Jeff Taylor (ruptured Achilles) threw down a tomahawk dunk during a workout with Hornets teammates on Wednesday.
This is as good a sign as any that Taylor's Achilles has healed after his surgery back in December, and he seems likely to participate without limitations in training camp. Taylor also appeared to have built his upper body strength during his rehabilitation, and he's poised to battle Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for the starting SF job next season. Al Jefferson, Kemba Walker, Gary Neal and Kidd-Gilchrist were also present for Wednesday's workout, an impressive turnout for a voluntary session in June. Jun 11 - 11:53 AM

Jeff Taylor has attended every day of the Hornets offseason workouts.

There's no word as to how much his Achilles has healed or the extent of his workouts. Taylor ruptured his Achilles back on Dec. 20, but he's hopeful to suit up for Las Vegas Summer League again. He outplayed Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at summer league and during the season, so he'll have a chance to compete for the starting small forward job.

Hornets forward Jeff Taylor is still recovering from his Achilles in injury but is coming along nicely.

Coach Steve Clifford said he hopes Taylor is able to practice some with the Hornets’ summer-league team in July. Taylor would like to play at Las Vegas Summer League, but Clifford said, "I don’t see any way that can happen." Taylor had a productive few months as a role player before suffering the injury in December. He'll have to work hard in the summer in order to regain his positioning.
May 31 - 12:28 PM

Jeff Taylor's rehab from a ruptured Achilles is progressing well and he hopes to be recovered by "late May, early June."

"I won't push it and hurt myself again," Taylor said. "The main goal is to be healthy for training camp." He's walking around in a protective boot with angled heel lifts and has already been ruled out for the season, whether or not Charlotte makes the playoffs.
Feb 8 - 9:26 AM

Jeff Taylor has been diagnosed with a ruptured right Achilles tendon and he will miss the rest of the season.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (fractured hand) will be in a cast until at least Dec. 26, which should leave the SF position to either Anthony Tolliver or recent D-League call-up Chris Douglas-Roberts. Bobcats coach Steve Clifford could also choose to play unorthodox lineups eschewing both of those players, and Tolliver is the only guy worth stashing outside of deep leagues until we get some insight into Clifford's plans.

Jeff Taylor suffered a right Achilles injury during the first quarter and will not return to Friday's game.

He will be re-evaluated on Saturday to check on the severity of the injury. On the plus side, it would appear he didn't suffer a complete rupture of the tendon because a team doctor can usually diagnose that without an MRI, but he was in a lot of pain. Anthony Tolliver is a decent pickup in deeper leagues while Ramon Sessions can be added for owners looking for some point guard help.

Jeff Taylor suffered an injury to his right leg and went to the locker room in the first quarter of Friday's game.

It did not look good and he was on the floor in a lot of pain. Taylor needed some assistance to the locker room, so hopefully this is nothing serious. Anthony Tolliver replaced Taylor and would be a speculative add in deep leagues. Ramon Sessions would also gain value since the Bobcats have been using a lot of three-guard lineups lately.

Jeff Taylor hit just 3-of-9 shots and two 3-pointers for eight points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal in 26 minutes of Tuesday's win.

Despite starting since Michael Kidd-Gilchrist went down, Taylor hasn't scored more than nine points in four straight games. Over that stretch, he's averaging just 8.0 points on 31 percent shooting, which isn't going to cut it. Despite his poor play, his job doesn't look to be in jeopardy, as Jeff Adrien and Anthony Tolliver didn't even get off the bench tonight. Gerald Henderson is spending some time at small forward when Taylor's on the bench, but Taylor could still emerge with some value if his shot ever starts falling.

Jeff Taylor couldn't get his shot to fall on Saturday against the Lakers, making 3-of-13 from the field for seven points with five boards, three steals and one block in 28 minutes.

The Bobcats went with a three-guard lineup down the stretch in a close game, but that wasn't the case against the Pacers on Wednesday with Taylor playing the last 6:20 in that down-to-the-wire loss. Taylor should be fine and could have a better game against a struggling Sacramento defense on Saturday. He should be owned in most leagues.

Jeff Taylor hit just 4-of-12 shots for nine points, zero rebounds, two assists and two steals in 36 minutes in another start for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (broken hand) on Friday.

Taylor should be worth owning while MKG is out, but has struggled in his last two games after returning from his own heel injury, averaging just 8.5 points, 0.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a steal 7-of-20 shooting in two games. He should break out of the funk soon as long as he doesn't lose his starting job.

Jeff Taylor returned to action from his heel injury and started at small forward Wednesday, but had just eight points, one rebound, two assists and a 3-pointer on 3-of-8 shooting in 31 minutes.

He's the primary candidate to fill in for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for the next several weeks, but was much better in his last game when he had 20 points, eight boards and two 3-pointers. Don't give up on him after tonight's dud, as his heel was likely still bothering him, but do expect some inconsistency from the unproven forward.

Jeff Taylor (heel) will start against the Magic on Wednesday.

He missed Monday's game with a heel injury after busting out for a 20-point night on Friday against the Sixers. Taylor has been able to get to the basket with ease with some nice all-around offense on the year, and the team announcing him as active about 100 minutes before tip suggests he's relatively healthy. He's a nice player to consider as a spot start at home. Anthony Tolliver will come off the bench.

Jeff Taylor (heel) "should be good to go" for Wednesday's game vs. the Magic, according to coach Steve Clifford.

Taylor is an interesting fantasy pickup with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (hand) out about 4-6 weeks -- he had 20 points, eight rebounds, one steal and one block in a start at SF on Friday, and minutes shouldn't be an issue with Chris Douglas-Roberts and Anthony Tolliver as his nearest competition. Check back to confirm his status before tip-off.

Jeff Taylor's bruised left heel will prevent him from playing vs. the Warriors on Monday.

Taylor scored 20 points in a start at SF on Friday and should have the job awaiting him whenever he's healthy, since Michael Kidd-Gilchrist remains out for at least a few more weeks. Anthony Tolliver will fill in as a temporary starter on Monday.
Mon, Dec 9, 2013 01:20:00 PM

Jeff Taylor was diagnosed with a left heel contusion and is questionable for Monday's game against the Warriors.

Contusions are usually good news for players, but Taylor is still far from a sure thing for Monday's home game. He was terrific in his second start of the season on Friday with 20 points, so fantasy owners shouldn't downgrade him too much based on this news. If he can't go, Anthony Tolliver would get most of the minutes at small forward.
