Luke Babbitt will sign a two-year deal with the Pelicans worth approximately $2.5 million.

Babbitt's shooting is useful for a team that can sometimes go dry from deep, but even if Alvin Gentry's offense gets in gear he'll struggle to maintain fantasy value.
Jul 9 - 11:06 PM

Luke Babbitt, who had 18 points, eight boards and four 3-pointers on Monday, hit just 3-of-7 shots for eight points, two rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers on Wednesday.

Quincy Pondexter and Dante Cunningham were better tonight, and it's going to be tough to figure out which scrub is going to get hot for Pelicans as long as Ryan Anderson and Anthony Davis are out. But Babbitt should probably be at the bottom of the list after Pondexter scored 25 tonight, while Cunningham is also starting.
Feb 26 - 1:10 AM

Luke Babbitt got hot off the bench in Monday's win over the Raptors, hitting 7-of-9 shots (including four threes) for 18 points with eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 23 minutes.

It's hard to see Babbitt providing consistent returns but if there was a situation that could make it happen it would be the one in New Orleans. If players start to call it a season early, keep an eye on him in leagues that value 3-point shooting.
Feb 24 - 12:17 AM

Luke Babbitt (15 points, eight rebounds, three 3-pointers), Jeff Withey (11 points, 4 rebounds, 18 minutes) and Toney Douglas (14 points, seven assists and a 3-pointer in 25 minutes) all played well for the Pelicans on Wednesday.

However, the Pacers were blowing out the Pelicans and the bench made somewhat of a comeback, winning the fourth quarter 33-17, but still losing by a score of 106-93. These guys were garbage-time specials, and despite injuries to several big names in New Orleans, none of them is a must-add player at this point.
Feb 12 - 1:02 AM

Luke Babbitt will shift to the Pelicans bench on Wednesday.

He played five scoreless minutes on Monday so it wasn't hard to see this coming. Tyreke Evans will take over the starting SF job and there's no reason to own Babbitt in any leagues, at least while Tyreke is healthy.
Jan 7 - 6:10 PM

Luke Babbitt snapped a two-game scoreless streak on Tuesday with three points on 1-of-3 shooting.

He added four rebounds in only 11 minutes and continued to be a non-entity despite the absence of Eric Gordon (shoulder) and John Salmons (personal). Salmons isn't expected back soon and may miss games on Wednesday and Friday, but Babbitt still isn't worth fantasy owners' attention outside of the deepest leagues.

Luke Babbitt made three 3-pointers and scored 10 points in Tuesday's road loss in Indiana, adding two rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes.

Babbitt hasn't done much of note since joining New Orleans' starting lineup, averaging just 6.0 points, 1.8 threes, 2.6 rebounds and 0.3 steals in 19 minutes per game. His starting role has a shelf-life with Eric Gordon (shoulder) on the path to recovery, which is all the more reason to leave Babbitt adrift on the waiver wire.
Tue, Dec 23, 2014 10:20:00 PM

Luke Babbitt played just 14 minutes in another start on Sunday, but only hit one 3-pointer and failed to register any other stats on the night.

Eric Gordon's (shoulder) return is looming, so if Babbitt isn't even an asset while he is starting than this news confirms that he shouldn't be owned in almost any league.

Luke Babitt defended LeBron James for most of Friday's game in his 30 minutes and lived to tell about it, finishing with six points, five boards, two steals and two 3-pointers.

His minutes are starting to see a slight increase, but tonight had a lot to do with Anthony Davis (chest) not playing in the second half. His coach probably gained some confidence in him, but Babbitt is still only a speculative add in deep leagues with Davis up in the air.

Luke Babbitt (sprained left knee) started Tuesday's game and scored six points with two 3-pointers in 19 minutes of court time.

The starting SF job is Babbitt's to lose while Eric Gordon (shoulder) is out, though Gordon is aiming to return in 3-4 weeks. Babbitt chipped in one rebound, one block and one turnover on Tuesday, and his fantasy value is too limited for use in standard leagues.

Luke Babbitt (knee) will play in Tuesday's game vs. the Knicks.

Although he has recently won a starting spot in the rotation for the Pelicans, Babbitt should only be considered for owners desperate for 3-pointers. Standard league owners can more than likely do better.

Luke Babbitt (left knee sprain) has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday's game vs. the Knicks.

Babbitt is currently starting for the Pelicans, but he really doesn't offer much to fantasy squads aside from his 3-point shooting. Through four games with the starting unit, Babbitt is averaging 7.3 points, 2.3 three-pointers, and not much else making him a deep league asset at best. Standard league owners can continue to ignore Babbitt on the waiver wire.
Tue, Dec 9, 2014 02:53:00 PM

Luke Babbitt (left knee sprain) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.

Babbitt sprained his knee during Sunday's win over the Lakers and looks headed towards a game-time decision for Tuesday night. Dante Cunningham and John Salmons would be the biggest minutes beneficiaries if Babbitt is unable to suit up, but neither holds much fantasy value.
Tue, Dec 9, 2014 12:44:00 PM

Luke Babbitt (left knee sprain) is doubtful to return to Sunday's game vs. the Lakers.

The Pelicans led comfortably when Babbitt left, so ideally his absence is a precaution, but we'll update his status once the Pelicans provide an update. He finished Sunday's game with six points and five rebounds in 20 minutes, and if he misses any time the biggest beneficiaries will be Dante Cunningham and John Salmons.
