Derrick Favors came off the bench for eight points, eight rebounds and five blocks in 29 minutes off the bench on Tuesday.
Al Jefferson added 15 points, 11 boards and a block in the loss, while Paul Millsap had eight points, six boards, two steals and a block in 38 minutes. All three of these guys are going to benefit from season-ending shoulder surgery for Enes Kanter, and all three are viable starting options as long as the Jazz are battling the Lakers for a trip to the playoffs. Tyrone Corbin praised Derrick Favors for the "defensive presence" he brings.

"The plays he makes on the defensive end when you don't think there's a play to be made," Corbin said. Favors has also stepped up on offense since Enes Kanter (shoulder) went down and has made 30-of-51 shots since Kanter's injury. "He understands his role and what it will take to continue to get better," Corbin added.

Derrick Favors had 12 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks off the bench vs. Golden State, marking his second straight double-double.

In addition to solid scoring and rebounds, Favors has nine blocks in the past two games. His efforts helped Utah win Sunday's game, which restores their slight edge over the Lakers, and he should continue to see close to 30 minutes in the final four games of the season. The bad news is that Utah plays twice next week.
Apr 7 - 10:52 PM

Derrick Favors scored 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting with 10 rebounds, one steal and a career-high six blocks in Friday's win.

Favors is doing well for the log-jam of players around him. He should be in most if not all lineups right now.
Apr 6 - 1:28 AM

Derrick Favors shot the ball well on Monday, making 6-of-7 from the field for 18 points with seven boards, two assists and one steal in 28 minutes against the Blazers.

He's cruising along and has put up big games in each of his last five. It's too bad that the Jazz didn't trade Al Jefferson (24 points, 10 boards, two steals and two blocks) or Paul Millsap (16 points, two boards, two assists and one steal), but the way Favors has been playing makes for a nice consolation prize for his owners.
Apr 2 - 12:40 AM

Derrick Favors was productive off the bench against his former team with 13 points, nine boards, one assist and three steals against the Nets on Saturday.

He got the start in the second half of Friday's game and played 27 minutes, but his minutes dropped down to 23 tonight. That's right at his season average of 22.6 and he has been able to make the most of them. Favors is worth owning in all leagues for his shot blocking and rebounding.
Mar 31 - 12:32 AM

Derrick Favors started the second half of Friday's game, finishing with 13 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and no steals or blocks in 27 minutes.

Favors hit 6-of-8 shots and after the game Ty Corbin said he made the switch between Derrick and Paul Millsap because Millsap had three fouls. Yes, it could be the start of something new, but it could also be nothing and the duo's value will likely remain similar regardless of who starts.
Mar 30 - 3:14 AM

Derrick Favors is starting the second half over Paul Millsap in Friday's game at Portland.

Favors hasn't exactly been lighting it up on offense lately, but his defensive presence has been undeniable. He blocked 2.3 shots per game in just 22.6 minutes over his last 10 games and he has to be owned in all leagues. As for Millsap, there's no reason to panic and he should be starting in all formats until further notice.
Mar 29 - 11:38 PM

Derrick Favors had nine points, 13 rebounds, two steals and two blocks off the bench on Wednesday.

He played 25 minutes, while starter Paul Millsap played just 23 and finished with 12 points and four rebounds. These two are in a timeshare, and while the loss of Enes Kanter with a separated shoulder should work in both of their favor, neither big man is all that trustworthy right now. But Favors is getting hot, as he also had 13 points, 10 boards and three blocks on Monday.
Mar 28 - 1:46 AM

Derrick Favors had a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards to go with two assists and three blocks in 26 minutes against the Sixers on Monday.

It was his first double-double since March 8 and his minutes have been down lately, playing just 16 and 19 minutes in his last two games. Favors is one of the best bench bigs in the league and he should hold some value in standard leagues since he blocks shots.
Mar 26 - 12:15 AM

Derrick Favors blocked four shots to go with six points, eight rebounds and a steal in just 19 minutes on Friday.

While this is a typical low-minute gem for Favors, it does nothing to help owners get over the upside that never came. He's still a low-end value with a great schedule, so hang on in most situations.
Mar 22 - 11:56 PM

Derrick Favors had five points, three rebounds and three blocks in just 23 minutes of Wednesday's loss.

Al Jefferson had 18 points and 11 boards, but no blocks, and Paul Millsap added 16 points and four rebounds in 25 minutes. This is a struggling, three-headed monster, but unfortunately for Favors, he's the one coming off the bench. He's a teammate's injury away from turning into a nightly beast, but he's not worth starting in many leagues right now. And if you've got a stacked team and your eye on a hot free agent, it's possible that Favors is the guy you might have to say goodbye to.
Mar 21 - 1:24 AM

Derrick Favors hit just 1-of-7 shots and 5-of-12 free throws for seven points, but did grab 13 rebounds to go with two steals in 21 minutes on Monday.

The Jazz were a total mess and it's not surprising that it translated to a rough shooting night for Favors. He's still producing enough to provide low-end value to owners, and the Jazz have a great schedule down the stretch.
Mar 19 - 2:01 AM

Derrick Favors started for Paul Millsap (knee) on Monday against the Pistons, scoring six points on 2-of-5 shooting with eight rebounds and three blocks in 21 minutes.

Favors and his starting teammates all struggled in the plus-minus tonight, but he got the short end of the stick minute-wise despite Al Jefferson (16 points, 10 boards) plodding along on both ends of the floor. Enes Kanter added 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting with eight rebounds and one block in 20 minutes off the bench. One has to wonder when Jazz fans are going to get tired of the Al Jefferson morphine drip, and owners should continue to use these guys as they normally would with Millsap out.
Mar 12 - 12:19 AM

Filling in for injured Paul Millsap (knee), Derrick Favors had four points, five rebounds, three assists and one block vs. the Knicks on Saturday.

Favors' situation hasn't changed all season -- he's a low-end value when the Jazz frontcourt is at full strength, but he's a top-tier value when Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap get hurt. This game was a team-wide fluke for Utah, as not a single starter scored double-digit points or played more than 25 minutes. Expect a bounce-back game from Favors on Monday, whether or not Millsap is active.
