Gary Neal started for Kevin Martin (illness) on Monday, scoring 19 points on 6-of-17 shooting (including two threes) with a career-high nine rebounds, four assists and one steal in 41 minutes.
If Martin misses another game it wouldn't be surprising to see Neal step right back into Martin's uber-productive role. He won't be this good every night, but he's worth watching closely given Martin's injury risk. Mar 2 - 11:53 PM

Gary Neal will start for Kevin Martin (illness) on Monday against the Clippers.

He is coming off a nice 16-point game on Saturday and should get minutes. Still, Neal is a very risky player to use tonight. We might also see Zach LaVine play some shooting guard, which hasn't happened in the second half yet.
Mar 2 - 6:56 PM

Gary Neal came off the bench for 28 minutes on Wednesday and had seven points, four rebounds, two assists and a 3-pointer on 2-of-5 shooting.

He was iffy coming in due to an ankle injury, but obviously, Flip Saunders felt like it was no big deal, even though Neal was actually doubtful at one point because of it. He didn't do much with the minutes, but he should at least be watched closely in case this wasn't a fluke.
Feb 26 - 12:26 AM

Gary Neal (ankle) will be available to play against the Wizards on Wednesday.

He was listed as doubtful and it's still unclear if he'll play. He is one of just a few wings on the bench for the Wolves, so the team might need him. Neal is still nowhere near being worth owning in most leagues.
Feb 25 - 7:06 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) is being listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game vs. Washington.

Neal only managed to get in the game for 11 minutes during his Timberwolves debut, so his absence from the lineup doesn't have any real fantasy implications. He's stuck in a backup role in Minnesota, and he's not going to be worth owning in most leagues as long as Kevin Martin is healthy.
Feb 24 - 6:20 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) will not play against the Rockets on Monday.

Neal said the ankle sprain is "bad," and he will not be able to suit up on Monday. His absence shouldn't have a real impact on the game or fantasy leagues anywhere.
Feb 23 - 12:30 PM

Gary Neal turned his ankle during Sunday's practice, and he is being considered questionable for Monday's game vs. Houston.

Neal played just 10 minutes during his Timberwolves debut, so whether he plays or not should be of no concern to owners in standard leagues.
Feb 22 - 3:40 PM

The Timberwolves still have no desire to buy out Gary Neal's contract according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

The Wolves are clearly looking towards the future, so it's a little surprising to see them hang onto the veteran guard. As long as he remains in Minnesota, it's hard to imagine him playing enough minutes to make an impact in fantasy leagues. Leave Neal on the wire.
Feb 21 - 7:22 PM

Gary Neal scored six points in 11 minutes on Friday, including two 3-pointers.

Neal is a buyout candidate and he won't have any value barring a major surprise this season.
Feb 21 - 1:45 AM

Gary Neal is expected to make his debut on Friday.

He is a buyout candidate and there's a chance he doesn't play tonight. If he does play at all, it might take away minutes from Zach LaVine or Shabazz Muhammad.
Feb 20 - 3:15 PM

The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly one of several teams making a push for Gary Neal.

While there are at least four other playoff teams rumored to be interested in Neal's services, the Hawks have the added benefit of Neal's history with head coach Mike Budenholzer from their San Antonio days. While Neal will serve as a solid bench scorer for a playoff team, he can be left on the wire in all but the deepest fantasy leagues.
Feb 19 - 12:38 PM

Gary Neal was at practice on Wednesday night.

The Wolves would like to trade Neal and he could be bought out, as well. Neal should have interest from a number of teams, but he can be left on the wire in almost all fantasy leagues.
Feb 18 - 9:08 PM

The Timberwolves and Gary Neal have yet to engage in "serious buyout talks" and he's expected to report to practice on Wednesday.

Neal has been clear about his desire to leave Minnesota and sign with a contending team, but he'd be in violation of his contract if he skips Wednesday's practice. He's a marginal fantasy option who can be ignored by standard-league owners regardless of where he finishes the season.
Feb 17 - 9:41 PM

The Atlanta Hawks are among several teams that would reportedly be interested in acquiring Gary Neal should he pursue a buyout with the Timberwolves.

Neal is a sharpshooter with limitless range, so it's obvious why so many contending teams are interested in the veteran guard. However, he likely wouldn't have a substantial role wherever he lands, so this news shouldn't have too many fantasy implications. With averages of 9.6 points, 1.9 assists, 2.1 boards and 0.9 3-pointers in 21.7 minutes per game, Neal is only worth a look in ridiculously deep leagues.
Feb 13 - 2:13 PM

Gary Neal is not with the team on Wednesday.

He did take his physical, so that shouldn't hold up the other end of the deal with the Hornets' side. Neal could be bought out and is not worth owning in most leagues.
