Gary Neal's shoulder injury will keep him out of Wednesday's game against the Blazers.
No surprise here, but P.J. Hairston is back from his ankle injury and could get Neal's minutes tonight. Nov 26 - 11:26 AM

Gary Neal (sprained left shoulder) is being listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game vs. Portland.

If Neal is unable to go, his minutes would be split up between Gerald Henderson, Brian Roberts, and potentially P.J. Hairston if he's able to suit up. However, none of those guys make for a very attractive option in daily leagues, nor are they worthy of a pickup in standard leagues.

Gary Neal suffered a left shoulder contusion against the Clippers on Monday and will not return.

He was in a lot of pain and was in a bad mood as he went to the locker room. Neal looked like he didn't want to come out, but the team will likely give him an MRI. Brian Roberts will likely get some extra run in a two-PG lineup. He finished with eight points and one rebound in 14 minutes.
Nov 24 - 8:57 PM

Gary Neal scored 17 points in his return from a concussion on Friday, hitting 6-of-11 shots (including a three) with one rebound and one assist in 29 minutes.

Neal has been a 12-14 team producer when on the floor this season, averaging 12.6 points with 1.2 threes, 3.1 boards and 90 percent free throws on the year.
Nov 21 - 10:33 PM

Gary Neal (concussion) has been cleared and will play against the Magic on Friday.

He could get a nice chunk of minutes tonight because the Hornets are really banged up on the wing. He'll have a chance to score in the teens, but owners in standard leagues can probably do better on a busy night.
Nov 21 - 4:06 PM

Gary Neal (concussion) is being listed as probable for Friday's game vs. the Magic.

Neal still needs to pass the leagues' concussion protocol, but it's looking like he's very close to making a return. He's averaging 12.2 points and 1.2 three-pointers per game this season, so he's worth a look for owners seeking a 3-point specialist upon his return. Just know that he's also shooting 39.8 percent from the field.
Nov 20 - 7:08 PM

Gary Neal (concussion) is inactive for Wednesday's game against the Pacers.

He is still dealing with symptoms and will still have to pass the NBA's concussion protocol once he is feeling better. Neal has been a spark off of the Hornet's bench this season and when he returns he will be worth a look for owners in need of 3-pointers. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) is out Wednesday and P.J. Hairston (ankle) is doubtful, so Gerald Henderson will likely play all the minutes he can handle and is worth a look in daily leagues.
Nov 19 - 10:33 AM

Gary Neal (concussion) will miss Wednesday's game against the Pacers.

Neal is still experiencing symptoms from the concussion that he suffered during Saturday's game against the Warriors and will miss his second consecutive game on Wednesday. With Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) already declared out and P.J. Hairston (ankle) listed as doubtful, Gerald Henderson will get all the minutes he can handle and will make for a solid plug-and-play option on Wednesday.

Gary Neal (head) is still experiencing dizziness and headaches.

Neal has no timetable to return from his concussion. He can't begin the concussion protocol until he's symptom-free for 24 hours, so Neal has a very real chance to miss at least a handful of games. Without him and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) available, Gerald Henderson, P.J. Hairston and Brian Roberts will pick up the slack.

Gary Neal (concussion) will not play vs. the Mavericks on Monday.

Neal suffered the injury during Saturday's game, when he hit his head on the court, and he'll need to pass the NBA's strict concussion protocols before returning. Gerald Henderson, P.J. Hairston and Brian Roberts will each absorb some of the 24.7 minutes Neal has been averaging this season.

Gary Neal suffered a concussion on Saturday and will not return to the game, finishing with four points and three boards in ten minutes.

He hit his head hard on the court right before halftime and was in visible pain, so this comes as no surprise. He will now have to rest a few days and will have to pass the league's concussion protocol before he can play again, so consider him day-to-day for now. In his absence, expect P.J. Hairston and Gerald Henderson to pick up a few extra minutes, with neither of the two being reliable enough for standard league consideration.
Nov 15 - 11:50 PM

Gary Neal (foot) will play against the Warriors on Saturday.

He's been playing through his foot issue and it didn't seem to affect him much in Phoenix on Saturday. Neal was held out of the lineup last season with the Bucks for an extraordinarily long time, but things are a little different with the Hornets. He's a deep-league option.
Nov 15 - 9:11 PM

Gary Neal (foot) is questionable to face the Warriors on Saturday.

He played through his foot injury on Friday and had 14 points in 25 minutes. The Hornets would need him to play minutes in the 20s with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) out tonight.
Nov 15 - 6:57 PM

Gary Neal played through a foot injury on Friday, scoring 14 points on 4-of-13 shooting with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 25 minutes off the bench.

Neal wasn't even a sure thing to go tonight and he started off real slow, but eventually dug out a win for deep-league owners relying on him. In nine games and at 26.4 minutes per contest, he's returning top-125 value and has carved out a nice little role for himself.
Nov 15 - 2:39 AM

Gary Neal (foot) is expected to play Friday vs. the Suns.

Neal doesn't have much fantasy value in a backup role, so this news doesn't mean much to owners in standard leagues.
