Donald Sloan started at PG for the Pacers on Sunday, scoring 12 points with two 3-pointers, two rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes vs. the Mavericks.
George Hill was rested and coach Frank Vogel decided to bring C.J. Watson off the bench to keep his typical second unit intact. Sloan is the Pacers' third-string point guard, in other words, and he's not a realistic fantasy option. Oct 12 - 10:09 PM

The Pacers have decided to guarantee guard Donald Sloan's contract for $948,000 this season.

Sloan's deal was partially guaranteed for $350,000 and he gives them extra insurance behind George Hill and C.J. Watson. Pacers president Larry Bird said that his team will do "whatever it takes" to avoid entering the luxury tax, so it makes sense that he'd retain a cost-efficient player like Sloan.
Aug 12 - 2:28 PM

Donald Sloan scored a team-high 21 points in Saturday's 101-81 Orlando Pro Summer League loss to the Nets to go with four boards, three assists and one steal.

He made 9-of-11 at the line and was Indiana's best player today. Sloan wasn't very good last season even when George Hill needed to miss time, so he's not likely to be a major part in the rotation.
Jul 5 - 11:35 AM

Donald Sloan will start at point guard vs. the Bucks on Wednesday with the regular starters getting rest.

The Pacers won't have C.J. Watson all the way back, so Sloan could see all the minutes he can handle tonight. His numbers obviously aren't very impressive at 7.3 minutes per game, but his per-36-minute averages are decent at 9.7 points, 3.9 boards, 4.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 triples. It's a decent matchup for him, so Sloan isn't the worst option at point guard for owners who are feeling saucy.
Apr 9 - 2:30 PM

Donald Sloan returned from a personal absence on Monday, logging 12 minutes on his way to five points, two rebounds and a steal.

Sloan is filling in for C.J. Watson and the Pacers have plenty of guys to play backup point guard in a pinch. He has no fantasy value.
Mar 17 - 10:20 PM

Pacers guard Donald Sloan is expected to return from a personal absence on Monday.

He should absorb 10+ minutes in a backup role with C.J. Watson (elbow, hamstring) still questionable to play, but fantasy owners can ignore him as long as George Hill is healthy.
Mar 17 - 1:51 PM

Donald Sloan is not with the team for this weekend's games for personal reasons.

He will not play on Friday and Saturday. The Pacers have C.J. Watson back from an elbow injury, so there's no need for Sloan on the second unit.
Mar 14 - 7:21 PM

The Pacers and free agent PG Donald Sloan have agreed on a multi-year contract.

Sloan signed with a team in China in February, and his last significant NBA stint came with the Cavaliers last year when he averaged 4.1 points and 1.9 assists in 13 minutes per game. With George Hill and C.J. Watson already filling the Pacers' PG position, we don't expect to see very much of Sloan this season.

Donald Sloan is close to reaching a deal to play in China, a source told CBS Sports.

Donald Sloan's 10-day contract with the Hornets has expired and he's not expected to be re-signed.

Donald Sloan made his Hornets debut on Monday, playing just 28 seconds with no statistics.

Sloan was a depth signing and will need to overtake Brian Roberts before any discussion about his fantasy value is worth having.

Hornets sign G Donald Sloan to a 10-day contract.

The move was expected and is now official. Sloan couldn't beat out Jeremy Pargo in Cleveland, so he's not going to make an impact with the Hornets, either.
Mon, Jan 7, 2013 11:08:00 AM

The Hornets are expected to sign Donald Sloan.

He couldn't beat out Jeremy Pargo to be Kyrie Irving's backup and Sloan will now have to compete with Brian Roberts for minutes. Roberts has been solid in his rookie season, so there's not a lot to like with Sloan.
