Nikola Vucevic scored 12 points with 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers against the 76ers on Friday.
He's really found a nice groove in his four games off the bench. In that span, Vucevic averaged 13.8 points, 12.0 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.5 blocks, 0.8 steals and 1.0 treys in 28.1 minutes per game. The Magic have won two of their three games on this road trip and probably should've won all three -- a bad one-point loss in Memphis. Vooch is in great shape off the bench and looks like a top-50 guy again. Dec 2 - 10:12 PM

Nikola Vucevic came off the bench again and hit 6-of-15 shots, a 3-pointer and 5-of-5 free throws for 18 points, 11 boards and three blocks.

Vucevic is keeping his head up, despite being benched for Bismack Biyombo, and has double-doubled in five straight games. He's averaging 17 points, 13.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 1.8 blocks and 0.6 3-pointers on 48 percent shooting over his last five games. Regardless of whether or not he's starting, he's clearly one of the most consistent fantasy centers in the NBA.
Dec 2 - 12:37 AM

Nikola Vucevic double-doubled off the bench on Tuesday vs. the Spurs, scoring 12 points on 6-of-16 shooting with 10 rebounds, two steals and one block in 25 minutes.

This was his second game in a row off the bench and Vucevic wasn't happy about the demotion, but he's still going to get his touches and the minutes will be there if Frank Vogel continues to use a three-man rotation in the frontcourt. Vooch had 17 points with 16 rebounds, three assists, one block and one 3-pointer without any turnovers in 30 minutes in his previous game, so his fantasy value should be fine.
Nov 29 - 11:44 PM

Nikola Vucevic said that he wasn't happy with coach Frank Vogel's decision to bring him off the bench Sunday.

"I didn't think there was a reason for me to go to the bench. But it's Coach's decision," Vucevic said. "All I can do is control what I can control, which is when I'm on the court [to] play to the best of my ability and help the team and stay professional. Whatever is going on, I will keep giving my best and my full effort." The move may have motivated Vucevic, as he scored 17 points with 16 rebounds, three assists, one block and one 3-pointer without any turnovers in 30 minutes, and he played almost three more minutes than his season average. Whether he's starting or not, Vucevic's fantasy value should be safe.
Nov 28 - 9:36 AM

Nikola Vucevic shifted to the bench on Sunday, where he posted 17 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, one block and one 3-pointer without any turnovers.

Bismack Biyombo got the start tonight as coach Frank Vogel thoroughly shook up his starting rotation with three new starters. The decision to bench Vuc was even more surprising since he came in red hot, averaging 19.0 points, 15.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks in his previous two games. Vuc still played 30 minutes tonight, including some time alongside Biyombo, and his owners obviously shouldn't overreact to the perceived demotion.
Nov 27 - 10:00 PM

Nikola Vucevic will move the bench against the Bucks on Sunday with Bismack Biyombo starting ahead of him.

Wow. Coach Frank Vogel is really shaking things up tonight after Vooch turned in two really good games heading into this one. It's likely just about the combos and Vucevic's minutes shouldn't dip too much. Plus, Vogel is likely just going to roll with a three-man big rotation. Vucevic's owners shouldn't worry here.
Nov 27 - 5:21 PM

Nikola Vucevic filled the stat sheet during a 94-91 loss to the Wizards on Friday, scoring 17 points with 17 rebounds, two assists, three steals, three blocks and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes.

That's two really good games in a row for Vooch with a 21-point, 13-board game coming on Wednesday. On the year, Vucevic's shot distribution is very similar to last year, but he's missing shots in all different areas on the court while his usage is also noticeably down. He's going to be better than he has to date, so there's still a buy-low window here even after these two gems.
Nov 25 - 9:55 PM

Nikola Vucevic warmed up on Wednesday with 21 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and zero turnovers in 29 minutes.

Vuc has been slumping offensively all season, shooting just 41.0 percent from the field and a miserable 48.1 percent from the line. Those are both career-lows by a huge margin and an uptick is inevitable -- he sank 10-of-15 shots tonight and his owners can only hope this presages a sustained offensive surge.
Nov 23 - 10:08 PM

Nikola Vucevic double-doubled on Wednesday with 10 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks, but he shot just 5-of-12 from the field and 0-of-2 at the line in 27 minutes.

The blocks are a great sight and this is Vuc's second straight game with double-digit rebounds, so there is cause for optimism. Orlando scored just 69 points in a dreadful offensive display their last time out, due partly to Vuc's 1-of-10 shooting, but his shooting will come around -- the real concern is playing time. He's averaging just 24.3 minutes in the past four games, a number that has clearly must increase for him to attain early-round value.
Nov 16 - 9:50 PM

Nikola Vucevic hit just 1-of-10 shots for two points, 12 rebounds and a block in Monday's 88-69 loss to the Pacers.

The Magic were a mess tonight as their starting unit hit just 14-of-53 shots and they scored a grand total of 69 points. Vuc will bounce back, but it is a bit concerning that he's now hit just 3-of-20 shots over his last two games. They get the center-less Pelicans on Wednesday, so things should soon be looking up for Vucevic.
Nov 14 - 9:55 PM

Nikola Vucevic was hampered by foul trouble throughout Sunday's game, scoring just four points on 2-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, three assists and no defensive stats.

Vuc picked up his third foul early in the second quarter, and his fourth foul came less than two minutes into the third quarter -- in both instances he was immediately pulled for Bismack Biyombo (five points, eight rebounds). It's a disappointing turn of events for Vuc's owners, but it has no long-term significance -- expect him to be a handful vs. Myles Turner and the Pacers on Monday.
Nov 13 - 9:47 PM

Nikola Vucevic made 2-of-12 from the field for four points against the Jazz on Friday, adding seven rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 26 minutes.

It's not fun to play against Rudy Gobert, folks. Coach Frank Vogel is going to have to continue to answer questions about his starting unit because they can't score. Vucevic should still get plenty of shots and minutes no matter who he plays next to.
Nov 11 - 11:24 PM

Nikola Vucevic made his first 3-pointer of the season against the Wolves on Wednesday, finishing with 24 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, one block and no turnovers in 30 minutes.

He is the 11th player in Magic history to post 24-plus points, 14-plus boards and six-plus assists and the first since 2007 (Hedo Turkoglu). There was some concern of Vucevic moving to the bench because the Magic have struggled and that may not have gone away with this line. Still, Vooch's owners have to feel better about this game, but it'll be tough sledding against the Jazz on Friday.
Nov 9 - 10:56 PM

Frank Vogel said that he will not go make a change to his starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves.

Vogel hinted that he was considering a lineup change following Monday's loss to the Bulls, but he went back on that statement Wednesday morning saying that he didn't want to overreact to one blowout loss. However, with Evan Fournier (back) being listed as questionable for Wednesday, Vogel may be forced to tweak his starting five which would likely result in Mario Hezonja running with the first unit. For now, Nikola Vucevic's role as a starter is safe.
Nov 9 - 11:46 AM

Frank Vogel is considering making a change to Orlando's starting lineup.

Vogel wouldn't say whom he's considering bringing into the starting five, but the presumptive move would be Nikola Vucevic heading to the second unit, with Bismack Biyombo getting the opportunity to run with the starters in order to give the team an edge on defense. A move to the bench would not be ideal for Vucevic, who is currently putting up just ninth-round value in standard leagues, while a promotion to the starting five could help Biyombo attain standard league value. The Magic will take on the Timberwolves tonight, so check back closer to tipoff for Orlando's official starters.
