The Hawks will bring Keith Benson to training camp.

Benson was originally drafted by the Hawks as a second-round pick in 2011, but he was waived before the season started and wound up playing with the Warriors last year after a stint in the D-League. The team will also bring in G Squeaky Johnson.

Warriors signed C Keith Benson.

Benson comes from the D-League, where he was playing for the Sioux Falls SkyForce. He'll give the Warriors more depth at center, but guys like Jeremy Tyler and Mickell Gladness are more likely to get minutes than Benson.

Hawks draft pick Keith Benson is expected to be waived next week by the Italian team Dinamo Sassari.

This sounds like a mutually-agreed upon arrangement, as Benson can begin his NBA career (assuming the lockout actually ends) and the Italian team is signing Steven Hunter as a replacement.

Dinamo Sassari denied a report that Keith Benson is going to be waived from the team.

Benson had been struggling to adjust to the European game, but he recently had eight points and 13 rebounds against Vanoli Cremona, and that could've been enough to keep him in the plans for the time being.

Benson has averaged just six points and four rebounds in 21 minutes, and if he can't play in Italy, his chances of making the Hawks' final roster could be slim.

Keith Benson has agreed to a contract with Dinamo Sassari in Italy.

Benson was the no. 48 overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2011 draft, and he should get some much needed exposure overseas during the work stoppage. Benson is a tremendous shot blocker, but he really needs to fill out his frame to have success beneath the bucket in the NBA.

Benson is a great shot blocker, but lacks muscle. If he on some weight and muscle, he could stick with the Hawks.

Oakland center Keith Benson, who is 6'11", touched above the 12-foot bar during the high-jump drill at pre-draft camp on Friday.

Benson has scheduled workouts with Miami, Boston, and Portland, and projects as an early second-round pick. He averaged 17.9 points, 10. 1 rebounds and 3.6 blocked shots last season.
