Jan Vesely has opted into his contract with Fenerbache of Turkey for the 2017-18 season.
Widely considered as one of the best players in Europe, Vesely reportedly drew interest from the Nets, 76ers and Mavericks this summer before agreeing to return to Turkey. He averaged 9.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.6 blocks and 1.4 turnovers in 24.5 minutes per game, helping Fenerbahce win its first Euroleague title ever. He's 27, so hopefully we'll see him get another chance in the NBA in a year or two. Thu, Jul 27, 2017 09:38:00 AM

The Nets, 76ers and Mavericks have all reportedly expressed interest in bringing Jan Vesely back to the NBA.

Vesely was taken with the No. 6 overall selection in the 2011 NBA draft, but he failed to live up to expectations and was out of the league after three seasons in which he compiled averages of just 3.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. However, he's reportedly improved overseas, so maybe he can work his way back into the NBA as a role player off the bench. If he does come stateside, he'd need to be bought out of his contract with Fenerbache of Turkey.

Jan Vesely has re-signed with Fenerbache of Turkey on a three-year deal.

His contract will include NBA out clauses for every summer, but Vesely will remain overseas for at least one more season. He was drawing some interest from the NBA this summer, but he was reportedly asking for $11 or $12 million per year.

Jan Vesely reportedly has some NBA interest, but he could command $11 or $12 million per year.

That's a lot of money for a guy who owns career averages of 3.6 points and 3.4 boards for the Wizards and Nuggets. Vesely has improved overseas and has recently been linked with the Mavericks, Nets and Pelicans, but a deal for this amount of money seems unlikely. That being said, we've already seen some ridiculous contracts in the first couple days of free agency.

Jan Vesely is drawing interest from multiple NBA teams, according to Sportando.

Vesely has received interest from the Dallas Mavericks, Brooklyn Nets, and New Orleans Pelicans after a strong season with Fenerbache of Turkey. The former lottery pick is still just 26 year old and has some upside, but he won't be much more than a late-round flier no matter where lands.

Contrary to a previous report, Jan Vesely has not signed a new deal with Fenerbache of Turkey.

Fenerbahce assistant GM Omer Onan denied the rumors and said that Vesely will wait for NBA offers before he will consider re-signing with the club. This is pretty exciting considering Vesely had a lot of success overseas this season, so maybe we will see him in the states sooner rather than later.

Jan Vesely has reportedly signed a two-year extension with Fenerbahce in Turkey.

He had an impressive season in Europe and there was some rumors about a possible NBA comeback, but the 26-year-old forward will continue to wait for his next chance. Vesely has an NBA out clause in his contract for the summer of 2017.

Jan Vesely will make a decision on whether to return to the NBA after his season ends with Fenerbahce.

Vesely is still just 26 years old, but the former lottery pick didn't exactly blow the doors off the NBA during his three-year stint either. While Vesely could still end up back in the NBA, he won't be more than a late-round flier in deeper leagues if he does.

Jan Vesely is reportedly looking to return to the NBA for the 2016-17 season.

Vesely has been playing in Turkey after a failed NBA stint, but teams have been impressed with his play according to Orachio Couchi of Sportando. While he isn't on the fantasy radar for the 2015-16 season, the former lottery pick is still just 25 years old and could emerge as a late-round flier if he is able to hook on with an NBA team for next season.

Jan Vesely scored 18 points on 9-of-14 shooting with six rebounds and one steal as Fenerbahce Ulker beat the Nets on their home floor on Monday.

Vesely wasn't the only ex-NBA player to do damage, as Luigi Datome scored 16 points with five rebounds, five assists, four threes and one block, and Ekpe Udoh went for eight and eight with four assists, one block and one steal. Bogdan Bogdanovic outscored Bojan Bogdanovic 17-3, proving once and for all that you can mess with the Bojan.

Jan Vesely said he's not currently contemplating a return to the NBA.

"I'm not even thinking about the NBA now," he said. "This season I will be in Turkey. That's as far as I look." Again playing with confidence and for a team willing to give him a sizable role, Vesely could pop back up on the NBA radar, but we'll cross that bridge when if and when get there.

Jan Vesely turned some heads during the EuroBasket tournament with averages of 18.8 points and a tournament-best 9.5 rebounds per game on 61.5 percent shooting from the field, and he'll likely be named to the EuroBasket All-Star Five on Sunday.

"He's still the same talent that he was at the EuroBasket two years ago in Slovenia, but I think his game has matured," said Czech teammate Jiri Welsch. "He's our best threat in the low post. Two years ago, he was unbelievable. But it was more running and cutting. Now he's refined his post game and he's matured as a person." Vesely was largely considered a bust after being taken with the No. 6 overall selection in the 2011 draft, but perhaps he can make a return to the NBA after spending some time refining his game overseas. However, he is under contract with Fenerbahce of Turkey for the upcoming season, so there's no reason to pay him any attention on draft day.

Jan Vesely scored 24 points against Latvia during a 97-70 win for seventh place at EuroBasket, adding six rebounds, one assist and one turnover.

He lived in the paint and proved he has a little something left. Vesely was awful in the NBA two seasons ago, but teams may have some interest in him eventually.

Jan Vesely had another phenomenal game at Eurobasket, scoring 20 points with 13 boards and two steals in a win over Croatia.

Vesely has been turning some heads this summer and he has reportedly impressed GMs around the league. He is still under contract with Fenerbahce Ulker in the Turkish League, so he likely won't be coming to the NBA this season.

Jan Vesely slowed down on Thursday with eight points, one rebound and one assist against Lithuania.

He was tearing it up on the stat sheet, but he was slowed down by a formidable Lithuanian front line. Vesely is most known for being picked ahead of Kawhi Leonard when the Wizards really needed a forward and somehow making 8-of-30 from the line with the Wizards in 2013-14 before the team dumped him. NBA teams may be interested in him, but he might be better off in Europe.
