Nikola Vucevic racked up 20 points, 13 rebounds (four offensive), five assists, two blocks and one steal vs. the Spurs on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough to avoid another home loss.
The Magic have been struggling at the Amway Center lately, and they're now just 14-13 at home on the season. Vuc logged 37 minutes tonight and the 22 shot attempts were his most in nearly a month -- he's a top-30 roto value through Orlando's first 49 games, and there's no reason to think he'll slip down the stretch. Date:

Nikola Vucevic scored 28 points against the Hawks during a 117-110 overtime win on Monday, adding 13 rebounds, six assists and one block.

The Hawks are probably glad they won't see Vucevic for a while after he beat them for a game-winner on Sunday. Vooch is playing really well again over his last five, averaging 19.8 points, 8.8 boards, 3.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks on 51.7 percent from the field. He's sitting on third-round value on the season.
Feb 9 - 12:02 AM

Nikola Vucevic scored 22 points on 11-of-19 shooting (including a game-winning, turnaround jumper) on Sunday, to go with nine boards, two assists, two steals and an unfortunate six turnovers in 35 minutes.

Vucevic's value has dipped to fifth-round status over the past month, largely due to the fact that he's been shooting just 43.5 percent from the field, so tonight's 57.8 percent shooting performance was a welcome sight for his owners. As a career 51.0 percent shooter, Vuc should get the shooting sorted out soon enough, so now would be a good time to float out some buy-low offers. The video of the buzzer-beating shot can be viewed in the video below.
Feb 7 - 4:30 PM

Nikola Vucevic's shooting slump continued on Sunday as he shot just 6-of-17 to finish with 16 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks.

Vuc's rebounds, assists and blocks have been rock-solid but his shot has abandoned him -- in the past eight games he shot a combined 39.1 percent from the field. An upward correction is inevitable for the career 51.0 percent shooter.
Jan 31 - 9:56 PM

Nikola Vucevic blocked a career-high six shots against the Hornets on Friday, adding 15 points, 12 rebounds, four assist and two steals in 39 minutes.

If you're scoring at home, he blocked Spencer Hawes, Jeremy Lin,Tyler Hansbrough, Kemba Walker and Frank Kaminsky twice. Vucevic shouldn't be affected by a change to their starting lineup and he should have early-round value going forward.
Jan 22 - 10:03 PM

Nikola Vucevic double-doubled during Thursday's overtime loss to the Raptors, scoring 17 points on 8-of-22 shooting with 11 boards, four assists, three blocks and one turnover in 39 minutes.

Head coach Scott Skiles has trimmed down Vucevic’s minutes this season to 30.5 per game (his lowest total since his rookie season), although he’s still putting up third-round value on the year behind averages of 17.1 points, 8.3 boards, 2.8 assists (career-high) and 0.9 blocks (career-high) per game on 52.4 percent shooting from the field. It would be nice if he could see closer to 36 minutes a game on a more consistent basis, but that’s wishful thinking when Skiles is at the helm.
Jan 14 - 7:17 PM

Nikola Vucevic scored 23 points during a 105-99 loss to the Wizards on Saturday with nine rebounds, five assists, one steal and two turnovers.

The Vooch and Channing Frye frontcourt was punished on defense throughout the game and Vucevic hasn't really played well on D in the last 10 games or so. Still, he's back in the good graces of coach Scott Skiles and should be a top-25 player going forward.
Jan 9 - 9:43 PM

Nikola Vucevic scored 16 points with three rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 24 minutes against the Pistons on Monday.

At least he didn't play 13 minutes like he did on Saturday. Vucevic is really struggling on the defensive side, so he'll be at the mercy of his coach because he likes to bench guys for sub-par defensive play. Still, he will eventually snap out of it and is an early-round value. There just might be some bad games in the next few until he plays better.
Jan 5 - 1:20 AM

Nikola Vucevic played just 13 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday with four points, three rebounds, one assist and one turnover.

Well, we mentioned Vucevic possibly getting close to being in the doghouse, and here we are. Vucevic should be out of the doghouse soon, so his owners just have to hang in there for now.
Jan 2 - 10:09 PM

Nikola Vucevic scored 14 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 32 minutes against the Wizards on Friday.

While it wasn't a bad game on the stat sheet, this was his worst game in a long time due to terrible pick-and-roll coverage. He still hasn't been in coach Scott Skiles' doghouse in a long time and he should still be safe for now. Vucevic put up second-round value in December for standard leagues.
Jan 1 - 9:34 PM

The Magic concluded their four-game homestand with a win vs. the Nets, led by Nikola Vucevic's 20 points on 9-of-18 shooting, nine rebounds and three assists.

Orlando's offense is surging in recent weeks but that doesn't mean Scott Skiles is happy. "The fact we've had an uptick in shot-making and scoring shouldn't be a reason to quit on the defensive end and have all kinds of breakdowns," he said. They held Brooklyn to 42.2 percent shooting tonight, while winning the rebound battle 50-37, so maybe Skiles will allow himself a deep breath or two.

Magic head coach Scott Skiles said he thinks that Nikola Vucevic should be an All-Star.

"It should be fairly obvious — and I'm sure it is to the coaches in the East — that he is a very, very high-level player," Skiles said. He's not wrong here, as Vucevic has been one of the most consistent centers in the league this season. Vucci Man is averaging 23.4 points, 8.8 rebounds. 4.4 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.8 steals over his last five games and is a must-start option in all fantasy leagues.

The Pelicans had no answer for Nikola Vucevic during the Magic's 104-89 win as Vucevic scored 28 points with eight rebounds and seven assists in 37 minutes.

He's arguably the most consistent big man in the NBA right now. He's made at least 50 percent from the field in each of his last 11 games, averaging 20.6 points, 8.7 boards, 3.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks on 58.1 percent from the field in that span. He's been a top-15 player since the rotation change.
Mon, Dec 28, 2015 09:44:00 PM

Nikola Vucevic scored a team-high 22 points against the Heat on Saturday during a 108-101 loss, adding 10 rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block.

He's finally getting consistent minutes and only has one game below 27 minutes this month. During his previous games in December, Vucevic averaged 18.4 points, 9.0 boards, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks on 55.3 percent from the field. He's been a top-20 player this month, so his patient owners are feeling pretty good.
Sat, Dec 26, 2015 09:39:00 PM

Nikola Vucevic scored 26 points during a 107-99 win over the Knicks on Monday, adding nine rebounds, two assists and one block.

That's three consecutive 20-point games for Vucevic, who is really starting to heat up after a somewhat cold month. Vucevic is back to being a top-30 player in standard leagues. He's trending up.
