The Hornets reportedly will not extend a qualifying offer to Jeff Taylor, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Taylor owns career-averages of just 6.1 points and not much else on 40.9 percent shooting from the field, so there's not a lot to like here from a fantasy perspective. He may be able to land a minimum-level deal with another team, but he can be ignored in all fantasy leagues. Jun 30 - 5:21 PM

Jeff Taylor scored a season-high 16 points against the Rockets on Monday with two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.

The Hornets' usual suspects on offense took the night off with Kemba Walker making just 2-of-10 from the field and Gerald Henderson making just 1-of-10. Taylor averaged just 6.1 points per game in his previous starts, so we're not expecting a repeat performance on Wednesday.
Apr 13 - 11:47 PM

Hornets SF Jeff Taylor started Tuesday's game but played only 20 minutes, scoring four points on 2-of-2 shooting with one rebound and one steal.

Lance Stephenson also played 20 minutes off the bench, scoring eight points with a pair of 3-pointers. Neither guy is worth fantasy owners' attention outside of very deep leagues.
Apr 7 - 10:23 PM

Steve Clifford praised Jeff Taylor's play as a starter in place of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle).

"He did a good job," coach Steve Clifford said of Taylor. "He was locked in from the beginning of the game. Last (season), when Michael Kidd-Gilchrist got hurt, he had some really good games. I think his concentration was up and he played really well." With MKG out 7-10 days, the team needs Taylor's "defensive component" in the starting lineup.
Mar 30 - 10:24 AM

Jeff Taylor scored nine points in 27 minutes against the Hawks on Saturday with two boards, two assists and no turnovers.

He was almost exactly at his previous averages as the starter except he didn't have any treys tonight. Taylor should be in this neighborhood in the upcoming week. He does have four games and will likely start all of them, so give him a look in deep weekly leagues.
Mar 28 - 9:38 PM

Jeff Taylor (ankle) is expected to start against the Hawks on Saturday.

It'll be his third start for the Hornets. In his previous two, Taylor averaged 9.0 points, 2.5 boards 1.0 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.5 treys in 26.5 minutes per game. He will likely be in the mid 20s for minutes again and these stats serve as a fair expectation. Gerald Henderson and Marvin Williams are much better players tonight.
Mar 28 - 5:25 PM

Jeff Taylor returned to the Hornets' rotation on Tuesday with three points and one steal in six minutes off the bench.

Taylor may be displacing Lance Stephenson in the bench rotation but he has no fantasy value while Gerald Henderson (21 points) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (13 points) are both healthy.
Mar 3 - 10:22 PM

Jeff Taylor started Sunday's game with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (hamstring) unavailable, finishing with six points, one 3-pointer, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 22 minutes.

MKG has already been ruled out for Tuesday's game but he could return for the Hornets' first game after the All-Star break, and Taylor's performance on Sunday should scare away any owners looking for a cheap waiver-wire pickup.
Feb 8 - 10:41 PM

Jeff Taylor will slide into the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Pacers with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (hamstring) unavailable.

Taylor is averaging just 3.8 points and not much else on the season, and it'll be interesting to see how he fares with the starting unit. We'll let you know how he does after the game, but with career averages of 6.4 points on 41.3 percent shooting, it's unlikely he'll be able to emerge as an asset in standard leagues. Leave him on the wire for now.
Feb 8 - 4:43 PM

Jeff Taylor scored a season-high nine points against the Wolves on Monday with two rebounds and two 3-pointers in seven minutes.

He came on in garbage time for his first minutes since in his last three games. Taylor won't have much fantasy value this season.
Jan 19 - 4:52 PM

Jeff Taylor was recalled from the NBA D-League on Friday.

He will be available to play against the Knicks on Saturday but he likely won't be in the rotation even with Lance Stephenson (hip) sidelined. Leave Taylor on the wire.
Jan 10 - 9:01 AM

Jeff Taylor has been sent down for a D-League stint.

Taylor is not a part of the Hornets' rotation, and he can remain on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Sun, Dec 28, 2014 04:35:00 PM

Jeff Taylor made his season debut on Saturday, but failed to register a stat in three minutes.

To be fair, it is hard to impress in just three minutes, but it is clear that Taylor won't be in the rotation soon. Leave him on the waiver wire.
Sat, Dec 20, 2014 10:19:00 PM

Jeff Taylor is active to face the 76ers on Friday.

It will be his first game on the active list since being suspended for 24 games. His suspension ended on Wednesday and he was inactive. Taylor might get some run with Lance Stephenson (hip) out. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.
Fri, Dec 19, 2014 04:28:00 PM

Jeff Taylor will be inactive on Wednesday.

His 24-game suspension ended today. Interestingly, commissioner Adam Silver is in attendance for the Suns at Hornets game. Taylor has no fantasy value.
