Timofey Mozgov missed all three of his field goal attempts on Sunday, hitting a pair of free throws to finish with two points, six rebounds and two blocks in 28 minutes vs. the Thunder.
He was coming off three straight double-doubles so he earns a pass for this dud, but quiet games won't be uncommon given his garbage-man role offensively -- he had a usage rate of 9.1 percent on Sunday. Mozgov has still returned top-100 value over the past seven games, so owners should strive to remain patient. Jan 25 - 7:26 PM

LeBron James said that new teammate Timofey Mozgov is a "walking double-double."

Mozgov has had a few peaks and valleys since joining the Cavaliers, but over the past two games he's averaging 15.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.0 blocks, while shooting a combined 15-of-26 from the field. Cleveland is riding a four-game win streak and fantasy owners who stuck with Mozgov have to be pleased with the expansion of his role since leaving Denver.

LeBron James said the Cavs are "clicking" and credited their recent success to Timofey Mozgov.

The Cavs have won four consecutive games and James said it's no coincidence that their success has come with Mozgov more integrated with the team. "It's funny, I was talking to my friend the other day and I said he's probably the best, as far as big, true big," James said. "He's probably the best one I've played with since Z [Zydrunas Ilgauskas]." Mozgov has averaged 11.75 points, 9.75 rebounds, and 1.25 blocks during the Cavs' four-game win streak and deserves to be owned in all fantasy leagues as long as he's rolling like this.
Jan 22 - 10:21 AM

Timofey Mozgov had 16 points, 11 rebounds, a steal and two blocks as the Cavs beat the Jazz to win their fourth straight game.

After some pretty shaky and inconsistent play early with the Cavs, Mozzy appears to be getting comfortable with his new team. He had 15 points, 15 boards, two steals and a block in his previous game, and could be ready to make a run. Make sure he's not available in your league.
Jan 21 - 10:44 PM

Timofey Mozgov scored 15 points with 15 rebounds, one steal and two blocks in Monday's win over the Bulls.

Mozgov had been struggling but this should be a sign that his standard league value isn't dead in the water. David Blatt has experience with him and he usually produces within a pretty predictable range, so late-round value is a pretty reasonable expectation. Give him a hard look if he was dropped.
Jan 19 - 11:51 PM

Timofey Mozgov scored 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting with three rebounds and no steals or blocks in Friday's win over the Clippers.

Mozgov had multiple rebounding threats working against him from both squads, and this is probably the opposite of what we'll see on most nights. There's no guarantee that he can have the same type of value that he had in Denver, but Kevin Love's back situation might help and a few more games under former Russian coach David Blatt will help. He's not a must-own player at this time.
Jan 17 - 3:00 AM

Timofey Mozgov scored four points with 10 rebounds, one assist and one block against the Lakers on Thursday.

While the Cavs are healthy, there is just not going to be many shots/plays for him. Mozgov isn't the strongest rebounder and his block rate is also down, so he's not exactly a hot property in standard leagues.
Jan 16 - 1:26 AM

Timofey Mozgov struggled on Tuesday, finishing a road loss in Phoenix with only two points, six rebounds and four turnovers in 16 minutes.

Mozgov missed all three of his field goal attempts and was thoroughly outplayed by Suns center Alex Len, and his ineffective play led to more minutes for backup Tristan Thompson (10 points, six rebounds in 32 minutes). The Cavs are treading water and they'll need Mozgov to play well to creep up the Eastern Conference standings, so fantasy owners should exercise some patience as he adjusts to his new team.

LeBron James was "thrilled" with the Timofey Mozgov acquisition, a source told

It's become laughable how obvious it is when LeBron's camp is planting information in the media since his return to Cleveland. Mozgov had a double-double in his first start with the Cavs on Sunday, but Cleveland was steamrolled by the Kings, so LeBron couldn't have been too happy about that.
Jan 12 - 9:21 AM

Timofey Mozgov double-doubled in his first start for the Cavaliers, posting 14 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in 33 minutes vs. the Kings.

Mozgov made 6-of-8 field goals and didn't turn the ball over once, and his inability to check DeMarcus Cousins defensively is understandable, especially since Mozgov's new teammates didn't give him much help. He should keep the starting center job all season and is worth an immediate pickup if he's still floating on your waiver wire.
Jan 11 - 11:35 PM

Timofey Mozgov is expected to start on Sunday vs. DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings.

The move will likely send Tristan Thompson to the bench, as the Cavaliers know better than to let Cousins feast on him in the paint. Mozgov was very active during his debut on Friday, scoring nine points with eight boards and one block in 27 minutes. If Mozgov continues to see more than 25 minutes per game, which he likely will now that he is going to start, he is going to be worth owning in most leagues.
Jan 11 - 11:09 AM

Timofey Mozgov made his Cavs debut on Friday against the Warriors, scoring nine points on 3-of-7 shooting with eight rebounds and one block in 27 minutes.

Owners shouldn't summarily right off his value in Cleveland and they shouldn't hold his recent slump against him. The story is usually pretty simple with Mozgov -- if he gets 25-plus minutes he'll probably be worth owning.
Jan 10 - 3:48 AM

Timofey Mozgov is not expected to start and it will likely be Tristan Thompson against the Warriors.

Really? This is the fourth different update we've had on Mozgov's status today. Fantasy owners should avoid Thompson and Mozgov tonight.
Jan 9 - 6:55 PM

Timofey Mozgov is now probable to start against the Warriors and has passed his physical.

His status has been like a yo-yo today and chances are he'll be active. While coach David Blatt is familiar with Mozgov on the Russian national team, he's still unlikely to play him big minutes and the coach also said earlier today that Mozzy is doubtful to play. Plus, Mozgov's rebound rate will likely fall off while the Cavs won't be drawing up any plays for him either. Considering how many young centers are emerging these days, Mozgov isn't worth grabbing in standard leagues. Tristan Thompson can also be let loose, too.
Jan 9 - 3:28 PM

Updating a previous report, Cavs' head coach David Blatt said that he doesn't expect Timofey Mozgov to play Friday vs. the Warriros as he still needs to pass his physical.

There was an earlier report stating that Mozgov was expected to enter the starting lineup for Friday's game, but it appears that his status is now in jeopardy. However, the Cavs did not trade for Mozgov for him to be a backup, so once he is ready to go, it seems like only a matter of time until he sends Tristan Thompson to the bench. Stay tuned.
