DeAndre Liggins was at the Brooklyn Nets' facility this week in the hopes of receiving an invite to the team's summer league squad in Orlando next month.
Liggins was one of 31 players trying to hook on with the Nets, but the former Kentucky Wildcat felt good about his performance. "I shot the ball," Liggins said. "I know I could shoot it better but it’s OK. I played unselfish, did all the right things, followed my defensive principles, I think I did fine." The 26-year-old has bounced around the D-League since being drafted in the second round by the Orlando Magic in 2011 and will also be attending the Golden State Warriors' mini-camp on June 23. "It’s a process, so you gotta know that going into the NBA," Liggins said. "If you’re not that type of John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins or [Eric] Bledsoe, you just gotta be willing to do whatever it takes to get better." Jun 5 - 9:50 AM

Heat waive G DeAndre Liggins.

He played 1.4 minutes with the Heat, but they were some impressive minutes. Liggins made his only field goal and led all players since the All-Star break with an offensive efficiency rating of 233.3. Sample size, folks.
Mar 14 - 2:27 PM

DeAndre Liggins will play for Miami's D-League team on Sunday in Canton, Ohio. He will then return to Miami for Monday's home game.

Liggins is a bench warmer for the Miami Heat, and he is irrelevant in all fantasy landscapes. He will get some playing time on Sunday in the D-League, then return to his bench role on Monday.
Mar 9 - 1:03 PM

DeAndre Liggins signed a second 10-day contract with the Heat on Saturday.

Liggins is a big, athletic SG but unfortunately he doesn't have an appreciable role with the Heat, having played exactly one minute this season. On a positive note, the felony charges which led to Liggins' arrest in in August have since been dropped.
Mar 8 - 5:18 PM

Miami Heat sign G DeAndre Liggins.

Liggins will join the Heat after being signed on a 10-day contract from their D-League affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce. Liggins appeared in 35 games for the Skyforce this season and averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists. The 25-year-old won't serve as much more than bench depth for Miami so his fantasy value is more or less non-existent.

The Heat are interested in signing free agent DeAndre Liggins.

He got in some trouble off the court and was charged with seven criminal charges, including kidnapping. Liggins was with the Thunder last season, but never really did much in his career. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.
Feb 23 - 3:38 PM

Former Thunder G DeAndre Liggins has been charged with seven criminal offenses, including domestic abuse and kidnapping.

OKC waived Liggins on Friday in the wake of his arrest and criminal charges, which new reports have revealed to be extremely serious. Given his marginal role while with the Thunder, and the severity of his alleged crimes, it's fair to question if he'll play in the NBA again. Follow the link for more details.

The Thunder have waived DeAndre Liggins following an arrest for domestic violence.

Liggins showed some limited promise in very limited minutes last year, and he'll have his work cut out for him to make his way back onto an NBA roster.

Details have emerged in the domestic violence case that landed DeAndre Liggins in jail Saturday, in the form of a probable-cause affidavit, and the news is not good.

He's accused of punching his girlfriend, Jasmine Horton, in front of their 2-year-old son, then kicked in the door she had locked herself behind, pushed her down, dropped a fan on her, stomped her with his foot and dropped an Xbox on her head, according to the affidavit. The police report states that Horton had a variety of injuries, although Liggins has still not been charged with a crime. He's been released from jail on $8,000 bail and averaged just 1.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 39 games last season. If he is charged and these charges turn out to be true, there's a very good chance he won't be playing for the Thunder this season.

Thunder guard DeAndre Liggins has been arrested and jailed on charges of domestic abuse.

Specifically, he's been accused of domestic assault, battery with a dangerous weapon, and domestic abuse in the presence of a minor. The Thunder are aware of the situation and this may encourage them to cut Liggins, whose deal for the 2013-14 season is fully unguaranteed.

DeAndre Liggins has been spending extra time on improving his 3-point shooting.

"Liggins has become a really reliable corner 3-point shooter," said Thunder coach Rex Kalamian. "I think with his feet set there we trust him as much as anybody on our team." Liggins said that he's trying to continue to shoot until his "arms fall off," and OKC has given him a green light to shoot more in Summer League after shooting 30.4 percent from downtown in his career. He still has some work to do to get on the fantasy radar -- especially with Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb playing well.

DeAndre Liggins (rest) will not play in Monday's Summer League game.

He scored just two points in 23 minutes on Sunday. Liggins' contract isn't guaranteed with the Thunder and he'll have to perform to earn a spot on the team. The Thunder committing to Jeremy Lamb a bit more doesn't help his cause, though.

DeAndre Liggins is hoping to return to the Thunder next season.

"I don't know if they want to bring me back," he said. "I would like to be in OKC." The team has an option worth less than $1 million to bring him back and it's not guaranteed, and beat writer Darnell Mayberry writes it would be "surprising" if Liggins didn't return to the team.

DeAndre Liggins is surprised he's getting a chance to contribute after the injury to Russell Westbrook.

"I didn't know who coach was going to choose," Liggins said. "I was just ready; my job is just to stay ready," he added. Coach Scott Brooks said he likes what Liggins can provide and the swingman provides the team with "a little bit of balance." Liggins is intense on defense and OKC needs to badly improve on that end of the floor after multiple breakdowns in Game 5.

Thunder recall G DeAndre Liggins and F/C Daniel Orton from the D-League.

Neither player has been a real contributor for OKC this season and odds are this won't be their last trip to the D-League.
