The Jazz are receiving "a lot of interest" on Derrick Favors, according to Jody Genessy of the Deseret News.
This report adds that Utah isn't looking to deal Favors, but he isn't off limits. Favors had a terrible year in 2016-17 due to lingering knee issues, playing in just 50 games and starting just 39. He even tweeted he was playing on one leg, which caused the drop in minutes and productivity. If Favors can recover from this knee issue, the 25-year-old big man could have a bounce-back season. Derrick Favors said he would love to remain with the Jazz, but he understands that scenarios exist where he could be traded next season.

Favors will be an unrestricted free agent during the 2018 offseason, and with Utah set to give a max deal to Gordon Hayward this summer, and both Dante Exum and Rodney Hood eligible for contract extensions, the Jazz may not have enough money to be able to retain Favors during free agency. Favors struggled with injuries during his 2016-17 campaign and put up some of his worst numbers since his rookie year, so he'll have a lot to prove next season in a contract year.

Derrick Favors said he "definitely" feels "100 percent going into the summer."

Favors acknowledged that he was probably only about 50-60 percent healthy when he initially returned from the knee on April 7, but he feels fine now. While it's nice to know that Favors won't be carrying any lingering issues into the offseason, him saying that he feels 100 percent would imply that the back issue didn't factor much into his ineffective play during Utah's second-round series against Golden State. Favors played in a career-low 50 games this season and didn't even crack the top-150 all year long, so he likely made a lot of people's never again lists this year.
May 9 - 2:58 PM

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) played just 12 minutes in Game 1 vs. the Warriors on Tuesday, scoring four points on 2-of-5 shooting with five rebounds.

He didn't look right and probably isn't anywhere close to 100 percent. He missed Monday's practice and was limited at the morning shootaround, so we wouldn't call him a lock to play in Game 2 based on how he looked tonight. The Jazz went with Boris Diaw for 20 minutes off the bench, so fantasy owners will have a hard time trusting any big man not named Rudy Gobert for the duration of this series.
May 3 - 1:10 AM

Updating a previous report, Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) will play in Game 1 vs. the Warriors.

After sitting out of Monday's practice and most of Tuesday's morning shootaround, Favors was able to go through warmups and is ready to go for Game 1. We'll let you know how he fares after the game.
May 2 - 8:58 PM

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) is expected to play in Game 1 vs. the Warriors on Tuesday.

He missed Monday's practice and was limited at the morning shootaround, so don't expect him to be 100 percent tonight. We should have confirmation of his status right after pre-game warmups.
May 2 - 8:49 PM

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) was a partial participant during shootaround, but he remains questionable to play Tuesday vs. the Warriors.

Favors sat out Monday's practice and the fact that he was still somewhat limited during shootaround isn't exactly encouraging. It looks like he'll be a game-time call tonight, and if he is indeed forced to the sidelines, Boris Diaw and Jeff Withey would have the opportunity for some increased minutes and Rudy Gobert would likely get all the run he could handle. Stay tuned.
May 2 - 2:11 PM

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) did not practice on Monday and is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's Game 1 matchup with the Warriors.

Favors opting to sit out Monday's practice in order to really rest up his back should be viewed as a good thing, and it would be surprising to see him miss a playoff game with some back "soreness." We'll have a better idea on his status based on his activity at Tuesday morning's shootaround, but if he is forced to the sidelines, Boris Diaw and Jeff Withey would be in line for an uptick in minutes.
May 1 - 5:36 PM

Derrick Favors posted a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double during Sunday's Game 7 win over the Clippers, adding three assists and one steal before fouling out in 30 minutes.

This was Favors’ first double-double since March 3, and he stepped up big time for Utah with Rudy Gobert struggling with foul trouble for much of the game. He was also excellent on the offensive glass, posting an offensive rebounding percentage of 21.1, and he was a major X-factor for the Jazz, posting a net rating of 25.7. It'll be interesting to see if he can keep this momentum going into Tuesday's Game 1 matchup with the Warriors.
Apr 30 - 6:51 PM

Derrick Favors shifted to the bench with Rudy Gobert (knee) active on Sunday, posting 17 points on 7-of-10 FGs and 3-of-6 FTs, with six rebounds, two steals, one assist and zero turnovers in 24 minutes.

Favors averaged 34.3 minutes in the first three games of the series out of necessity, but that workload clearly took a toll on him. His scoring declined in each game and he simply didn't have it in Game 3 on Friday, scoring two points in 38 minutes of action. He looked rejuvenated tonight, expending more energy in fewer minutes, which is the best-case scenario for Utah's frontcourt.
Apr 24 - 12:18 AM

Derrick Favors will come off the bench on Sunday behind a frontcourt of Rudy Gobert and Boris Diaw.

Favors has been maxing out his minutes despite obvious exhaustion with Gobert injured, so his role should shrink tonight.
Apr 23 - 9:07 PM

Derrick Favors scored two points with six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 38 minutes against the Clippers on Friday.

He just doesn't have it right now, but the Jazz really have no choice with Rudy Gobert (knee) out. Favors could see a slight hit in playing time, but he's still too risky to use in DFS unless his price drops on most sites.
Apr 22 - 12:54 AM

Derrick Favors started at center in Tuesday's Game 2 loss to the Clippers, finishing with 13 points, seven rebounds and one block in 33 minutes.

Playing Favors at less than 100 percent for 33 minutes isn't ideal, but even though he was absolutely exhausted, he put in a pretty good shift tonight just like he did in Game 1. He finished 5-of-7 from the field and 3-of-5 from the line, and with Rudy Gobert's (knee) timetable to return still up in the air, the Favors should see 30+ minutes as long as his troublesome knee holds up.
Apr 19 - 1:18 AM

Derrick Favors will draw the start in Tuesday's Game 2 against the Clippers.

Rudy Gobert (knee) has officially been ruled out for Game 2, so Favors should see his minutes in the 30s as Utah's starting center. Favors posted 15 points, six boards, two assists and one block through 32 minutes sans Gobert on Saturday, so that should be the baseline expectations for Favors moving forward.
Apr 17 - 2:43 PM

Derrick Favors said that his troublesome left knee felt fine after logging 30 minutes during Game 1 on Saturday.

"I felt good. It was my first time playing 30 minutes in a long time," he said. "I didn't have any pain in my knee, no discomfort. I was just a little fatigued." That last part might be an understatement, as he looked exhausted for much of the second half, but his strong effort helped Utah overcome Rudy Gobert's injury to steal a road win. With Gobert questionable for Game 2, Favors might be leaned on for big minutes once again.
