Craig Brackins is hoping to earn another chance in the NBA.
"I'm finally feeling good about it and my shot is back," Brackins said. "The last time people saw me was in the D-League with a broken jump shot, and now it's like, 'Hey, he's shooting again. He's finally healthy.'" Brackins' career has largely been stunted by issues with his health, but he's going to have to take a training camp type of deal and prove he's worth a roster spot to stick somewhere. Brackins is joining Angelico Biella, and he was an unrestricted FA after the Sixers decided not to extend him a qualifying contract offer. He was drafted No. 21 overall in the 2010 NBA draft and should fare far better overseas.

Brackins could certainly use all of the competitive action that he can handle after not being able to crack Doug Collins' rotation, and this should only help to further his confidence and hone his potential.

Sixers F Craig Brackins says his main focus this summer is getting stronger.

Brackins, listed at 6-10/230, has taken up boxing twice a week in Philadelphia. He sees an opportunity on the Sixers' weak front line, but knows he can't bang with NBA bigs right now. If Brackins can transform his body, he'll get a look as a rotational backup next season.

Brackins has flashed some potential in the NBADL, but was unable to gain the trust of Doug Collins at the big-league level. He's still only 23 and has the size the Sixers are looking for. The main problem is that Brackins and Marreese Speights have similar styles -- and Speights is simply a better player.
