Nets sign SF Damion James to a 10-day contract.

James was with the Nets for two injury-plagued seasons before going unsigned as an unrestricted FA this summer. There's too much competition in Brooklyn to think that he'll have a substantial role on a temporary deal.

Hawks waive Damion James.

James' NBA career has thus far been derailed by foot surgeries. The Hawks were reportedly "impressed" by him this preseason, but not enough to keep him around on a guaranteed contract.

Damion James has "impressed" in the preseason and could have a leg up for a roster spot.

James is on a "make good" contract, and because he can contribute on the wing and is relatively young, it wouldn't be surprising to see him stick around as depth.

Damion James and James Anderson will compete for a roster spot in training camp.

Both 2010 first-round picks need a fresh start, but it sounds like only one will make the final roster. With the team looking to "fill the role of defensive-minded wing," the two players will battle it out to be a part of the second unit. Neither is a fantasy option.

The Hawks and SF Damion James have agreed to terms on a one-year deal, according to Yahoo! Sports.

It's a non-guaranteed deal in the same mold as James Anderson's contract with the Hawks. Injuries have derailed James each of his two seasons in the NBA -- he appeared in only 32 total games for the Nets, averaging 4.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks in 18 minutes per game. Those per-minute stats are intriguing, but his outlook is dimmed by all the competition at SF in Atlanta (Josh Smith, Anthony Morrow, DeShawn Stevenson).

The Nets will do their "due diligence" on unrestricted FA Damion James.

James is expected to visit one more team in the coming days before making a decision on where he'll land. Injuries have limited James to just 32 regular season games through the first two seasons of his career.

Damion James will visit one more team this weekend and then make his decision.

No word yet if this James decision will be a nationally-televised event. No matter where his talents wind up, the Longhorn has struggled to stay healthy and won't be a noteworthy contributor this season.

The Nets "have spoken" to unrestricted free agent Damion James about returning to the team, a source tells the New York Post.

Brooklyn is looking for ways to round out the roster, and James could be a low-risk option at the back end of the bench. The No. 24 pick from the 2010 class is searching to find his role in the league after two injury-plagued seasons with the Nets.

Unrestricted free agent Damion James (foot surgery) has shed his walking boot.

James is out for the season and the Nets are not expected to bring him back next year. The 2010 No. 24 overall pick will have to prove his health in a training camp next season.

Nets will not pick up the contract option of F Damion James.

No surprise here, as James has missed huge portions of both his first two years as he deals with ongoing problems in his surgically-repaired foot. He'll look to latch on with another team in the offseason.

Damion James (foot) underwent surgery on Tuesday and has been ruled out for the season.

After beginning the year as a starter for the Nets, James can now be safely dropped in all leagues.

Damion James will have surgery on Tuesday to replace the screw in his surgically-repaired right foot. There is no timetable for his return.

The screw has given James trouble since last season and even the extended offseason didn't eliminate the problem. MarShon Brooks is solidified in the starting lineup and either Anthony Morrow or DeShawn Stevenson will continue to start as a wingman. Shawne Williams could prove useful, also, assuming his foot/leg injury improves.

Damion James (foot) will miss at least two more games.

James is comparing his foot injury to the one that hobbled Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw for a few weeks this season. He was starting before his injury, but has been "Pipped" by wildly impressive rookie MarShon Brooks.

Damion James (foot) is still day-to-day, but could participate in shootaround as soon as Saturday.

James is aiming to return to practice next week, but we're still calling him out indefinitely until he can get back onto the court. He has missed seven straight games with the injury and was averaging just 4.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in 24 minutes before going down.
