Timofey Mozgov played 36 minutes and scored a season-high 17 points to go along with seven rebounds and three blocks in Wednesday's win over the Thunder.
Mozzy blew up for 14 points and 11 boards in 40 minutes on Monday, but owners may have left him on the bench in weekly leagues, as production and minutes were a bit of a problem before Monday. Hopefully the Nuggets are ready to roll with him night-in and night-out, so make sure he's not available in your league now that he's getting all those minutes. Nov 20 - 3:11 AM

Timofey Mozgov logged a whopping 40 minutes in Monday's road win over the Cavs, double-doubling with 14 points, 11 boards, one steal and one block.

Perhaps Brian Shaw is done experimenting with JaVale McGee (eight minutes) and Jusuf Nurkic (inactive), but one big-minute outing isn't enough to carve that into stone. Still, Mozgov's game translates well to fantasy and after a night like this he should be owned in most, if not all 12-team leagues.
Nov 17 - 10:13 PM

Timofey Mozgov put up eight points and six rebounds as the Nuggets fell to the Knicks on Sunday.

Mozgov is currently only averaging 21 minutes per game this season, to go with 7.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks. He's competing for minutes with JaVale McGee and Jusuf Nurkic, and while Mozzy is the guy to own out of the group, he's far from a must-start option.
Nov 16 - 6:11 PM

Timofey Mozgov had six points, seven rebounds and no blocks in 22 minutes on Wednesday.

His minutes have been all over the board this season and coach Brian Shaw can't seem to figure out how to manage this team effectively. Mozzy had seven points, 16 rebounds and three blocks on Sunday, but got this week off to a dreadful start tonight. Ty Lawson is the only sure bet right now, and he's been slowed by injuries. Mozzy is still probably worth holding until Shaw figures this out, but owners should expect inconsistency for the time being. And the problem is not JaVale McGee, who played just four minutes tonight.
Nov 13 - 1:22 AM

The Nuggets lost on Sunday despite getting seven points, three blocks and a season-high 16 rebounds from Timofey Mozgov.

Mozgov's career-high is 29 rebounds, which gives an idea of his upside in that department. His solid play earned him 36 minutes tonight, while JaVale McGee had just five points and three rebounds in 15 minutes, but this is a position battle which could easily irritate Mozgov's fantasy owners for a long time.
Nov 10 - 12:04 AM

Timofey Mozgov was quiet again in Friday's lightly contested loss to the Cavs, scoring just five points with only five rebounds in 21 minutes.

It's hard to jump all over Mozgov when the Nuggets are a dumpster fire these days and everybody appears to be frustrated with one another. J.J. Hickson's suspension just ended tonight, too, adding another layer of complication to the situation. Mozgov is usually pretty consistent with his minutes, but we'd understand if you wanted to move on. Just realize that once the drama clears that he could be a nice No. 2 center play.
Nov 8 - 4:35 AM

Timofey Mozgov played just 11 minutes and had seven points, one rebound and a block in Wednesday's ugly loss.

Mozgov looked more like Tina Fey than a basketball player tonight, but JaVale McGee had just nine points and two rebounds in 13 minutes, and Jusuf Nurkic had six points, five boards and two blocks in 13 minutes. It's starting to look like Brian Shaw doesn't know what he's doing, but it's also possible a three-way timeshare is happening before our eyes at center. Don't cut Mozzy just yet, but get him out of your starting lineup if you can.
Nov 6 - 1:33 AM

Timofey Mozgov dealt with foul trouble against DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings on Monday, logging 16 minutes with 10 points, six rebounds and one block.

It's not a bad game considering the circumstances and Boogie is going to do this to foul-prone opponents nearly every single time. JaVale McGee showed some nice spark off the bench and he's officially the backup center, but Mozgov's minutes should remain in the 20-25 range barring a faceplant, making him a safe low-end center.
Nov 4 - 1:25 AM

The Denver Nuggets are expected to pick up Timofey Mozgov's option for next season in the near future.

His option will pay him nearly $5 million next season, the final year of his current contract. He would then be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2016, and would be sure to draw some serious interest. Mozgov only played 18 minutes on Saturday, but was able to post 10 points, two rebounds, two steals, and one block. He is still worthy of a roster spot in standard leagues, but owners should be aware of an impending timeshare with Javale McGee.

Nov 2 - 10:42 AM

Timofey Mozgov played just 18 minutes against the Thunder on Saturday with 10 points, two rebounds, two steals and one block.

He wasn't in foul trouble and coach Brian Shaw just went with JaVale McGee a little more. Mozgov's minutes are going to hang around the low 20s, but he does enough with boards and blocks to keep him owned as a low-upside guy in standard leagues.
Nov 2 - 1:21 AM

Timofey Mozgov double-doubled on Wednesday with 13 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in 25 minutes.

His minutes are safe with JaVale McGee not ready to resume a consistent role. Mozgov isn't going to be the sexiest fantasy asset on your team, but the stats are going to be there and he's even taking 3-pointers now. He's worth owning in all leagues.
Oct 30 - 1:47 AM

Timofey Mozgov had a quiet night on Tuesday, scoring six points with three rebounds and two blocks, while racking up five fouls in 16 minutes.

Fouls haven't been a particular problem for Mozgov, who seems to have the starting center job locked up despite JaVale McGee's return to action. Fantasy owners should view Mozzy's splits as a starter last year as the floor of his value -- 10.8 points on 51.9 percent shooting, 7.6 rebounds, 0.4 steals and 1.3 blocks in 25 minutes per game.
Oct 22 - 12:43 AM

Timofey Mozgov scored 18 points with six boards, one assist, two steals and one block in 27 minutes.

He made his first 3-pointer of the preseason and he only needed three attempts to do it. Mozgov is locked in as the starting center and with JaVale McGee (leg) not too close to returning, Mozzy is worth a look late in drafts.
Oct 17 - 12:32 AM

The Denver Nuggets have been receiving inquiries about Timofey Mozgov's trade availability.

With his $4.6 million salary for 2014-15, Mozgov represents one of the better big man values in the NBA and the Nuggets don't seem inclined to give him up. The 28-year-old will likely open the regular season as Denver's starting center as JaVale McGee rehabs his knee and has a good chance of holding onto the job even when McGee is healthy. Mozgov averaged 15.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game during the month of April last season and is a well worth a late-round pick in standard fantasy leagues.

Head coach Brian Shaw heaped praise on Timofey Mozgov during a recent interview, saying he's been one of his favorite players.

"[Mozgov's] been my favorite," Shaw said. "Just because as a coach, he's kind of like a coach's dream. He does everything that you ask him to do. It's nice to see when it pays off." Mozgov is currently projected as the teams' starting center with JaVale McGee (knee) still on the mend; however, it's difficult to see the star of Shaqtin' a Fool to overtake Mozgov for the starting spot once he returns to the court. Mozgov is a beast on the glass, and doesn't hurt you in any one area of the game, making him an appealing late round selection in standard leagues.
