Donald Sloan will be suiting up for the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the CBA next season.
Sloan probably could have signed another NBA contract after playing 61 games in Brooklyn during his 2015-16 campaign, but a larger role and more lucrative contract offer likely lured him back to China. Wed, Jul 20, 2016 11:43:00 AM

Donald Sloan gave the Nets a lift off the bench on Sunday with 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting, five assists, three rebounds and three 3-pointers.

Sloan didn't turn the ball over in 35 minutes of action and he spent plenty of time alongside starting PG Shane Larkin, who notched 15 points, eight assists and four boards in 35 minutes. It's encouraging to see the two sharing the court, rather than cannibalizing each other's minutes, but Sloan has been too inconsistent to trust outside of deep leagues.

Donald Sloan did not score on Wednesday against the Wizards with five assists and one turnover in 17 minutes.

He's clearly lost ground to Shane Larkin, who scored nine points with eight assists in 31 minutes. Sloan shouldn't be owned in most leagues while Larkin is an option for PG-needy owners.

Donald Sloan (illness) will not play on Sunday vs. the Pelicans.

The Nets are going to be very shorthanded on Sunday, so Shane Larkin is going to get all the minutes he can handle and is worth a long look in DFS. Sloan hasn't done much since his demotion to the bench, so he belongs on the wire outside of deeper leagues.

Donald Sloan made all three from the field and all five from the line for 11 points with five rebounds, five assists and one steal in 21 minutes against the Pacers on Saturday.

It'll be Shane Larkin starting the rest of the way even though Sloan has played some solid ball. He should still get around 22 minutes, so he might have value this week. Quick math suggests he could still get over 100 minutes with five games this week, which could be solid considering the Nets might rest players in some of those. He's someone to consider for some owners in deeper leagues.

Donald Sloan will return to the bench for Thursday's game against the Cavs, with Shane Larkin drawing the start.

Sloan was awful in his previous outing, going scoreless through 27 minutes of action. It's unclear just how long this lineup switch will stick, but Sloan has been really cold lately, and is not worth owning in standard leagues at this juncture in the fantasy season.

Donald Sloan missed all five of his shots and failed to score in Tuesday's loss to the Hornets.

He did have six assists, but no steals as the starting point guard. He's only hit double figures in one of his last five games and isn't even worth starting in fantasy right now.

Donald Sloan started on Tuesday but hit 3-of-5 shots for nine points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal on Tuesday.

He had just seven points and three assists on Sunday, but Shane Larkin hasn't done much either as his backup. You can probably find a point guard better than either of these guys on your waiver wire.

Donald Sloan scored 14 points with nine rebounds, nine assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes against the 76ers on Friday.

He is coming off a two-point game and Shane Larkin was gaining on him before this terrific stat line. Larkin and Sloan will continue to split the minutes at point guard and are at the mercy of the hot-hand approach most nights. Neither is worth owning in standard leagues.

Donald Sloan hit just 1-of-6 shots for two points and five assists in 28 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Raptors.

It wasn't too long ago that Sloan looked like he was going to take the starting point guard job in Brooklyn and run with it, but he's been pretty quiet for three straight games. The first two of those were minutes-related (18 & 14) and tonight his shooting was the culprit. He easily out-minuted Shane Larkin, but the struggle is real. The bottom line is that you shouldn't want either of the Brooklyn point guards starting for your team right now.

Donald Sloan scored 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting vs. the Jazz on Saturday with six assists, two boards and one steal in 27 minutes.

Shane Larkin (four points and five assists in 21 minutes) still isn't a major threat to Sloan's role, so this is still his starting spot to lose. He is averaging 12.0 points, 5.6 boards, 4.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.6 3-pointers over his last five games and will continue to be a low-end asset for owners desperate for guard help.

Donald Sloan scored 13 points with nine rebounds, six assists and one turnover in 24 minutes against the Suns on Thursday.

He did have the ball in his hands a little more with Joe Johnson out of the picture. Sloan isn't the most efficient player, so the extra usage may not help him much. Unless you're in the hunt for a point guard, let's wait to see him do it again.

Donald Sloan scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting with four assists, five rebounds and one steal in 33 minutes vs. the Blazers on Tuesday.

Shane Larkin (seven points, three assists) hasn't played well for Brooklyn this season, so Sloan's role as the starter is safe as long as the Nets don't sign any guards out of the D-League or in free agency. Sloan is averaging 10.2 points, 4.4 boards, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 3-pointers on 50.0 percent shooting from the field and is worth a look if you need a low-end guard.
Wed, Feb 24, 2016 02:04:00 AM

Donald Sloan had 14 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals, a block and two 3-pointers on 5-of-8 shooting in Friday's win over the Knicks.

He played 30 minutes and has been playing well of late, averaging 9.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five. He's easily worth owning over Shane Larkin, but still battles with consistency from game to game. But if you need a point guard, he's worth a serious look after tonight's line.
Fri, Feb 19, 2016 10:50:00 PM

Donald Sloan scored 17 points against the Kings on Friday with four rebounds, one assist and four 3-pointers.

This has been too annoying to try and figure out who is the better player. Shane Larkin had a bad game with three points, one rebound, two assists and one steal in 17 minutes. Most owners should just ignore both guys.
