Alonzo Gee has been diagnosed with a complete tear of right proximal rectus femoris and will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season.
The injuries just keep piling up in New Orleans, and the Pelicans now have more injured players on the roster than healthy ones. With Gee done for the year, Dante Cunningham, Luke Babbitt and Jordan Hamilton will be logging major minutes for a Pelicans team that has been decimated by injuries, and Babbitt is worth a look in deep leagues for those seeking a 3-point specialist. Alonzo Gee (quad) will not return to Monday's game vs. the Knicks.

He actually started the second half and was playing well, so this is a shame. It's a right quad injury, but the severity is not known at the moment. He finished with nine points, two boards, one assist and two steals in 20 minutes. If Gee misses more time, Luke Babbitt will benefit.
Mar 28 - 9:42 PM

Alonzo Gee will come off the bench on Monday vs. the Knicks.

Gee played 41 minutes in each of his last two games, but that isn't going to happen with Jrue Holiday (toe) back. Leave Gee on the wire.
Mar 28 - 7:35 PM

Alonzo Gee scored a season-high 18 points vs. the Raptors on Saturday with eight boards, two assists and one steal in 41 minutes.

He scored 17 points in his last outing and has now played 41 minutes in two straight games. Jordan Hamilton debuted and played 24 minutes, but it's a good sign for Gee that he didn't lose playing time. He has very little upside, but he's at least on the radar in deeper leagues while he's getting this many minutes. This is what the Pelicans have become.
Mar 26 - 10:28 PM

The Pelicans will start Toney Douglas, Alonzo Gee, Dante Cunningham, Alexis Ajinca and Omer Asik on Saturday.

It's the same lineup, but Jordan Hamilton should take minutes from Gee.
Mar 26 - 6:59 PM

Alonzo Gee scored a season-high 17 points on 7-of-14 from the field against the Pacers on Thursday with three rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 41 minutes.

He only had an 8.5 usage rate this season, but the Pelicans had no choice. Gee barely ran isolation plays all season and he almost never had anything drawn up for him. If the Pelicans aren't going to have Jrue Holiday (toe), Gee could have value in deep leagues.
Mar 24 - 9:18 PM

Alonzo Gee will start Thursday vs. the Pacers, with Jrue Holiday (toe) unavailable.

The Pelicans will roll out a starting five of Toney Douglas, Gee, Dante Cunningham, Luke Babbitt and Omer Asik for Thursday's matchup with Indiana, a game that they will enter with just eight healthy bodies. Gee will be starting, but Tim Frazier and Douglas make for the more attractive DFS targets.

Alonzo Gee played 31 minutes with 10 points, five rebounds, one assist and four steals against the Warriors on Monday.

That's actually a decent line for fantasy purposes, but Gee just doesn't do anything noteworthy on offense. He's only worth a look in ridiculously deep leagues.
Mar 15 - 1:23 AM

Alonzo Gee will start on Monday vs. the Warriors.

This is the Pelicans 33rd different lineup this season. Gee is not a fantasy option and is averaging 3.9 points per game.
Mar 14 - 9:09 PM

Alonzo Gee finished Wednesday's game with four points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in 24 minutes, and he moved into the starting lineup after halftime.

The Pelicans' defense was atrocious in the first half, so coach Alvin Gentry shifted Gee and Toney Douglas into the starting unit in place of Omer Asik and Orlando Johnson. New Orleans proceeded to hold the Hornets to "only" 51 points in the second half, after a 71-point first half, so the move paid off. Gee isn't a standard-league asset even if he does continue to start.
Mar 9 - 10:28 PM

Alonzo Gee is expected to come off the bench on Saturday vs. the Wolves.

Eric Gordon (finger) will be making his return to the lineup tonight, so Gee's role is going to take a massive hit. He belongs on the wire in almost all leagues.
Feb 27 - 12:12 PM

Alonzo Gee started in place of Bryce Dejean-Jones (wrist) on Thursday vs. the Thunder and played 23 minutes, finishing scoreless with one board and two assists.

He didn't even attempt a shot tonight, but to his credit he played some solid defense. Even if BDJ misses more time, Gee isn't worth a look in almost any format.
Feb 25 - 11:39 PM

Alonzo Gee is officially starting on Thursday against the Thunder.

Your Pelicans starting backcourt: Norris Cole and Alonzo Gee. They will join Dante Cunningham Anthony Davis and Alexis Ajinca. With Bryce Dejean-Jones (wrist) out, Gee, Toney Douglas and Dante Cunningham should barely benefit.
Feb 25 - 7:31 PM

Alvin Gentry said that Alonzo Gee will likely start at the two-spot for Thursday's game vs. the Thunder with Bryce Dejean-Jones (fractured wrist) out.

Through 34 starts this season, Gee owns meager averages of 4.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game, so him starting means very little in most leagues. Toney Douglas will likely earn some extended run tonight with the Pelicans hurting for backcourt depth, but he's not much more than a streamer option for those seeking some steals and 3-point shooting.
Feb 25 - 6:24 PM

Alonzo Gee is starting at shooting guard on Thursday against the Thunder.

It was expected to be Toney Douglas, but the Pelicans will go bigger. Gee is not an option tonight.
