Luke Babbitt scored a season-high 16 points with four 3-pointers, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 32 minutes on Friday against the Bucks.
The Heat played a lot of small ball with Willie Reed out so that really help Babbitt. He finished 6-of-9 from the field and the minutes were also a season high, but this is likely going to be the flukiest line of the night. This was Babbitt's fourth game of the season with double-digit points and this was the first time he eclipsed the 25-minute mark since Nov. 4. You can leave him on the wire with confidence since Reed is day-to-day. Jan 13 - 10:49 PM

Date:

Luke Babbitt started for the Heat on Tuesday but played just 18 minutes and scored two points after missing five of his six shots.

Babbitt lasted just eight minutes on Friday and sat out on Sunday with the flu, but was back at it tonight. He's yet to have a breakout game despite starting on most nights, and his two double-digit scoring nights happened in the first three games of the season. Even with the Heat banged up and injury depleted, Babbitt just can't get going this season.
Jan 11 - 1:04 AM

Luke Babbitt (illness) is available to play on Tuesday vs. the Warriors and will start.

Even with the Heat banged up, Babbitt rarely plays more than 20 minutes. Derrick Williams will return to the bench and loses most of his value. Leave both players on the wire.
Jan 10 - 9:41 PM

Luke Babbitt (illness) was back at practice on Monday.

Babbitt missed Sunday's game with the illness, but him returning to Monday's practice is a good sign regarding his status for Tuesday's game against the Warriors. If Babbitt is able to get out there, he could retake his spot in the starting five, a move that would send Derrick Williams back to the bench. Neither of these guys are worth owning in fantasy hoops.
Jan 9 - 5:21 PM

Luke Babbitt (illness) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Clippers.

Babbitt had been starting, so with him hitting the sidelines tonight, we could see Derrick Williams or James Johnson enter the starting five as the only other healthy power forwards on the roster. Udonis Haslem could see limited minutes off the bench today with Miami razor thin up front, but Johnson is the guy you want to target in fantasy hoops. For now, we'll consider Babbitt questionable for Tuesday's game against the Warriors.

Luke Babbitt started vs. the Kings on Wednesday, finishing with nine points on 3-of-4 shooting and four rebounds in 17 minutes.

Babbitt has started 16 games this season. In his previous 15 starts, he averaged an unimpressive 5.9 points on 36.7 percent shooting, 1.3 threes, 2.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.1 blocks. At best he's a 3-point specialist now that Justise Winslow (shoulder) is out of commission.
Jan 5 - 2:15 AM

Luke Babbitt scored seven points in a start against the Hornets on Thursday, adding three rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes.

He actually had a really fast start with all seven points in the first quarter. If he didn't have the hot start, he likely would've been closer to 15 minutes. Babbitt is not a fantasy option in most leagues.

Luke Babbitt is in the starting lineup against the Hornets on Thursday.

After a DNP-CD on Tuesday, he's likely going to reverse roles with Derrick Williams, who played 15 minutes in a loss to the Thunder. Babbitt is an extremely risky fantasy option.

Luke Babbitt (hip) did not play vs. the Pacers on Wednesday.

Babbitt warmed up with the intention of playing on Monday but he never took the court, and it looks like he's been a simple DNP-CD the past few games. We're taking him off the injury report. He has no fantasy appeal, especially now that Justise Winslow (wrist) is back in action.

Luke Babbitt (hip) is warming up with the intent to play on Monday vs. the Wizards.

Listed as a game-time call, Babbitt will play tonight barring a setback in the pre-game warmups. Even with the Heat banged up, Babbitt is not worth deploying in fantasy leagues tonight. He has season averages of 4.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 trey in 15.9 minutes per game.

Luke Babbitt (hip) is a game-time call on Monday vs. the Wizards.

James Johnson (rotator cuff) is also a game-time call, while Dion Waiters (groin) and Justise Winslow (wrist) are still out. Even if Babbitt is able to give it a go Monday, he can't be trusted in almost any format, especially if Johnson plays.
Mon, Dec 12, 2016 11:57:00 AM

Luke Babbitt (hip) is being listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Wizards.

Even with Miami incredibly banged up, Babbitt isn't worth a roster spot in most settings.
Sun, Dec 11, 2016 01:32:00 PM

Luke Babbitt (hip) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Cavaliers.

Dion Waiters (groin), Justise Winslow (wrist), James Johnson (rotator cuff) and Josh Richardson (ankle, wrist) were already ruled out, meaning Josh McRoberts will once again get the bulk of the PF minutes on Friday.
Thu, Dec 8, 2016 01:56:00 PM

Luke Babbitt (strained right hip flexor) will not play Wednesday vs. the Hawks.

Miami will again be without Dion Waiters (groin), Justise Winslow (wrist), James Johnson (rotator cuff) and Josh Richardson (ankle, wrist), so Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside should again dominate the offensive possessions with Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington also seeing some increased opportunity. Babbitt is not traveling with the team, so he'll miss Friday and Saturday's game as well.
Wed, Dec 7, 2016 12:00:00 PM

Luke Babbitt (hip) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.

Dion Waiters (groin), Justise Winslow (wrist), James Johnson (rotator cuff) and Josh Richardson (ankle, wrist) will join Babbitt on the sidelines on Tuesday, leaving Miami with just nine healthy players for tonight's game. Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson and Hassan Whiteside will dominate the offensive possessions tonight, and guys like Derrick Williams and Rodney McGruder are viable punt play options in DFS.
