Gary Neal (leg) is on track to start resuming basketball activities in June.
He had surgery this week to repair a torn hip labrum that he suffered in December, and this means that he should be ready for the start of the 2016-17 season. Neal averaged 9.8 points, 2.1 boards, 1.2 assists and 1.0 3-pointers on 46.5 percent shooting for the Wizards this season. He will likely try to join a contender this summer. Apr 8 - 10:43 AM

The Wizards are reportedly in the process of waiving Gary Neal (leg).

Neal's right leg injury has turned into a significant issue, and with Bradley Beal (hip) hurting, the Wizards can't just wait around for Neal to get healthy. Marcus Thornton is expected to sign with the Wizards once Neal is officially off the books, and there's currently no reason to own Neal in any setting.
Mar 9 - 12:18 PM

Gary Neal (leg) did not travel with the team and is out Tuesday.

He is out indefinitely. Neal would be playing now with Bradley Beal (leg) out, but it'll be Garrett Temple, Alan Anderson and Ramon Sessions stepping up.
Mar 7 - 5:04 PM

Gary Neal described his right leg injury as "neurological."

Neal has been out for 12 straight games, and we're now listing him as out indefinitely until there is a clear timetable established for his return. The veteran shooting guard said the Wizards haven't been able to pinpoint his injury, and that's not a good omen for his potential return. With Neal out, Alan Anderson, Garrett Temple and Ramon Sessions all stand to benefit, especially if Bradley Beal (pelvis) is forced to miss time.

Gary Neal (leg) will not play against the Pacers on Saturday.

He did not travel on the two-game road trip, but the team will hold him out again. Alan Anderson will be back after some rest to get minutes on the wing. Neal can be ignored in almost all leagues.
Mar 5 - 2:44 PM

Gary Neal (thigh) will not travel with the Wizards for their upcoming two-game road trip.

Neal will miss Wednesday's game in Minnesota as well as Friday's game in Cleveland, which will result in more minutes for Garrett Temple and Bradley Beal. Neal should not be owned in any leagues.
Mar 1 - 6:09 PM

Gary Neal (thigh) will not play on Monday against the 76ers.

He has been out since Feb. 9 with his thigh injury. Brad Beal and Garrett Temple will continue to get the majority of the shooting guard minutes.
Feb 29 - 5:23 PM

Gary Neal (right thigh) will not play on Sunday against the Cavaliers.

Neal will miss his ninth consecutive game due to the nagging thigh injury. He is off the radar in all leagues, anyway.
Feb 28 - 11:26 AM

Gary Neal (leg) did not travel with the Wizards for Friday's game vs. the 76ers.

He was a late scratch for Wednesday's game vs. the Bulls, but it makes sense for the Wizards to be cautious since Alan Anderson is back in the mix. Neal is safe to leave on the wire in most leagues.
Feb 26 - 11:45 AM

Gary Neal (right thigh) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.

It'll be Neal's sixth straight game on the sidelines, which will result in more playing time for Garrett Temple and Ramon Sessions. None of these guys can be considered viable targets in most leagues while Bradley Beal is healthy.

Gary Neal (leg) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Bulls.

Neal was expected to play on Tuesday, but ended up getting ruled out after the tip. He hasn't played since February 6, so expect his minutes to be limited if he is able to play. Neal can't be considered a viable target in almost any setting.
Feb 24 - 5:47 PM

The Wizards ruled Gary Neal (leg) out of Tuesday's game with a little more than three minutes to go in the first quarter.

He missed the five previous games, but it's a little odd that the Wizards waited until the game started to actually rule him out. Maybe he aggravated his leg in warmups, but he wouldn't have played many minutes anyways. Garrett Temple and Bradley Beal both benefit.
Feb 23 - 7:26 PM

Gary Neal (leg) is a go for Tuesday's game vs. the Pelicans.

He'll be returning from a five-game absence, and he'll likely resume his limited role off the bench. Neal isn't worth owning in most leagues while Bradley Beal is healthy.
Feb 23 - 5:25 PM

Gary Neal (leg) is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's game vs. New Orleans.

Neal went through Tuesday morning's shootaround, so he'll likely be able to return to the court tonight following a five-game absence. However, with the Wizards finally getting healthy, Neal is unlikely to earn enough minutes to make a difference in fantasy hoops. Leave him on the wire.
Feb 23 - 4:46 PM

Gary Neal (leg) was present at shootaround on Tuesday.

Neal was able to practice on Monday, so he could have a shot at suiting up against the Pelicans on Tuesday after missing Monday's game. While it would be a boost to the Wizards to get Neal back, he can be ignored in standard fantasy leagues even if he's able to return.
