Landry Fields is starting again on Friday night against the Pacers.
Well, it wasn't a matchup against LeBron James on Tuesday after all because the Pacers do not have a big group of starters. Fields is still not going to be worth owning in standard leagues and he probably won't stick in the starting lineup much longer. Greivis Vasquez will come off the bench again. Dec 12 - 7:04 PM

Landry Fields had four points, two assists and two steals in 23 minutes during an unexpected start vs. Cleveland on Tuesday.

He displaced Greivis Vasquez in the starting lineup and played well enough to challenge for another start against the Pacers on Friday. Tonight's line is a fair representation of Fields' fantasy potential, however, and he's only worth considering in very deep formats.
Dec 9 - 9:47 PM

Landry Fields has drawn a surprise start against the Cavaliers on Tuesday, sending Greivis Vasquez to the bench.

There is no word as to whether or not this a permanent move, but the Raptors have struggled lately and will roll with a new lineup against LeBron James and the Cavaliers. Fields' game doesn't translate to fantasy very well, but we will let you know how he does post-game. Owners of Greivis Vasquez should be patient and see how this plays out. Stay tuned.
Dec 9 - 7:18 PM

Landry Fields (illness) is active for Saturday against the Jazz.

He missed Thursday's game due to an illness. Fields has played 2.7 minutes per game on the season, so he's not necessarily going to play tonight.
Nov 15 - 5:58 PM

Landry Fields (flu) will not suit up for Thursday's game vs. the Bulls.

Lucas Nogueira will move to the active roster for tonight's game, but it'll be tough for him to get off the bench with Jonas Valanciunas, Chuck Hayes, and Greg Stiemsma ahead of him on the depth chart. Fields is only averaging 2.8 minutes on the season, so his absence has almost zero impact on the Raptors' rotations.
Nov 13 - 6:41 PM

Landry Fields (flu) will not play Tuesday night, which will move Bruno Caboclo to the active roster.

There's a lot of hype surrounding Caboclo, but not much should be expected as he's filling in for a guy who was averaging just 2.8 minutes off the bench. Caboclo may enter his first professional NBA game tonight, but he belongs on the waiver wire in nearly all leagues.
Nov 11 - 6:50 PM

Landry Fields is fighting the flu and may not dress for Tuesday's game vs. the Magic.

If Fields is unable to go, Bruno Caboclo will be available to play. Bruno has yet to make his professional debut, and tonight could be the night. However, not much should be expected from the 19-year-old, as he'd be filling in for a guy who is currently averaging just 2.8 minutes a game.
Nov 11 - 6:14 PM

Landry Fields started at SF for the Raptors during Tuesday's exhibition, but he didn't attempt any shots in 14 minutes of action.

Fields finished with two assists and two turnovers. The absence of Terrence Ross (knee, ankle) might be the only reason he stepped on the court. He played more than 14 minutes in only 11 games last season, and the arrival of James Johnson and rookie Bruno Caboclo don't improve his season outlook.
Oct 8 - 1:09 AM

Landry Fields (back) is available to play against the Nets on Wednesday.

He missed Game 4 on Sunday due to back spasms which he appeared to suffer in Game 3. Fields is used more for when the Raptors need size or rebounding on free throw attempts and he's no lock to see double-digit minutes tonight.
Apr 30 - 6:23 PM

Landry Fields will not play against the Nets on Sunday due to back spasms.

He went diving into the stands on Friday and perhaps that's what caused this injury. Fields had back spasms earlier in his career and missed plenty of action, so he could be looking at a multiple-game absence. Greivis Vasquez and John Salmons may get some more run.
Apr 27 - 6:26 PM

Landry Fields may return to the Raptors' rotation for Game 2 on Tuesday.

Fields "could get some time" defending Paul Pierce or Joe Johnson, according to beat writer Ryan Wolstat. He recently missed time with an upper respiratory illness but he's since fully recovered, and if he does play his minutes should come at the expense of Terrence Ross or John Salmons.
Apr 21 - 2:01 PM

Landry Fields will not play against the Bucks on Monday due to an upper-respiratory illness.

He's been out of the rotation anyway and the Raptors won't miss him. Fields probably won't play on Wednesday night and has played just 10.7 minutes per game in 30 outings. Obviously, signing him was a bit of a mistake a couple off seasons ago.
Apr 14 - 5:55 PM

Landry Fields did not make the trip to Detroit as he is still fighting an upper respiratory sickness.

Even if Fields was in uniform, he might not have played as he's picked up his fair share of DNPs this season. Fields is averaging 2.3 points, and 2.0 rebounds on the season, and is not a fantasy option in any format.
Apr 13 - 2:16 PM

Landry Fields will not play against the Knicks on Friday due to a respiratory illness.

He won't get to play against his former team tonight, but the illness might have been a moot point in that regard considering he has four straight DNPs. Fields has no fantasy value.
Apr 11 - 5:35 PM

Landry Fields played well as a fill-in starter for Terrence Ross (ankle) on Sunday, scoring eight points on 4-of-5 shooting with six rebounds and one steal.

This came out of the blue given Fields' rough season, to put it mildly. The four-year veteran missed time after having wrist surgery and he's averaging a career-worst 2.3 points on 35.6 percent shooting, a far cry from his impressive rookie campaign with the Knicks (9.7 points, 39.3 percent from downtown). Ross may be ready to play in Toronto's next game on Friday and there's no reason to consider Fields in average fantasy formats despite this solid performance.
