Derrick Favors scored 16 points on 7-of-15 shooting with nine rebounds, two steals and one block in the Jazz's 92-76 win over the Blazers on Friday.
With Enes Kanter shipped out to the Thunder, look for Favors to get a slight bump in value and in particular in the rebounding department. Feb 21 - 3:51 AM

Derrick Favors had a fantastic showing against the Kings on Saturday, scoring 20 points with nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks in 33 minutes.

There was a lot of talk in the preseason of Favors passing out of the post, but he was at just 1.4 dimes per game this season before tonight and matched his season high tonight. Favors has really picked it up to start this month, averaging 17.0 points, 4.7 boards, 1.7 assists, 0.7 blocks and 1.3 steals on 53.8 percent from the field and 75.0 percent from the line in his previous three. He should have a strong finish just like last year.
Feb 8 - 12:32 AM

Derrick Favors finished Tuesday's narrow defeat with 20 points on 8-of-18 FGs and 4-of-7 FTs, four boards, three assists, one steal, one block and zero turnovers.

The Jazz like to feed Favors the ball on the elbow, where his 8.0 touches per game rank fifth in the NBA behind only Zaza Pachulia, Chris Bosh, Blake Griffin and Marc Gasol. Favors is also the only Jazz player in the top-20 for touches within 12 feet of the hoop, and his copious opportunities have paid off with career highs in scoring (15.7 ppg) and FG percentage (54.2 percent). Enes Kanter and Rudy Gobert haven't shaken Favors from his top-40 perch, to his owners' delight.
Feb 4 - 1:16 AM

Derrick Favors had 18 points, nine rebounds and two blocks on 8-of-13 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Clippers.

The Jazz actually controlled this game for most of the night, but gave way to the Clippers in the fourth quarter. Favors was reportedly playing through a sore wrist tonight, but it didn't seem to bother him as much as the Clippers bother the Jazz. They've now won 13 straight games over Utah.
Jan 29 - 2:26 AM

Derrick Favors scored 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting (3-of-7 FTs) with eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and four blocks in the Jazz's 99-90 loss to the Celtics on Monday.

Favors is a top-50 play and is well-positioned to hold the line or improve as the year goes on. Enes Kanter had a typical 20 and six night with no other stats, and Rudy Gobert was dominant defensively on his way to eight points, 10 boards, two assists and three blocks in 26 minutes.
Jan 27 - 12:14 AM

Derrick Favors was quiet in his return to the lineup on Saturday with nine points, eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

It wasn't a bad line and it was mostly due to his low usage rate. Favors is shooting the ball very well from the field and is at 72.3 percent from the line in 2015, so he could become an elite big man thanks to his contributions in blocks.
Jan 25 - 12:16 AM

Derrick Favors (personal) will play on Saturday vs. the Nets.

He missed Thursday's game to tend to an emergency family matter so his owners can pencil Favors into their lineups. Rudy Gobert will likely shift back to the bench with this news, but he should still see enough run to make an impact in standard leagues.
Jan 24 - 12:29 PM

Derrick Favors (personal) will not play against the Bucks on Thursday.

There is no word of an injury, and all we know is that Favors won't even travel with the Jazz to Milwaukee for "personal reasons". We will be sure to pass along any available updates as needed. On the other hand, Rudy Gobert will likely draw the start on Thursday and is absolutely a must-start option for his upside in blocks and boards.
Jan 22 - 2:25 PM

Derrick Favors had 13 rebounds and four blocks on Sunday, but he scored only nine points on 4-of-11 shooting during 27 minutes on the court.

The Jazz couldn't muster enough offense to beat the Spurs, shooting just 28-of-84 as a team (33.3 percent), with a 10-of-16 mark at the FT line. Favors fell one point shy of his third straight double-double in tonight's defeat, and his injury scare last Saturday has proven to be a false alarm.
Jan 18 - 9:28 PM

Derrick Favors bounced back from Saturday's 17-minute dud to finish Tuesday's home loss with 22 points (10-of-16 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), 11 rebounds, one block and zero turnovers.

He was limping slightly on Saturday and coach Quin Snyder said he looked tired, but it appears to have been a minor issue with no lingering consequences. He played 30 minutes tonight while Enes Kanter and Rudy Gobert both double-doubled in 32 minutes apiece, a playing-time split which bodes well for the value of all three players.
Jan 13 - 11:42 PM

Derrick Favors was playing with a slight limp during Saturday's loss to the Rockets.

"I saw him limping a little," coach Quin Snyder said. "He’s tired and Derrick is a guy who’s given so much of himself." This definitely explains why he saw just 17 minutes, but it doesn't appear that Favors is in danger of missing any action. It's still not clear exactly what he injured, but we will pass along further updates when we know more.
Jan 11 - 1:51 PM

Derrick Favors was limited by foul trouble and played just 17 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Rockets, finishing with 15 points, seven boards and two steals.

This was very disappointing for his owners because he was well on his way to a fantastic game before picking up some unnecessary fouls. Favors had three straight double-doubles before this contest, so expect him to bounce back against Golden State on Tuesday.
Jan 11 - 12:44 AM

Derrick Favors scored 20 points with 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 32 minutes against the Bulls on Wednesday.

He's rolling right now. Over his last eight games, Favors averaged 16.5 points, 10.0 boards, 1.4 assists, 1.6 blocks, 1.1 steals and 1.8 turnovers on 51.0 percent from the field and 64.2 percent from the line. He's played terrific ball next to Rudy Gobert and the Jazz are also playing better as a team, too. Favors also closed out 2013-14 very nicely, so he looks like he'll only get better.
Jan 7 - 10:59 PM

Derrick Favors posted a massive line on Saturday, finishing with 17 points, 15 boards, three assists, three steals and five blocks in 34 minutes.

He also shot 7-of-11 from the field, and was clearly the most dominant player on the court Saturday. The fact that he did this against the 76ers should be factored in, but this was a great performance nonetheless. As long as Favors stays healthy, more lines similar to this will be on the horizon.
Sun, Dec 28, 2014 12:33:00 AM

Derrick Favors played just 18 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Hornets, finishing with 13 points, five boards, two assists and one block.

There is no injury to worry about, and it was coach Quin Snyder's decision to keep him on the bench. The Jazz were blown out in this one, so this line should be taken with a grain of salt. Favors exploded for 23 points and 10 boards on Wednesday, so he should be able to bounce back in his next game. Keep him active in all lineups.
