Luke Babbitt scored 11 points with seven rebounds and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes against the Nuggets on Tuesday.
If Anthony Davis (shoulder) is out, Babbitt would have to get some minutes. Dante Cunningham would be playing more at the four and five, which would open up minutes on the outside. He can shoot it and he hasn't been quite as bad on defense, so he's on the radar as a speculative add in 16-team leagues. Nov 18 - 12:59 AM

Luke Babbitt started and scored 13 points against the Hawks on Friday, hitting 5-of-10 shots (1-of-6 from deep) with four rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes.

Unless you're truly desperate for threes, which doesn't really make much sense but to each their own, then there's no real reason to go after Babbitt.
Nov 7 - 1:30 AM

Luke Babbitt started on Tuesday, sending Dante Cunningham to the bench, and had eight points, eight rebounds, a steals and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes.

He hit 3-of-8 shots on the night and you'd have to be in a pretty deep league to own Babbitt, whether he's starting for the Pelicans or not. Cunningham didn't enjoy his game off the bench, either, finishing with five points, six rebounds and a steal in just 21 minutes.
Nov 3 - 10:29 PM

Luke Babbitt (shoulder) has returned to Tuesday's game vs. the Magic.

The Pelicans are already very shorthanded, but it's a good sign that Babbitt was able to return so quickly. He should be fine moving forward.
Nov 3 - 9:24 PM

Luke Babbitt will start at small forward for Tuesday's game vs. the Magic, sending Dante Cunningham to the bench.

Babbitt played 30 minutes on Saturday, and it's clear that head coach Alvin Gentry likes his ability to spread the floor. However, Babbitt failed to do much during his 30 minutes of action, accumulating just four points and six rebounds, so he's not a very attractive option tonight despite the starters designation.
Nov 3 - 6:29 PM

Luke Babbitt (hamstring) had four points, six rebounds and one assist in 30 minutes during his first game of the season on Saturday.

Babbitt's playing time was a surprise. It looks like Alvin Gentry might give him a big role off the bench but we'll hedge our bets until we've seen the rotation against a few more teams -- New Orleans' big men, with the exception of Anthony Davis, barely played tonight. The vast majority of owners can leave Babbitt unowned.
Oct 31 - 10:46 PM

Luke Babbitt (hamstring) is expected to play on Saturday against the Warriors.

It will be his first game back for a team with some major depth issues at small forward. He will likely be ahead of Alonzo Gee for the backup minutes, but is not a strong fantasy option.
Oct 31 - 6:11 PM

Luke Babbitt (hamstring) was spotted getting some shots up at shootaround on Saturday.

It appears that Babbitt has a great chance to play vs. the Warriors on Saturday which is great timing because the Pelicans have been devastated by injuries. He should get decent minutes off the bench if he gives it a go, but he is only worth a look in very deep leagues for owners in need of treys.
Oct 31 - 12:55 PM

Luke Babbitt (hamstring) could play against the Warriors on Saturday.

The Pelicans are the most banged-up team in the NBA and had a whopping four small forwards unable to play at the end of Tuesday's opener. Babbitt is only worth a look in very deep leagues.
Oct 30 - 2:51 PM

Luke Babbitt (hamstring) will not play vs. Portland on Wednesday.

He was originally listed as 'out' before being upgraded to questionable this afternoon, so hopefully nobody rolled the dice on him in deep leagues. Babbitt's return will give the Pelicans added depth at both forward positions, but it's not a role that's conducive to fantasy value.
Oct 28 - 8:42 PM

Luke Babbitt (hamstring) is doubtful to play against the Blazers on Wednesday.

The Pelicans are going to be thin on the wing yet again and they'll need Dante Cunningham (head) badly. Babbitt was one of the best 3-point shooters last season, but his role is unclear while Ryan Anderson is healthy.
Oct 28 - 4:53 PM

Luke Babbitt (hamstring) will not play vs. the Warriors on Tuesday.

Babbitt isn't going to see a lot of minutes when the Pelicans are at full strength, but they desperately need bodies right now and it's a shame to see him on the sidelines. Consider him questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Blazers.
Oct 27 - 9:22 PM

Luke Babbitt (hamstring) could play on Tuesday.

He's not nearly as important with Ryan Anderson healthy, but Babbitt would get minutes with how thin the Pelicans are at the three right now. He's only worth a look in deep leagues.
Oct 24 - 3:00 PM

Luke Babbitt (left hamstring strain) has been upgraded to questionable for Friday's preseason finale against the Heat.

This is a positive sign for Babbitt's status heading into the regular-season opener, and it's possible he can play some limited minutes during the early goings of the season with Quincy Pondexter (knee) and Tyreke Evans (knee) banged up. However, he can't be viewed as anything more than a 3-point specialist in extremely deep leagues, and he'll likely be out of the rotation once the team is healthy.
Oct 22 - 5:45 PM

Luke Babbitt suffered a strained left hamstring during Monday's preseason game against the Bulls, and there is currently no timetable set for his return.

While Babbitt didn't figure to be a major part of the Pelicans' rotation, this is just another guy to add to the injury report in New Orleans who are also currently without Norris Cole (ankle), Quincy Pondexter (knee), Omer Asik (calf), and Alexis Ajinca (hamstring). Babbitt isn't worth considering in most leagues on draft day.
