The Magic lost to the visiting 76ers on Sunday despite a big game from Nikola Vucevic, who scored 19 points with 17 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.
Vuc made 8-of-14 shots and turned the ball over just once in 36 minutes of action in the type of performance that has cemented him with top-40 fantasy value. The Magic are somehow just two games out of the playoffs in the Eastern Conference, giving them extra incentive to feed Vuc heavy minutes for the foreseeable future. Dec 21 - 8:54 PM

Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said the Magic are feeding Nikola Vucevic in the post more than ever.

"We’ve thrown him the ball more often than we ever have in the past," Vaughn said. "His ability to post up for us, even command double teams, has been very good." His usage rate has skyrocketed, and after signing a 4-year, $53 million extension with the Magic, he's looking like the key cog in Orlando's rebuild. Follow the link below for an excellent feature on Vucevic's journey to the NBA.
Dec 15 - 12:04 PM

Nikola Vucevic returned from a six-game absence on Saturday against the Hawks, finishing with 18 points, 11 rebounds and one block in 35 minutes.

He picked up right where he left off. Vucevic said he didn't expect to see a drop in his conditioning and that held up as a true statement. He'll get a day off before heading to Toronto on Monday. Make sure he's in your lineup in weekly leagues with his four-game slate.
Dec 13 - 10:09 PM

Nikola Vuecvic (back) will start against the Hawks on Saturday.

"We'll see how many minutes he plays," coach Jacque Vaughn said. "I'll gauge and see what he looks like out there." Kyle O'Quinn has been solid in the starting lineup, but he's likely going to lose a ton of minutes even though he does play next to Vucevic on occasion. Tobias Harris and Victor Oladipo will also lose some shots.
Dec 13 - 5:21 PM

Nikola Vucevic (back) is expected to return to the lineup for Saturday against the Hawks.

He's been out for six games and the Magic will likely toss him back in the starting lineup. Vucevic was putting up early-round value and hopefully all this time off has put the injury behind him. Kyle O'Quinn will lose some value while Channing Frye and Tobias Harris may be affected negatively.
Dec 12 - 11:59 PM

Nikola Vucevic (back) will not play against the Hawks on Friday.

It'll be his sixth game out, which is hard to believe because this injury came out of nowhere last week. Kyle O'Quinn will get another start and will have his hands full with Al Horford. He's worth a look tonight. Vucevic owners can only hope he'll be ready for next week.
Dec 12 - 6:02 PM

Nikola Vucevic said his back continues to feel better, but his status for Friday's game vs. the Hawks remains uncertain.

The Magic continue to list Vucevic as day-to-day, so we'll be monitoring his status closely. He's likely headed for another game-time decision, but if he's unable to go, Kyle O'Quinn will be set to log heavy minutes. Stay tuned.
Dec 12 - 11:06 AM

Nikola Vucevic (back) was present and shooting baskets at Magic practice on Thursday.

It's unclear what this means for Friday's game against the Hawks, but it's likely that Vucevic is headed towards another game-time decision after missing the last five games. It he sits again on Friday, Kyle O'Quinn would again draw the start and make for a solid plug-and-play option against Atlanta.
Dec 11 - 11:35 AM

Nikola Vucevic (back) will not play on Wednesday against the Wizards.

It'll be his fifth game out of the lineup and the Magic will go with Kyle O'Quinn again. Vucevic doesn't have a timetable to return specifically, but hoping him to play this weekend isn't too optimistic. Expect the Wizards to attack the paint while Tobias Harris figures to get more chances to score from both power forward spots.
Dec 10 - 5:15 PM

Nikola Vucevic (back) is still considered questionable for Wednesday, and coach Jacque Vaughn said that he will be a game-time decision.

It looks like he will have a good chance to play in this one, but owners will have to be on their toes with a game-time decision looming. If he is active, he will continue to be a must-start player, while Kyle O'Quinn will be worth a plug-and-play if Vucevic sits this one out. Stay tuned.
Dec 10 - 10:45 AM

Nikola Vucevic (back) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.

Vucevic said he is making progress and feeling better, but he is still going to sit out Tuesday's practice. While it's promising to see the questionable tag for Wednesday after four consecutive missed games, we'll have to await more news after Wednesday's shootaround. If Vucevic is unable to go, Kyle O'Quinn would again draw the start and make for a decent plug-and-play option.
Dec 9 - 11:39 AM

Nikola Vucevic (back) will not play in Saturday's game against the Kings.

He was still experiencing some pain, so it is not a surprise to see the Magic hold him out again. Vucevic will now have four full days to recover before Wednesday's game, so he should have a good chance to play in that one. Kyle O'Quinn will likely draw another start Saturday, and is worth a look in almost all leagues.
Dec 6 - 8:22 PM

Beat writer Josh Robbins said he would be surprised if Nikola Vucevic (back) played against the Kings on Saturday.

Robbins is one of the most plugged-in writers in the NBA, so this report holds a lot of weight. Vucevic said he is still managing the pain, so it certainly makes sense he would sit. Plus, Kyle O'Quinn is no slouch as a backup.
Dec 6 - 7:26 PM

Nikola Vucevic (lower-back sprain) will miss his third consecutive game on Friday as the Magic take on the Jazz.

With Vucevic sidelined Kyle O'Quinn is going to get all the minutes he can handle, and will serve as a quality option in daily and standard leagues. The Magic play again on Saturday, but given the way things have been going for Vucevic, he's not looking likely for that one either. Stay tuned.
Dec 5 - 7:31 PM

Nikola Vucevic has been re-evaluated and his injury is now being called a lower-back sprain, he's questionable for Friday's game vs. Utah.

Vucevic will not go through shootaround, so we're likely headed for a game-time decision. If he's unable to go, Kyle O'Quinn will get all the minutes he can handle, and would make for a solid play in daily leagues. Stay tuned.
