Nikola Vucevic scored 17 points with four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 28 minutes on Monday in Denver.
Vooch has scored at least 15 points in each of Orlando's last five games and is averaging 19.4 points (on 55.7 percent shooting), 8.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 steals over that five-game stretch. His stock is trending upwards and his appears to be poised for a solid second half of the season now that his role in the offense is secure. Jan 16 - 9:15 PM

Date:

Nikola Vucevic played 32 minutes, scoring 15 points with eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in Saturday’s loss to the Jazz.

Despite the tough matchup, Vuc was able to put together a nice performance. He continues to play significant minutes, playing 32 minutes in three consecutive games. In the month of January, he is averaging 30.1 minutes, 16.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Orlando’s new approach on offense has not affected Vucevic in a negative way whatsoever.
Jan 15 - 12:05 AM

Coach Frank Vogel has confirmed that he will use Nikola Vucevic exclusively at center going forward.

Vogel also said that Serge Ibaka will see minutes as the back-up center, which will mean more minutes for Jeff Green at the four. The early returns on Vogel's change in approach have been promising, as Vucevic scored a season-high 30 points in the Magic's win on Friday. The odd man out in the new situation is Bismack Biyombo, who played only 16 minutes on Friday.
Jan 14 - 10:13 AM

Nikola Vucevic scored a season-high 30 points in Friday's win over the Blazers.

He likes this starting thing and coach Frank Vogel confirmed this week that he will stick with him in the first unit going forward. Vucevic played 32 minutes and hit 13-of-18 shots with 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks. He's trending in the right direction and should see a healthy workload on Saturday vs. Rudy Gobert and the Jazz. Bismack Biyombo only played 16 minutes and had two points, five rebounds and two turnovers.
Jan 14 - 12:51 AM

Nikola Vucevic will remain in the starting lineup for Friday against the Blazers.

Coach Frank Vogel said he wants to look at some smaller lineups -- say what? Whatever happens, Vucevic should be able to get minutes in the low 30s and shouldn't be affected by the rotation tweak.
Jan 12 - 7:19 PM

Nikola Vucevic returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday, where he posted 16 points on 8-of-16 shooting with 12 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 32 minutes of action.

Vucevic's owners should temper their excitement, because this could easily be a temporary move to compensate for the absence of Serge Ibaka (shoulder). Ibaka hopes to return on Friday, but even if he heads back to the bench there's reason for cautious optimism -- Vuc logged at least 30 minutes in three of his previous five games.
Jan 12 - 1:52 AM

Nikola Vucevic will start vs. the Clippers on Wednesday, sending Bismack Biyombo to the bench.

Serge Ibaka (shoulder) is out tonight and coach Frank Vogel may just be trying to get more offense in the starting lineup. Ibaka is aiming to return on Friday, so this could be a one-off start for Vuc, but either way it's a positive development for his fantasy owners. Check back after the game to see how the rotation shakes out.
Jan 11 - 9:55 PM

Nikola Vucevic said he's not sure how to get to the free throw line more often.

"I think it’s hard to try to get fouled," Vucevic said. "It’s more of just being more aggressive, going at the rim with more force. I think that’s really it. Sometimes you can kind of draw fouls, but it’s not that easy. If you focus too much on getting fouled, and if you don’t get the call, you’ll probably miss the shot." Vucevic has never averaged more than 2.9 FTs per game in his career and he's currently attempting just 1.8 FTs per game this season. The bigger concern is that he's hitting just 58.5 percent of his attempts, his lowest mark since his rookie season. Coach Frank Vogel said he wants to increase his minutes, so maybe he will be able to get into a better rhythm.
Jan 9 - 9:38 AM

Nikola Vucevic scored 19 points with seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks, one steal and one 3-pointer on Sunday, making 8-of-17 shots in 26 minutes.

The most important event for Vuc tonight was a pre-game quote from Frank Vogel. "[Increasing Vucevic's minutes] is something that we could see going forward," Vogel said. He came in averaging 28.0 minutes per game and any increase would be great news for his fantasy value, even though he's already established as a top-75 guy. Fingers crossed.
Jan 9 - 1:38 AM

Nikola Vucevic scored 14 points with 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals in Monday's win over the Knicks.

He shot an efficient 7-of-11 from the field, his fourth game in a row shooting at or above 50.0 percent. Vucevic did miss his only free throw of the night and that has been a weakness for him this season, as he's now shooting just 59.0 percent in 2016-17, the lowest mark of his career since his rookie season.
Jan 3 - 12:21 AM

Nikola Vucevic notched team highs with 18 points and 11 rebounds on Sunday, making 9-of-18 shots with two blocks, one steal and one assist in 30 minutes.

Orlando's record dropped to 15-20 with tonight's loss and their roster seems unbalanced with Vuc, Bismack Biyombo, Serge Ibaka and Aaron Gordon crowding the frontcourt. It's frustrating to see Vucevic averaging a mere 27.7 minutes per game, but even if he's not traded he's still returning mid-round value with early-round upside.
Jan 1 - 9:15 PM

Nikola Vucevic scored 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Hornets.

Outside of Serge Ibaka, Vucevic was really the only Magic player that showed up tonight. He grabbed six rebounds with four assists, three steals and one block, and this performance breaks a string of three games in which he was held to 13 or less points. A recent report from ESPN's Brian Windhorst indicated that the Magic may look to deal Vucevic before the deadline, and his fantasy owners should be rooting for a trade because his minutes and touches are down this season.

According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the Magic are looking to deal Nikola Vucevic.

The Magic signed Bismack Biyombo to a long-term deal over the summer and it's not a secret that they want to re-sign Serge Ibaka, so Vucevic may be expendable. Vooch is on the books through the 2018-19 season and he's owed a modest $12.25 million in 2017-18 and $12.75 million in 2018-19. Vucevic is playing 27.8 minutes per game this season which is his lowest workload since his rookie year, so a move away from Orlando could be a great thing for his fantasy value. On the other hand, a Vucevic trade could open the door for Aaron Gordon to spend more time at power forward.

Nikola Vucevic scored a season-high 26 points in Tuesday's double-overtime win over the Heat.

He grabbed 12 rebounds with three assists, two blocks and one triple. The big man had seven games in the 2015-16 season with 26+ points through 65 appearances, but he's also taking about four less shots per game this season. He finished 11-of-20 from the field and was second on the team in minutes played with 40 tonight, and he should be able to keep it going against the Knicks on Thursday. On a side note, it's a good sign that he was able to log this many minutes after missing three games last week with his back issue.
Tue, Dec 20, 2016 11:48:00 PM

Nikola Vucevic (back) returned from a three-game absence in Friday's 118-111 win over the Nets, scoring 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting.

He didn't have any limitations and was second on the team in minutes played with 31. He grabbed 10 rebounds with four assists, two steals and three blocks in one of his best all-around performances of the season. Despite coming off the bench, he's a lock to flirt with 30 minutes on most nights because the Magic desperately need his offense.
