DeAndre Liggins started at PG vs. the Magic on Wednesday, finishing with six points, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 25 minutes.
The Cavs are limiting Kyrie Irving throughout the preseason, which gave the long-limbed Liggins a chance to fight for a roster spot. Mo Williams' retirement means that Kay Felder (14 points) is currently the Cavs' only backup PG with a guaranteed contract, but they're expected to use a platoon behind Kyrie. Oct 5 - 9:33 PM

DeAndre Liggins will start at point guard for Wednesday's preseason game against the Magic.

Kyrie Irving (rest) is getting the night off, so Tyronn Lue will give a guy on a non-guaranteed deal the opportunity to prove himself. Lue has also said that he'll be using a committee approach to handle the backup point guard slot in Cleveland, so don't read too much into Liggins earning the start tonight over guys like Markel Brown, Kay Felder and Jordan McRae.

The Cavaliers are bringing DeAndre Liggins to training camp.

The 28-year-old SG was the Defensive Player of the Year in the D-League, and while he only has an outside chance of making the 15-man roster, the Cavaliers love his ability to defend multiple positions. If he makes the team, Liggins will have very little fantasy value as a defensive specialist.

The Cavaliers have reportedly signed DeAndre Liggins.

While Liggins' deal is reportedly a camp deal, he has a good shot to make the team with J.R. Smith still unsigned. We'll keep an eye on the 28-year-old as camp starts, but he won't have any fantasy value even if he's able to make the Cavs final roster.

DeAndre Liggins has signed a one-year deal with Russian club Krasny Oktyabr, according to David Pick of

Liggins had a strong defensive showing during Summer League, but was a long-shot to make an NBA roster. The 26-year-old has only played 57 games during his three-year NBA career and does not have an out clause in his new contract, so he safely be wiped from fantasy owners' minds for the 2014-15 season (and beyond).

DeAndre Liggins will not be with the Clippers for training camp.

He played one minute with the Heat last season, but it was quite a minute. Liggins made his only shot and grabbed an offensive rebound, which explains his NBA-leading 233.3 offensive rating (no minimum). Obviously, teams are not sold on that sample size.

Free agent DeAndre Liggins will reportedly sign an unguaranteed contract with the Clippers.

He'll join the team during training camp but isn't likely to make the final roster, especially with L.A. closing in on deals with Hedo Turkoglu and Chris Douglas-Roberts. Liggins has appeared in only 57 games during his three-year NBA career.

DeAndre Liggins scored 20 points for the Pistons during Summer League action on Friday, making 6-of-9 field goals and 6-of-7 free throws in the loss.

Liggins added three rebounds and seven assists in 32 minutes, increasing his visibility as he tries to earn an NBA contract for the 2014-15 season. He faced serious criminal charges in 2013 and played a total of one minute with the Heat last year. The odds are long that he'll make a team, let alone play a meaningful role.

DeAndre Liggins was at the Brooklyn Nets' facility this week in the hopes of receiving an invite to the team's summer league squad in Orlando next month.

Liggins was one of 31 players trying to hook on with the Nets, but the former Kentucky Wildcat felt good about his performance. "I shot the ball," Liggins said. "I know I could shoot it better but it’s OK. I played unselfish, did all the right things, followed my defensive principles, I think I did fine." The 26-year-old has bounced around the D-League since being drafted in the second round by the Orlando Magic in 2011 and will also be attending the Golden State Warriors' mini-camp on June 23. "It’s a process, so you gotta know that going into the NBA," Liggins said. "If you’re not that type of John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins or [Eric] Bledsoe, you just gotta be willing to do whatever it takes to get better."

Heat waive G DeAndre Liggins.

He played 1.4 minutes with the Heat, but they were some impressive minutes. Liggins made his only field goal and led all players since the All-Star break with an offensive efficiency rating of 233.3. Sample size, folks.

DeAndre Liggins will play for Miami's D-League team on Sunday in Canton, Ohio. He will then return to Miami for Monday's home game.

Liggins is a bench warmer for the Miami Heat, and he is irrelevant in all fantasy landscapes. He will get some playing time on Sunday in the D-League, then return to his bench role on Monday.

DeAndre Liggins signed a second 10-day contract with the Heat on Saturday.

Liggins is a big, athletic SG but unfortunately he doesn't have an appreciable role with the Heat, having played exactly one minute this season. On a positive note, the felony charges which led to Liggins' arrest in in August have since been dropped.

Miami Heat sign G DeAndre Liggins.

Liggins will join the Heat after being signed on a 10-day contract from their D-League affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce. Liggins appeared in 35 games for the Skyforce this season and averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists. The 25-year-old won't serve as much more than bench depth for Miami so his fantasy value is more or less non-existent.

The Heat are interested in signing free agent DeAndre Liggins.

He got in some trouble off the court and was charged with seven criminal charges, including kidnapping. Liggins was with the Thunder last season, but never really did much in his career. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.

Former Thunder G DeAndre Liggins has been charged with seven criminal offenses, including domestic abuse and kidnapping.

OKC waived Liggins on Friday in the wake of his arrest and criminal charges, which new reports have revealed to be extremely serious. Given his marginal role while with the Thunder, and the severity of his alleged crimes, it's fair to question if he'll play in the NBA again. Follow the link for more details.
