Heat waive Mickell Gladness.
The Heat need to trim five players from their roster by opening night, and Gladness was an early cut. Erik Spoelstra often praised his potential, but there's no room for another project center in Miami's bulging lineup. Sun, Oct 21, 2012 03:42:00 PM

The Heat coaching staff "likes the upside" of Mickell Gladness.

We heard similarly earlier in September when Erik Spoelstra was said to like the center's potential, but upside and potential only go so far when players are trying to make a final roster. Gladness will have to really show something in training camp to make the team.

Erik Spoelstra likes the potential of Mickell Gladness.

When speculating on the final composition of the roster, beat writer Ira Winderman writes, "I'd probably have Gladness next, if only because of all I have heard in recent days about how much Erik Spoelstra likes his potential." Even if Gladness does make the regular season roster, he's going to have a very difficult time getting off of the bench.

Heat sign C Mickell Gladness.

The contract is non-guaranteed. The Heat have added Gladness as a training camp body and it is yet to be determined if he will stick around for the regular season. Gladness started his career with Miami, but spent the end of last season with the Warriors. He won't be fantasy relevant.

Mickell Gladness is "hopeful" that he can earn a training camp invite from the Heat.

Gladness began the 2011-12 season with Miami, but he finished with the Warriors before returning to the Heat for summer league. Gladness may earn an invite because of the mutual familiarity between himself and the team, but he's got a long way to go before we can say he's got a legitimate shot of being a part of the final roster.

Mickaell Gladness started at center for the Warriors on Wednesday and had eight points, five rebounds, a steal and block in 23 minutes.

Andrew Bynum (31 points) and Pau Gasol (triple-double) had their way with Gladness and Jeremy Tyler (15 points, six rebounds, a steal and block) manning the paint for the Warriors tonight. Gladness is a stretch for fantasy value, but Tyler might be worth a look in deeper leagues.

Mickell Gladness played 14 minutes in his start at center on Monday against the Spurs, scoring no points with just three rebounds to his credit.

As beat up as the Warriors are, Gladness still has no real fantasy value until he proves otherwise.

Mark Jackson is "toying with the idea" of moving Jeremy Tyler to power forward and playing Mickell Gladness at center while David Lee (groin) is sidelined.

The Warriors are already starting three rookies, and with operation tank city in full effect, why not make it four? Lee will be out indefinitely with his groin issue, and Golden State might as well get a look at Gladness to see what he's capable of doing. Gladness has played just four games in April, but it is reasonable to believe he should see time down the stretch. Regardless, he's not on the fantasy radar.

Mickell Gladness returned to action on Wednesday with no points and two rebounds in a 97-94 victory over the Timberwolves.

Gladness has returned from his personal leave but is simply insurance at the end of the bench.

Mickell Gladness has temporarily left the Warriors due to a family matter.

Gladness signed a guaranteed contract for the rest of the season on Sunday and then was immediately forced to take off. He's just depth at center behind Jeremy Tyler and Andris Biedrins.

The Warriors signed center Mickell Gladness for the remainder of the season on Sunday.

Gladness is averaging just 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds in six games for the Warriors, but will continue to provide some depth in their frontcourt. He is not a fantasy option.

Mickell Gladness played 10 minutes in his Warriors debut on Thursday, grabbing two rebounds with two blocks.

Gladness missed his only shot attempt and we're not expecting much from him, but we'll let you know if he can fill the void at center in Golden State.

Warriors signed C Mickell Gladness to a 10-day contract.

The Warriors are desperate for any big body with a pulse right now. Andrew Bogut (ankle) is out for the year, they missed out on J.J. Hickson and Andris Biedrins is dealing with a groin injury. Raw Jeremy Tyler started at center on Wednesday.

The Warriors will sign Mickell Gladness to a 10-day contract on Thursday.

Gladness spent much of this season in Miami, but it looks like he'll now head to the Warriors after Golden State missed out on J.J. Hickson.
Thu, Mar 22, 2012 08:10:00 AM

The Heat have allowed Mickell Gladness's second 10-day contract to expire.

Gladness can now only can be re-signed for the balance of the season, otherwise he is a free agent. Gladness shouldn't be on any fantasy rosters, no matter the technicalities of his contract status.
