Nikola Vucevic stated during a recent interview that he believes he'll be the starting center for the Magic next season.
"I was starting. I don’t expect that to change," said Vucevic. "I think I have proven I am definitely a starter in this league and I believe one of the best centers in this league. I don’t believe there is any reason for me to come off the bench." Bismack Biyombo was reportedly brought to Orlando "to start," but that report has not been confirmed or denied by the Orlando coaching staff. If Vucevic wants to start next season, he may need to change uniforms. Jul 15 - 11:37 AM

Frank Vogel said that both Nikola Vucevic and Bismack Biyombo will play center for Orlando, although he would not say who would start.

Vogel added that he currently has two starting centers on the roster, but with reports coming that Vucevic's name has been thrown around in trade talks, it seem much more likely that Vucevic will be wearing a different jersey by the time the 2016-17 season rolls around. However, if Vucevic does wind up remaining in Orlando, his fantasy value will take a massive hit as he gets locked into a timeshare with Biyombo.
Jul 7 - 5:03 PM

Nikola Vucevic could be "in play for trades," according to Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press.

Bismack Biyombo is apparently going to start for the Magic and they have Serge Ibaka, so someone has to go. Vucevic's defense has always been a concern and coach Frank Vogel may be looking for a defense-first identity. Considering the massive contracts NBA big men are getting this month, there should be a huge market for Vooch.
Jul 2 - 3:30 PM

Magic head coach Frank Vogel believes he can help Nikola Vucevic on the defensive end.

"It's really mostly about body position in today's NBA," Vogel said. "It's angles and anticipation. I feel like I can work with him to improve him. But anybody that's going to be caught in that center position has got to be the anchor of your defense. We work diligently on teaching the angles, teaching the anticipation, teaching the coverages for when there's help." Vucevic obviously isn't known for his defense, but Vogel's had some success getting the best out of guys like Roy Hibbert and Ian Mahinmi, so he should be great for Vucevic's development.
May 22 - 10:10 AM

Nikola Vucevic (leg, groin) started Wednesday's season finale and racked up 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting with four boards and one assist.

Vuc's owners got a boost as he opted to play through the nagging injuries in a meaningless game, which the Magic lost 117-103. His return bumped Dewayne Dedmon to the bench.
Apr 13 - 11:13 PM

Nikola Vucevic (leg, groin) will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Hornets.

Vucevic's return to the starting five will more than likely result in Dewayne Dedmon returning to the bench. Go ahead and fire him up in all season-long settings.
Apr 13 - 7:20 PM

Nikola Vucevic is available to play against the Hornets on Wednesday.

He might be limited in the final due to his leg contusion and his groin issue may not be 100 percent either. Vucevic will be worth starting in season-long leagues, but he's not a great DFS option.
Apr 13 - 7:00 PM

Nikola Vucevic (leg contusion, groin) was a full participant during shootaround and said that he intends to play Wednesday vs. the Hornets.

It sounds like Vucevic will be returning from a one-game absence tonight, which will likely result in Dewayne Dedmon returning to the bench. He should be heavily involved on offense with Victor Oladipo (concussion) set to spend the night on the sidelines, so he's someone to consider as a potential DFS target.
Apr 13 - 12:08 PM

Nikola Vucevic (leg contusion) will not play against the Bucks on Monday.

This isn't the same injury that kept him out for most of March. Vucevic is likely out for the finale on Wednesday, which means Dewayne Dedmon and Jason Smith will get his minutes. Dedmon was playing well just before Vucevic returned from his last injury.
Apr 11 - 5:18 PM

Nikola Vucevic drained 9-of-17 shots to score 19 points during Sunday's lopsided loss in Miami, adding eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 30 minutes.

Vucevic came in averaging 25.5 points vs. the Heat this season, his highest mark vs. any team other than the 76ers, and Miami's decision to start Hassan Whiteside at center didn't throw Vuc off his game. Orlando was riding a hot stretch but tonight's 116-93 loss makes them 5-3 over their past eight games, and they'll look to bounce back in a promising matchup vs. Milwaukee on Monday.
Apr 10 - 8:31 PM

Nikola Vucevic scored 29 points in an impressive 112-109 win over Heat on Friday, adding six rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.

It was a huge game from Vucevic, who was traded to the Magic just before the Sam Hinkie era in Philly. The Magic don't seem to care one bit about tanking, so Vucevic doesn't look like he'll be rested. Going 5-5 in the last 10 has basically locked the Magic into the No. 11 spot in the lottery.
Apr 8 - 10:48 PM

Nikola Vucevic will move back into the starting lineup for Friday's game vs. the Heat.

The Magic were easing him back into action by bringing him off the bench, but he's looked fantastic lately. Vucevic is averaging 21.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks since his return from injury and is a must-start player in all formats.
Apr 8 - 10:56 AM

Nikola Vucevic started the second half of Wednesday's game, finishing with 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting, 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a tough loss to the visiting Pistons.

Orlando's offense has kicked into overdrive recently and Vuc's return to action has been a catalyst, as he's averaging 21.5 points on 63.9 percent shooting in his past four games. He draws a touch matchup vs. the Heat on Sunday but should feast against the Bucks' frontcourt in the second half of a back-to-back set on Monday.
Apr 6 - 10:20 PM

Nikola Vucevic is starting the second half against the Pistons on Wednesday.

He's been coming off the bench, but coach Scott Skiles will change it up. Vucevic has value regardless of his role.
Apr 6 - 8:18 PM

Nikola Vucevic will again come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.

Head coach Scott Skiles said that he didn't want to disrupt the team's rhythm after they've won four of their past five games with Vuc in a reserve role, and coming off the bench also makes it easier for Skiles to monitor his minutes. Vucevic did post a full line through 32 minutes in his previous outing off the bench, so it really doesn't matter much how he enters the game. Go ahead and get him active.
