Darius Morris scored 24 points with two boards, six assists, one steal and one 3-pointer on 9-of-15 shooting in 37 minutes of action in a 120-89 loss to the Spurs on Friday.
Morris played just 14.2 minutes per game in 48 contests for the Lakers this year, but desperate times called for desperate measures. He shot the ball extremely well tonight, which was surprising based on his season shooting of 38.8 percent from the field. The Lakers suffered the worst home loss in their history and it's safe to say they're toast in this series. Steve Nash, Steve Blake and Jodie Meeks could all miss Sunday's game and Morris could get another featured look at point guard. Apr 27 - 1:08 AM

It is "likely" that Darius Morris and Andrew Goudelock will start a must-win Game 3 vs. the Spurs on Friday with all of the team's backcourt injuries.

The Lakers are down 0-2 in the series, and it appears they'll go to battle with their two second-round draft picks from 2011 as the starting backcourt. Neither Morris nor Goudelock is an NBA point guard, so Pau Gasol will be asked to do a great deal of facilitating. Morris has proven his worth on the defensive end at times, but he's struggled on offense, and while Goudelock was named D-League MVP, he's yet to prove he can be a real threat against bigger, stronger two-guards in the league. It could be a long night for the Lakers as the team looks to avoid falling into an 0-3 hole.

Lakers recall G Darius Morris from the D-League.

Morris just went down to get some much-needed minutes in before returning to the end of the Lakers bench.
Apr 5 - 9:04 AM

The Lakers reassigned Darius Morris and Robert Sacre to the D-League on Wednesday.

The last time we updated you on Morris and Sacre they were both on their way to the D-League, which is where they've each spend parts of this season. Neither player will factor into fantasy leagues this season.
Apr 3 - 3:22 PM

The Lakers assigned Darius Morris and Robert Sacre to the D-League on Thursday.

Our last updates on Morris and Sacre came Jan. 9 and Jan. 10, respectively, which should tell you all you need to know. They'll likely shuffle back and forth between the D-League and the NBA once or twice more before the season's up.
Mar 7 - 4:33 PM

Darius Morris started at shooting guard for the Lakers on Tuesday and had 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers on 5-of-7 shooting in just 17 minutes.

Starting or not, he's going to need a lot more than 17 minutes to offer fantasy value, and it's not likely he'll be worth owning, regardless of how banged up the Lakers become.
Jan 9 - 12:02 AM

Updating a previous item, Darius Morris or Antawn Jamison could start on Tuesday.

Regardless of who starts, both players will be tasked to play more minutes than usual with all of the injuries to the Lakers stars. Jamison has far more fantasy upside than Morris, but Mike D'Antoni has banished the veteran to the bench recently. He has no choice but to play him now.
Jan 8 - 1:14 PM

The Lakers game notes indicate Darius Morris will start at shooting guard on Tuesday.

Steve Nash will join him in the backcourt, with Kobe Bryant moving to small forward, Metta World Peace at power forward and Robert Sacre as the starting center. Kobe will be tasked to do the heavy lifting on offense, but that's not a new role for him.

Darius Morris will start at shooting guard for the Lakers again on Tuesday against the Knicks.

He'll spend time with Metta World Peace guarding Carmelo Anthony, and that plan of the Lakers starting Jodie Meeks at shooting guard and Kobe Bryant at small forward still hasn't happened. Morris has no fantasy value, while Meeks is worth a look, even when coming off the bench. Kobe will get his first start at small forward today.

Darius Morris started at shooting guard for the Lakers on Saturday, but he finished with just six points and zero rebounds or assists in nine minutes.

Mike D'Antoni was eager to have Morris defending Stephen Curry, freeing Steve Nash of that burden, but the arrangement is subject to change. Either way, Nash's return has erased his minimal value.

Darius Morris scored a career-high 15 points on Sunday, making 5-of-8 FGs with three 3-pointers in 18 minutes vs. the Sixers.

Morris also suffered a mild right ankle sprain during the game -- he was able to play through the ailment, but sprains can worsen overnight so we'll include him on the injury list as a precaution. L.A.'s next game is Tuesday vs. the Bobcats.

Darius Morris had nine points, two rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes on Friday.

He has been efficient in the scoring department by shooting 4-of-6 tonight and 3-of-5 on Wednesday. He still doesn't have enough value with Steve Nash's return on the horizon.

Darius Morris started again on Tuesday and had just three points, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes against the Nets.

Morris was coming off a nice 12-point, five-dime game on Sunday and it would appear that game is more of an outlier. Steve Blake should be back soon and Morris can be left on the wire in all but the deepest of leagues.

Darius Morris is feeling more comfortable as a point guard with extended playing time.

Injuries to Steve Nash (leg) and Steve Blake (abdomen) have opened the door for Morris to earn valuable minutes. "I just needed to get some reps," he said. "Being a pick-and-roll guy all my life, it kind of fits my game well," he added. Morris already has 23 assists this season after having just 21 total during his rookie year.

With Bernie Bickerstaff once again coaching the Lakers, starting PG Darius Morris scored 12 points with two 3-pointers, five assists and two steals in 31 minutes.

Mike D'Antoni is still recovering from knee surgery but said that he could make his Lakers' debut on Tuesday or Wednesday. Morris has acquitted himself well this week, but Steve Blake (abdomen) and Steve Nash (leg) will soon spoil any value he might have.
