Timofey Mozgov scored 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting with three rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 31 minutes on Tuesday vs. the Thunder.

The Lakers needed his size against Steven Adams tonight and he rewarded them with some of his best minutes of the season. Mozgov was only getting 21.4 minutes per game prior to Tuesday and his upside is limited, so he's a deep-league asset until further notice.
Nov 23 - 1:14 AM

Timofey Mozgov scored a season-high 20 points with six rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes vs. the Nets on Tuesday.

Where did that come from? Mozgov was 7-of-11 from the field and this was his second largest workload of the season, but it smells like a fluke. He was averaging 7.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 21.5 minutes per game prior to Tuesday, so leave him on the wire unless he does this again.
Nov 16 - 1:10 AM

Timofey Mozgov (eye) returned to action on Friday vs. the Warriors, scoring four points with five rebounds, one assist and one block in 16 minutes.

The Warriors tend to go small, so that explains the low minutes for Mozzy. Prior to this dud, he was averaging 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 22.0 minutes, so he's better suited for deeper leagues.
Nov 5 - 1:44 AM

Timofey Mozgov (eye) will play against the Warriors on Friday.

He had a doctor's appointment today and it went well. Mozgov should be able to resume his normal role as the main screener and rim protector. His return will hurt the upside of Larry Nance and Julius Randle while Ivica Zubac and Tarik Black see their roles diminish.
Nov 4 - 8:53 PM

Timofey Mozgov (eye) will be a game-time decision to face the Warriors on Friday night.

His soft tissue contusion around his left eye is causing him to be re-evaluated every day until he's cleared. Mozgov was considered as doubtful on Thursday, so he may not be out there. If he does miss this game, we'll see more Ivica Zubac, Tarik Black and Julius Randle at the five. Larry Nance would also be in a good spot, as well.
Nov 4 - 2:26 PM

Timofey Mozgov (eye) has been diagnosed with a soft tissue contusion around his left eye and he doubtful for Friday against the Warriors.

The Lakers will re-evaluate him daily until he gets cleared. Mozgov had protective glasses even on the sidelines for Wednesday's game and he'll likely have to wear something in games once he comes back. With Mozzy out on Wednesday, it was Ivica Zubac starting with 19 minutes, Tarik Black getting 16 minutes and Julius Randle playing more five. Randle and Larry Nance figure to benefit the most for fantasy purposes.
Nov 3 - 3:24 PM

Timofey Mozgov (eye) will have additional tests and be examined by team doctors on Thursday.

He has already been ruled out for Wednesday and could now miss additional time. A CT scan on Mozgov was inconclusive for additional injuries and he has already been diagnosed with a left eye contusion. With Mozgov out of the lineup for the final 15 minutes of Tuesday's game, Tarik Black played 10 minutes at center and Julius Randle played five. While both of those guys benefit, Larry Nance also benefits with Randle sliding to the five more often. We'll see if the Lakers kick the tires on Ivica Zubac.
Nov 2 - 3:48 PM

Timofey Mozgov (left eye) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Hawks.

Mozgov caught an elbow to the face via Jeff Teague during Tuesday's loss to the Jazz, and his face looked like an MMA fighter that had just lost a fight after the game. We're still awaiting the results of the CT scan, but with Mozzy on the sidelines Wednesday night, it could be Tarik Black or Thomas Robinson sliding into the starting five while rookie Ivica Zubac could make an appearance in the rotation. There will also be more minutes for Larry Nance and Julius Randle.

Timofey Mozgov (eye) will undergo a CT scan on Wednesday.

Mozgov had four sutures in his mouth after the game and his left eye was reportedly swollen shut. The Lakers initially diagnosed him with a left eye contusion, but he will undergo a scan to rule out a possible orbital fracture. He should be considered highly questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Hawks. Tarik Black, his backup, finished with six points, eight rebounds and one block in 19 minutes.
Nov 1 - 10:22 PM

Timofey Mozgov (left eye contusion) went to the locker room for the second time on Tuesday vs. the Jazz and will not return.

He returned to the game after taking a Jeff Teague elbow to the face, but he was poked in the eye on his way to the hoop and wasn't able to attempt the free throws -- NBA rules will not allow a player to keep playing if they don't take their free throws. Mozgov is expected to get sutures after the game and will undergo a scan on Wednesday to rule out an orbital fracture. Tarik Black is his replacement.
Nov 1 - 9:01 PM

Timofey Mozgov took a Jeff Teague elbow to the face and went to the locker room, but he will return on Tuesday vs. the Pacers.

It was an unintentional hit. Mozgov returned from the locker room with a bag of ice, but he's available to keep playing. We'll have an update after the game.
Nov 1 - 8:40 PM

Timofey Mozgov finished Wednesday's 120-114 victory with 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting, eight rebounds, two assists and two turnovers in just 22 minutes.

Mozgov scored 12 points early but he faded into the background late, as both teams opted for smaller lineups. His playing time will fluctuate based on matchups, as much as anything, but overall this is a strong start for owners who snagged Mozzy with a flier pick.
Oct 27 - 1:45 AM

Timofey Mozgov (tailbone) returned to practice on Saturday.

Mozgov was already declared ready for the season opener, but it's nice to see him back on the practice floor before the year begins.
Oct 22 - 5:10 PM

Timofey Mozgov (tailbone) will be available for the season opener.

The Lakers will hold him out tonight after an injury scare on Wednesday. Mozgov has too many durability concerns to be counted on in fantasy leagues.
