Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau recently praised Nemanja Bjelica's playmaking ability and "very unique skill set."
"I’m excited about [Bjelica]," Thibodeau said. "He’s had a great summer. He’s in really good shape. He can shoot the three, he can put it on the floor. The one thing that is probably overlooked is his playmaking ability. You can run pick-and-roll with him. He’s got great vision, he can pass over people." He's worth monitoring closely, but Bjelica faces serious competition for minutes on a roster that includes Karl-Anthony Towns, Gorgui Dieng, Andrew Wiggins and Shabazz Muhammad. Sep 25 - 9:45 PM

Date:

Nemanja Bjelica will not play for Serbia at the Olympics.

He's reportedly dealing with a leg issue, so he will spend several weeks in the USA rehabbing his injury. Bjelica wasn't a consistent part of the rotation for Minnesota during his rookie season, so minutes might not be easier to find next season if the Wolves add a big through the draft or free agency.
Jun 11 - 9:12 AM

Nemanja Bjelica said that he's happy to be in Minnesota.

"At the end of the day, I’m happy to be here," Bjelica said. "I belong in this league. I compete with the best players. Of course, I have some up and downs. This is normal. I’m just happy because I finish season in good way, like positive." Bjelica had a decent start and finish to the 2015-16 season, but he was a ghost from December to March. He will likely have a decent role off the bench next season, but that could change depending on what the Wolves do in the draft and in free agency.
Apr 17 - 10:17 AM

Nemanja Bjelica was effective off the bench on Monday against the Rockets, grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds with 11 points, one assist and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes.

That’s back-to-back double-doubles after posting just one all season before Saturday. Bjelica also scored a career-high 18 points on Thursday, so he’s having some nice bookends to his first season after a nice start. The problem was the other 50 games in between, so he is unlikely to be worthy of drafting next year.
Apr 12 - 12:21 AM

Nemanja Bjelica scored 11 points with 10 rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday.

It's just the second double-double of his career and this might have been his best game. Bjelica is coming off a career-high 18 points on Thursday, so he's closing out his rookie season on a high note. That said, he really fell off from December to March.
Apr 10 - 1:38 AM

Nemanja Bjelica scored a career-high 18 points against the Kings on Thursday with four rebounds, two assists, one block and four 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

He turned in a tidy 114.3 effective field goal percentage in this win. Bjelica was one of the most efficient players back in November, but his defensive screw-ups and foot injury derailed his season. The former EuroLeague MVP has some work to do before he has value in fantasy leagues again.
Apr 8 - 1:08 AM

Nemanja Bjelica scored 15 points with eight rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers in 35 minutes against the Jazz on Friday.

He was one of the most efficient shooters back in November, but coach Sam Mitchell went away from Bjelica since January. Gorgui Dieng was in foul trouble for this game, so don't overreact to Bjelica playing well in his game.
Apr 1 - 11:56 PM

Nemanja Bjelica (foot) returned on Friday with no points, one rebound, one assist and one turnover in seven minutes.

He had some rust, but the minutes won't be there anyway. Bjelica can be left on the wire with coach Sam Mitchell finally playing his best guys the most.
Mar 12 - 12:48 AM

Nemanja Bjelica (foot) is not expected to have a minutes limit on Friday.

He's been out since the All-Star break and he might get out there for this game against the Thunder. Bjelica could take minutes from Damjan Rudez, but his return shouldn't affect the starters.
Mar 11 - 6:02 PM

Nemanja Bjelica (foot) went through a full practice on Thursday and said that he expects to return to action Friday vs. the Thunder.

Bjelica hasn't played since the All-Star break, and while he said he expects to return from an 11 game absence on Friday, it's worth noting that's he's officially being listed as questionable. If he does make it back to the court on Friday it will more than likely be in a limited capacity, and with averages of just 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds on 42.9 percent shooting on the season, it's safe to leave Bjelica on the waiver wire in most leagues.
Mar 10 - 2:34 PM

Nemanja Bjelica (foot) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.

He was doubtful heading into this one, so no surprises here. Bjelica hasn't played since the All-Star break, and belongs on the waiver wire in most leagues.
Mar 8 - 7:00 PM

Nemanja Bjelica (foot) is doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.

Bjelica was hopeful that he'd be able to play this week, but it looks like he'll have to aim for Friday's game against the Thunder. While he'll see decent minutes when he's able to play, Bjelica is more of a deep league fantasy value right now.
Mar 8 - 1:51 PM

Nemanja Bjelica (foot) said that might be able to play this coming week.

He got back on the court on Saturday and was encouraged by his progress. The Wolves need help in their frontcourt behind Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng, so Bjelica might see decent minutes upon his return. He's not worth owning in most formats right now, though.
Mar 5 - 7:08 PM

Nemanja Bjelica (foot) is expected to miss around another week.

The team wants to see him run before he's out there. Bjelica can remain on the wire in almost all leagues.
Mar 2 - 5:52 PM

Nemanja Bjelica (foot) and Kevin Garnett (knee) have been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.

Bjelica hasn't played since February 10, while Garnett has been sidelined since January 23, and both guys belong on the waiver wire in all leagues.
