The Lakers are expected to waive C Jeremy Tyler, allowing him to sign a contract in China.

Tyler appeared in three preseason games, averaging 2.7 points in 9.3 minutes per game, and he was never likely to make L.A.'s regular-season roster.

Jeremy Tyler had six points, five rebounds and one block in 11 bench minutes vs. Golden State on Sunday, showing no signs of a recent hip injury.

There was a speculative report that he tweaked his hammy during Thursday's practice, but it doesn't appear to be a concern. Tyler slots into a backup center role, and the presence of Ed Davis and Robert Sacre could cause him to be waived before the regular season.

Jeremy Tyler may have suffered a hamstring injury at practice on Thursday.

The injury is not confirmed and the team should pass along any info on Friday. Tyler will have a tough time making the team, especially with an injury.

The Lakers invited Jeremy Tyler to training camp on an unguaranteed contract.

They're also bringing in Jabari Brown, Keith Appling and Roscoe Smith, but Tyler seems like he'd have the best chance of making the regular-season roster. The 6'10" big man has spent time with the Warriors, Hawks and Knicks, with career averages of 3.6 points and 2.6 rebounds.

Kings waive C Jeremy Tyler.

He was traded from the Knicks earlier this summer, but the move was never really much more than the Kings getting Quincy Acy's contract off their books. Tyler could wind up on a training camp roster, but he may also be headed back overseas.

The Kings are expected to waive Jeremy Tyler.

He was picked up in a trade from the Knicks last month and the team apparently doesn't want to give him a shot. Tyler hasn't come on yet and the clock is ticking for the former elite high school prospect, but he'll likely wind up on a training camp roster somewhere.

The Knicks traded Jeremy Tyler to the Kings on Wednesday.

He was a bit of a project without playing any college ball and he never really came around with the Knicks. Tyler will get a chance to show what he can do in Sacramento and will have to fight for minutes over Carl Landry, Reggie Evans, Jason Thompson and newly-signed Eric Moreland

Cole Aldrich is expected to start against the Celtics on Wednesday and Jeremy Tyler will come off the bench.

With Amare Stoudemire (rest), Kenyon Martin (ankle) and Tyson Chandler (personal) out, the Knicks are almost out of options at center for the most part. On Monday without Chandler and STAT on the bench, Tyler played center for every other possession except for the last 43 seconds of garbage time. That playing time went to Cole Aldrich, who should get in the mix tonight. In the small sample size, Tyler has been effective in pick and roll and has been solid in scoring on the offensive glass. He's far from a sure thing, but he has a chance to eclipse his season high of 23 minutes tonight.

Jeremy Tyler put up his first double-double of the season on Friday with 12 points, 11 boards, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes.

It's the second double-double of his career with his first coming during his rookie season back in 2011-12. Tyler picked up some garbage time, but the good news is he's coming around and is actually developing some moves in the low post. If the Knicks suffer another injury, he'll be on the radar in some formats.

Jeremy Tyler has been recalled from the D-League BayHawks.

Tyler was sent down on Wednesday as a way to get him some more practice time during the Knicks' off day and will now rejoin the team on Thursday. Tyler is coming off his best game of the year during Tuesday's blowout win over Boston and, while those numbers were inflated by garbage time, he could provide some value for fantasy owners in deeper leagues if he is able to secure the backup center role behind Tyson Chandler.

Jeremy Tyler scored a season-high 17 points to go along with five rebounds and two blocks on 7-of-9 shooting in 21 minutes off the bench on Tuesday.

He benefitted from some garbage time in the blowout, but had eight points and five rebounds against the Bobcats on Friday. It looks like he might have secured the backup center job with this performance, so owners in deeper leagues might want to take notice.

Jeremy Tyler scored a season-high eight points against the Bobcats during Friday's 125-96 win to go with five boards, one assist, one steal and two blocks.

He didn't look bad tonight and even caught an alley-lop from J.R. Smith. Tyler has some talent, but he's a bit of a mistake-prone guy and it will limit his minutes. He can be ignored in most leagues.

Jeremy Tyler played 14 minutes against the Clippers on Friday with six points and two boards.

He made all three of his shots from the field and upped his season shooting percentage to a robot 80.0 percent. Tyler will be in the rotation while the Knicks are missing Kenyon Martin and Amare Stoudemire, but he's only an option in very deep leagues.
Fri, Jan 17, 2014 11:00:00 PM

Jeremy Tyler is likely to rejoin the Knicks' rotation.

With Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin set to miss at least a couple games, Tyler stands to inherit some minutes backing up Tyson Chandler and Andrea Bargnagni. The third year player is only averaging 2.8 minutes per game in January, however, so his fantasy value is limited to deeper leagues as he still may not see more than 10-12 minutes as an injury fill-in.
