Ish Smith was back in the Pistons' rotation on Sunday, coming off the bench for six points on 3-of-7 shooting, six assists, two assists and one rebound in 30 minutes.
Stan Van Gundy said he wanted to give Smith a game off "to sit and recalibrate," though it's not clear what the veteran guard was 'recalibrating' from in the first place. Smith would only be worth considering if Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's shoulder injury proves to be a long-term issue. Jan 16 - 12:39 AM

Ish Smith played 15 minutes with eight points, one rebound, six assists, two steals and two 3-pointers against the Wolves on Friday.

If you haven't cut Smith in your fantasy league yet, go ahead and do it now. He likely won't be playing more than 15 minutes most nights.

Ish Smith had just two points on 1-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 22 bench minutes vs. Charlotte on Wednesday.

Smith had double-digit assists in two of his previous three games, but we've been waiting for the other shoe to drop now that Reggie Jackson is healthy. Jackson's minutes are on the rise, which is a direct threat to Smith, whose owners should be keeping a close watch on the waiver wire.

Ish Smith played 30 minutes off the bench on Tuesday and hit just 2-of-11 shots, but still finished with seven points, five rebounds and 10 assists in a win over the Bulls.

Reggie Jackson played just 18 minutes and while Smith didn't play well, he was still effective. His run is coming to an end, but Jackson still isn't ready to run the show by himself in Detroit. If you own Smith, just hold onto him until this picture becomes a little clearer. There's a chance Jackson could be held out on Wednesday against the Hornets.

Ish Smith played 25 minutes off the bench on Sunday, finishing with 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting, two assists, one rebound and zero turnovers.

Reggie Jackson (knee, thumb) returned tonight but he was on a strict minute-limit. Stan Van Gundy loves to give his starters heavy minutes, with Jackson and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope likely to dominate the backcourt, so Smith may not see this type of playing time for long. He's been very efficient lately, but is still a cut candidate for a more promising free agent.

Ish Smith will return to the bench for Sunday's game against the Magic.

Reggie Jackson (thumb, knee) is making his regular-season debut tonight, although he'll be a minutes limit, so perhaps Smith can still churn out some low-end value. Still, his fantasy clock is ticking, as it'll be tough for him to do much on a nightly basis once Jackson is fully up to speed.

The Pistons finished their back-to-back set with a win in Boston on Wednesday, aided by Ish Smith's 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

Smith sank 9-of-12 shots with zero turnovers in 36 minutes of action, a stellar performance that we're unlikely to see re-produced once Reggie Jackson (knee, thumb) gets back on the court. Stan Van Gundy loves to play his starters heavy minutes, and Smith and Jackson aren't likely to share the court on a routine basis, so he'll be a cut candidate in the near future.

Ish Smith played a season-low 18 minutes vs. Miami, scoring six points with three rebounds and two assists.

Smith shot 2-of-6 from the field and he simply didn't need to play much with the score out of hand early, though it didn't help that Beno Udrih played well with 12 points and five dimes in 30 minutes off the bench. The biggest threat to Smith's value is the impending return of Reggie Jackson (knee, thumb), who is expected to return in early December. Once R-Jax is back, it shouldn't take long for Smith to fade into fantasy obscurity.

Ish Smith scored 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting Saturday, to go with seven assists, four boards, one steal and one block in 33 minutes.

Smith has been solid with the assists (6.5) and steals (1.4) this season, but he rarely shoots efficiently (39.0 percent from the field on the year) and his limited contributions to the other areas of the box score has him ranked outside the top-150 in standard 9-cat leagues. He is what he is, but he likely won’t be worth owning once Reggie Jackson (thumb, knee) gets back to the court, which should happen within the next few weeks.
Sat, Nov 19, 2016 09:59:00 PM

Ish Smith hit 6-of-7 shots and a 3-pointer for 14 points, eight dimes and two steals in Wednesday's loss to the Knicks.

After a lull he's scored in double digits in four straight games and had eight assists in two of them. He should be good to go, but will take a big hit once Reggie Jackson finally returns from his knee and thumb injuries.
Thu, Nov 17, 2016 07:22:00 AM

Ish Smith hit 4-of-8 shots for 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in 30 minutes of Monday's win over the Thunder.

He was dropped in some leagues recently, but as long as he's the starting PG for the Pistons, he's probably worth rostering in most leagues. He's hit double figures in scoring in three straight games and is averaging 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.6 steals over his last five games. Just don't look for him to make 3-pointers and know that he'll take a big hit once Reggie Jackson (knee/thumb) is ready to play for Detroit.

Ish Smith scored 10 points and tied a season high by dishing out eight assists on Saturday night vs. the Nuggets.

Although he has been inefficient offensively, Smith has been doing a decent job running the team in place of the injured Reggie Jackson. He was 5-of-12 from the floor on Saturday and also committed four turnovers. Smith will be relegated back to waiver wires once Reggie Jackson returns to the lineup next month.
Sat, Nov 12, 2016 11:35:00 PM

Ish Smith made 3-of-13 from the field for nine points with three rebounds, seven assists, four steals, two blocks and two turnovers in 32 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday.

He's having some terrible efficiency issues, posting just a 36.3 true shooting percentage. As far as the basic stats go this season, Smith is averaging 9.3 points, 2.1 boards, 6.9 assists, 2.0 turnovers, 1.4 steals and 0.1 treys on 33.7 percent from the field. Reggie Jackson (knee) will be back at some point, so Smith's owners shouldn't plan on holding him all year.
Thu, Nov 10, 2016 01:28:00 AM

Ish Smith was held to two points on Monday vs. the Clippers, adding three assists, one rebound and two turnovers in 24 minutes.

It was easily Smith’s worst game of the season, but his teammates weren’t much better. The Pistons could be getting Reggie Jackson (knee) back in 2-3 weeks, so it's not a bad idea to sell Smith once he inevitably bounces back.
Tue, Nov 8, 2016 01:22:00 AM

Ish Smith shot just 5-of-17 from the field on Sunday, finishing with 11 points, seven assists, two rebounds and four turnovers in 31 minutes.

Smith has played for 10 teams in his six-year NBA career, but he's never had as prominent a role as he's playing for the Pistons without Reggie Jackson (thumb, knee). He's worth deploying as No. 2 point guard in most leagues, despite being a career 40.1 percent shooter (64.5 percent from the FT line).
