Lucas Nogueira played just 19 minutes but hit 4-of-5 shots for eight points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
Nogueira is always worth keeping an eye on, but doesn't play or score enough to really be trusted. He's averaging 8.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 2.0 blocks in 18.6 minutes over his last five games, but the last time he got hot like this, he quickly disappeared. Just keep an eye on him. Lucas Nogueira played 23 minutes and hit 5-of-5 shots for 11 points, eight rebounds, two steals and three blocks in Saturday's crazy 128-84 blowout win over the Hawks.

Jonas Valanciunas has been awful over his last five games while the Raptors have now won six straight. Nogueira is averaging just 6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 2.2 blocks over his last five games, but is shooting a ridiculous 81 percent from the floor over that stretch. If JV continues to struggle, Nogueira might be worth a flier, but he's just as likely to score two points as he is 10 on any given night. Just keep him on your radar.
Dec 3 - 11:49 PM

Lucas Nogueira scored a season-high 13 points with three rebounds, two steals and two blocks on Friday vs. the Lakers.

"Bebe" did all of his damage in just 18 minutes, shooting 5-of-5 from the field and falling one point shy of his career high. He has at least one block and one steal in three straight games, but he's only eclipsed the 20-minute mark one time since Nov. 12. He's a deep-league asset until his role grows.
Dec 2 - 10:12 PM

Lucas Nogueira played 10 minutes against the Kings and shot 0-of-1 from the field.

This was Nogueira’s third consecutive game without scoring a point. He did block two shots and get a steal, but has been a non-factor on the offensive side. In each of his last three games, he has played no more than 16 minutes. At this time, Nogueira has minimal fantasy appeal.
Nov 20 - 11:52 PM

Lucas Nogueira (personal) will not play against the Nuggets on Friday.

He is not with the team tonight to be with his wife and their first child, but he is expected to rejoin the Raptors on Sunday in Sacramento. Nogueira has been terrific as bench guy and has picked up clutch minutes behind Jonas Valanciunas. The Raptors will mix it up with Jakob Poeltl, Pascal Siakam and Pat Patterson behind JV. We may get 30 minutes of JV, as well.
Nov 18 - 7:44 PM

Lucas Nogueira went scoreless off the bench on Wednesday with five rebounds and two assists in just 13 minutes of action.

Nogueira was doomed by foul trouble and an inability to defend Channing Frye during Tuesday's tough loss, resulting in a scoreless appearance in 10 minutes. Tonight it was the Warriors' fluid small-ball lineups that stymied him. He'll maintain his role as a backup center and should have more games with minutes in the mid-20s, but most owners can cut him for a more reliable option.
Nov 17 - 12:33 AM

Lucas Nogueira played 10 minutes vs. the Cavs on Tuesday, going scoreless with four rebounds and one block.

He didn't attempt a shot and couldn't stay out of foul trouble, picking up three quick fouls as soon as he checked in. Jonas Valanciunas scored 14 points in 34 minutes and looks healthy again, so that dampens the fantasy appeal of Nogueira. Similar to Bismack Biyombo last season, Nogueira could have some big games, but he's very hard to trust in standard leagues while J-Val is healthy.
Nov 15 - 10:21 PM

Lucas Nogueira said he knew that the departure of Bismack Biyombo would open up some opportunity for him to produce in Toronto.

"I changed a lot of bad habits during the summer because I knew my chance was gonna come, because the cap, it was gonna be hard to keep Biz," said Nogueira. "So I knew coaches, GMs, they gonna believe in me. So since the season’s over last year, June, I changed a couple of bad habits during the summer and I put in the work to be ready for the opportunity right now." Bebe has been swatting away 3.0 shots per game over the past three, so he's worth a look in deep leagues for those seeking a shot blocking specialist.
Nov 14 - 4:51 PM

Lucas Nogueira's hot streak continued on Saturday, as he swatted away a career-high five shots to go with six points, 10 boards, one assist and three steals in 26 minutes off the bench.

Dwane Casey elected to go with Nogueira over Jonas Valanciunas down the stretch, and he had some huge blocks during the closing minutes to ensure the win for Toronto. It’s looking like Nogueira’s hustle and effort on the defensive has earned him a steady 20-minute role in Casey’s rotation, and over the past three he’s chipped in averages of 8.7 points, 8.0 boards, 2.0 steals and 3.0 swats per contest, so he’s on the radar as a speculative add in deep leagues.
Nov 12 - 10:21 PM

Lucas Nogueira came off the bench on Friday vs. the Hornets and had another strong game, scoring 10 points with seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 27 minutes.

He has clearly passed Jakob Poeltl (DNP-CD) on the depth chart and could be looking at a role similar to the one Bismack Biyombo had for the Raptors last season. He saw more minutes than Jonas Valanciunas (21) and closed out the close game, and coach Dwane Casey cited his defensive mobility as the reason why. Nogueira is picking up steam as a decent flier for owners in need of a big.
Nov 11 - 9:41 PM

Lucas Nogueira started the second half vs. the Thunder on Wednesday, hitting 5-of-5 shots to finish with 10 points, seven rebounds, two steals, two blocks and one assist in 29 minutes.

He vastly outplayed rookie center Jakob Poeltl and earned rave reviews from Raptors beat writers, so there's a good chance he's earned a spot in the rotation even if Jonas Valanciunas (knee) returns for Friday's game in Charlotte. Owners in standard leagues should just keep Bebe on their radar.
Nov 9 - 11:09 PM

Lucas Nogueira (ankle) did not play vs. the Wizards on Wednesday.

Nogueira was available to play so this was a simple DNP-CD for the third-year center. Jakob Poeltl (five boards in 17 minutes) has emerged as the Raptors' backup center, which negates any appeal Nogueira might have had.
Nov 2 - 9:49 PM

Lucas Nogueira (ankle) is available to play against the Wizards on Wednesday.

He has not played in the regular season due to an ankle sprain back on Oct. 21. If Nogueira is going to get out there, that could take minutes away from Jakob Poeltl and possible Pascal Siakam. Jonas Valanciunas may see a slight drop in playing time after logging 32.3 minutes per game in the first three outings.
Nov 2 - 6:04 PM

Lucas Nogueira (ankle) will be a game-time decision Wednesday vs. the Wizards.

If he's out, Jakob Poeltl should continue to see limited minutes as Jonas Valanciunas' primary backup, which really doesn't mean much.
Nov 2 - 11:27 AM

Lucas Nogueira (ankle) will not play on Monday vs. the Raptors.

He's still experiencing some pain in his ankle so the Raptors will hold him out to be safe. Jakob Poeltl played 11 minutes as the backup center in the previous outing, so expect a similar workload tonight.
