Gary Neal has agreed to a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Wizards.
Since his departure from San Antonio, things have not gone well for Neal at all. The Bucks and Hornets both dumped him after some reported issues, and he's also had some struggles at shooting the rock. He'll likely just be some Bradley Beal insurance and is unlikely to get more than 20 minutes off the bat. This deal is expected to be in the bi-annual exception, so it won't affect the cap number. Gary Neal has a "strong market" for a deal, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Shooting? Neal has made 38.1 percent from deep in his career, which converts to a 57.2 effective field goal percentage. Neal has been a bit of a headache to two of his last three teams, so he won't be too hot of a commodity.
Jul 1 - 5:45 AM

Gary Neal could be involved in a sign-and-trade deal this offseason.

Neal is a free agent, and although he won't be back with the Timberwolves, Minnesota could help jettison him to a new home.
Jun 29 - 12:45 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) will not play on Wednesday vs. the Thunder.

Getting traded to Minnesota ruined his fantasy value this season, and it's pretty obvious that he isn't a huge part of their plans moving forward. Chase Budinger is doubtful tonight while Kevin Martin is questionable, meaning Lorenzo Brown and Robbie Hummel could see a lot of action.
Apr 15 - 11:20 AM

Gary Neal (ankle) will not play on Monday vs. the Pelicans.

His last chance to play this season will be on Wednesday vs. the Thunder, but it doesn't look very likely at this point. Chase Budinger will continue to be the primary beneficiary off the bench for the Wolves and is worth owning in all leagues.
Apr 12 - 2:03 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) will not play on Saturday against the Warriors.

He is hopeful to play on Monday night, but there's a chance he's out for the season. Chase Budinger has been the sixth man and is worth owning in all standard leagues.
Apr 11 - 3:31 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) is hopeful to play in Minnesota's final two home games against the Pelicans on Monday and the Thunder on Wednesday.

Neal currently isn't traveling with the team, so it's safe to say that we won't see him in action vs. the Warriors on Saturday. It will be ultimately be up to head coach Flip Saunders and the team's doctors if Neal is allowed to play, so we will update his status once we know more. In the meantime, Chase Budinger should continue to get plenty of run off the bench and is worth owning in standard leagues.
Apr 11 - 12:17 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Lakers.

Neal is not traveling with the team, so he'll more than likely miss Sunday's game against Golden State as well. Chase Budinger will continue to fill in as the Timberwolves' Sixth Man with Neal on the sidelines, and he's worth owning in standard leagues for his solid contributions to the 3-point and steals categories.
Apr 9 - 2:53 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) did not travel with the team for their upcoming road trip.

He is likely out for four games and he might be out for the season. Robbie Hummel, Chase Budinger and Lorenzo Brown will be coming off the bench for the Wolves. Budinger easily has the most value right now.
Apr 6 - 3:28 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) practiced on Saturday, but his status is still unknown for Tuesday's game vs. the Kings.

The Wolves are desperate for bodies and just found out that Ricky Rubio (ankle) is out for the season, so Neal could potentially make some noise in deeper leagues if he ever returns to action. However, until Neal is cleared to play, he belongs on the wire in most leagues.
Apr 4 - 1:04 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) appears to be the closest to returning this season, but will not play on Friday.

That's not good news for those who are expecting Ricky Rubio to return. Neal still doesn't have much value in fantasy for now, but he could get back on the radar once he suits up.
Apr 3 - 6:53 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) has been upgraded to questionable for Friday's game vs. the Magic.

Neal hasn't played since March 22, so he'll likely have his minutes held in check even if he's able to play tonight. Until he's healthy and back in the rotation, Neal belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Apr 3 - 12:50 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) is doubtful to play Friday against the Magic.

Even if Neal somehow manages to play, he'd likely return in a limited capacity as he's been sidelined since March 22. At this point in the fantasy season, there's no reason to own Neal in any leagues.
Apr 2 - 5:04 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) will not play Wednesday vs. the Raptors.

Neal has not played since March 22, and remains without a clear timetable to return. He belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues. Expect Lorenzo Brown and Chase Budinger to continue to log heavy minutes for a Minnesota team that has been decimated by injuries.
Mar 31 - 4:31 PM

Gary Neal (ankle) will not play on Monday against the Jazz.

Neal was doubtful coming into this one, and it doesn't appear he's anywhere close to making his return. Without him, Lorenzo Brown and Chase Budinger will continue to pick up extra minutes.
