Landry Fields (hip) will miss five months after undergoing labrum surgery.
Fields is an unrestricted free agent and is unlikely to play during the 2015-16 season after this news. While it's still possible the 27-year-old is able to resurrect his NBA career next season, he isn't worth monitoring for fantasy purposes. Sep 3 - 12:32 PM

The Knicks have reached out to free agent Landry Fields.

[Insert Knicks quiet free agency joke here]. Fields had a nice run with the Knicks to start his career and the Raptors overpaid him, but he's unlikely to get a deal for more than two years. Additionally, he's working on shooting left handed this offseason.
Jul 1 - 5:22 PM

Landry Fields was a DNP-CD on Saturday.

The Knicks not re-signing Fields in 2012 was probably their best decision in this decade. He's not worth owning in all leagues.
Jan 10 - 11:40 PM

Landry Fields (concussion) returned to action on Friday, scoring two points on 1-of-3 shooting with three rebounds and one assist in 16 minutes.

Fields is one of the least productive players in the league and has no fantasy value.
Jan 3 - 2:44 AM

Landry Fields (concussion) will start on Friday and James Johnson will head to the bench in Friday's game against the Warriors.

It makes sense that Fields gets the nod to try and cover the Warriors' quicker backcourt. Fields will be slotted in for 10-20 minutes tonight and steal a tiny bit of value from the bench unit.
Jan 2 - 10:39 PM

Landry Fields (concussion) passed the concussion protocol at practice on Friday and was a full participant.

He will need to get clearance later today, but it sounds like he's going to be ready to go. Fields could take back his starting job, which would take away from James Johnson's minutes. Fields is not a great fantasy option either way.
Jan 2 - 3:56 PM

Landry Fields (concussion) will not play on Tuesday vs. Portland.

This is his now his fifth straight game out of the lineup and there is no clear indication on when he will return. James Johnson will continue to start and is worth a look in most leagues. Fields can be cut across the board.

Landry Fields (concussion) will not play on Sunday vs. Denver.

This will be his fourth straight game on the sidelines, and he has still not passed his concussion testing. James Johnson has been starting in Fields' absence and is worth a look in all leagues for his ability to rack up blocks and steals. Fields should be cut across the board.

Landry Fields (concussion) is out for Saturday's game vs. the Clippers.

He failed his concussion testing Saturday morning and will remain on the sidelines. James Johnson will continue to see an increase in minutes and is worth a look in most leagues.

Landry Fields (concussion) will not play against the Bulls on Monday.

After he was cleared of a concussion on Saturday, the team eventually diagnosed him with one on Sunday. James Johnson played 24 minutes and had a decent line, so expect him to have a solid outing tonight, as well.

Landry Fields (concussion) is out for Sunday's game against the Knicks.

He failed a concussion test on Sunday morning and he will now have to pass the NBA's protocol for concussions before being cleared again. James Johnson is the main beneficiary in Fields' absence, and is worth a look in most leagues.

Landry Fields was cleared for a concussion and was at practice on Saturday.

He needed stitches to his head from Friday and it appears he will be fine. Fields plays about 20 minutes per night and only has value in extremely deep leagues. James Johnson doesn't get a bump in fantasy value.

Landry Fields received stitches to his head on Friday and will not return.

He had a scary fall and might have suffered a concussion. Fields was in the starting lineup for the Raptors, so they might need to mix it up. James Johnson replaced Fields at the time of the injury and would make the most sense. He's worth a look in standard leagues.

Landry Fields is starting again on Friday night against the Pacers.

Well, it wasn't a matchup against LeBron James on Tuesday after all because the Pacers do not have a big group of starters. Fields is still not going to be worth owning in standard leagues and he probably won't stick in the starting lineup much longer. Greivis Vasquez will come off the bench again.
Fri, Dec 12, 2014 07:04:00 PM

Landry Fields had four points, two assists and two steals in 23 minutes during an unexpected start vs. Cleveland on Tuesday.

He displaced Greivis Vasquez in the starting lineup and played well enough to challenge for another start against the Pacers on Friday. Tonight's line is a fair representation of Fields' fantasy potential, however, and he's only worth considering in very deep formats.
