Date:

DeAndre Liggins will come off the bench vs. Sacramento on Friday.

Iman Shumpert will start in place of Liggins, as coach Tyronn Lue tries to shake things up following consecutive road losses to the Jazz and Trail Blazers. Liggins was already a fantasy liability and the arrival of Kyle Korver has further damaged his appeal.
Jan 13 - 2:16 PM

DeAndre Liggins scored five points with three rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 18 minutes against the Nets on Friday.

The Cavs starting unit with Liggins has been one of the best lineup combos in the NBA, but it may be changing with Kyle Korver coming to town. Liggins will be losing playing time.
Jan 6 - 11:41 PM

DeAndre Liggins will remain in the Cavs starting lineup, even after Kyle Korver trade is finalized.

Despite starting each of the Cavs last eight games, Liggins is averaging just 3.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 21.4 minutes over those eight contests. Being played strictly for his defensive energy, Liggins has no fantasy value.
Jan 6 - 10:23 AM

DeAndre Liggins played 20 minutes with eight points, one assist and two 3-pointers against the Celtics on Thursday.

He banged knees with Kevin Love and was limping for a bit, but Liggins seems to be OK. He's been a key part to the starting lineup for the Cavs, which has been one of the best lineup combos in the NBA. That said, there's no fantasy value here.

DeAndre Liggins missed his only shot attempt and both of his free throws on Christmas, ending his evening with zero points, two boards, one assist and two steals in 22 minutes.

Liggins briefly exited the game after banging knees with Klay Thompson, but he played through it, and it seems unlikely to force him to spend any time on the sidelines. Still, he’s bringing very little to the stat sheet despite the starter distinction, so he’s really not worth owning anywhere.

DeAndre Liggins started again on Friday but finished with just three points, one 3-pointer and one steal in 17 minutes of action.

In five previous starts, Liggins averaged 5.8 points on 38.5 percent shooting, 3.2 boards and 1.8 assists, while shooting 38.5 percent. He also added 1.0 threes, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks, which is promising, but only deep-league owners should consider Liggins while J.R. Smith is on the shelf for 3+ months.

DeAndre Liggins started Wednesday's game and posted five points, four rebounds, one block and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes of action.

Liggins could be starting for the foreseeable future since J.R. Smith's thumb surgery is expected to cost him roughly 4-6 weeks. He has a marginal usage rate and is shooting poorly this season from both the field (41.5 percent) and the line (66.7 percent), so he's not an attractive pickup.

DeAndre Liggins will move into the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Bucks, with J.R. Smith (thumb) unavailable.

Tyronn Lue wouldn't commit to starting Liggins long-term, instead saying he would use a committee approach to fill the void left by Smith, so he's not an attractive add in most settings. Iman Shumpert should be able to exceed 30 minutes off the bench tonight, so he's on the radar in deep leagues.

DeAndre Liggins could move into the starting lineup with J.R. Smith (thumb) out indefinitely, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Windhorst is pretty plugged into what's going on in Cleveland, and he argues that the Cavs need Iman Shumpert to operate as the backup point guard off the bench, which is why Liggins will be jettisoned into the starting five. That makes sense, and Liggins did start the second half on Tuesday with Smith going out, but through four starts this season he owns meager averages of 6.0 points, 3.0 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.0 block and 1.0 triple on 38.1 percent shooting. Liggins isn't a great pickup in most formats, while Shumpert is on the radar as a speculative add in deep leagues.

DeAndre Liggins started the second half of Tuesday's game for J.R. Smith, who left early with a thumb injury, and had three points in 20 minutes.

More interestingly, Iman Shumpert played 33 minutes off the bench and had six points, four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a 3-pointer, hitting just 2-of-8 shots. If Smith is going to miss time, and he could, Shumpert is the guy we'd prefer to own in his stead, despite tonight's struggles.

DeAndre Liggins had 10 points (3-of-9 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), three boards, two steals and one assist in 25 minutes vs. the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Liggins earned his second straight start at PG with Kyrie Irving resting due to "tired legs." Cleveland will be at full strength vs. the visiting Lakers on Saturday, so there's no incentive to trifle with Liggins in fantasy leagues.

DeAndre Liggins will earn another start vs. the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

The Cavs are resting their three stars, which will result in another start for Liggins tonight. There have been conflicting reports about the starting unit, but it sounds like Liggins will be joined by J.R. Smith, Mike Dunleavy, Tristan Thompson and Channing Frye.
Wed, Dec 14, 2016 06:56:00 PM

DeAndre Liggins started in place of Kyrie Irving (rest) on Tuesday vs. Memphis, but only scored three points on 1-of-7 shooting.

Liggins did salvage his line with five rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and one triple, and he saw a solid workload (32 minutes) as well. Surprisingly, Irving is going to be rested again along with LeBron James and Kevin Love on Wednesday, so Liggins will draw another start and will have a little more upside this time with all three of the "Big 3" on the shelf.

DeAndre Liggins will start in place of Kyrie Irving (rest) on Tuesday vs. Memphis.

Liggins has started two games this season, but, due to a very low usage rate, he has failed to register any significant fantasy impact even when playing over 20 minutes. Liggins has yet to score more than six points or dish out more three assists in any game this season. Irving will likely return to the starting lineup on Wednesday for the back end of Cleveland's back-to-back.
