotto of Sheridan Hoops.

Gee's one-year deal is $1.4 million and will bring the 29-year-old to New Orleans as bench depth. While Gee will help provide the Pelicans with a veteran presence off the bench, he won't have much fantasy value in 2016-17.
Jul 21 - 11:39 AM

Alonzo Gee is finalizing a one-year deal with the Pelicans.

Gee's representatives and the Pelicans are hoping to finalize the deal in the next day. Due to the Pelicans having so many injuries late in the year, Gee played 25.9 minutes per game in March. He did suffer a quad tear to end his season on Mar. 28. He'll likely just be emergency depth.
Jul 20 - 2:28 PM

Alonzo Gee will become an unrestricted free agent after declining his player option with the Pelicans.

Gee's season ended in late March with a torn right quad muscle, finishing his seventh NBA season with modest averages of 4.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.9 steals in 22.2 minutes per game. With the salary cap rising a minimum contract would represent a raise from his $1.4 million player option and (if he's healthy enough to compete at training camp) Gee stands a good chance of securing a guaranteed deal.
Jun 29 - 10:58 PM

Alonzo Gee has been diagnosed with a complete tear of right proximal rectus femoris and will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

The injuries just keep piling up in New Orleans, and the Pelicans now have more injured players on the roster than healthy ones. With Gee done for the year, Dante Cunningham, Luke Babbitt and Jordan Hamilton will be logging major minutes for a Pelicans team that has been decimated by injuries, and Babbitt is worth a look in deep leagues for those seeking a 3-point specialist.
Mar 29 - 3:50 PM

Alonzo Gee (quad) will not return to Monday's game vs. the Knicks.

He actually started the second half and was playing well, so this is a shame. It's a right quad injury, but the severity is not known at the moment. He finished with nine points, two boards, one assist and two steals in 20 minutes. If Gee misses more time, Luke Babbitt will benefit.
Mar 28 - 9:42 PM

Alonzo Gee will come off the bench on Monday vs. the Knicks.

Gee played 41 minutes in each of his last two games, but that isn't going to happen with Jrue Holiday (toe) back. Leave Gee on the wire.
Mar 28 - 7:35 PM

Alonzo Gee scored a season-high 18 points vs. the Raptors on Saturday with eight boards, two assists and one steal in 41 minutes.

He scored 17 points in his last outing and has now played 41 minutes in two straight games. Jordan Hamilton debuted and played 24 minutes, but it's a good sign for Gee that he didn't lose playing time. He has very little upside, but he's at least on the radar in deeper leagues while he's getting this many minutes. This is what the Pelicans have become.
Mar 26 - 10:28 PM

The Pelicans will start Toney Douglas, Alonzo Gee, Dante Cunningham, Alexis Ajinca and Omer Asik on Saturday.

It's the same lineup, but Jordan Hamilton should take minutes from Gee.
Mar 26 - 6:59 PM

Alonzo Gee scored a season-high 17 points on 7-of-14 from the field against the Pacers on Thursday with three rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 41 minutes.

He only had an 8.5 usage rate this season, but the Pelicans had no choice. Gee barely ran isolation plays all season and he almost never had anything drawn up for him. If the Pelicans aren't going to have Jrue Holiday (toe), Gee could have value in deep leagues.
