Alec Burks (ankle) scored seven points to go along with four rebounds and one 3-pointer Friday night.
Burks missed the last two games with a sprained ankle and is probably still a little hobbled. Burks has some decent 3-point potential, but he's stuck behind Mo Williams and Randy Foye, which pretty much negates his value. Apr 13 - 12:07 PM

Date:

Alec Burks (ankle) returned to practice on Thursday and is expected to be available on Friday against the Timberwolves.

It's a good sign after Burks had been held out all week, but he said he was able to "get through it" and should return to the lineup on Friday.
Apr 11 - 11:46 AM

Alec Burks will miss Tuesday's game with a sprained ankle.

He was listed as doubtful and his absence could mean good things for starter Randy Foye.
Apr 9 - 7:49 PM

Alec Burks (ankle) is doubtful to face the Thunder on Tuesday.

Burks didn't practice on Monday after not playing on Sunday, but it's not clear how severe the sprain is or how much time he might miss. Without him, Mo Williams and Randy Foye stand to pick up a few extra minutes.
Apr 9 - 12:48 PM

Alec Burks (ankle) did not practice on Monday, and his status for Tuesday against the Thunder is unknown.

Burks did not play on Sunday after suffering the injury on Friday. Mo Williams, who has been playing very well should get an even longer leash at point guard with Burks on the sidelines. Randy Foye is a candidate to pick up a few minutes.
Apr 8 - 1:15 PM

Alec Burks (sprained left ankle) will not travel with the Jazz for Sunday's game against the Warriors.

Burks suffered the injury Friday and it's unclear how severe the sprain is at this point. However, Burks is playing less than 20 minutes a night with Mo Williams with healthy so his absence shouldn't really affect your fantasy lineup.
Apr 6 - 1:28 PM

Alec Burks suffered a sprained left ankle in Friday's game against the Hornets and will not return.

He's playing under 20 minutes per game since Mo Williams has been back and doesn't really have much value in fantasy leagues. Although, Burks has improved in his sophomore season and he'll likely be back in the rotation after his ankle heals.
Apr 5 - 11:10 PM

Alec Burks played just 14 minutes on Friday, scoring four points on 2-of-3 shooting with three rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Burks has been making some noise lately but an outing like this should remind owners that his role is tenuous at best with Mo Williams back. It's probably safe to move on if you added him in a deeper format.
Mar 9 - 2:15 AM

Alec Burks came off the bench to hit 6-of-12 shots and a 3-pointer for 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal in 27 minutes of Wednesday loss at Cleveland.

Burks had 19 on Monday and is coming on, scoring in double figures in seven of his last 10 games, and three straight, while he's played at least 25 minutes in every game since Feb. 4. He'll still have his ups and downs but given Utah's strong finishing schedule, may be worth a pickup in your league.
Mar 6 - 11:07 PM

Alec Burks shot 7-of-10 from the field for 19 points to go with three boards, four assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes during Monday's 109-108 loss to the Bucks.

Earl Watson started at point guard and didn't score in 17 minutes. Burks has improved throughout the year and Ty Corbin said "we'll see" when asked about a possible change coming to the lineup. For the second time in five games, three of Utah's starters failed to score, which is ludicrous considering they scored 108 points tonight. While Burks looks good, Mo Williams (thumb) making his return would make it at timeshare at best for the point guard spot.
Mar 4 - 11:50 PM

Alec Burks hit a big 3-pointer to cap his 13-point, four-assist game in a win over the Warriors on Tuesday.

He added three boards, one steal, one block and one other 3-pointer in 25 minutes of action. Burks has really turned it up lately especially with his 3-point shooting. The Jazz are going to have a tough time keeping him on the bench once Mo Williams comes back, so it's likely to be a very crowded backcourt. Despite the improved play, Burks isn't quite worth owning in standard leagues.
Feb 20 - 12:09 AM

Alec Burks had nine points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 30 minutes on Wednesday.

He's playing very well in the absence of Gordon Hayward, who appears likely to return shortly after the All-Star break. But if Hayward's shoulder injury lingers, or he's traded, Burks could enter must-own territory sooner than later. He scored 13 and 24 points in his previous two games, so keep a close eye on him.
Feb 14 - 12:45 AM

Alec Burks had 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, a 3-pointer and six turnovers on 6-of-11 shooting in 25 minutes on Tuesday.

He's been playing well with Gordon Hayward sidelined with a shoulder injury, averaging 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.4 3-pointers over his last five games, and is a decent play on Wednesday, as Hayward has already been ruled out for that one. But once Hayward is back after the break, Burks should cool off.
Feb 13 - 12:14 AM

Alec Burks came off the bench to score a career-high 24 points on Saturday, making 7-of-15 FGs and 9-of-9 FTs in 27 minutes of action.

Burks said the Kings' passionate crowd reminded him of his college days, and he certainly played like it, adding three rebounds and one block as Utah's bench nearly clawed them back into the game. This was his second game in the past month with double-digit points, and Gordon Hayward (shoulder) will ultimately reduce Burks to an afterthought.
Feb 10 - 1:20 AM

Alec Burks scored five points on 2-of-6 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds and four assists in 25 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Burks has made some slight noise but he's not producing enough to be worth much attention in 12-14 team formats.
