The Heat are serious about adding another shooting guard if they can find a good one willing to take the veteran's minimum.
It makes sense that the Heat would like to add another body to play behind Dwyane Wade, as the current backups project to be Danny Granger, and Reggie Williams. The organization has inquired about Jordan Crawford, and Leandro Barbosa, and they have also worked out Chris Douglas-Roberts. The fantasy value of these players would be dependent upon the health of Wade, but Crawford profiles as the guy that could put up the most numbers from a fantasy standpoint. Stay tuned. Given that the Warriors have a plethora of guards, they're said to be willing to help free agent Jordan Crawford find a new team with a sign-and-trade, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Nothing could be better for Crawford's playing time and fantasy value than getting out of Golden State. There are just too many guards in front of him and even if a sign-and-trade doesn't happen, Crawford's an unrestricted free agent and will almost certainly end up in a better situation this season. He's receiving interest from the Bulls, Mavs, Lakers, Knicks and Nets, according to Yahoo's sources.

The Warriors will not give Jordan Crawford a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Crawford can still be brought back to the team but they want to keep their cap situation as clean as possible in the meantime. He showed his typical array of offensive-minded basketball during his time in Golden State.
Jun 30 - 8:29 PM

Jordan Crawford scored a career-high 41 points along with five rebounds, two assists and a steal in Wednesday's win over the Nuggets.

You could see him having a big game with the Warriors resting the regulars, but this was better than any of us could have imagined. Harrison Barnes chipped in with 30, while Randy Foye scored 32 and had 11 assists for the Nuggets in the loss. The Warriors are healthy, with the exception of Andrew Bogut, and ready to take on the Clippers in Round 1 of the playoffs. And that, our friends, is a wrap on the 2013-14 regular season.
Apr 17 - 1:37 AM

Jordan Crawford scored just three points in seven minutes on Monday, but could see a bump in minutes now that the Warriors have clinched the No. 6 spot in the West.

Mark Jackson said that a lot of guys could rest on Wednesday and Crawford fits the description of a season finale special. He comes with no guarantees, but he fits the profile of a high-upside guy that owners may want to reach for. Steve Blake could also get some extra run, though at his age the Dubs may decide not to run him quite as hard.
Apr 15 - 1:46 AM

Jordan Crawford scored 19 points in just 16 minutes vs. the Mavericks on Tuesday with four boards and five 3-pointers on seven attempts from beyond the arc.

He's had some major issues from downtown in his time with the Warriors, making just 28.6 percent from that range in his previous 33 games. Crawford's explosion was nice to see, but only logging 16 minutes doesn't really help his case as a pickup.
Apr 1 - 11:46 PM

Jordan Crawford caught fire in the second quarter and had 19 points, one rebound, two assists and three 3-pointers in Tuesday's blowout win over the Mavericks.

He hit 8-of-12 shots and played 22 minutes, as Stephen Curry took it easy on his calf injury tonight. Part of the reason Curry wasn't needed was Crawford's big game, as the Warriors were able to crush the Mavericks without even running Curry big minutes. Crawford would become relevant if Curry were to miss games, but it sounds like Curry's a go against the Clippers on Wednesday night, so don't expect Crawford to do this again anytime soon, unless Curry actually takes a night off. This was easily his best scoring night as a Warrior, so just leave him on waivers for now.
Mar 12 - 1:21 AM

Jordan Crawford hit 7-of-12 shots and a 3-pointer for 15 points in just 19 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.

Steph Curry left early with a leg injury and the Celtics laid down for this one. In other words, Crawford got some garbage time and lit it up in limited minutes, meaning you can continue to ignore him, as long as Curry's injury isn't serious.
Mar 5 - 11:24 PM

Jordan Crawford scored a team-high 16 points against the Bulls during a blowout 103-83 loss on Wednesday with two boards, two assists and one 3-pointer.

He's been in double-digit scoring in four of his last five games. In that span, Crawford averaged 11.8 points, 1.2 boards, 1.4 assists, 0.2 steals and 1.6 triples. He's not really much of a fantasy option for only putting up points and the averages over his last five are likely better than he'll finish the rest of the way.
Feb 26 - 11:41 PM

Jordan Crawford scored 15 points off the bench against the Pistons during Monday's 104-96 victory with two boards, one assist and four 3-pointers.

He got hot in the middle of this game, which he's done countless times in his career. Crawford hasn't cracked 20 minutes in any of his last five games, averaging 10.4 points, 1.4 assists, 0.2 steals and 1.4 triples. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.
Feb 24 - 10:17 PM

According to Yahoo, the Warriors have placed Jordan Crawford on the trading block.

With Steve Blake now filling the combo guard spot off the bench, Crawford is expendable. It's a familiar refrain for the streaky, sometimes selfish scorer. Crawford has already been traded four times in his four-year career.
Feb 20 - 2:23 PM

The Warriors hope to use their trade exceptions to acquire players who can bolster their bench, according to USA Today.

This comes as no surprise given that the Warriors already traded for Jordan Crawford to help the bench yet they still rank 29th in bench scoring. Owner Joe Lacob expressed dissatisfaction with his team's current 31-21 record and we're likely to see a move or two from Golden State before the Feb. 20 deadline.

Feb 12 - 9:36 AM

Jordan Crawford scored five points in 15 minutes off the Warriors' bench on Sunday.

Golden State ranks last in the NBA in bench scoring this season at 23.0 points per game (their opponent tonight, the Blazers, are second-to-last). Crawford's arrival seems designed to fix that problem, but thus far he's been quiet in 12-15 minutes per game. His fantasy value didn't board the plane when he was traded from Boston to Golden State.
Jan 27 - 12:27 AM

Jordan Crawford scored eight points in his debut with the Warriors on Friday to go with one board, two assists and two 3-pointers.

He played just 15 minutes and the talent around him in the backcourt went up quite a bit compared to his Boston days. Crawford can be dropped in most leagues.
Jan 18 - 1:33 AM

The Celtics have traded Jordan Crawford and MarShon Brooks to the Warriors, according to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Toney Douglas will join the Heat as part of the deal, who will in turn send Joel Anthony and two draft picks to Boston. The Warriors have been openly trying to improve their backcourt depth and this accomplishes that goal with Crawford providing some relief for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, both of whom are averaging close to 38 minutes per game. Crawford's value takes a clear hit as a reserve in Golden State, while his departure clears up minutes in Boston's backcourt as the Celts await Rajon Rondo's return.
