Nerlens Noel voiced his support for Ish Smith during All-Star weekend, saying that Ish "has to come back" as a free agent next season.
"He has to come back," Noel said. "He has to. He's an important piece to this and why we are so playing so well these past couple of months. And he's helped us at the point guard position, you know, just setting guys up in the post position. So he's got to come back." Noel's game has seen a major boost since Ish joined the roster, but Smith's return to the team will likely depend upon what Philly does on draft day. Feb 14 - 4:54 PM

Ish Smith (ankle) retuned from a one-game absence and scored 16 points with nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and one 3-pointer on 7-of-24 from the field in 33 minutes against the Clippers on Monday.

So much for the 24-minute restriction. Smith does have some shooting issues right now, making just 35.5 percent from the field in his last seven. On the bright side, he does have averages of 14.4 points, 4.4 boards, 6.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.3 treys. He is what he is.
Feb 8 - 11:07 PM

Ish Smith (ankle) will start against the Clippers and has a 24-minute restriction.

He only needed to miss one game after a Friday ankle sprain. T.J. McConnell will move back to the bench and the two figure to split the minutes at the one. Smith gets a tougher matchup tonight, so he's probably not someone you'll want to use in DFS tonight.
Feb 8 - 5:20 PM

Jerry Colangelo is noncommittal on Ish Smith's (ankle) future with the 76ers beyond this season

"Where he was picked [an undrafted free agent], because he's bounced around quite a bit, and it's a great story that finally maybe he's landed somewhere where he could do a lot more than fit that description or that role," Colangelo said. "And I think you always have to keep your options open on everything." Smith has an ankle issue that kept him out of his last game, but should be back soon. We should have an update on his status for Monday night against the Clippers later this afternoon. T.J. McConnell would be the biggest winner if Smith sits again.
Feb 8 - 2:35 PM

Ish Smith (ankle) will not play against the Nets on Saturday.

Smith tweaked his ankle in the last 90 seconds of a blowout on Friday, so the 76ers will keep him out in a very important game to lose for tanking purposes. Expect Smith to be ready to go next week. Besides McConnell, there could be some Kendall Marshall at the point tonight.
Feb 6 - 5:56 PM

Ish Smith said that he sprained his left ankle on Friday vs. the Wizards.

"I don't know," Smith said when asked if he would play on Saturday vs. the Nets. "I should be fine. I should be, but I just rolled it, sprained it." We will consider him questionable to play, but his availability will likely depend on whether or not his ankle swelled up on him overnight. If Smith is held out, expect T.J. McConnell and Isaiah Canaan to benefit.
Feb 6 - 11:09 AM

Ish Smith made 11-of-25 from the field for 22 points with five rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block in 32 minutes during a 106-94 loss to the Wizards on Friday.

That's a lot of usage, but the efficiency wasn't too bad despite no makes from deep. Smith's lack of efficiency has put him near top-150 value, but he's close to top 50 if you don't care about percentages. His value has a lot to do with the construction of your team, so keep that in mind if you have Ish and your trade deadline is approaching.
Feb 5 - 11:32 PM

Ish Smith dished out seven assists vs. the Hawks, adding seven points, three rebounds, one steal and two turnovers in 26 minutes.

This game got out of hand early and Brett Brown wound up playing all 13 available players, 10 of whom logged 15+ minutes. Inefficiency has taken a toll on Smith's roto value, but he's been top-60 value in points leagues since Jan. 1.
Feb 3 - 10:24 PM

Ish Smith made 7-of-19 from the field for 16 points during a thrilling 108-105 loss to the Warriors on Saturday, adding five rebounds, nine assists, four steals and one turnover.

The 76ers used multiple lineup combos of Smith, T.J. McConnell and Isaiah Canaan tonight, which had not been used before this game. Smith was 2-of-10 from the field to start the game, so he kind of salvaged a decent game. He's still worth owning in standard leagues despite hurting FG%.
Jan 30 - 8:04 PM

Ish Smith offered a mixed bag vs. the Pistons, posting 13 points with three rebounds, six assists and one block, while shooting 6-of-18 from the field with six turnovers.

Smith is steadying presence for the Sixers' offense, and his pick-and-roll chemistry with Nerlens Noel was on display yet again, but it won't always be smooth sailing. Smith is a career 39.9 percent shooter who is regressing to the mean in his past five games -- owners should brace themselves for another bumpy ride vs. the Warriors on Saturday.
Jan 27 - 11:12 PM

Ish Smith hit 7-of-17 shots for 20 points, five rebounds and nine assists in 32 minutes on Tuesday.

Smith struggled on Sunday but bounced back tonight and is averaging 14.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 9.0 assists over his last five games. Some threes or steals would have been nice tonight, but at least the rest of his line was productive.
Jan 26 - 10:07 PM

Ish Smith struggled during Sunday's loss to the visiting Celtics, shooting 3-of-12 from the field for seven points, one rebound and four assists.

Smith added two steals and one block in 26 minutes but it just wasn't his night tonight -- he finished with a game-low +/- rating of -36 and was outplayed by backup T.J. McConnell (eight points in 16 minutes). Smith has been tremendous since re-joining the Sixers and he was coming off consecutive double-doubles, so he should get back on track vs. the struggling Suns on Tuesday.
Jan 24 - 9:45 PM

Ish Smith double-doubled in 30 minutes vs. the Magic on Wednesday, scoring 13 points and handing out 11 assists, while shooting 6-of-11 from the field.

Smith is averaging 19.2 points and 9.0 assists in Philly's past six games, and continues to shine as the engine of the offense. His efficient shooting tonight was a welcome sight, and it's partly due to the fact that he attempted zero 3-pointers -- he's shooting just 31.5 percent from deep this season, and 41.6 percent overall.
Jan 20 - 10:17 PM

Ish Smith was the 76ers offense during a 119-113 double-overtime loss in Madison Square Garden on Monday, making 8-of-28 from the field for 16 points with seven rebounds, 16 assists, two steals and four turnovers in 44 minutes.

It's a career high in dimes and obviously the most amount of shots or misses he's had in his career. The 76ers fought valiantly in this game to come back from 18 down to get to OT and most of it was because of Ish running the offense with a ton of pick-and-roll with Nerlens Noel. He's locked in with minutes in the 34-39 range most nights and could be a top-10 assist man going forward. Side note: Ish had an absurd 74.6 usage rate in the first overtime today while he assisted on the two non-Ish makes.
Jan 18 - 4:52 PM

Ish Smith made 6-of-9 from the field for 16 points with two rebounds, five assists, one steal and no turnovers in 25 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday.

He's been fairly efficient in his previous five with a 46.8 field goal percentage, adding averages of 20.6 points, 4.2 boards, 8.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 treys. Smith is emerging as a must-start point guard right now and the offense is built around him.
