The 76ers waived Elliot Williams on Monday.
Williams actually had a decent preseason for the 76ers, which might be why they decided to waive him, as they’re not an organization in the business of winning. Williams might be able to land with another team, but he's going to be an irrelevant fantasy option wherever that may be. Oct 27 - 5:47 PM

Elliot Williams played just 17 minutes off the bench for the 76ers on Thursday with 10 points, three assists, two rebounds and one 3-pointer.

He was efficient at 3-of-4 from the field, which has been the story all along. Williams played very well on offense and he probably earned himself a roster spot. Fantasy owners in even 16-team leagues can probably ignore this for now.
Oct 23 - 11:17 PM

Elliot Williams cooled off against the Nets on Monday, making 5-of-15 from the field for 11 points with two rebounds, four assists, three steals and three turnovers.

As ugly as this shooting line is, it wasn't as bad as it looked. He was getting plenty of clean looks and just missed all five shots from beyond the arc. Williams was remarkably efficient coming into tonight, so we still like his chances as a deep sleeper. It's a total guessing game for what the 76ers are going to do on the wing, but Williams could be part of the solution and certainly deserves a chance.
Oct 20 - 10:38 PM

Elliot Williams continued his outstanding October against the Magic on Saturday with 13 points, three rebounds, five assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.

He's coming off a 17-point game on Thursday and he has a sterling 67.2 effective field goal percentage in the preseason. This has really been a great story because of his injury history. During his career, he's torn his Achilles, dislocated his patella and needed shoulder surgery. Williams has a long way to go, but the lack of playmakers on the Sixers make him someone who's certainly capable of producing value in standard leagues. To be clear, he's not quite ready to draft in standard leagues.
Oct 18 - 10:39 PM

Elliot Williams scored 17 points against the Celtics on Thursday with six rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.

In his two games with at least 10 minutes, Williams has looked great on offense and gives the 76ers decent length on the wing. He had a bad knee injury cost him significant playing time with the Blazers, but he could get a second chance. Of course, he's still not an option in standard leagues.
Oct 16 - 9:54 PM

Elliot Williams will play against the Hornets on Wednesday.

He missed the opener on Monday and should get minutes tonight. Williams is not a great bet to make the rotation.
Oct 8 - 5:35 PM

Elliot Williams scored 15 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 5-of-7 shots (including two threes) with two assist and four steals in 26 minutes.

Williams hasn't been blurbed since February but if he does it again the next time out then it's possible the Sixers are giving him an extended look. Outside of massive formats, there's nothing to see here yet.
Apr 4 - 11:35 PM

Elliot Williams logged 17 minutes off the bench on Monday, scoring just two points with one rebound off the bench.

It was erroneously reported that Williams would be starting and he ended up coming off the bench. He has some low-end talent but we need to see him do something before he can be considered for watch lists in most regular formats.
Feb 24 - 10:37 PM

The Sixers will start Michael Carter-Williams, Elliot Williams, James Anderson, Thaddeus Young and Arnett Moultrie vs. the Bucks on Monday.

Most of the time we wouldn't post a duplicated lineup, but the Sixers are such a mess that we'd just pass along the info. Tony Wroten should act as the sixth man and will have our attention along with Byron Mullens.
Feb 24 - 6:23 PM

Elliot Williams scored 10 points with four assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.

He did a solid job while Hollis Thompson was down with an ankle injury over his previous three and got the start tonight. The Sixers had to shift around a lot of guys due to the players en route from the Thursday deals, so Williams is unlikely to see 27 minutes often. He's only worth a look in deep leagues.
Feb 21 - 10:50 PM

Elliot Williams is starting with Michael Carter-Williams, James Anderson, Thaddeus Young and Arnett Moultrie on Friday.

These were the probables and they held up for the short-handed Sixers. This lineup makes the most sense with the team needing Tony Wroten in the second unit and Hollis Thompson likely at less than 100 percent. Williams can be left on the wire in standards while Moultrie makes sense as a nice pickup.
Feb 21 - 7:03 PM

Elliot Williams is a probable starter for the Sixers on Friday.

His minutes have been creeping up lately due to the injury of Hollis Thompson. Williams has 1.2 triples per game over his last five, but it's still going to be tough to count on him in most leagues. He's only worth a look in deep leagues.
Feb 21 - 5:48 PM

Elliot Williams came off the bench and had 15 points, two assists and three 3-pointers on 5-of-9 shooting Saturday.

With Michael Carter-Williams out with a shoulder injury, Williams took over backup point guard duties and performed well. However, once MCW is back, Williams will go back to obscurity.
Feb 1 - 10:46 PM

Elliot Williams scored 15 points on 3-of-6 shooting (1-of-3 3PTs, 8-of-10 FTs) with four rebounds over 24 minutes in Friday's blowout loss.

Williams was always viewed as a higher upside guy but serious injury derailed his time in Portland and he has yet to show anything in Philly. If he can build off this performance we'll let you know.
Feb 1 - 12:18 AM

Elliot Williams played a season-high 30 minutes against the Wizards on Monday, missing all eight attempts from the field for four points, one board, one assist and one steal.

He stepped in to Tony Wroten's minutes for the most part, but obviously didn't capitalize today. Williams' minutes have increased in each of his last three games, but he's shot just 1-of-16 from the field in that span. He's not worth owning in most leagues.
