Jarvis Varnado is expected to sign a 10-day contract with the Heat, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Varnado was waived by the Celtics earlier in the week, but he was originally a second-round pick by Miami. The Heat will sign him as long as he clears waivers.

He's played a total of 12 minutes and scored only six points all season with the Celtics. He was signed to a non-guaranteed deal by the Celtics on December 24 and could wind up signing a 10-day deal at some point later this year.

The Celtics will reportedly sign F Jarvis Varnado out of the D-League.

Varnado was a second-round pick for the Heat in 2010, but he's since played in Israel, Italy and the D-League before getting this call-up with the Celts. In 31 minutes with Sioux Falls this season, the 6'10" forward was averaging 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.9 blocks per game.
