Dominique Wilkins is reportedly "extremely interested" in becoming the Hawks' next majority owner.
The NBA has pre-approved Wilkins for ownership, and he's aligned himself with a "very well-known businessman," so there's a real chance that the Hall of Famer could end up controlling his beloved franchise. For now, Wilkins hasn't yet commented publicly on the race-based controversy which has led to the departure of owner Bruce Levenson while clouding GM Danny Ferry's future in the NBA. Dominique Wilkins, Charles Barkley and Joe Dumars were all inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday.

Nique made some headlines for getting there in a 40-foot RV with his week-old son in tow, while Barkley played comedian and role model during his speech. If you've been playing fantasy hoops since the early nineties, you're probably feeling a bit old right and nostalgic right now.

Dominique Wilkins feels good about his chances of entering the Basketball Hall of Fame this season.

"I felt good about it last year and it didn't happen," Wilkins said. "But that's the way it goes sometimes. What looks like a no-brainer to some people doesn't look the same to other people. But all you can do is be positive and let things play out." The Human Highlight Film is a nine-time All-Star with a 24.8 PPG scoring average. He'll enter with Joe Dumars and Charles Barkley likely this season.

Dominique Wilkins learned yesterday he will not be entering the Basketball Hall of Fame as a first ballot candidate.

We don't know what Nique did to piss off the NBA. Not being named one of the top-50 of all time is one thing, but not getting in the Hall is another, as there are many people in that you haven't even heard of. ''I was shocked,'' said Wilkins, the ninth leading scorer in NBA history. ''I think everybody will be when they hear that announcement.'' He may not have won a championship, or even gotten to the finals, but the countless duels with Larry and Jordan, scoring titles and power dunking should have been enough.
