DeAndre Liggins returned to action on Saturday with nine points, five rebounds, five assists, three steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes.

He was really aggressive on the defensive end and put on a full-court press quite a bit in this game. Liggins actually turned in one of his best games on the stat sheet for the season, but he won't be this good most nights. Plus, Iman Shumpert (ankle) should be back after the break.
Feb 11 - 10:31 PM

Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Liggins, LeBron James, Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson will start against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Coach Ty Lue said he will not rest anyone for today's game against the Nuggets. Liggins also returns after a tooth issue kept him out on Thursday. He won't be doing much outside of playing defense today.
Feb 11 - 5:56 PM

DeAndre Liggins (tooth) will not play against the Thunder on Thursday and Jordan McRae will start in his place.

Of course something had to happen here, but at least there were no surprises with the big three. There's no fantasy add to make here and hopefully Liggins is out there this weekend.
Feb 9 - 8:19 PM

DeAndre Liggins started on Wednesday and posted eight points, three steals, one assist and one 3-pointer in just 16 minutes.

Iman Shumpert (ankle) was out tonight and he's already been ruled out for Thursday, setting up Liggins for at least one more start. We've seen Liggins get 17 starts this season, and the results are not encouraging for fantasy purposes -- 4.3 points on 36.5 percent shooting, 2.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 steals. Most owners should leave him on the wire.
Feb 8 - 10:07 PM

DeAndre Liggins will move into the starting five for Wednesday's game against the Pacers sans Iman Shumpert (ankle).

Through 17 starts this season, Liggins has only managed to compile averages of 4.3 points, 2.2 boards, 1.4 steals and 1.2 assists per contest on 36.5 percent shooting, so he's not a viable target in most leagues despite the starter distinction. Kyle Korver, however, should see some increased opportunity with the second unit tonight, so if you want to take a flier on someone in DFS, Korver makes sense.
Feb 8 - 11:21 AM

DeAndre Liggins will return to the bench for Monday's game against the Wizards with Kyrie Irving (quad) back in the starting five.

The Cavs are going with their standard starting five of Irving, Iman Shumpert, LeBron James, Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson tonight, so Liggins will be lucky to see his minutes in the teens. He's not a viable target in any setting.

DeAndre Liggins started for Kyrie Irving (quad) against the Knicks on Saturday, scoring five points with three rebounds and one steal in 17 minutes.

He's basically just out there for defense and won't get many shots unless he's open from deep or off a cut. Leave Liggins on the wire.
Feb 4 - 11:30 PM

DeAndre Liggins will get the start for Kyrie Irving (quad) against the Knicks on Saturday.

The Cavs are only calling it tightness on Kyrie's quad, so this may only be a game or two for Liggins. In his previous starts, he averaged 4.3 points, 2.1 boards, 1.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.8 treys. If that sounds appealing to you on the short term, give him a look.
Feb 4 - 7:35 PM

DeAndre Liggins moved back to the bench on Friday with no points, three rebounds, one assist and one turnover in 13 minutes against the Kings.

He moved into the straight backup point guard role again behind Kyrie Irving with no wing minutes tonight. Liggins won't have much value unless you're super desperate.
Jan 14 - 2:00 AM

DeAndre Liggins will come off the bench vs. Sacramento on Friday.

Iman Shumpert will start in place of Liggins, as coach Tyronn Lue tries to shake things up following consecutive road losses to the Jazz and Trail Blazers. Liggins was already a fantasy liability and the arrival of Kyle Korver has further damaged his appeal.
Jan 13 - 2:16 PM

DeAndre Liggins scored five points with three rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 18 minutes against the Nets on Friday.

The Cavs starting unit with Liggins has been one of the best lineup combos in the NBA, but it may be changing with Kyle Korver coming to town. Liggins will be losing playing time.
Jan 6 - 11:41 PM

DeAndre Liggins will remain in the Cavs starting lineup, even after Kyle Korver trade is finalized.

Despite starting each of the Cavs last eight games, Liggins is averaging just 3.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 21.4 minutes over those eight contests. Being played strictly for his defensive energy, Liggins has no fantasy value.
Jan 6 - 10:23 AM

DeAndre Liggins played 20 minutes with eight points, one assist and two 3-pointers against the Celtics on Thursday.

He banged knees with Kevin Love and was limping for a bit, but Liggins seems to be OK. He's been a key part to the starting lineup for the Cavs, which has been one of the best lineup combos in the NBA. That said, there's no fantasy value here.
Thu, Dec 29, 2016 11:22:00 PM

DeAndre Liggins missed his only shot attempt and both of his free throws on Christmas, ending his evening with zero points, two boards, one assist and two steals in 22 minutes.

Liggins briefly exited the game after banging knees with Klay Thompson, but he played through it, and it seems unlikely to force him to spend any time on the sidelines. Still, he’s bringing very little to the stat sheet despite the starter distinction, so he’s really not worth owning anywhere.
