Flip Saunders stated during Nemanja Bjelica's introductory press conference, that the reason they were drawn to him was his ability to come in and make an impact right away.
Saunders went on to say that Bjelica was probably NBA-ready about two years ago, and that he can do things on the basketball court that other players on the roster can't, so it sounds like Bjelica could be getting consistent minutes right out the gate. He is, however, behind Kevin Martin and Andrew Wiggins on the depth chart, so that puts a cap on his upside. Jul 15 - 1:33 PM

Nemanja Bjelica has officially signed with the Timberwolves.

The reigning Euroleague MVP will sign a three-year, $12 million deal to join the Timberwolves. We'll keep an eye on the 27-year-old as training camp begins, but Bjelica may need some NBA seasoning before he makes an impact for fantasy owners.

The Timberwolves have agreed to terms with Nemanja Bjelica on a three-year deal.

The Wolves were able to get a buyout worked out with Fenerbache and they'll have the Serbian forward this season. The Wolves had some serious issues at power forward last season, but they're a little better this year with Karl-Anthony Towns. Although, he was the Euroleague MVP last season, so he might be able to gather some playing time. We'll keep an eye on him.

Nemanja Bjelica reportedly exercised an out clause with Fenerbache Ulker of Turkey on Wednesday, and he appears set to come to the states to play for the Wolves.

There was a report on Tuesday that said Bjelica was unlikely to play in summer league, but hopefully this news changes that. Head coach Flip Saunders believes that Bjelica has the ability to play small forward and power forward in the NBA, but he will likely be stuck behind Andrew Wiggins in the rotation.
Jul 1 - 8:50 AM

Flip Saunders said he was "not optimistic" of his chancing of getting Nemanja Bjelica to play for the Wolves Summer League team.

It sounds like we'll have to wait for the preseason to get a good look at Bjelica. He'll likely begin his NBA career backing up Andrew Wiggins, which could make it difficult for him to produce enough statistically to be considered a viable option in standard leagues.

Flip Saunders said that he expects Nemanja Bjelica to join the Timberwolves next season.

"I think we will bring Bjelica over, he's given every indication he wants to come to the NBA," said Saunders. "Has ability to play small forward and power forward." If Bjelica does indeed make the jump to the NBA, it sounds like he'll serve as one of Andrew Wiggins' primary backups, so his upside would be limited. As a side note, Saunders said he doesn't believe the Wolves will be active during free agency as they have both first-rounders signed and expect Bjelica to join the team on what is being reported as a three-year, $12-million-plus deal.
Jun 28 - 5:54 PM

The Timberwolves and Nemanja Bjelica are discussing a three-year, $12 million-plus deal that could be finalized by next week.

Bjelica is already 27 years old, but he just won the Euroleague MVP Award and is loaded with talent. A 6'10 forward with guard skills, Bjelica could immediately compete for minutes in Minnesota thanks to his crafty ball-handling skills, playmaking ability and shooting stroke from long range. He averaged 11.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in Turkey last season while shooting 54 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from beyond the arc. We will let you know if the deal becomes official, but it sounds like Bjelica will be in Minnesota this season.

The Timberwolves are reportedly nearing an agreement to bring over Nemanja Bjelica for the 2015-16 season.

Bjelica is fresh off winning the Euroleague MVP, and it looks like he's ready to make the jump to the NBA. Bjelica is a 6'10" guard with solid ball handling abilities and passing skills. He'd be competing for minutes with the likes of Ricky Rubio, Zach LaVine and Kevin Martin in Minnesota, but with both Rubio and Martin a constant injury risk, it's possible Bjelica could eventually find a solid role in the rotation. He'll be an interesting player to monitor leading up to the regular-season if he does indeed come stateside.

The Timberwolves could look to trade former 35th overall pick Nemanja Bjelica if they are unable to sign him this summer.

Bjelica reportedly wants a three-year, $15 million deal from the Wolves, but it's unclear if Minnesota is willing to fork over that kind of money for him. Bjelica is a 6'10" forward with good ball-handling skills and playmaking ability, and he has been very impressive with Fenerbache Ulker (Turkey). If the Wolves are willing to trade Bjelica, the Spurs, Mavericks, Heat, Nets and Bulls are all said to be interested.
Jun 7 - 10:57 AM

The Timberwolves are reportedly pursuing a deal to sign former 35th overall pick Nemanja Bjelica this summer.

Bjelica is a 26-year-old power forward who currently plays for Fenerbache Ulker in Turkey, and even though he is under contract with his club until the end of next season, the Wolves may be able to pry him away during the summer and sign him to a multi-year deal. Bjelica is an exciting prospect and is currently averaging 12.6 points and 8.1 boards in 26.4 minutes per game this season while also shooting 38.6 percent from deep. Nothing is imminent right now, but we will conitune to follow this story closely. To be clear, Bjelica is not on the fantasy radar in any league at the moment.

Serbian SF Nemanja Bjelica wants to exhaust the possibility of joining the NBA before signing with a European team this summer.

A rumor out of Russia last week suggested that the Wolves had made an offer to Bjelica, but there is nothing to support that idea. In fact, beat writer Jerry Zgoda has "heard nothing to indicate Flip [Saunders] thinks [Bjelica] or any Euro prospect is NBA ready next season."

Wolves GM David Kahn said he is in discussions to bring some of the team's drafted European prospects to Minnesota in June for evaluations.

Kahn said that one of the players might be ready for the NBA. He didn't mention whom it was, but educated guesswork points to 6'10" forward Nemanja Bjelica. Other prospects the Wolves may work out include second-round picks Henk Norel and center Paulao Prestes.

Timberwolves second-round F Nemanja Bjelica signed a contract with Spanish Club Caja Laboral on Monday.

Bjelica signed for five years, but there is a buyout option to leave for the NBA after two. The athletic and skilled small forward would be 24 if he joins the Wolves in two years. Perhaps they'll also have Ricky Rubio in the flod by that time.

Wizards selected Nemanja Bjelica with the 35th pick in the draft, but will send him to the Timberwolves as part of a draft-day trade.

A long small forward out of Serbia, but we aren't likely to see him in the NBA for awhile.
