Jan 18 - 10:05 AM

The Grizzlies have officially signed Elliot Williams to a 10-day contract.

With Mike Conley (Achilles), Courtney Lee (hip) and Jordan Adams (knee) all on the shelf, this signing couldn't have come at a better time. Williams could get minutes in the rotation right away, but for now he is only on the radar in deeper leagues. He will be active on Friday vs. the Nuggets and could reportedly see some time at point guard.

The Grizzlies are reportedly set to offer a 10-day contract to G Elliot Williams.

He won't be a significant part of the rotation in Memphis, but his addition to the roster will likely result in Ryan Hollins being waived.

The Hornets are now at 15 players to start the season.

Elliot Williams returned from a strained left hip flexor on Saturday with nine points, two 3-pointers, one rebound and one steal in 15 minutes vs. the Knicks.

Williams isn't a lock to make Charlotte's final roster and his preseason injury didn't help matters. Jeremy Lin (illness), P.J. Hairston (calf) and Brian Roberts (knee) are all expected to play vs. Chicago on Monday, meaning we're unlikely to see much from Williams.

Elliot Williams (left hip flexor strain) will play on Saturday vs. the Knicks.

Williams has some serious durability issues and he is really going to have to impress if he wants the final roster spot on the Hornets. Fantasy owners can safely ignore him.

Elliot Williams (left hip flexor strain) did not practice on Friday.

He just can't stay healthy. Williams showed some promise about five years ago, but the injuries have really hurt his chances for playing time.

Elliot Williams has battled several injuries throughout his NBA career, but he hopes that he can make an impact in Charlotte now that he finally 100 percent healthy.

"Last year was my (first) really-full year of being healthy," Williams said. "Now I feel like I’m 100 percent and ready to go." Williams has a career scoring average of 5.1 points in 13.7 minutes per game, and he has the capability of playing both guard spots. The Hornets already had the maximum of 15 players under contract before they signed Williams, so it's certainly not a lock that they keep him around.

The Charlotte Hornets have officially signed Elliot Williams.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but Williams won't provide much fantasy value even if he's able to land a spot on the Hornets' roster. Williams can be ignored for fantasy purposes for the 2015-16 season.

The Hornets will sign Eliot Williams for training camp.

He worked out for the Knicks earlier this month, but the Hornets will make him their 16th player under contract. Williams has had a handful of really bad injuries in his career and hasn't been the same since his Achilles tear from 2012.

Williams had a brief stint with the Pelicans at the end of last season and is now looking for a new opportunity in the NBA.

The Pelicans will not sign G Elliot Williams for the rest of the season after his second 10-day contract expired on Wednesday.

The Pelicans decided to bring in G Toney Douglas, so the writing was on the wall for Williams. We will let you know if Williams gets another call from an NBA team, but he will likely spend his time in the D-League for the foreseeable future. Williams can be dropped everywhere.

The Pelicans have signed G Elliot Williams to another 10-day contract on Saturday.

He is averaging 4.0 points, 1.0 assist and 1.0 rebound in 11.0 minutes per game in three appearances for the Pelicans, and unless his role grows significantly, he is only worth monitoring in deeper leagues.

The Pelicans have signed G Elliot Williams to a 10-day contract on Wednesday.

He participated in the team's shootaround and is expected to be available for Wednesday's game vs. the Pistons. However, Williams likely won't be in the rotation right out of the gate, so owners in deeper leagues can simply monitor him from the waiver wire for now.
